Srp521w voip ports with no wan connected

Hello.
I need some help. I am trying to connect my voice ports to my SIP server but is not working.
I have a lot of this same srp521 working all arround perfectly, except that they are connected to mpls via Wan.
In this new workaround, i want the router to act as a AP and to have those 2 voip ports working with the router connected just to the lan of my network, no wan connection, but it seems to be a problem on this that.
Is it possible to have the voip ports working on just with a lan connection?
Thanks, best regards.

Hi EveryoneI
created an etherchannel on two ports (2960 switch) and placed them into
an etherchannel.  Did the same on the other switch Cisco 3020 blade
chassis switch.  Without connecting any cables the 2960 had done an
up/down sequence as though a cable had been connected and yet this had
not been done.  Can someone try and help with what could be the
technical explanation of this interesting phenomena.  the etherchannel
was a trunk and the ports were sitting in vlan 200 and this vlan was
also configured as the native vlan for the trunk. Please,  please help - any comment is appreciated.Sydney
Hi Sydney,
It can be possible that speed and duplex setting between the switches are not in sync. Configure all interfaces in an EtherChannel to operate at the same speeds and duplex modes.Enable all interfaces in an EtherChannel. If you shut down an interface in an EtherChannel, it is treated as a link failure, and its traffic is transferred to one of the remaining interfaces in the EtherChannel.
For EtherChannels:
–Assign all interfaces in the EtherChannel to the same VLAN, or configure them as trunks.
–If you configure an EtherChannel from trunk interfaces, verify that the trunking mode (802.1Q) is the same on all the trunks. Inconsistent trunk modes on EtherChannel interfaces can have unexpected results.
–An EtherChannel supports the same allowed range of VLANs on all the interfaces in a trunking Layer 2
Hope to help

  • RV016 with 3 WAN Connections - Windows Messenger Intermittent problems.

I have a RV016 Router with 3 internet DSL conections.
    Firmware version : 3.0.0.1-tm (Jun 6 2008 20:17:06)
    LAN IP :  192.168.11.254  /24
    WAN1 IP :  192.168.1.253  /24
    WAN2 IP :  192.168.2.253  /24
    WAN3 IP : 192.168.3.253   /24
    MODE: Gateway.
Windows Messenger continually connects and disconnects. This behavior is permanent
I only have problems with Messengers (all releases), web page access is correct.
I check bandwith saturation and It's ok, I use less than 50% of each DSL.
I configured the correct size of MTU for each DSL and the problem continues.
Is there any way to set priority to this service?
Is there any way to check if the "load balance mode" affect this kind of connections?
    I appreciate any idea.

Changing the DSL connections to bridge mode is part one of the solution.  When they weren't in bridge mode, they were also acting as gateways/routers, probably also doing NAT.
Now that they are in bridge mode, the rv016 has control of the connections and the routing.  Now that it has control, you can make the appropriate changes.
I ran into a similar issue as yours when I had an rv082 at one of my businesses.  I had to access the state's web site to file sales taxes online.  But their system detected when my router used a different WAN connection than the one I logged in on, so it would kick me off each time the router used both WAN connections.  I could enable only one WAN connection each time I used their system (which would also work in your case with messenger), but that wasn't a real solution.
For you the solution will be a port trigger range.  (For me the solution was to bind that destination site to a WAN connection.)  Go to Setup-->Forwarding in the rv016 web management.  You will see a section for port triggering at the bottom.  Here's a link to a site that goes more into detail on the ports that need to have triggers on them:
    http://www.electrictoolbox.com/article/networking/open-firewall-msn-icq/
I don't have messenger setup, so I don't know the ports off-hand. This setup should allow any system connected (just as they are now) to properly use messenger.
Let me know if you need any more help.

  • Connect Flash to Serial Port with Local Socket Connection

    Hey all,
So, I am trying to connect a Flash movie to a serial port
and have it react to the input coming in. Of course, Flash does not
have this capability built in, so I need a workaround. I also
program in Director, and there are easier ways to deal with this
there, but since there hasn't been an update in years, and for
other technical reasons, I would like to use a pure Flash program.
I also need to take advantage of some of the new hardware
acceleration improvements and horizontal sync issues that come with
running the Flash player full screen. So, there are some tools out
there that will let me stream the input from the serial port to a
web address. I figure I could use the local address and assign a
port number, then use Flash to create a local socket connection. I
am having issues opening ports on my computer, and a few other
things, but in theory, I think it should work. I know that I won't
get all the answers here, but if anyone has done anything of the
sort, or might know of some similar projects, it would really help.
I am more of a Director/Flash programmer, and not so much one on
the system level. So, opening local sockets, etc, while I am sure I
can figure it out, is still a bit beyond me. Thanks all!
    - Bruce

You may want to look into flash remoting, which would allow
you to push content to the flash movie. You could then write a
proxy between the source of your stream and flash the remoting
    server.

