SSD Q series - NTI Echo installation problem

Hi,
I've just downloaded "NTI_Echo_3.0.3.73s_Full_Version_for_Toshiba"  from  http://www.toshibastorage.com/SSDKit/  for my 256GB SSD Drive (PN HDTS325XZSTA) and the installation process says that my serial number is invalid and does not proceed.
Please help me, I need to replace my HDD.
Thanks in advance
Elbe

Had the same problem... it's the NTI Echo S/N they want, NOT the Toshiba SSD Drive S/N.  The number you need is in the confirming email you received along with the NTI Echo Download link!   Cost me hours of frustration for not noticing that at first!!
Sorry no one posted the answer here earlier.

  • Intel SSD 320 Series Unreliability, Intel or OSX Lion at fault?

    Hi,
    I have been using the Intel SSD 320 Series 160Gb SSD in a Quad Core iMac for a couple of months.
    Its was running fine all through the Lion Beta program, but Monday evening, my iMac with OSX Lion locked up and I had to power off the system (that never happens to my Mac normally).
    On rebooting, I got the flashing folder with a question mark, signifying no devices with a valid OS were detected
    The following morning, I had to replace the SSD with a 1TB platter drive and restore my system (thank god for Time Machine).
    Disk Utility repoerts the SSD as 8.4Mb in size (no, thats not a typo) and thinks the drive is unformatted.
    This is very disappointing, so much for hoping SSD would be more reliable than mechanical drives
    I loved the speed of the SSD, but this type of failure whether its Intel's fault or OSX causing this catestrophic failure I am still unsure, but either way its totally un-acceptable and has made me wary of wanting to try again with SSD!
    D.

    To help future users searching, I have an update.
    This appears to be a bug in the Intel 320 Series SSD drives which Intel have acknowledged.
    I applaud them for owning up to the problem, but I am furious they let a product of this type get to market with a serious bug like this in the first place!!
    If anyone is using one of these drives I suggest you make sure your Time Machine backups are running fine and are up-to-date and constantly check out the link below for a firmware update that at the time of writing has still not materialised.
    Rest assured, you have a ticking time bomb on your hands!

  • Intel SSD 320 Series 8 MB Bug neue Firmware?

    Hallo,
    http://support.lenovo.com/in/hi/documents/ht074473
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T420-SSD-8MB-Error-on-Current-4PC1LE04-Firm...
    Ich habe schon den telefonischen Lenovo Support angerufen, aber die konnten mir nicht weiter helfen.
    Wo bekomme ich jetzt die neue Firmware LE06 her?
    SSD Modell: SSDSA2BW160G3L
    Notebook: T420s

  • K9N2 Diamond - bios does not recognise Intel SSD 520 series

    Hi,
    I have a K9N2 Diamond motherboard and BIOS v2.7. I recently bought an Intel SSD 520 Series and when I connect it, the BIOS does not recognise the HDD at all. When I try to install Windows 7, the HDD is shown at the list, but it says that I can not install Windows at the HDD.
    I have tried to connect the HDD at SATA port 5 and 6 and set the RAID mode to ACHI and also at ports 1 and 2 and set the RAID mode to IDE. Nothing works.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    George

    .and does the problem appears using the HDD which was equipped in this notebook?
    If the BSOD would not appear using the HDD, then a problem is realalted to the inserted SSD drive.
    In many cases firmware updates are released for SSD drives and in some cases this might be a solution.

    That is the point of a beta version.
    Software in the beta phase will generally have many more bugs in it than completed software, as well as speed/performance issues. The focus of beta testing is reducing impacts to users, often incorporating usability testing. "

    I'm possibly wrong here but I suspect opening a brand new MBP to add parts yourself will void the warranty.  It is probably in the small print.  I certainly would not risk it for an expensive Apple product.
    Some (Windows) laptops have easy access to memory and disk slots that do not necessitate taking the complete back cover off.  However, Apple does not make life easy for you.
    However, if you are going for a 'used' machine it is probably worth a try.
    Not possibly, definitely wrong, Ram and Hard Drive are considered user replaceable and will not void the warranty if changed.

