Hi Juan,
Thank you for participating in the Small Business support community. My name is Nico Muselle from Cisco Sofia SBSC.
The console cable is the cable that was delivered with the switch when you purchased it, it should be a normal serial cable. You have to connect using putty or hyperterminal with a speed of 38400 baud.
Then you log on to the console using your normal login and password. In the menu you will have the option to reset the switch to factory defaults. This will erase the startup configuration and set the switch back to it's standard configuration, the management vlan will be VLAN 1.
To learn how to connect through the console cable, you can take a look here and look for chapter 4. If you are not really sure on how to do it or you need any assistance, you can always contact your nearest Small Business Support Center, contact phone numbers can be found here
Hope this helps

Overheating?  Install a temperature monitor like iStat Pro, iStat Menus, Temperature Monitor, Hardware Monitor, etc. and see if you are overheating.
When was the last time you blew out the dust from inside your machine?
I don't understant the "unplug" statement.  Do yo mean just turn off?

  • Microsoft 2008 Problems?

Is anyone else having MS 2008 Problems with the Mac? I recently just downloaded it onto my computer and everytime I use it seems like it just freezes up on me within 5-10 minutes... I am using Leopard... Actually about to upgrade my OS to Snow Leopard, but if this is causing me trouble im about to move back to 2007 (for the mac of course...)

There is no Office 2007 for the Mac. There was 2004.
2008 is causing problems for people if they don't apply the latest Microsoft patches from http://www.microsoft.com/mac/ or if they have issues with fonts:
    http://www.jklstudios.com/misc/osxfonts.html
Or if there are other issues with background applications.
Snow Leopard upgrading should be done after you make your 2008 stable.

  • Windows Server 2008 Problems

    Development Platform:
    Visual Studio 2003 (VB)
Crystal Reports XI Developers Edition (Version 11.0.0.895)
    Developed on Windows XP (SP3)
Deployed (VB) Program Normally Runs Windows Server 2003 (No problems)
Problem: Cannot run on Windows Server 2008 (32 Bit nor 64 Bit Versions)
    THREE QUESTIONS:
Q1. Is the CR XI Dev Ed (11.0.0.895) the same as CR XI R1?
Q2. Is there a known conflict between this version and Windows Server 2008 ( either 32 Bit or 64 Bit)? If so, is there a fix?
Q3. There is a service pack (SP4) which is for CR XI R1. Does this apply to my version of Crystal Reports? Are there updated Merge Modules as well?
The program deploys to both versions of WS 2008 fine. However, it does not work on either. The errors are different. On the 64 bit version, a simple u201Ccannot access the file in c:\windows\tempu201D message. Permissions have been checked and are ok. On the 32 bit version, we get a 503 error (Service Unavailable) and the Internet Server gets u201Chungu201D and will not clear without a reboot of the machine, literally.
This is an updated question to an eariler post, which is unresolved. Many thanks to whoever can help.

    Hi David,
Q1. Is the CR XI Dev Ed (11.0.0.895) the same as CR XI R1?
    answer- Yes, both are same
Q2. Is there a known conflict between this version and Windows Server 2008 ( either 32 Bit or 64 Bit)? If so, is there a fix?
    Answer-
unfortunately my help is very limited in this scenario.
Please do not deploy CR XI to win2008 OS.
This OS is not tested and not supported with CR XI.
Please see a full list of supported OS [here|https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=00200797470000086718&_OBJECT=011000358700001092722008E]
Even the latest edition Reports [XI Release 2 u2013 Service Pack 4|https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=00200797470000086812&_OBJECT=011000358700001080932008E] is not supported for Win2008.
Q3. There is a service pack (SP4) which is for CR XI R1. Does this apply to my version of Crystal Reports? Are there updated Merge Modules as well?
Answer- Yes, that SP4 is for CR version 11.0 - to download click [here|http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/additional_downloads/service_packs/crystal_reports_en.asp#CRXIR1].
Latest merge modules for CR XI R1 SP4 can be downloaded from [here|http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/additional_downloads/runtime.asp#05]
    Hope that helps!!