  • RV016 port forwarding by WAN port?

    Hi,
I am replacing an ancient SOHO 90 series router with our new RV016, I was told this thing would do everything we needed which I didn't doubt, however, I am wondering if I made the wrong choice now.  We have 5 IP's on one line coming into the current router, that isn't an issue, if needed I can make 5 seperate drops with each IP, but, now we have several servers hosting services on the same ports.  For example 5.2 host a web server which is called to by the .250 address, 5.3 has one as well from .251, we have one on each of the 5, there are other servers too though on each of the 5 using the same ports.  When I go to port forwarding the only option is to forward the single port to a single server, can I not forward ports from each WAN connection to a different server?  Any help would be appreciated.
Here is a short sample from the old soho of what I want to do
ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.5.5 443 *.*.*.250 443 extendable

The multi-WAN feature of RV016 is designed for redundancy and load balancing, so basic port forwarding is not tied to a specific WAN port. If a LAN server is exposed to the internet by the 1-to-1 NAT feature of RV016, the server can be accessed by a specified public IP address.

  • Reports fail when running across a WAN connection

We have a remote site in Detroit that has excutables installed on local file server but connects to a database here in Memphis.  Since doing this, we are having issues running some reports from Detroit.  When we attempt to run the reports, we get an error "Failed to retrieve data from the database. Detail:  [Database Vendor Code:11]".  The database is SQL 2005.  The following facts are true:
    1. Certain reports will not run from production PCs in Detroit; these PC just have a Crytal 11.5 runtime installed.
    2. We can run the exact same report (same .rpt file) from production PCs in Memphis using the same paramters and it runs fine.  The PCs are configure the same as the ones in Detroit.
    3. We can run the exact same report from a development PC in Detroit (has Crystal 11.5 installed) and it runs fine.
Since some reports do run, it seems that the workstation is configured properly, and since the reports do run with no errors from PCs in Memphis, it seems that there is nothing wrong with the .rpt files, the data, or the database.  So, it seems to boil down to something with the WAN connection possibly.  I'm out of ideas at this point.  This issue really seems to make no sense, and any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Clint,
You should have a link to log a Message in Service Market Place ( SMP ). From there once the case is enter an Engineer will pick it up and give you a call to discuss.
313 is the original release and you should upgrade to at least SP4.
What you should do is install the SP4 update to your test machine first and then download and deploy the runtime using the same version of merge modules or MSI. Updating runtime without re-building your app is likely going cause issues. You should also test all this on a test machine first for the obvious reasons.
SP4 Merge modules are available, not available for SP 5 yet, they are working on getting them posted for download.
You did not say what technology ( report engine ) you are using, RDC or CR .NET assemblies?
It may also be due to different MDAC or MS SQL Server client installed. 2005 has a separate Client install now, previously MDAC was used to install the client, depends on which connection type you are using.
It may also be a table or database permission issue. MS SQL Server enhanced their security and fully support DB security. Try a different user to see if that works.
Also to clarify, a UDL file does NOT use ODBC unless you select Microsofts OLE DB for ODBC. Create a txt file and then rename the extension to udl. Double click the file and the OLE DB UI should pop up, then select MS SQL Server OLE DB Provider. Fill in the connection info and test it. This may explain why it's failing also.
    Thank you

  • RV180W loses port forwarding rules when switching WAN connections

We have a backup WAN connection in our office, but we switch this connection manually on our RV180W when the primary goes down. Our normal connection is ADSL with PPPoE, and the backup is Cable with DHCP.
However, we also have some port forwarding rules for our VoIP PBX (UDP port 5060) as well as SSH, and these rules seem to stop working completely when we switch our WAN connection to our cable connection. We can still surf the web from our workstations, but our incoming phone calls and SSH connections all cease to work completely. The problem does not persist after we've switched back to our normal ADSL connection.
This behaviour is completely bizarre and suggests that there's some kind of bug in the Cisco RV180W.

    helm,
I'm sorry, I wasn't clear which IP address renewal I am speaking about.
I believe that the problem is caused when the router renews the WHS's local IP address (192.168...). My WAN IP address remains unchanged througout the tests I performed and the problems I experienced.
The very act of changing the local clients' lease time in the router's configuration causes the forwarding to be lost immediately. (I am gusessing that when the lease time is changed, the router immediately renews the lease and begins a new countdown.)
(In fact, I might go as far as to say it is a bug in the firmware, but I haven't done enough testing to nail it down.)

  • RV042G fails to work with Public Wan IP when connected to Cisco SG300

Am using a RV042G with a Fiber Optic connection terminated on WAN1 It was working fine untill received a new IP pool . When we configure with the ip on wan 1 and connect the SG300 the WAN Status shows connected but no internet connection. The wan ip doesnt work. If i replace the RV042G with a Netgear Firewall router The connection works fine with the WAN IP.
The network connection is very simple. What is that is not letting RV042G work with SG300?