  • AS Rock Z77E-ITX + Intel SSD 330 Series segfaults under load

    Hi,
    I just finsihed installing a new system with an AS Rock Z77E-ITX mini ITX mother board (Intel Z77) and an Intel 330 Series 120GB SSD.
    The setup is EFI+GPT+LUKS+LVM+EXT4 and it segfaults if I put heavy io load on the SSD.
    I have tried to remove as many components as I can and it still segfaults in the same way.
    So to reproduce it a simple as possible I run bonnie++ on an empty ext2 partition (which I guess is mounted using the ext4 subsystem):
    $ mkfs.ext2 /dev/sda2
    $ mount /dev/sda2 /mnt
    $ bonnie++ -f -d /mnt
    Writing intelligently...Segmentation fault
    and at the same time..
    $ journal -f

    I'm guessing its either a bug in the ext4 sub system, problems with the mb/hd-controller, problems with the SSD or a combo
    Any suggestions are super welcome.

    I just tried with the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS server installer iso image. I could not see the dmesg output but the system froze hard after a minute of writing to the SSD with dd. I guess I should return the SSD and try with a new one. Is it common that a faulty SSD takes down the system? Feels sloppy.

  • G510 audio driver installation problem on Windows 8.1

    I've just received my brand new Lenovo G510 and installed Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit onto it.
    Most of the drivers from the attached CD installed without any problems (though I was quite surprised that no newer versions were available on the Support wrbpage) but I can't install audio driver.
    Apparently this series is equipped in either Conexant or Realtek audio chips and the provided setup application is desigend to detect the correct chip and run the appropriate driver installation program.
    The problem is that setup is not working for me. All I receive is the notification "This utility can not be used on this machine". Since there are no "orphan" audio devices in the Device Manager, I can't really tell which audio chipset is installed in my machine. I don't want to install both dirvers as it may just cause confilcts.
    How can I say which audio chipset is installed and install the correct driver?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    hi mikolajek,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
    Under Device manager
      You should look for your Audio
    Normally it stays under Sound and gaming controller,
       And if no driver is installed in shows as High Definition Audio
    Right click on it and select Properties
         Go to the Details TAB
    change the Value to Hardware ID then check the details
    ex. PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&SUBSYS_051014E4&REV_01
    Get the 4 digit after VEN and DEV
    Ven is the Vendor and Devi is the Device
    Go to PCI database and do a search for the VEN
    Then search for the DEV and youll know that device

  • Early 2013 Macbook Pro Retina 2.7 i7 512GB SSD and 16gb Ram with Serious Cuda Problems! Trying to teach Apple their Macbook Pro Retina isn't a Pro Jan. 11. 2015.

    Apple replaced the logic board, wiped the computer, did a fresh instal of the OS, and also a fresh instal of all the programs during the beginning of 2015. The GeekBench scores are the highest of any of the similar computers (at least on the day of my testing). But here's what's happening. The Macbook Pro Retina has a GeForce GT 650m with Cuda Technology and it can't handle editing in Premiere Pro with Cuda Acceleration turned on. Open CL, a second form of graphic acceleration on the Macbook Pro, appears to be functioning properly.
    At the Apple Store on 1-10-2015, I was told that since the logic board and the graphic cards have been replaced that there is nothing they can do and they recommend contacting Corporate. This comes after they told me to buy a new logic board and that that would solve the problem. This comes after Apple did not listen, for over a month, about the possibility that they didn't properly build a professional notebook computer.
    The computer displays a black program monitor screen, at random times, when the user edits footage with Cuda Acceleration enabled. It used to lead to an entire system crash and/or a Premiere Pro crash before the operating system was completely re-installed. My solution, since I bought the computer, was to edit in Open CL... However, I've come to learn that there is a major difference in performance between Open CL and Cuda Acceleration.
    For the Macbook Pro Retina, Adobe Media Encoder render times are about 20% faster with Cuda Acceleration than Open CL. The 2013 Macbook Pro Retina appears to be able to handle Cuda Acceleration in Media Encoder, but I have had a number of issues leading to program crashes on every project before the new logic board and operating system were installed. For over a year and a half, I actually never used Cuda Acceleration. Having sent every crash report and user data to Apple over that time, I truly expected an update of some sorts and it never came.
    FYI: The latest Macbook Pro Retina uses the GeForce GT 750m... This is essentially the same graphic card that performs about 10 - 20% faster due to a new "boost mode." More importantly, it actually has the exact same number of Cuda cores. Having the same number of Cuda Cores means that the Cuda Acceleration is essentially the same when exporting or viewing video. To prove a point to Apple that their 2013 Macbook Pro Retina isn't functioning properly, I bought the latest computer with the 2.5 i7, 16gb Ram, 512gb SSD and I can honestly say that the 2014 model works perfectly fine with Cuda Acceleration turned on while editing in Premiere. I can also say that a proper render test proved the 2013 and 2014 model to be the exact same.
    I'm new to this whole pay $2700 for a computer that your manufacturer didn't / can't test properly, so I will be contacting Apple and speaking with Senior Advisors, their Customer Support division, and will soon speak with their Corporate branch. I'm confident that the Early 2013 Macbook Pro Retina with a 2.7 i7 16gb Ram and a 512 SSD is nearly the same at rendering video and editing video, provided the Cuda Acceleration works, as their latest 2014 Macbook Pro Retina with the 2.5 i7 processor 16gb Ram, and a 512 SSD. It's truly a great computer and a great build, minus their current inability to properly test / diagnose their computer.
    Knowing that the latest graphic card in the Macbook Pro lineup is essentially the same model, I feel that Apple is not directly looking into the viability and life span of their current Macbook Pro Retina product line. They can't test for performance issues relating to their graphic cards, so why consider buying from them when the end user is actually in a position to experience up to a 20% decrease in certain professional programs.
    For future reference, I'd strongly urge other individuals to avoid purchasing Apple products if they offer Cuda Technology. In my opinion, Apple is an Open CL organization, at best, who is not responsibly manufacturing / producing computers that fit their organization's strengths. For a fact, they can't test their Cuda Technology and won't even attempt to address Cuda Acceleration errors for Apple owners (01-11-2015). I say this having walked out of the Apple Store on 1-10-2015 with virtually no support other than to contact Corporate.

