SRP547W dropping ADSL every minute
We installed one of these devices as our gateway a couple of weeks ago, flashed the firmware to 1.2.4(003) and it worked perfectly until this morning where it keeps resetting the ADSL every minute and losing the web interface to the unit.
The log endlessly reports this:

Time capsule keeps dropping ethernet connection to BT Voyager every minute
I have just bought a 1TB TC to get the benefit of better wireless and the backup facility all in one. Previously I used a BT Voyager 2110 as ADSL modem and wireless router. I have set up the TC to connect from the WAN port to the LAN port on the BT router, put TC in bridge mode, and disabled wireless on the BT voyager. This means the BT Voyager does all the DCHP config and PPPoA, transmits this to the TC via ethernet and then TC broadcasts this on wireless. So far so good.
The TC works with this ok, but for whatever reason keeps losing the ethernet connection every minute or so. Literally almost flickering from amber light ('ethernet cable unplugged' for about 1-2 seconds) then back to green light sometimes several times a minute. This means I get no continuous or stable connection, e.g. for downloading/gaming online. The same happens if the BT router is in bridge mode and the TC configures the PPPoA itself - it has to 'renegotiate' every minute or so, which is very frustrating.
The ethernet cable is fine (I have tried two different cables), and each works with no problem if iMac is connected to TC (no internet though obviously), or if iMac is connected via LAN to the router for direct internet access - the network settings in system preferences shows no similar frequent loss of connection. The problem only seems to arise as between BT router and TC via ethernet. I have done resets of both the TC and the router, both are on the latest firmware updates as well so I am now at a loss. If anyone can help it would be really appreciated! Thanks.Hi there, thanks for your quick reply.
Well I'm not actually trying to get the TC to do that function, merely to wirelessly broadcast what has been negotiated by the BT Router. I.e. the router is not a bridge letting the TC do the work, but rather the router has all the settings and then this is just fed down the ethernet, just like it would be to a computer.
Connection settings have always been 'connect using' ethernet, and 'connection sharing' is off (bridge mode).
The thing is that this config clearly does work as I can get internet access, but I can't work out why the ethernet connection is dropped so frequently (and at all) which means I have no stable connection.
I have tried changing the router to PPPoE, which still gives me internet access but does not resolve the problem of the ethernet connection being dropped. -
I dropped my iphone 3gs in water and grabbed it immediately out. It gave me a charger not supported sign every minute or two. I decided to turn it off for the night and the next morning it worked fine and only the bottom sensor was triggered. Why does it still work and how long will it last?
Water in itself will not kill electronic components if you let it dry out. Your first reaction to turn it off was a good one but you could have waited even longer.
It also depends what's on your water that will stay after the water itself had dried; like salt. Anything that iseither acid or conductor left on the circuit board will reduce the life of the board. Given said this, no one could state how long your iPhone will work since no one will know for sure where the water had time to infiltrate before you removed your device and no one what's may left there.
Consider yourself lucky. I don't understand however what you mean by a sensor triggered. -
Hi,
I set up my Airport Extreme. However, my Vista laptop keeps dropping the wifi signal every minute or so and then reconnects to it. Any ideas?
It only seems to be my laptop that does this. My other laptop running XP and my mac does just fine.
Thanks,
-ChrisBY GOD THIS WORKS!

Holy - this thang has been driving me crazy. Like I would look at my watch and every sixty seconds there would be a cut out - precisely at the 60 second mark. But this little software download does the trick. Nothing but pure music - the way the artist INTENDED!
Thank you so much.
That said, the fact that someone has to write a fix for Vista - or for Apple for that matter - is discusting. I am sure they weren't paid for it!
But in any case - thank you - whoever built this little lagger thang. And happy listening to all those who get this to work also!

The wireless network works fine on my three other PC's (with windows 7) plus my girlfriends laptop (with windowds 7). I have Mac OS X 10.6.7 on my MBA and still the same problem. I even had a friend on visit today which have a MBP with OS X 10.6.6, he also experienced dropping out of my wifi, but not on the same way as me on the MBA.
Is it so that OS X don't work with certain routers? Or is it a production error on my MBA? Feels stupid to buy a new router just because I have bought an Apple product.
You should try connecting to the internet using a router other than yours. Take your MBA to an Apple retail store or somewhere where WiFi is available. Surf the net for a couple of minutes and if you don't experience any connection drop then the problem is probably with your router. -
Audio drops out for a ½ second about every minute
Hi There,
I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem. I have a 3 G with 3.0. When listening to Bluetooth audio through the SYNC system of my Ford Focus, the audio drops out for a ½ second about every minute. It does this persistently.
Any fixes? My 3GS seems to have an occasional dropout using A2DP with my Kenwood head unit, but I don't think it ever happened with my 3G (both running OS 3.0). It seems like some kind of a latency issue between the iphone and the head unit.

