SSD errors on T430S

Hi All,
I have new SSD Kingmax 120Gb and try to install Win7, but have some problems:
Error in Windows install on screen where need to choose disk partition for installation – “Can’t install windows on disk 0 partition 1”. I don’t know how it message will be on English version, I use Russian. Win install on this step give me possible to delete all partitions from the disk and I can create new, but error message not disappear and installation freeze on this step…
Windows installation freeze after loading files (before screen from the p.1), notebook was turn on all night but installation don’t go to the next steps.
Message “2100: Detection error on HDD0 (Main HDD)” and after that windows installation can’t see any HDD in the step from p.1. Reboot sometimes solved this error, but installation was stopped due to p.2
What I try to do:
Format SSD with Acronis Boot CD – delete all partition and create one in NTFS.
Change memory – now I have 16Gb Kingston, but try install Win7 with 8Gb Samsung.
Try to install Win7 from DVD or USB flash and use different Windows images – same results.
Today I insert old HDD (not SSD) with Windows 7 and everything is OK – Win start without any errors and problems.
But I want to install SSD… Can you help me with my issues?

Just try win install to my old HDD and installation start without any problems...
Maybe my SSD is damaged and in this case I can't install windows?

  • Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error in T430S during HP printer install

I just bought a T430S Windows 8 and I'm having problems installing the software and drivers for my HP Photosmart D-110-a printer. I've owned the printer for a year and it was no problem installing the software that it came with on my previous Dell Windows 7. Every time I try to install from the CD-Rom or download the software from HP, I get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error message. Please someone help!
By the way, I am able to print to the machine because I think HP printer driver was preloaded on the Start screen from Lenovo. Is it possible the reason why I can't install the software that the my HP printer came with, is because HP driver was preloaded? The issue of not being able to install the full software, is that I can't monitor ink levels or scan items from the computer.

It looks to me like HP never made a windows8 driver for that printer. You might read this:

MacBook Pro OS x Mavericks. I have Sandisk 256GB SSD and I am getting a below error message.
ALERT: The partition map needs to be repaired because there's a problem with the EFI system partition's file system.
Does anyone know how to resolve this error and fix it ? unfortunately I don't have a Time Machine backup. Thanks!

Have you tried to run the verify/repair permissions and verify/repair disk through the recovery disk? If that didn't work then I would reinstall the OS after backing up. If that still doesn't work I would take it in.

  • Installing an SSD error repartition

    Hi,
I got an error while installing an SSD on my mid 2009. it says:
To install on this disk, open Disk utility by choosing utilities>disk utility>and repartition this disk using "GUID Partition Table".
I went to disk utility but I cannot see the option partition.

Make sure that you have the DISK and not the "named" disk selected in the sidebar:

  • Think Pad E450 - SSD ERROR CODE

Hi all, Just need some help with my laptop, it is only a month or so old, but today I recieved this error code: WHD00V001-UK7BRL Windows is telling me to back up my drive asap as it is critically failing, which is fine, but is my laptop dying? I am a uni student and need my laptop. Thanks for any help.

I had this with a Crucial M5M mSATA SSD, and the solution was to turn the machine off for 20 minutes with no battery and and no power connected, then try again.
The drive failed totally about 2 weeks later though.

  • Changing a ssd in a t430s

I got a 500g hdd which i am planning to change to a plextor m5p xtreme 128gb as a base drive.
However i am not sure whether, i need to remove the 16gb msata ssd cache or not.
Can i configure the msata as caching for the 500g hdd, which i am planning to use as a secondary drive?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You won't need to remove the caching SSD. The caching program will realize that you have an SSD as your main drive and stop caching to the mSATA SSD. You can verify this by running eccmd -info in a command prompt as an administrator (see this tread for reference: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-Edge-S-series/Twist-upgrade-to-SSD-from-HDD-how-to-disable-mSAT... ).
I'm not sure if it will automatically begin caching from the secondary drive, or if that will require reconfiguring the program. Again, eccmd -info will allow you to monitor the caching activty and should let you know if it is caching or not.

Any help appreciated as it is getting really irritating.

    I found prosiable solution.
Run untivirus or anything that scans your system, and while it runs film your screen using video recording device.  I used my phone. because scaner slowesdown the system your phone or video camera can capture the exact problem your system is trying to show. After freezing the video you will see your problem.
In my case there was a BlackBerry folder that system was trying to delete but wasn't able to. So I went to save mode and deleted it. and DONE.
It worked for me maybe it will work for you too.
    Good luck.

  • SSD rails for T430s and T420

I am not technical - let me state that up front
I recently bought 2 SSD SATAIII hard drives to put in a 430s and a 420.  The drives fit......but the rails that I have don't seem to fit once I apply the caddy around the new 7mm hard drive - now I'm looking for rails for these 2 drives - any help is much appreciated - an amazon link to what I need to ensure I get the right part would be ideal
    Thanks a lot

Skoop has  you headed in the right direction.  I'll add a couple of details.
Both of those laptops use a sort of internal carrier for the HDDs.  It wraps the drive and has a pair of rubber rails that fill the space between the carrier and the sides of the HDD slot.  You said that there were no drives.  Are the carriers also missing?  eBay may be your friend there.
Depending on the carrier used in the T420 you may need a spacer to make a 7mm drive fit properly.  Some SSDs come with a spacer.  I can't tell if that Intel drive does.
Here are the Hardware Maintenance Manual links.  You can see what the drive carriers look like.
    Hardware Maintenance Manual - ThinkPad T420, T420i
    Hardware Maintenance Manual
[edit] Just to add another wrinkle:  both of those laptops can take an mSATA SSD - if the slot isn't occupied already by a WWAN card.

