I make the upgrade to the last firmware but don´t works...
We need support for this modem because it’s very common in our market. The ISP Claro, Tigo and Telecom use this model Huawei E160 and that incompatibility makes SRP500 a very unpopular router.
Please, make a new upgrade to support and resolve this particular issue.
Regards,
Daniel.

Hi Daniel,
We have no immediate plans to integrate this modem with the SRP.

  • Problems with Vodafone/Huawei E220 wireless usb Modem

    Hi there,
My faithful Powerbook is having issues with a company issued Vodafone Vodem (Huawei E220 wireless HSDPA 3G USB modem).
It worked well at first, but then after restarting, waking from sleep or rebooting from off, the Vodem would cease to connect to Vodafone, with the Vodafone Modem Software giving me a cryptic message "No modem or data card attached".
Yesterday, I tried reinstalling and uninstalling the software, and after several installation/uninstallations, it finally reconnected. It has since stopped working again since shutting down the Powerbook overnight. Reinstalling has not yet worked.
I read somewhere on the net that leaving the modem plugged in for a minute before attempting to connect might work - alas no such luck.
Has anyone else out there had problems with their Vodafone/Huawei E220 USB wireless modem, and how did you resolve the problem?
I have tried both the New Zealand 2.07 version, plus the European 2.08 version of the Vodafone connectivity software.
    I am running a Powerbook 15", 1.67ghz, MacOS 10.4.11, 512MB, no other peripherals connected.

No experience, but what happens if you log out then back in?
Does a New User have that problem?

  • Problems with modem

Red internet LED light on technicolour TG582n home network gateway modem and unable to connect to internet

Last night I  used the online chat function to talk to someone at Bigpond/Telstra & she has helped in a huge way by helping me to change my line profile back to the Standard setting as having it set to Fast had made my connection way too unstable.
So far that seems to have fixed the problem completely & as an added bonus it seems to have also fixed the drop in speed issue a little with my speeds now up at 3.29Mbps (Down) 0.52Mbps (up) from Sydney To London mirror for the speedtest.net test.
So I recommend that anyone having stability issues with their ADSL have a chat via the online chat function to someone at Bigpond/Telstra & have them check what your line Profile is set on & have them put it on anything but the Fast setting. you may well find it will help solve your issues as well.
Thanks to all that made suggestions in not just this thread but others I had asked about things in. Also another bonus to talking to someone was the fact I am now also in the stages of upgrading my modem to take advantage of Telstra's NEW Telstra Air WiFi Service which should make things even better!

  • Problem with modems!

I am using Lenovo YogaPad 11 , Model Name: 2696 ; This is an awesome device to make life easier but few problems are paining me much like Itchmite. One of these problems is my IdeaPad can't connect to any modem that is available in my country wherease these modems can be used by other Laptops! If I insert a modem , it asks to download a relevant software from App Store , but the sorrow is these apps aren't available there. Therefore , I can't connect my IdeaPad to the modems! Is there any solution for me??

  • A problem with modem

if I'm having a computer and this computer's modem is connected to a telephone, I want to make the computer knows about the dialed numbers and the coming numbers and the duration.
can any body lead me to make this program?and is the javax.comm package useful in this case?

java communicates with the tcp card, whether the card is phyicaly connected to an other comuter or not is not part of java.

  • Tiger's problem with modems

My DSL line is down and will not be back up till thursday (so its been down about a week). So in the meantime I have been using the slow dialup modem.
However it seems that it takes longer to establish a connection and to disconnect than my old Mac did using an external Supra or Global Village serial port modem. There was a time when my only access to the net, or before that AOL was through a modem. These days since most are using broadband, perhaps Apple has not put out the same amount of effort in their dialup modems and software. Is this correct?
    John

    Hello John:
I have not used dial up in a long time so I have no frame of reference. If you are able to quantify the difference, perhaps someone would be able to respond.

  • Problem with Huawei E180 USB Mobile Modem

I have a little problem with my Huawei E180, that is causing only some inconvenience. If the modem is plugged in before turning on the power to the iMac, the Leopard doesn't boot up at all, just a blank white screen appears. After unplugging the modem and rebooting, there is no problems. There are no other problems with connections or anything, just this.
This is only annoying, but I would like to know if there is some way to solve this problem. Or is this just a thing to live with? I couldn't find anything about this kind of problems with Google, or from Huawei's support forum or anywhere else.
EDIT: I've been using Mac only for a month or so, so please be specific with answers.

