SSH help needed - totally lost
I'm trying to generate an SSH key and copy it to my web host.
I've done the following:
in terminal ssh-keygen
saved it to /users/me/.ssh/id_rsa
Here is where I'm lost - in my web host control panel I'm supposed to upload the key. But where the heck is that directory on my computer? I cannot find anything named .ssh or ssh or id_rsa or anything. I don't know what to do to make this work.
Please help!!!

The .ssh directory you're using there is not visible in the Finder. Hit command-shift-G and type the full path to it, or use an FTP client which lets you browse hidden files.

Help needed! - Lost firewire on Audigy c
Hi there,
I've been running an early Audigy PCI card on a 200 Athelon (OS is XP Pro) in the lounge as a home theatre system for some time.
The firewire port has always functioned properly. I use is a lot to connect other dri'ves, etc.
I'm not sure of the circumstances of when it ceased to work or what may have triggered it, but although it's seen in hardware as being AOK, whenever i plug a dri've or burner in, it just will not trigger and show the device.
The external firewire cages and dri'ves show up fine on my other computer.
Both have XP SP2 on them.
I've just caught a hint searching Google, that there may have been a problem with this cards firewire and SP2, but i'm not sure if that's really the problem.
Some guidance or means of testing would be really appreciated.

Totally lost about N95 GPS. Help!
Hi. I just recently bought a N95 and I know nuts about the GPS thing. When I open maps, I see this picture of a globe with a small icon of a satellite with a cross on it (I presume I am not connected to it). When i view satellite info, I am able to pick something up.
When I rotate the globe and then press the GPS pos button, it focuses on Europe which Im not at (not zoom in).
Btw, Im from Singapore and im using Starhub network.

Firstly if you are using v12.0.013 or later software on your N95 it is a lot quicker to obtain fix with A-GPS feature, although an active connection via WLAN or Network is needed.
Go outside away from buildings and tress with clear view of sky. Open slider and hold phone at 45degrees, don't cover "#" key as GPS antenna beneath it. Low cloud or rain will make satellite acquisition a lot longer.
If you go to Menu > Tools > GPS data > (searching for + calculating data) > Position > Options > Satellite status
This shows any number of satellites up to five - empty rectangle = not locked on - black filled rectangle = signal acquired; you need a minimum of 3 solid bars for lock-on and triangulation to work.
Once satellites are locked on you should be able to zoom into your position provided that active connection has been set to "as needed" rather than "never" in options > settings in Maps application, to allow download of sufficient map detail.

Tonight I was taking extremely important photos throughout an event on my iPhone 4, however, my iPhone 4 ran out of battery once I was near a charger I plugged it in and for some reason my iPhone had reset itself. Back up icloud options were from yesterday, but the photos that I was taking at the event are needed urgently. Is there any way possible I can recover the photos that were taken?

I am so totally lost right now. I have been trying for two days to get my cd burner to work and can't. I am trying to make a cd for my husband who is in honduaras. I am sending a box there tomorrow but have had no luck with the cd. I'm not up to date with all the new hardware and software out now lol. Is there any other way to get music off my computer? Its old a Mac OS X 10.3.9. What do I need? MP3 player or an ipod? How do they work? Please help! This is so important,i'm almost ready just to pack my computer up and send it. Open the System Profiler (Applications/Utilities)
Select: Disc Burning under Contents on the left.
If your Mac can burn to CD's you should see: CD-Write -R -RW
Its old a Mac OS X 10.3.9.
In order to transfer music to an iPod you would need to upgrade to Leopard v10.5 since that is the minimum requirement for iTunes which you need to copy the music from the computer to the iPod.

Dead (but not) iBook G4... Much Help Needed!
There I was, minding my own business, checking my Facebook page and reading a few emails when all of a sudden...
"You need to restart your computer. Hold the power button for a few seconds blah blah blah"...
So I do.
It restarts.
Same thing, but this time I hadn't even opened anything.
So I restart again.
This time, it doesn't even get to the log-in screen.
I try again and again and nothing.
I "safe boot" the iBook and I can log in and look around and grabbed the "panic.log" file, which means nothing to me.
Can't find my install disks, Apple want to charge me £70 (or more) for a new set... I'm getting a copy of Leopard soon anyway (friend, un-wanted upgrade disk etc), I'm going to run the Diagnostic thing as soon as I've burnt the dmg to CD using Windows (yes, it CAN be done!)...
In the mean time, can someone help decifer the log? What the **** is actually wrong with my iBook? it can't be a hardware problem because it boots up in "safe boot"... I removed any new programs I install that may have screwed it up... Totally lost now.