    Looks like a RAM issue.

  • Multifunction E series DAQmx AI and DO problem

    Using PCI 6024E board I would like to use DAQmx to: Continuously acquire and stream to disk AI channels, and trigger a DO channel on and off using an analog input. For the DO, I need a user-adjustable delay from when the trigger is activated by AI until the DO is written high. I cannot seem to synchronize the AI and DO, and I do not know how to build a delay into a combined AI and DO While Loop. Could someone please help me, I can correspond by phone or email if needed. Thank you, matt stewart, [email protected]

    How about using the CO pulse function? I almost got this to work, but it failed. I absolutely need to have a delay from trigger to CO output. The initial delay control does not seem to reset when the trigger is set to "retriggerable" using a property node.
    The CO is a work around, for the DO problem. All I really need is a TTL pulse out, say 5 msec or so. The duration does not need to be adjusted. Does anyone know how to configure the pulse settings so that there is a consistent, user adjustable delay prior to counter pulse generation?
    Thanks for your response, and the info about the M series. Unfortunately, I have an urgent need for a functional vi within a day or two.

  • HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw; Wireless Driver installation problem in Win 8.1

    Product name : HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw, product nr CZ173A
    US Operating system: Dual Boot:   Win Vista home premium (32 bit) / Win 8.1 pro (32 bit)
    The printer was installed under Vista in September 2014 and was and still is wireless printing and scanning without a problem.
    Recently I tried to install the printer (wireless) under Win 8.1 and I downloaded the latest Full Feature software from HP.nl.
    During installation the software installation package could not find the printer and installation was aborted.
    I ran the printer self test / Configuration. The network Info and product info sheets were without  errors. A ping to the IP address of the printer was without a loss. The firewall indicated that HP software is accepted.
    Off course I read everything on HP about this problem I followed every advice and repeatedly gave it a try. I even installed the usb cable solution ( USB was working ok) followed by your change connection instructions, but all in vain.
    To my surprise HP was able to find my printer when I checked on http:// www.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpsupport/index.pl. However the printer was found in my local network as a HP Laserjet Pro M1132 multifunctional printer with product nr stars 3NW-01 which is not correct, however the found serie nr. of CNB7G3RC78 was correct.
    The print and scan doctor made some changes to the software and after that I was able to print wirelessly, however the Scan doctor button did not react at all and using the program was not possible further. Starting the program again gave the same result.
    Conclusion:       In Vista: HP wireless print and HP wireless Scan is working fine
                            In Win 8.1: HP wireless print is OK, HP wireless Scan cannot be installed !????
                            In Win 8.1: Windows Printer driver and Win Fax& Scan driver both wireless working ok
    Remark: Reading the display is difficult in dim lit areas. The on / off button is brightly lit and this light should be used to enlighten the display instead.
    A solution for the scanning problem would be appreciated.
    Kind regards

    Hi @JWAH , and welcome to the HP Forums!
    I understand you're experiencing driver issues. I'd like to help!
    I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
    Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
    Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125/126 Series Full Software and Drivers.
    Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • A Series of Unfortunate Audio Related Problems

