Sroll bars in regions

Is there anyway to use scroll bars in regions. I noted that when you set
the height and width that the region will auto expand if you enter most content
than will fit in the region. Is there a way to fix the width and height and
use scroll bars instead?

Nope. Portal renders content inplace (in pages). If possible, show a summary view in your
portlet (say top 5 of 50 items), with a more link to take you to an expanded view.

Unusable the sroll bar on the touch pad

My Laptop is HP-G42-456TX and product number is LD913PA and installed Windows7 Ultimate Serviec Pack1.
Because of my Labtop become so havy and slow I run the "Wise Registry Clenner" on 13th April 2012 and I delete all the registry found by the Sofrware I run as to be fix, some is recommeded by the software to fix, some does not recommended but I delete all. I can use continously nothing effect and I shutdown. On 14th April when I on my machine the sroll bar on the touch pad is becoming unsuable.
Some body can help me I will very happy.

Do yourself a favor and do not run registry cleaners. They are not the magical elixirs to cure all that they claim to be.
You will have to reinstall the Synaptics touchpad software to have that touchpad feature again. If it does not return the feature the I suggest backing up everything, finding the sofftware keys for additional software you installed sice purchase and doing a factory image recovery.

Horizontal Scroll Bar for Region or Page

Hi,
I have a region with 10 items in a row for data entry. If i resize the browser window or the the screen/resolution is smaller then not all items are displayed and there is no scroll bar.
How can i enable a scroll bar to be able to view all items depending on the current width of the browser?
I'm using Application Express 4.0.1.00.03

You can set the div's width based on the window's width in Javascript. If you are in Apex 4 the following code can do this for you
$('#SPECIAL_DIV').width( $(window).width()/2 );$(window).width() returns a number indicating the window width.
Here the width of an HTML element ( with an ID: SPECIAL_DIV ) is set as the half of window's width.
If you want to resize the item as soon the window is resized(without refreshing the page) ,you can bind the code to the resize browser event
In jQuery, that would be
$(window).resize(function () {$('#SPECIAL_DIV').width( $(window).width()/2 ); });

Setting the project tempo to match an audio region

The manual is pretty clear on how to do this but it talks in terms of one bar audio regions vs. an entire song. I'm trying to do a remix of a song that has subtle although very definate tempo variances throughout. The audio file of the original is imported into Logic and I've tried Options>Tempo>Adjust Tempo using Region Length and Locators but it's giving me one global tempo which does not match up when I compare the audio file to the click. It's not telling me where the tempo changes occur in my tempo track either. I'm wondering if it's even possible to do this. I could beatmap it? I don't know. Should be an easy thing to do.
I suppose a workaround could be to bus the audio file to an aux and then record that aux's output like I was recording it live but that seems like overkill.

The best tool for this is the beatmapping track. It's pretty easy to do, depending on your material, and it will conform Logic's clock to your audio's tempo, with appropriate tempo changes.
Once you beatmapped your track, Logic is in sync with it and you can then add sequences and use quantize etc.
If you are not sure how beat mapping works, shout back...

Groove Template from Region

I tried using a 2 bar MIDI region as suggested in the manual - converted to a Groove Template and it did in fact show up in the Quantize list. However, when I applied it to a region, it then only quantized the first 2 bars. Suggestions?

Select Audio Region
Click on the Show Flex Mode button
Select Flex mode from drop down selector in the track header..... (Change from Auto) and Quantize functionality in Region Inspector will reappear.

