Ssl authorization passwords saved although never remember passwords set

My firefox is set to always use private browsing and never remember passwords. But if I open a new private windows and go to a web page that requires SSL authentication and I put in a user and password and then close the window, firefox has saved that info. If I open a new private browsing window and go to same webpage it does not azsk for authentication again. Is there a setting to get rid of ALL passwords?

while multiple profile could be a last resort that approach seems best for firefox windows or sessions that are significantly different from each other...i just want similar private windows that don't talk to each other...prefer some kind of "about:config" solution...loosing faith...next I will find out NSA has obvious backdoor right in source code...aarrrrgggh

How do I save the password for a site for which I have chosen the "never remember password for this site" option?

The first time you enter a password for a site a box pops up under the address bar that has a picture of a key and then the question: "Remember this password?". In the drop box, I chose the option "Never Remember Password for This Site". I can't figure out how to change it so that the password IS remembered.

It sounds like the printer is still trying to retain the old network information.
Try a Hard Reset:
* Unplug printer while unit is turned on
* Unplug other end of power cord from the direct wall outlet
* Wait 30 seconds
* Plug unit back up for power
Reset Network information to Default:
* Press the Wrench/Setup menu button in the top right of the touch display of the printer
* Select the Wireless menu option
* Scroll down to Restore Network Defaults
After restoring the defaults, then try running the Wireless Setup Wizard. Let me know if the unit still does not retain the information.

Never remember password option fails to add site to Exceptions list

In Firefox 24.0, I visit a website and enter username/password. Popup asks if I want to remember the password. I select Never Remember Password for this Site. I logout and log back-in. After entering username/password, I'm asked again if I want to Remember Password.
Privacy tab: Always use private browsing mode is unchecked
Security tab: when I click Exceptions, there is nothing showing in the popup window
How do I get FF to add the website to the exceptions list so it will stop asking if I want to Remember Password everytime I visit the site?

Password Manager settings
Firefox will remember passwords by default. You may have disabled this feature, or told Firefox to never remember passwords for a particular site.
At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options .
Select the Security panel.
If it isn't already check marked, check Remember passwords for sites.
To the right of Remember passwords for sites, click the Exceptions… button .
Make sure that the site you're trying to log in to isn't in the list.
If it is, select the entry and click Remove.
Click Close.
Click OK to close the Options window .

Encrypted backups are very secure.
Try every possible password you can think of. Try simply leaving the field blank also.

When enter username & move to next field, password is shown in encrypted format when click on login/sign in button it does not get login & does not even show any error message. The same functionality works in Google Chrome browser.

You can use the search bar in the Password Manager window to search for that site. 
Then you can highlight that entry and press the Delete key or click the Remove button. 
Be sure not to click "Remove All"
Remove saved Password(s):
* Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
The next time that you visit that site then you can click the arrow next to "Remember Password" and select "Never Remember" from the drop down list.

Why the restart firefox bubble does not show after installing an addon and the remember password bubble is closed (not now x)?

When I go to a post login page, firefox offers to remember password.
If this bubble is ignored (by pressing the x or by choosing the Not now option) and i download an add-on on that page that requires browser restart, the bubble of "restart now" which should get triggered after the installation of the add-on is not shown.
Note: If i press on Remember password or never remember password on this site, the restart bubble shows.

Possibly you could explain carefully what happens, listing the steps you take.
As a test/example Would you be able for instance to recreate the problem with this forum as a login site with a password. And with for example this add-on

I can't get rid of the 'Remember password for..' box (top left)

When I login to a website (2 sites so far, including this one) and the Remember password box pops up, I can't get rid of it. I click the x it doesn't close..I click 'not now'..'never remember password for this site'..nothing..it wont disappear..If I minimize the window it can disappear until I move the mouse towards the top of the window and it comes back..any ideas?..bug maybe?

Password - I said "never" and it was a mistake

I entered my password for a site and when the dialogue came up asking if I want the iPad to remember the password my finger missed and hit "Never". That was a mistake. Thing is, it works. But how can I undo that?

In Settings on the left column Safari is located a few down from General/ iCloud/ Mail.. Safari. I touch that and to the right in the General pane - the 2nd one down is AutoFill. So far so good. It is marked "On" with an arrow. I touch that.
There are four choices from here. Use Contact Info/ My Info in one pane; and Names and Passwords/ Clear All in the pane just below that.
Names and Passwords is "On". Touching that does nothing. The only option is to move the button to "Off".
Clear All seems like touching it will do what it says, which is not my intention.
Now --- At the bottom of the first window, with General at the top, there is a tab "Advanced". On that window there is a listing for "Website Data" with an arrow. When I touch that there IS an edit button at the top right, and a listing of website names. But the only option having pressed the Edit button is all the "minus' signs to the left of the website names. I found the website in question. The only option I believe is to remove it.
There is no "Username & Passwords" and no list of passwords for the website. And nowhere do I see an indication that I have pressed "Never Remember Password".
I do think I got it though. In the first General window there is a tab for Clear Cookies and Data - as mentioned above by Fred*M. There was no specific mention of 'previously Never' but that worked, i think. Now when I go to the site the password is filled in with dots. I just click Login without needed to fill in the password. I think I'm good.
But Rowenthomas -- I never saw what you talked about. Could that be for the Mac Safari only?

I can't get firefox to remember my passwords and open the site automacially, It did it at first when I installed firefox but now it won't and I have remember passwords checked in the tool

I just reinstalled firefox on my computer and the password feature to remember then worked for all my sites for a couple days and now firefox does not remember my username or password and I have remember password checked in the tool section. What can I do to correct this. Does it have anything to do with me having the setting to not remember any history?

Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) [[Private Browsing]] mode.
* You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
* To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
* Uncheck: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"

Firefox's option bar for saving username and passwords will not show, I have it set to remember passwords for sites. Can sites be added manually?

I was using Norton to remember my user names and passwords, however I do not use Norton any longer. Firefox does not give me the option of saving passwords even though I have it set to remember them.