    I'm having a whole series of issues playing wav's. I've tried 3 methods. The Applet.newAudioClip() method, the javax.sound.sampled.Clip method (Using AudioInputStream and AudioSystem,), and JMF Player.
    I've attempted to "cache" the objects by either creating an AudioClip, Clip, or Player, and storing them in a Hashtable for future use.
    In the code samples below have omitted the Hashtable parts of it, and still have the same problems.
    The application allows for the user to create a "list" of media / text for the subject to observe and possibly react to. So, this list consists of sounds, movies, images, or text. Something of a playlist. The task I'm having difficulty with is the "tones" task, where we have a series of tones in wav files that are selected randomly for playing over a period of time.
    Using JMF, all sounds play, but when I try to re-play the same sound again, there is a 3-5 second delay. If I could restart a Player w/o the delay, that would solve my problem.
              try {
                  File soundFile = new File("sav/audio/B.wav");
                   Player player = Manager.createRealizedPlayer(soundFile.toURL());
                   for(int x = 0; x < 5; x++) {
                        System.out.println(x);
                        player.start();
                        try { Thread.sleep(1000); } catch(InterruptedException e) {}
                        player.stop();
                        player.setMediaTime(new javax.media.Time(0));
                   player.close();
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              }Using the javax.sound method and the Applet method the files play inconsistently. Sometimes the magic works and sometimes it doesn't.
    Applet method
              try {
                  File soundFile = new File("sav/audio/V.wav");
                   AudioClip audioClip = Applet.newAudioClip(soundFile.toURL());
                   audioClip.play();
                   try { Thread.sleep(1000); } catch(InterruptedException e) {}
              } catch(Exception e) {}javax.sound method
             try{
                  File soundFile = new File("sav/audio/V.wav");
                  AudioInputStream stream = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(soundFile);
                 AudioFormat format = stream.getFormat();
                 DataLine.Info info = new DataLine.Info(Clip.class, stream.getFormat(),
                  ((int)stream.getFrameLength()*format.getFrameSize()));
                 Clip clip = (Clip) AudioSystem.getLine(info);
                 clip.open(stream);
                 clip.start();
              try { Thread.sleep(1000); } catch(Exception e) {}
             } catch (Exception e){
                 e.printStackTrace();
             }So at this point I'm stuck between having the wav's play inconsistently, or with a substantial delay.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Well, problem solved. I see no one else here was willing to take a crack at this problem, so I assume no one knew the answer. So, here it is.
    THE BLOODY 1.5 UPGRADE BREAKS THE PLAYING OF WAV'S UNDER 20K. FOR TWO DAYS I BROWSED THESE FORUMS, RE-WROTE MY CODE, AND BEAT THE HELL OUT OF MY DESK.
    So, now I've re-installed 1.4.2, and all is well. Except that the Java updater started by immediately telling me I should upgrade to 1.5. Not gonna happen anytime soon.
    Here's the bug report for anyone interested.

    It claims it's fixed, but not in the release I had.

  • Installing a SSD Samsung 830 Drive on my 520 - Problem with Recovery partition

    Hello,
    I am installing a 128GB Samsung 830 SSD on the W520, and i've put the original 50GB HDD on a HDD bay replacing the DVD/CD. bay.
    I did a system recovery on the HDD, to put it on its original states. Then I used Acronis True Image HD to clone the HDD to the SSD. I have the main partition on the SSD along with the Lenovo_recovery partition. I then install the SSD on the HD slot, and start the PC. No problem till there. It starts, and the machine works fine.
    I then do a system recovery from the HDD, and the recovery process goes to the end, but when the system restarts, I have a crash and it asks me to introduce the windows recovery disk. But I cannot starts anything anymore.
    If I reinstall the 500GB HDD, it start no problem.
    Any idea? Thank you for your help!

    Really? Then how did you get the Samsung SSD in there to begin with. Look, you got two choices here: 1. Return the SSD for a refund, or 2. Find a Windoes PC & update the firmware.
    Why you'd purchase an SSD, to use in a Mac, whose firmware can only be updated using a Windows computer, makes no sense to me.

  • How can I fix Intel 5 series/3400 USB driver installation problem?

    I am using Boot Camp to install Windows 7 64 bit on an iMac (mid 2010). After Windows and Apple Windows drivers are installed, I get an error message about the Intel 5 series/3400 Series Chipset Family USB Universal Host controller 3B3B failing to install. Reinstalling the driver does not work. I get the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark on the computer icon in the list of devices, indicating there is a problem.
    I searched for this problem on the Apple website. I found info about this exact issue with the MacBook Pro, (mid 2010), Windows 7 64 bit and Boot Camp. The article said to ignore it, that this wouldn't be a problem. Would this also not be a problem for my iMac?
    Any comments or suggestions?
    thanks, Kevin