  • SQL 2008 Problem Calling an SP on an Oracle 10G Linked Server

    Hi everyone
I've read through a number of posts on many sites about this issue but haven't found anything that has helped me so far. The machine I'm using is running Microsoft SQL Server 2008 64bit and the linked server I've created to Oracle 10G is using OraOLEDB.Oracle. If I test the connection in SQL Management Studio it succeeds and for any queries I have using OpenQuery to select from the Oracle DB I have no problem getting results.
The Oracle 32bit client and 64bit client versions are installed on the machine.
My problem is that I need to exec an Oracle SP which in turn inserts into various Oracle tables. I previously had this all working fine on 32bit SQL Server 2000 installation connected to Oracle 10G. Using the same code in SQL Server 2008 I get the following error:
    Msg 7357, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
    Cannot process the object "{CALL INTF.INTF_TW_PO_REQ_INTERFACE.MAIN(NULL, 15.000000, 0.000000, 'BLPO0099998', 'BLPO0099998', '', '', 39804, 21883, 'BLPO0099998', 249, 1, 950, 'Main', 190506, 37336, '1', TO_DATE( '20090706','YYYYMMDD' ), TO_DATE( '20090706','YYYYMMDD' ), 'INCOMPLETE',37336, {RESULTSET 1, P_Success})}". The OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "ORACLE" indicates that either the object has no columns or the current user does not have permissions on that object
The call is made by the following piece of code in SQL:
    SET @execCmd = N'SELECT
    P_Success
    FROM
    OPENQUERY( ORACLE, '''+ @oracleCmd + ''')';
    EXECUTE (@execCmd);
    Where @oracleCmd = {CALL INTF.INTF_TW_PO_REQ_INTERFACE.MAIN(NULL, 15.000000, 0.000000, ''BLPO0099998'', ''BLPO0099998'', '''', '''', 39804, 21883, ''BLPO0099998'', 249, 1, 950, ''Main'', 190506, 37336, ''1'', TO_DATE( ''20090706'',''YYYYMMDD'' ), TO_DATE( ''20090706'',''YYYYMMDD'' ), ''INCOMPLETE'',37336, {RESULTSET 1, P_Success})}
I also tried using the below snippet from another post I found and got no joy either.
    declare @result varchar(255)
    exec ('BEGIN
    ?:= your_SP_Name(''arg1'', ''arg2'', etc);
    END;
    ',@result OUTPUT) at your_LinkedServerName;
    select @result;
OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "ORACLE" returned message "ORA-06550: line 3, column 7:
PLS-00222: no function with name 'INTF_TW_PO_REQ_INTERFACE' exists in this scope
    ORA-06550: line 3, column 1:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored".
I can't figure out why it doesn't work in SQL 2008 when it worked fine in SQL 2000 - PLEASE HELP!
    Thank you
    Alida Hope

Why development on 10g and production on 8i? Either both should be 8i or both should be 10g.
If you will keep production on 8i and development on 10g then you cannot stop such errors as there are features that are enabled by default in 10g and both the versions have very big differences.
Just go ahead and install 8i.

  • MacBook Pro 2008 Problem

The screen of my MacBook Pro (early 2008) will no longer come on when the device is turned on.  I can hear the fan, but there are no other signs of life.

Sorry for your problem. Try this while booting hold down the command/option/p/r for three chimes, then continue start. If that does not help do a SMC reset- remove battery and power supply then hold down the power button for 10 seconds. If you cannot remove battery then do it this way-hold down command/option/shift while holding down power button for 10 seconds.Release and restart.  Question when you start up to black screen is the sleep light on? Have you installed any new operating systems. Some people are having this problem with yosemite.

  • Has anyone seen this MacBook Pro 15" 2008 problem before?

Hi. My MacBook Pro has developed a fault whereby a horizontal line appears on the screen, the mac freezes then a host of vertical lines gradually appear on the screen until it is obscured. Something similar happened in May last year and Apple charged me over £300 to repair it, replacing the 'mother board'.
I have so far taken it into the Apple shop twice in the last week (a two hour round trip). Both times they have opened it, cleaned it and declared it fixed. This time it lasted about an hour before happening again, although this time at least I've been able to restart it.
Has anyone seen this before, or have any advice about how best to proceed?
I have put a video of the symptoms here:
    20120915 135612 - YouTube
Thanks for reading. This is my first post so apologies if I've rambled a bit!
    Steve
    MacBook Pro 15", late 2008.

I wasn't notified that you asked me a question or that there was a new post on this topic. I should have been, that bugs me.
    Anyhow... Mr. Ah
The problem that some people, mostly with a certain video card, were having was when they updated from 10.5.4 to 10.5.5. For many of them the problem went away when they went through the hassle of reverting back to 10.5.4.
Did you +just recently+ update to 10.5.5? If you have, then their fix is for you too, going back to 10.5.4. If you have had 10.5.5 installed for a while now, and this just started happening, chances are good that it is your video card, or perhaps something affecting it like dust and dirt like DP says above.
If you have another start up drive, firewire or internal, and you had enough space on it you might consider installing a previous OS 10.5 on there and start up from it. If the problem went away you would know it's 10.5.5. Perhaps even if you started up from your OS disc the problem might go away and again you'd know it was 10.5.5. Apple was made aware of the problem on some machines and said they were going to come out with a fix, but I don't think they ever did.
Post back and say what the situation is, especially if you just recently updated to 10.5.5.
And post back with what kind of G5 you have, look in the "About this Mac" window.
Your card may be dying, but on the other hand it might be as easy as pulling it out, blowing it out, and putting the card back in again.