  • GX740 SSD Error

Hi there people, in need of some help. Just purchased the M4 256GB SSD due to the fact that the Crucial Website said it was 100% Compatible with my GX740 and to my horror when connected it cant be seen in the BIOS nor can Windows see it if trying to install a new OS onto it. The only time it shows up is via the USB Sata Wire used for Cloning when logged into Windows on my old HDD.
Is there a way around this or have I just literally blown £150 down the drain.
All the help I can get will be very much appreciated, thanks.
    Lewis.

Check Crucial Website for a firmware update

  • T430 SCCM driver pack not importing

I got the T430 driver pack and while I am importing it gives me an error.
Error: Some driver package(s) are updated successfully. But some are not.

Error: Some driver package(s) are updated on distribution points successfully. But some are not.

Could be related to this Microsoft KB article / hotfix:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978754
At least some network drivers require that hotfix to be installed. The driver pack itself works fine, just imported it a couple of days ago into one SCCM 2007 SP2 system.

  • 440s errors and now BSOD

440s came preinstalled with win7Pro, used RDVD for win8Pro then updated to 8.1 Pro.
After initial install, was copying some files off old laptop and was planning to put on new one left 440s  on to find later it had restarted and had an issue with the HDD ( SSD) - error 2100: Detection error on HDD0 ( Main HDD), press esc to continue. Then day later it suggested it had a non genuine battery which would not charge properly. Then later same day started to blue screen whenever it was either hibernated( via shutdown menu) or put to sleep ( close lid) - suggests it due to SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (vwififlt.sys). Lodged ticket Monday for initial errors expecting lenovo to contact me to do diagnostics to confirm HW is OK, now Friday arvo they still have NOT contacted me despite numerous updates to the ticket giving as much info as I can. Anyone had similar issues?
Also ran all windows updates, Lenovo updates etc, 440 is fully patched in all respects.

    Hi Collew,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m really sorry to hear that your Lenovo ThinkPad T440s is having multiple issues.
If the machine started showing 2100: detection error on HDD0, try reseating the HDD and check. Also, try using the HDD with another system if possible and see if the error appears. This error comes up usually when Hard disk drive is failing. If there is any critical data in your HDD, I would suggest you to take a backup at the earliest.
Regarding the battery not genuine message, try updating the BIOS and power management driver. Install Lenovo settings dependency package and check if the issue gets fixed.
BSOD seems to occur due to vwififlt.sys (Windows Virtual Wi-Fi Filter Driver). I would suggest you to reinstall the Wi- Fi drivers completely from device manager, reinstall and check if BSOD occurs.
    Best regards,
    Mithun.

At the moment, I doubt that Core Storage requires anything special at the drive firmware level.
Consider the screenshot at http://apple.stackexchange.com/a/60661/8546 – that's the result of Core Storage encryption, error-free conversion forward of a logical volume:

28 SAN Disks shared to each of the M5000's (to be able to move zones between each M5000 with minimal effort)

I'm running Zabbix to graph the many kstat output.  The one I'm having issues with is the "ssderr::::/Illegal Request/"
In zabbix I graph this data on this particular error:
      kstat -c device_error -p "ssderr:::/Illegal Request/"
    Each ssd has 8 paths.
Each ssd error "Illegal Request" count goes up hourly, about ~224 "Illegal Requests" every 60 minutes (all at once, over a minute or two time-frame), like an hourly cron job, but there's no correlating cron/smoking gun, on either server.
Is there some default background daemon that deals with SAN triggered events I'm overlooking?  There is no cron in root or other that matches these errors.
dmesg is void of error messages since the PLOGI issue was resolved.
Has anyone come across this issue.

    Edit: more info
    28 San Disks, each with 8 paths (= 224)
On the 30 minute mark (224 "Illegal Request"), so something is checking each path, and I'm trying to determine what it is.  I'm running all root crons while monitoring kstat in real time, all errors happen over 10 to 15 seconds time period.  No cron correlates.

2 x M5000 (both have exact same issue as described below)
    Hitachi VSP Storage
    Brocade Switches in between.
Storage has configured so we see 8 paths to each SAN Disk (which solved the PLOGI errors)
28 SAN Disks shared to each of the M5000's (to be able to move zones between each M5000 with minimal effort)
A SAN disk in use on one, is not in use on the other, obviously .
    Software:
    Solaris 11.2 (sparc)
    Multipathing enabled to each disk
    ZFS File systems.
    5 zones/containers per
    Issue:
I'm running Zabbix to graph the many kstat output.  The one I'm having issues with is the "ssderr::::/Illegal Request/"
In zabbix I graph this data on this particular error:
      kstat -c device_error -p "ssderr:::/Illegal Request/"
    Rick
    Edit: more info
    28 San Disks, each with 8 paths (= 224)