Originally the Huawei is a Windows 2000 and Windows XP ONLY device, if you use Vodafone or Nova Media, they have their own custom made software which makes it mac compatible...
The Huawei E180 does not use OEM drivers, at least ones that would be included with Leopard hence it does not recognize the USB dongle at boot up. Plus remember that when Leopard finds a network it will want to connect and configure everything out first before booting. In the case of GSM / 3G modem you may have to enter your username & password and save it in the "keychain", etc...
The modems natively supported by Leopard are found here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1122
You will have to leave the Huawei E180 unplugged until you boot up into Leopard and then plug it in. Then Leopard will recognize and find the correct driver for it.

  • 3G BT Broadband Huawei Modem problem with Tecra M5 or XP

    Please can you help?
I have a Huawei E180 USB stick for accessing mobile broadband that was issued by British Telecom (BT). I want to use it with my Toshiba Tecra M5 (Model PTM 50E - 013013EN) laptop running XP Professional (SP3).
When inserted it is recognised by XP as a Huawei device but its pre-installed driver software does not autoload.
When I manually install the drivers downloaded seperately via BT connection manager software, I receive a generic/non specific Windows hardware conflict warning and the device will unfortunately not complete install and function.
I have spoken at length with BT support but despite sending me a replacement device and checking USB power supply the problem persists and they have been unable to help resolve the issue and have left the problem with me to try and resolve simply saying I must have a problem with my laptop!
As far as I am aware my Toshiba laptop and XP operating system have the latest released updates and other USB devices such as flash storage and WinTV tuners all work perfectly when installed so please can you advise what else I can try or what further information I can supply for you to assist me?
The device does install and work as expected in another Windows Vista Home Premium PC.

Eureka...Success thanks to Google and Huawei support.
Having run a Huawei diagnostic tool and displayed hidden devices in device manager, I discovered old Fusion and Globetrotter 3G/GPRS drivers were still installed despite having been removed by the add/remove software utility. So I finally uninstalled them from device manager.
This must have helped avoid any potential conflicts however, I think the main issue was missing usb.inf and usb.pnf files from windows\inf once I obtained them from another XP SP3 PC (a known good install) and put them in that folder, rebooted, reinstalled BT connection manager and rebooted again.
Then as soon as I inserted USB dongle it did everything it says on the tin!
So in the end a relatively simple fix in a matter of minutes....What a pity then since the end of July, I have had to sweat blood and tears myself, facing the wrath of 'the financial director' for wasting our money and my time, to eventually find a solution from Huawei (the manufacturer/supplier of the BT device) when BT Helpdesk could/should surely have got this answer quicker themselves and I bet this is a solution that many others will find resolves their problems as well. What a waste of hours and hours on the phone to BT Mobile Helpdesk.
Still a couple of minor glitches (do I really need 3 or 4 clients (2 at least from BT) trying to manage my wireless client?) and Desktop Help doesn't even support the 3G BT mobile device so why does it insist on trying to when I lose a signal?
Hey ho, rant mode over, the good news is I still have 4 or 5 days to use my 1GB 'free' allowance for this month. Finally, thanks to Tim Naish and Archibald Duffer on BT forum for their time and hope they find this solution of interest.

  • No internet, "PPPoE Server Not Found" message. Same problem with both old and new modems.

    Help please!
My internet connection with my old Westell 6100 modem was working fine, then quit all of the sudden and would not restart. The DSL and Data lights on the Westell modem were both green. The Internet light alternated between red and off.
I tried every troubleshooting thing I could think of:
Powering down and re-starting the modem and computer.
    Resetting the modem.
Checking all of the wire and jack connections.
I plugged my computer ethernet cable straight into the modem, bypassing my router.
I tried both Windows and Mac computers.
I plugged the modem directly into the network interface on the outside of my house to bypass all of my house wiring.
I checked all my phone jacks with a telephone tester to make sure both phone lines were working and not reverse-wired.
I made sure I did not have a DSL filter installed on the modem line.
Verizon Tech Support did a line test and told me the line was fine but that there might be a problem with either my modem or something at the "central office" (not sure what that means). Verizon also sent me a new router as well -- a D-Link DSL-2750B.
The new D-Link router also does not connect to the internet (same problem). The DSL, Data, and Internet lights are all green on the D-Link. I have the computer directly connected to the modem with a new ethernet cable. I repeated the above troubleshooting steps. I went into the router configuration 192.168.1.1 and ran the modem's "Internet Troubleshooting" tests.
There were two error messages on the router configuration screens:
1."PPPoE Server not found" error message is shown on the summary screen.
2."No internet infrastructure present. Please call your infrastructure provider." is shown in the "internet troubleshooting" test results.
Verizon had me change some settings inside the router configuration -- no dice. Verizon ran another line test. A "Level 2 Tech" took over the call and told me that he thinks that the cause of the problem is that the outside wiring coming to my house is reverse-wired. How can this be true since my DSL worked for 2 years before this, my phone line tester indicates my phone lines are wired the right way, and my router reports "PPPoE Server Not Found?"
Verizon is sending out a repair tech to check the outside wiring but I don't think that is the problem at all.
    HELP!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you're getting DSL sync (solid DSL light), this sounds like a case of a bad line card to me. I've seen it happen before where it wasn't an account or route issue to the network.