  • Srw.run_report problem with distribute=yes

srw.run_report distribute=yes is not working for me. When running the report in rwbuilder or using command line rwrun, the distribution works fine.
The problem is eg. a report on employee, with a group on Dept_no. Dept_no is used as distribution list &<dept_no> i the distriubution Dialog in the Report and repeat on G_dept.,
The report wil generate a number of reports e.g. Dept_no_10.pdf, Dept_no_20.pdf and so on.
BUT, the file name Dept_no_10.pdf is containing data from Dept 20, and the file name4d Dept_no_20.pdf contains data from Dept 20.
So the question is, if the report can distinguish the number of files to generate and the correct name, how come the data is corrupt ?
    Any ideas is wellcome.
Our installation is 11.2.0.2 and I'm using Reports 9.0.4.0.33.
The use of srw.run_report distribute=no is working fine.
The setup is to run from pl/sql calling srw.run_report
    claus
try for a better example at this link : https://technology.amis.nl/wp-content/uploads/images/Reports%20Bursting.pdf
This explains classic distribution/bursting of reports, and it works with rwbuilder/rwrun, bur not through srw.run_report

    Hello,
If you copy the parameters displayed by srw.message and create a BAT file with these parameters
    and rwrun60 :
    rwrun60 <the paremeters displayed by srw.message>
Does the report run correctly ?

  • Office 2008 Problems

I purchased my MacBook about a month ago. Over the past couple of weeks I have been noticing that whenever I use Word or Powerpoint my computer will slow down, the fan will get loud, and the computer gets hot. The past day or two my computer has been completely freezing up when I'm in Powerpoint. I made sure I have all of the updates downloaded and everything. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm not sure what to do...

I'm having a similar problem with Office X, but only with Word. Sometimes Word will just chew up my CPU and the fan kicks into high gear. I rebooted and even reinstalled the software but the problem persists.
Yesterday, I was editing a document and the document would occasionally "lock", that is, I would scroll up and down but nothing would happen until I clicked the mouse and then the document scrolled up and down, as if it were catching up with my keystrokes. It was very frustrating.
At times, I could delete text but couldn't add text without clicking somewhere else in the document and back again. Sometimes I would have to do a File -> Save before it would let me continue typing. It was as if it was always 1 keystroke behind or something, waiting for the previous "process" to finish before allowing me to proceed. All this time, of course, the CPU and fan are chugging away.
I fried my hard drive last week when my MacBook overheated and I'm sure Word was the culprit. I will not run Word without the Activity Monitor open and never leave Word the active window if I step away from my computer. Hiding it or putting another process in the foreground will reduce Word's CPU usage
I also had a footer that I couldn't delete. I had to copy the entire document into a new file and re-do the formatting, headers, and footers.
And here's another odd thing. When I launch Word, it shows up as "Microsoft Word" in the Activity Monitor, but just for a second, then the process name changes to "(null)". I can tell it's Word because it still has the Word icon next to it.
I was going to upgrade to Office 2004 or Office 2008 but it doesn't sound that that will solve the problem.

  • Mac pro 2008 problems

I'm having problems with my Mac Pro 2 x 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon ,early 2008 model. It still works fast enough for all my apps, running CS6. Issues are
Software hanging, pen drives not showing in the finder sometimes, issues with CD drive too. A ? over startup drive.
I'm constantly having to shut it down with the power button, and to reboot. It rarely restarts properly.
I'm on Yosemite, and can't update iphoto. I have intermitent problems with itunes, its not finding iphones when plugged in?
Is there a fix it that I can download from the internet to fix all these bugging issues, details of my system below. Help please?
    Model Name:    Mac Pro
    Model Identifier:    MacPro3,1
    Processor Name:    Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Processor Speed:    3.2 GHz
    Number of Processors:    2
    Total Number of Cores:    8
L2 Cache (per Processor):    12 MB
    Memory:    12 GB
    Bus Speed:    1.6 GHz
    Boot ROM Version:    MP31.006C.B05

Get a new system SSD boot drive. Do a clean install. Be careful what you import. SSD will give your system some juice.
Clone your system with Carbon Copy Cloner and enable the hidden advanced preference option - custom clone feature - to do a checksum on all files copied.
From your description, you should be doing both a SAFE BOOT and Recovery Mode to Repair Disk to fix the disk directory. Zap the PRAM from cold start and reset the STARTUP DISK setting.
I would not trust or rely on that drive and system as is for now.
Another, never use an unstable drive to install, or write to, should be using a backup spare system at this point.
Co clone it to SSD with CCC - after using DU and Safe Boot, and uninstalling any "non-essential" 3rd party app or background process and utilities. Lean, mean, stable and faster performance without the extras.
CS6: I would go for more RAM . FBDIMMs are downright affordable, look for NEMIX on Amazon while looking for Samsung 850 or Samsung XP941. Two: one for system, one for scratch, would be ideal. An EVGA 960 GTX to provide CUDA to CS6 maybe later or 970, more VRAM  the better.