Midi and audio regions overlap when recording with autodrop

Say you are playing a melody for notation purposes with midi. You record 2 bars. Region is 2 bars long. You learn the next 2 bars and notice that this phrase actually starts at bar 2 beat 4. So you set autodrop to bar 2 beat 4 and punch in. The new region begins at bar 2 beat 1. If you adjust the region start point you see the end of the first region hiding behind it. In the score window, before trimming that new regions start point, you see rests for the new region and notes from the first region together..really lame. If you trim the new regions start point to bar 2 beat 4 it looks right. This is in replace mode mind you.... Why doesn't the punch appear at the autodrop location instead of at the beginning of the bar. I don't remember logic working like this before, did it? Seems like it was doing the same thing with audio, had regions hiding all over the place behind punches...very confusing. I saw a similar post but it didn't seem to resolve this issue...Is it a bug? A few things (and there aren't many) regarding capture recording... For me it's been a tried-and-true feature of Logic for a very long time and continues to work flawlessly.
How Capture Works (and some operational notes)
Logic continually captures any and all MIDI data from the time you hit PLAY to the time you hit STOP, even if you're not "in record". Notes, program changes, controllers, sysex, anything MIDI will get buffered as you play and are ready to be turned into a region once you hit your Capture k/c. You can play to picture, improvise, whatever, for a very long time and never worry about Logic losing any of what you played.
The KEY is that after you hit STOP, you must hit your Capture k/c before hitting PLAY again, because once you hit PLAY, the MIDI buffer is, out of necessity, be cleared.
However, you don't need to STOP Logic to use Capture. You can play along with a track and hit Capture at any time. Logic will create a MIDI region from what you played and continue capturing additional MIDI data from your real-time performance while Logic continues to run. So you can start Logic, play some stuff, capture, play some stuff, capture, all without hitting STOP. In this scenario, just remember that if you hit STOP at any point that you will need to hit Capture that last bit of your performance (if you hadn't done so already) before hitting PLAY again.
One other operational note that's really important...
CYCLE MODE: If Logic is set to cycle and the cycle wraps to the L-locator before you've captured your performance, you will lose what's in the MIDI buffer. Jumping back to the L-locator in cycle mode is the equivalent of hitting STOP and then hitting PLAY. This is probably the single most important thing to watch out for. I've lost a few good "noodlings" because I had my L-locator set too close.

Twitchy top menu bar vs. isolation mode

The hierarchy/ scene graph/ isolation mode thingy at the top of the work area is many times barely accessible due to the twitchiness of the main menu bar. There needs to be a better separation to make this more consistent.

It's simply the hit area detection between the menu and said hierarchy navigation bar in regions where those eventually overlap. I guess the real issue here is that in particular the permanently appearing help tips get in the way as do occasionally the other menu panes because they fade away too slowly. If this is meant to be retained, the user needs options to turn off the help tips and define the fade duration for the menu panes.

Ok, I've looked and yes, you have the original APEX tabs and the new plugin Nav Bar showing on the page. To remove the original APEX tabs, edit the page attributes and remove the the "Standard Tab Set" attribute. There are other ways to do that too, like changing the page template or deleting all the tabs.
Also, the placement of the Nav Bar is not correct. You're using Theme 26, so place the Nav Bar in "Region Position 8". That will move it to the right spot.
For the override CSS, there are a few options. The file can get uploaded to the the Shared Components -> Cascading Stylesheets
Then to reference it you use #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#enkitec-navbar-override.css (if you specify the file is global to the workspace) or #APP_IMAGES#enkitec-navbar-override.css if you make it specific to the App.
The use that reference in the template or from a region on the Global Page (Page Zero).

Applying Page style sheets to a Content Area.

We have embeded a Folder within a Content Area that has been published as a Portlet and is displayed within a Page. There is a link within the displayed folder which displays another Folder within the Content Area that we have doctored to appear like the Page (by including other Portlets, Nav Bars, same regions etc.). But the second tier (Content Area) does not mimic the Page Style of the home page, ie. we can't mimic Portlet header colours etc. How can we sort this???

Just to clairfy, are you trying to make a folder look like a page, and asking how to impose a page style onto a folder? If so, you can edit your folder style to resemble your page style.

Add a line break using OAF personalisation.

Hi All,
I added a new checkbox in the button bar region for disclaimer purposes as per a client requirement. This checkbox is now sitting in the same line as the rest of other buttons. I want to add a line seperator between the checkbox text and buttons for cosmetic reasons. I tried using spacer option but that just pushes the buttons far and creates a horizontal space bar. Any idea what else can be done?