IPhone service dropping every minute
So I've been having this problem since last night. Every minute, my service will completely drop out and show "No Service" and then an instant later it will start searching, and then reconnect. I opened up my diagnostics and usage data log, and looked through the massive list of errors from today alone and each one says the same thing
deviceId: (i'll withhold this info)
isAnonymous: true
deviceConfigId: 101

profileId: 10127

metricCCAirplaneMode {
airplaneModeEnable: false
timestamp: 1325278144286
Now, I looked at prior error reports and there were similar ones, but right when this started happening, I saw the "metricCCAirplaneMode" section of that code come up, so could my phone be continuously trying to turn airplane mode on and off? And if so, how do I stop it? Would restoring from a backup fix?According to your information you have iOS 5.0.1, most likely build 9A405, running on your iPhone 4. Apple recently updated the build of iOS 5.0.1 to help with this issue. Restoring your iPhone using the most recent build of 5.0.1 (Build 9A406) should fix the problem.

Hi all
hope someone can help as i am coming to the end of my tether with my BT Faster Broadband connection
it drops out every few hours and has done for almost 2 months. i cant watch a movie or play a game without losing connection at least once, maybe twice if i am really unlucky.
i got a new hh5 a little while ago and was fine for a while. then the problems started - dropping 2 or 3 times a day. contacted bt and they sent a replacement hh5. no change. eventually in the last few days got worse and its now sometimes dropping at least a dozen times a day, rendering my connection little short of useless.
almost convinced it was a hh5 issue as they seemed to take an age to resynch, so bought an asus dsl-n66u and crossed my fingers.
soon enough, connection dropped again and again.
i have tried 3 different cables, between router and socket, removed the openreach faceplate and plugged a new filter in to the test socket. connected for around 4 hours and droped again.
Connection details from the Asus, with the filter in the master socket - the same as with the openreach filter (as you can see i lost connection again not so long ago.

Video and sound interupting every minute or so.
I am so aggrivated with my service. The picture and sound drop out and back on every minute or so. It happens so much it is impossible to watch television comfortably. I have tried using HDMI cale and have tried installing standard cabeling. I am still in my contract and need help. I sent emails to Verizon and got back generic emails. I have talked to friends around the country and they have the same problem. I can't believe that Verizon is so lax about doing something about this. People have the right to expect a better level of service than this especially for what the service costs every month. I would switch to directv but when I asked about that today I was only given the ability to change my programming within the FIOS service.
I'm having the same problem. I checked on other entries in the forum and apparently you have to change the feed from 1080i to 720p. That's not a very good solution though since Verizon advertises "crystal clear HD in full 1080i." There have been alot of other posts about this but nobody from Verizon has ever responded. Is there any word on this from Verizon on when they will fix this? I must say the problem is very frustrating and makes it almost impossible to watch TV without getting angry. I never had this problem with Comcast.
Again, Verizon, is there a solution to this problem that does not involve downgrading your HD feed? -
Broadband keeps dropping out - every 20 mins or so...
This is getting beyond a joke now so really hope someone can help fix this for me. The broadband started dropping out every 20 mins or so about 6 weeks ago and is just getting worse. Any moderators reading this - if I can't get it sorted I'm leaving BT.
Have read a few posts and I think this is the info I need to provide.
I have a Home Hub 3.
Speed test on the line gives download speed of 4.85Mbps and an IP profile of 5.87Mbps.
Upstream test gives 1.18Mbps and a Rate IP profile of 0.83Mbps
I performed the quiet line test and the line was perfectly quiet with no crackles or hisses.
The ADSL stats are below.
Anything anyone can do to help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Phil

Fan kicks quite loudly every minute on Satellite L30
Hi,
I'm using a Satellite L30 laptop. One thing I am finding annoying is that the fan kicks in quite loudly every minute or so, then quietens down for a while. Using a temperature monitor it looks like the fan kicks in when the temperature rises above about 50, then slows down as it falls. When the temperature is below 45 the fan stops altogether which causes the temperature to quickly rise back above 50.
I want to change the power management settings so that the fan stays on quitely at lower temperatures. I have a desktop computer where it is possible to change the fan settings in the BIOS, but I can't find anything like this on the laptop. Can anyone suggest where I should look - are there any open source or shareware tools which will do this?Maybe you should check this topic: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=18258
The trick:
1. You need in Power Saver the performance profile, that uses performance fan control.
2. You need to make another profile (for example called Silence). In this profile you need the optimized battery fan control, the other options doesnt matter.
3. Then, you must activate the performance profile, and wait, until the fan speed raises (begins to cool down the CPU). Meanwhile the fan speed is high, you must speedily switch to the silence profile (with the Fn+F2 combination you can choose, which you want).
4. And voila, the fan rolling remains on medium (not noisy) speed so long as you turn off or hibernate the computer, and the temperature drops to 40-50 degrees.
This trick works only if you use Windows XP, because Power Saver doesn't work under Vista. (I have Satellite L30-134, BIOS number is 2.60.)

Firefox keeps crashing at random times every minute or so, need help.
Firefox crashes pretty much every minute I browse the internet. Sometimes even if I just leave it there doing nothing. I've tried safe mode. I've tried disabling hardware accaleration. I've tried creating a new firefox profile. I've tried disabling flashplayer protected mode. Nothing worked so far. Oh and I can enter some websites through firefox for a shortwhile before it crashes but I've noticed that going to imdb.com and mozilla.org causes it to crash instantly don't know if it helps.
Here are the lat 5 crashes:

'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
* You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