  • Mac Pro Early 2008 problems with firewire 400 drives

I am having some sporadic problems with firewire 400 drives and am trying to figure out my best options going forward. System 10.5.2 has hung on me twice in the first week of use, and each time I noticed from console there were some problems accessing one or more of these drives (even though I wasn't doing any reads/writes to/from them). Just before one of the crashes, Disk Utility also had problems "seeing" these drives. My external firewire drives are:
    Maxtor OneTouch III 750GB
    Acomdata enclosure/Seagate 400GB
    LaCie d2/160GB
    LaCie w/Lightscribe DVD
I have this "cobbled" arrangement because I just upgraded from an eMac and needed these drives to manage video files, audio files, photos, etc. While I'd love to go out and buy new internals to install in my spare bays, and migrate the data to them, I will have to do that in stages as my budget is tapped out at the moment. My MacPro is the base version of the early 2008 units, with 300GB internal.
In the interim, is it worth troubleshooting firmware updates for these externals, or am I destined to continue to have firewire problems? Is there a straight-forward/inexpensive way to remove these drives from enclosures/install in drive bays with an adaptor? I believe the external hard drives are all ATA type drives.
Thanks in advance for any counsel.

I would assume that the Maxtor may be SATA. Does it have an eSATA port? Also, there were a lot of threads (in OS X Leopard forum) about those OneTouch units. Same can be said for LaCie problems.
Yes, check for firmware and configuration. In some cases, and what I do with any new OS, is to reformat all drives - gradually. Given the age of the eMac I'd guess firmware is out of date, and that the drives are formatted some time ago. While you don't have to use GUID, it is a good idea eventually, or just reformat a drive.
Don't forget to test your drives with Disk Warrior (4.1) also.
750GB WD Caviar is $139 SATA.

Are you using daisy chains? you have one FW bus shared by front and back ports. Do you have any on FW800 or using FW400 to FW800 adapter cable? PCI Express FW400 card might even help a little.
Never had trouble with OWC enclosures:

  • Downgrading from Lion on Intel iMac (2008) problems

After upgrading to Lion on our iMac (2008) [Intel Core 2 Duo], which had been originally running 10.6.8, we began experiencing lots of strange problems (intermittent crashes, freezing). On Saturday, the whole computer just shutdown and couldn't be restarted.
I attempted to install a new OS from a Snow Leopard CD purchased when we upgraded from the original software (10.5.2) by first building a new partition (Mac OS Journaled, GUID) and then installing Snow Leopard, but at the very end of the process, got an error message stating the installation failed.
I then went back to the original installation disks that came with the iMac (10.5.2) and did the same process and have been able to get Leopard running. From that point, I thought I could pop the Snow Leopard install CD in and do the upgrade, but got the same error message stating the installation failed.
I'm now back to installing the original OS again (10.5.2), but am unsure how to go about getting Snow Leopard to install. Do I need to go through the software updates to get it up to 10.5.8 before installing Snow Leopard, or has Lion just done some irreparable harm to the system.
At various points during this whole process, I've sometimes been able to boot from the CD from startup by pressing C, but sometimes that fails, and I have to hold down the option key. Sometimes that even fails, and I've had to clear the memory, and restart, going through various iterations just to get the Mac to see the CD.
Any advice on how to get from Leopard to Snow Leopard would be much appreciated. Before Lion was involved, there were no problems in the upgrade process, but now that I'm trying to rebuild, it seems like things are going massively awry.
Also, it seems like the specs on Lion indicate it should be stable on this type of machine, but clearly it isn't. I've read about some incompatabilities with graphics cards (we have a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS), but I don't know if this was the problem or not. If anyone knows what could have happened with the Lion issue, I would be curious about that too.

After "successfully" installing a version of 10.5.2 onto the iMac, I ran a Verify Permissions and received a long list of Open Error 5 problems, which could not be fixed using the Disk Utility on the Mac itself, nor with a downloaded copy of DiskWarrior. Also, when verifying the hard drive, there was an invalid sibling link error, and it stopped the verification process - there was no option to repair.
I'm a little confused because I started the clean install from the Disk Utility via the installation CD by building what I thought was a "clean" partition.
Is the next step to try and run disk utility from the install CD to try and fix these errors?
I now have a copy of Disk Warrior (downloaded) sitting on another machine and my Time Machine. I'm not sure how these could be useful in the rebuild process, but if so, please let me know.
    Thanks so much,
    Marie

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

    For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