Loaded up first time with AirPort off. I let it settle down, did a few simple things (Word, Preview, Spotlight). Did some complex stuff (Photoshop, Illustrator, Logic 7)... All fine.
Turned AirPort on: CRASHED
But then...
Loaded up second time with AirPort off. Let it settle. Turned AirPort on....
DIDN'T CRASH!
Checked the panic.log for the last crash and again, AirPort came up in that same part of the log.
Is it worth me taking this to my nearest dealer/reseller/service shop? Would they be able to do anything (cheaply-ish - as long as it costs a lot less than buying a new MacBook/2nd Hand iBook)? It seems to me like an inconsistent error but I don't want to get my hopes up, start using it, and then have it break on me all over again....! -

Okay so i went out and I bought a yamaha 630BL reciever, a digital coaxial s/pdif, and a 3.5mm phono plug to fit perfectly to my XFI Extreme Music
-The audio plays fine and reports as a PCM stream when I play it normally, but I can't get dolby digital or DTS to enable for some reason eventhough I bought the DDL & DTS Connect Pack for $4.72
When I click dolby digital li've in DDL it jumps back up to off and has this [The operation was unsuccessful. Please try again or reinstall the application].

I also have a question on 5. and Vista 64
-When I game I normally use headphones in game mode or 2. with my headphones, the reason for this is if I set it on 5. I get sounds coming out of all of the wrong channels.
Now when I watch movies or listen to music I switch to 5. sound in entertainment mode, but to make this work properly I have to open CMSS-3D. I then change it from xpand to stereo and put the slider at even center for 50%. If I use the default xpand mode the audio is way off coming out of all of the wrong channels.
How do I make 5. render properly on vistaWe ended up getting iTunes cleanly uninstalled and were able to re-install without issue. All is now mostly well.

Help needed please - both my hubby and I have iphone 4s - I've just gone to download music onto my phone and have somehow managed to download all his stuff onto my phone and lost all of mine Is there anyway I can get my info back and delete his without restoring to back to factory settings (this was the first time I connected mine to the laptop to download and I'm not very good with the computer as you can see from my problem !) xx

URGENT HELP NEEDED - iPhone 3Gs no longer detected or charged by MacBook
My iPhone 3Gs (3.1) has been running fine, until several hours ago today, when I plugged it to my MacBook, the iPhone is no longer detected - it doesn't show up in iTunes, nor it is charged. I tried opening iPhoto, and it wasn't there too. Not with Image Capture too. I tried charging it using the out-of-box wall charger using the same out-of-box USB cable I use for MacBook, and it can be charged without any problem. Then I put it into Recovery mode, and there iTunes can see it. I don't want to restore it before I figure out exactly what went wrong, as I don't want the restore process somehow gets stuck in the middle that the connection is lost again.
I've tried reinstalled iTunes, including completely removal of Apple Mobile Device Support, as instructed by Apple. But still no luck.
I've tried switching to another USB port of my MacBook. No luck.
My iTunes is the latest 9.0.1, and my Mac OSX is 10.6.1. My iPhone is on 3.1, upgraded from 3.0.
I've read from web that it seems I'm not the only one out there having this problem. But none of them seem having any real working solution.
Urgent help needed & appreciated. Millions of thanks in advance.

3. as said, i did completely remove & install itunes (incl. apple mobile device support), as instructed on the apple webpage
anyway, did a restore just now. it seems okay now. but the problem is i have no idea what cause this, and i can't replicate the problem. so i don't know when it will happen again ... maybe a bug with os 3.1 ... others on web said os 3.1 is quite buggy ... -

I’m working on a Report, it gets some 2 million records and the report pages are approximately 52,000
It works fine if the pages are lesser then 48,000 or the data is less let say one and half a million, the problem occurs only after 48000 + pages formatted.
Report is generated successfully when trying to go to the last page it throw an error.

I have already gone through the metalink DOC Id 95505.1 as well as OTN
But all in vain,
Any comments or help much appreciated.

Thanks & RegardsI don't see the point in making a report with more than 48,000 pages, I think Al Gore will not be happy when you start printing it...
The problem might be caused by the fact that Reports needs to format all output at once, and then even 1GB of memory will probably be not enough. Formatting all pages at once is needed if you use pagination with displaying total number of pages. If you have this, try to get that out of the report definition and try again. -

I have had printing problems too a year and a half ago. I used all printing apis of java and I still find that it is something java lacks. Now basically you can try autosense. To check whether your printer is capable of printing the docflavor use this PrintServiceLookup.lookupPrintServices(flavor, aset); . If it lists the printer then he can print the document otherwise he can't. I guess that is why you get the error.