  • Possible internal modem problem with older iBook (Mac OS X 10.3.8)

I have an older iBook - from year 2000 or 2001. So its airport card is so old it's stopped reliably working & I don't know where I could find a replacement. In the meantime I want to get internet connection on it so I've tried plugging a phone cord from the wall outlet (that I always use succesfully for my desktop PC) into the laptop and typing in the phone #, account name and password of my desktop's internet account under "internal modem." BUT I keep getting a busy signal over & over when I dial up. I called my ISP & they thought it's a problem with my laptop's modem. I called Apple & they thought it's an issue with the ISP. Help?

    Hi,
So its airport card is so old it's stopped reliably working & I don't know where I could find a replacement.
If you have been using an internal wireless network, the router (base station) should (normally) allow you to connect via an Ethernet cable from the corresponding port in the iBook as well.
BUT I keep getting a busy signal over & over when I dial up
Without knowing any details, this seems to indicate that the modem does work. Wrong number/own number? Have you checked that everything has been entered correctly according to the instructions from the ISP?
Could KB article # 106748 possibly be of any help here?

  • Problem with 6120c Nokia Modem detection via Bluet...

    Hi!
There is a problem with Nokia 6120c bluetooth modem detection under Windows XP PS3. I used this phone as bluetooth modem for about a month without any problems (under Windows XP SP2). Than I’ve installed Service Pack 3 for my Win XP. About a week everything works great. A few days ago I’ve unplugged my USB Bluetooth 2.0 adapter and placed it to other USB port (on the same computer). After this operation my computer doesn’t find 6120c as a modem via bluetooth IN ANY USB PORT (Nokia Modem via Bluetooth shows as disconnected in the control panel). In the same time, Nokia file manager works normal through bluetooth connection. 6120c modem now works only via USB connection. I wonder, is this problem connected with SP3 or it is a Nokia 6120c firmware problem? I will be very grateful for your ideas concerning this problem.
    Sincerely, Andrey

Described above problem was fixed by OS reinstall. Bluetooth modem works fine for now (WinXP SP3).

  • Problem with USB modem

I have just bought a macbook with mac os X tiger. I have a problem with network configuration when I'd like to setup my broadband. I'm now using Tiscali broadband which supplied me a USB modem (Sagem Fast 800). I've already installed the software and driver. The problem appeared when I tried to configured the network setting. I couldn't find "external modem" or "ethernet adaptor" as the manual suggests. As a result, I couldn't make any interent connection. It'd be so grateful if anyone who's using tiscali broadband can kindly give me the solution for this.

    Hi,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I've looked in the network port configurations and found "Airport", "Bluetooth", "Biult-in Ethernet" and "Built-in Firewire". All of these are checked but I can't see the "external modem" port. I also rebooted the conputer after installing the software and driver. There is a software "ADSL Monitor" shown up in my desktop but can't see the device in the network configurations.

  • Intel iMac with Speedstream 5100 modem - problem with connection

I am running my internet/email using a Speedstream 5100 modem. My service is with SBC Yahoo (dsl line). My modem with stay up for a while and then at some point during the day decide not to work any more. I must turn it off and turn it back on (sometimes 3 or 4 times) to get it to work.
Is anyone else using this modem? Any problems with it? Should I call SBC and ask (or demand) a new modem???
    Thanks!

    rick,
Still having problems with my imac g4.
I called tech support today and I told them about all the problems that I was having. He had me put the current operating system disk that I was currently running on my computer and he had me run the utility file and nothing found.
Then he had me run the operating system disk that came with the computer but my computer froze up and I could not run it. He told me to take it in for service and that it was a hardware problem. After I hung up with the tech the computer started up and I ran the operating system disk and it said no problems with the hardware.
While the computer was still running,I got on the internet to go to the site that you listed above because I wanted to print a copy of the site to take with me tomorrow.
My computer froze up with 18 repeated lines of errors.
I will be taking it in for services tomorrow.
Will let you know what I find out.