The page is FinalReviewPG.xml under /oracle/apps/ap/oie/entry/summary/webui/FinalReviewPG 120.1
I tried creating it under: Page Button Bar: Actions Region where I already have a checkbox created with a custom text. I created a seperator in this region and reordered the button bar items to have the seperator between the newly created check box and the existing buttons.

LV listbox size limitation

Is there a limitation to the number of entries a listbox will display? My attached program indicates there is. If you run it, I can only scroll through to 32767 items. Ultimately, I want a program I can list a directory of files(80000+) and allow the user to multi-select for further operations. I experienced this limit with that program in development... so I put the attached program together to confirm the same limitation. I know I can develop an alternate method, but I would like to just use the tools(listbox) provided.

Well, I didn't say it was an Acitve X control, only that IF you are not
talking about an Active X control, that it is completely a LabVIEW
control not relying on any control implementation in the Windows
standard controls.
I can assure you that LabVIEW controls are ENTIRELY implemented by
LabVIEW and do not use any Windows standard controls in any way. LabVIEW
goes however to the extend to try to imitate the look and feel of the
native platform controls if you use the so called dialog controls but
that is a complete LabVIEW implementation.

I'm pretty sure even the scroll bar is a complete LabVIEW
implementation. It would be strange to implement all other controls
completely in LabVIEW (and believe me they are) and only import the
sroll bar from the Windows standard controls. A simple check on non
Windows systems would show if the list box can handle more than 32000
elements there. I really doubt it.

Error 1108 - when using a list

Hi All
APEX 3.0 -0 I do not have the patch installed yet.
I created a vertical unordered list to use as a side bar navigation region. I created a region on my Page 0 so it will be visible on all pages.
But now when I run my page I get the following error:
ORA-00928: missing SELECT keyword
Error ERR-1108 Unable to process item current condition.
Also I noticed on the page that instead of admin| logout the page displays (nobody)| logout.
So I tried to logout and back in and I get the same error on my page 101 (login page).
this is very strange. I have no authorization scheme set yet. I even set the pages to public but that did not work.
Is there a work around?

If I remove the list from page 0 my pages run as expected.
The navigation list is composed of a main link RFP (directs to page 18) and two sub list items to related pages.

I the attach file you will find forfaits.fla which is connected to xml/forfaits.xml. The pb is the UI Component SROLL BAR for the textarea for the img description doesn't work .

I think you should connect it to a text area.
Just create a multiline dynamic text area, connect the text area to the xml file and use the toXMLString();
for example: myTxt.text = myXML.toXMLString();
and then attach the scroll bar to the dynamic multiline text area.

Track timing is lost when I change tempo

even though I follow the diretions to a "T", by selecting all, and the locking smpte position. Then I analyse the beat with the bpm counter. As soon as I enter that value into the transport bar tempo, regions move and the timing falls apart. Why Why Why does this not work when I follow the directions?

If you think not to provide the password for your End user then we can do that go into the "Manage Object" and Process->Database enter the password and Enable the option in :
When viewing report:
Use same database logon as when report is run.
For the first time you need to enter the logon credentials and enable the option and click on update.
It wont prompt for the password and it will not show password to your user's.
If you have problems with Original database logon , then try with Custom database logon and update the option.

All,
I want to get rid of the Welcome: #WELCOME_USER# stuff
I have a 0-page info of my own and that works fine. I stached it al in Htm Text souce (with shortcuts) in a Top Bar type region, which is just nice.
But the Apex welcome insert itself inthere aswell.
I did find some clues at Oracle APEX 4: #WELCOME_USER# substitution string but the clues did not find me.
My 0-page also has some centimeters of grey area, probably some region property, but I can't find where to format it.
I have a printscreen but apparently no rights to append pictures overhere, right?
Anybody to help me out? Much appreciated.

Edit page template and remove it.