Hi Tom, Thanks for the reply.
Yes when I connect a computer directly to the RV042G it works fine but as I connect back the SG300 to one of the ports the Internet goes down.
The SG300 is not working on Layer 3.
I tried Different ports but the same result.
This RV042G was working fine with the fiber optic line, We just requested the ISP to increase the Public IP pool and they Gave us New IP's. Nothing changed Just set the WAN1 to one of the new IP and it fails to work if connected with the switch
I removed the switch and connected the RVS4000 directly to RV42G and the users of RVS4000 have no issues. Not a single thing has been changed Just the new IP On wan.
I have upgraded the router, rest  and configured internet settings i.e Changed wan IP but no go.
    Thanks Sachin

  • RV220W - port redirection/access rules with multiple WAN IPs

I've just installed a Cisco RV220W - which works fine for outbound traffic, however for inbound it seems unable to work with multiple WAN IPs.
We have a block of 6 WAN IPs assigned to us by our ISP, and I want to make use of all of them to expose certain ports on our servers to the outside world.
I've tried to do this with Access Rules (using HTTP as an example) with the following settings:
Connection Type: Inbound (WAN (Internet) > LAN (Local Network))
    Action: Always Allow
    Service: HTTP
    Source IP: Single Address
Start: <one of the WAN IPs>
Send to Local Server (DNAT IP): <IP of the internal server>
Use Other WAN (Internet) IP Address: disabled
    Rule Status: Enabled
    Yet the server/port remains inaccessible.
    I've tried:
rebooting the server with a power off/on again
implementing the same settings in port forwarding
triple-checking all IP addresses being used
The only way I've got it working is by changing the access rule so that it applies to any source address rather than one specific one...  however that's not a solution for us as we need to use specific IP addresses for specific internal servers/ports.
The router's admin interface certainly suggests this should be possible, however making use of it seems to break all incoming access!
    Any suggestions welcome.

You should be using "ANY" as the source IP, as you are publishing your internal server to the internet and internet means the request comes from any source IP (you don't know what it is, so it will be any.
Basically, you want any source IP to hit one of your WAN IPs on port 80, and then your firewall will redirect that request to the internal server's private IP address on same port 80. And when the response comes back from the internal server, the firewall will already have this translate entry in it so the reverse NAT will happen (you don't need configure this, it is default firewall feature).
I hope I have answered your question well.
Please mark as correct if you like the response.
    Thanks

  • Apple Airport Express Base Station 10/100BASE-T Ethernet WAN port with AirT

Hello fellow mac users, I am currently interested in getting the Apple Airport Express Base Station 10/100BASE-T Ethernet WAN port with AirTunes. However I already have a Linksys Wireless G with SpeedBooster router. Will the Airport Express with iTunes work with my router? Or will it work with any router? Thanks!
P.S. I want to get the Apple Airport Express Base Station 10/100BASE-T Ethernet WAN port with AirTunes
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Yes, it should be possible. Since your iMac is connected via Ethernet to another router, you would have to reconfigure which Network Service you will be using on the iMac to switch between streaming and connecting to the Internet.
For example, I am assuming that the Built-in Ethernet service is currently at the top of the Port Configurations 0list within System Preferences > Network > Show = Network Port Configurations when your iMac is connected to the other router by Ethernet. You would then need to drag the AirPort item to the top of the list, and then, connect to the AirPort Express to stream.
The other option to avoid this is to configure the AirPort Express to join the wireless network created by the 2Wire router.

  • Multi WAN connection Session with Online Banking loses the connection

    Hello,
I configured a new RV016 with ADSL ports and tested basicly the function. Everything seems to be working until one person discribed me an error while he tries to establish an online banking connection. After he enters the credentials and klick to OK, the step verifying should follow, an error message appears:
    In german:
Ihre InternetBanking-Sitzung wurde aus Sicherheitsgründen beendet.
    Folgende Gründe können vorliegen:
Sie haben zu lange keine Eingaben vorgenommen.
Ihre Internet-Verbindung wurde vorzeitig beendet. Dies kann durch zu niedrig eingestellte Zeitlimite
    bei DSL-Routern oder Internet-Verbindungs-Tools auftreten.
    In English
Your Internatbanking is due to security reason terminated.
You have not done any enties for a long time
Your Internet connection was terminated prematurely. This can happen if idle time configuration on the DSL router is set to low.
A friend of me who is Firewall specialist told me that the router with multi WAN Ports and configured with load balancing automatically has these kind of problems as the packages will forwarded through multiple WAN ports and the online banking understands it as disruption of the connection.
I set the keep connection to 5 sec and to the WAN Ports to intelegence balancer or IP groups (but not configured) , nothing solved the problem.
Can anybody give me some advises or help me to solve this problem?
    many thanks and best regards
    Nevzat

Sorry, but I have the exact same problem.  It is not a problem with Battlefield's servers as it is actually affecting all online games...and it is not affecting 15-20 neighbors who are FIOS customers.  When a neighbor hosts a game online, only my connection fails.  When I host a game, it fails for everyone.  When I am not in the party, nobody has a problem
I have FIOS connected to the router via coaxial cable.  I've had FIOS for 6 years without a single problem.  Then 1 month ago my kids reported that when playing Xbox Live they are "lagging out" and having to turn the xbox on/off.  The Xbox is connected via CAT5.  Also, when a laptop, iphone or ipad are connected via wifi, the connection is lost and a reboot of the device is required.  I did factory resets and every other suggested step to no avail.  Through it all, my desktop that is connected to the router via CAT5 experienced no problems.
I contacted VZ several times and they sent a new router.  Things looked better for 1 day, now it's actually worse.  The problems now affect the desktop's connection.  Sporadically, all internet connectivity is lost.  I then have to reboot the router.  However, after rebooting the router, any device trying to connect to the internet, via CAT5 or wifi, gets an "invalid IP address" type of error message.  I have screenshots at home which I'll add later.
Extremely frustrating, esp when contacting customer service as they go through the same script - reboot router, send a signal.  Factory reset modem, send a signal.  After that, they have no suggestions and simply try to get you off the line

I use a DSL to connect to the internet. The modem is a Westell C90-810030-06. Two things happened in connection with the fail. I upgraded the firmware in both my Time Capsule (connected to the DSL) and the Airport Extreme (connected to my printer--used to extend the network). I also upgraded my Colof Nook to the Android Faux Tablet version. I can't imagine that that is creating some sort of mismatch.
I have now downgraded the firmware on the Time Capsule to 7.4.1 which is what I had before. Fortunately, I found the trick to downloading the older airport utility to find the older firmware. All the older versions disappeared from my computers.
I still have the same problem. Wifi works fine. If a second device connects to the wifi, then it works fine, but the first no longer has a connection.
And my Airport Extreme is not working at all. It cannot be seen by the computer. I tried resetting it. I'm going to connect it by ethernet and downgrade the firmware on it.
I appreciate any help. This is so frustrating.

  • RV042 v4.2.2.08 problem connecting to ISP with WAN Connection Type PPTP

    Hi,
I have an issue with an RV042V3. It does not connect to my ISP with PPTP connection type and username 'comsulting/[email protected]' , pwd 6 digit alphanumeric.
Using the RVS4000 or the old RV082V2 with firmware 2.0.2.01-tm, the WAN PPTP connection works fine.
Unfortunately, the RV042 does not output any logging information about the PPTP dialin attempts to the ISP (if there are any).
Did anybody face the same issues?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi Jonathan,
thanks for the reply. I fear there is a misunderstanding.
I am not having troubles with the PPTP server functions of the RV042 but with the client functions.
My ISP services use PPTP to dialin to the internet instead of e.g. PPPoE.
This can be chosen in the WAN connection settings but does not seem to work!

    Richard

  • Unity Connection 1.2(1) which has SCCP ports with CallManager 8.5(1)SU1.

For 24 hours I’d like to run Unity Connection 1.2(1) which has SCCP ports with CallManager 8.5(1).  Unity Connection 1.2 isn’t supported anymore, we are migrating to Unity Connection 8.5(1) but I wanted to do CallManager 4x to 8x upgrade the first night, and Unity Connection 1.2 to 8.5 upgrade the second night. All new hardware so using DMA and COBRAS.
I'm not looking for it to be "Supported" just want it to work 24 hours while migrating...
Unity Connection 1.x Compatability Matrix will likely never show CallManager 8.5 since UC 1.x is EoL

The primary factor in the integration here for SCCP is the TSP version.  You can verify the version of TSP running on Unity Connection with the procedure noted here:  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/1x/release/notes/121sr2ucrn.html#wp37944
It's a Windows box so the procedure is the same as with standard Unity.  Check the properties of AvSkinny.tsp in the \Windows\System32\ folder path.
If you don't care about official support and it's only temporary then I'd say check to ensure that TSP is fairly recent and, if needed, upgrade to the latest release available for install on CUC 1.2(1).  Run a number and tests and make sure 1) things function as expected and 2) you don't get a load of TSP errors in the system/application logs.
Cisco notes that product support is based primarily on testing and since Unity Connection 1.2(1) is outdated and CUCM 8.5(1) is brand new, it's not likely that this combination will be tested anytime soon ... but the TSP compatibility between 8.0 and 8.5 is likely to be similar if not the same.
