SSL implementation on portal development

Hi, All
I have implemented SSL on QA using the standard port 443 and it is working fine.I did the same SSL implementation on portal development using the same port 443 and it doesn't work. When I call up the https url from IE for my portal development it seems like it's not connecting it just stays blank and it is not displaying anything.
However when I change the port to 50001 it works fine nad everything on the web page is displayed but I want it to work on the standard port 443.Please help on rectifying this or any Ideas on how to solve this.
Thank you

You need to change the http provider service on your DEV portal dispatcher to use port 443 instead of 50001.
Also, make sure there are no other web servers using that portal number on the same host as the DEV portal.
Cheers

    Yannick Ongena website www.yonaweb.be/using_multiple_navigation_models_template_webcenter_11g_ps3_0
    and following multiple blogs
    BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT
these blogs and website are not very much responsive .. I've very less time .. I need urgent reply for my problems that I'm facing throwout development
    I've Installed
    Jdeveloper 1.1.1.1.6.0
    Xe 11g db 11.2.0.2.0
    WebCenter Portal Development Framework

one of problem is that I think DEV schema is Created when we install RCU , I've Created UCM and PORTAL schema through RCU .. But mistalenly I've Removed the DEV schema as well
    and facing the below problem
I’ve Created DEV , UCM and PORTAL schema from RCU. and Then try to install UCM ,when schema password screen appear for LOGIN and Create weblogic domain , It tell me INCORRECT PASSWORD, SO , I’ve DROP these 3 schema using RCU , during DROP schema, different errors appeared , and I’ve DELETED the middle ware\rcu_Home folder and Unzip the rcu.rar fresh file to the same directory
    NOW
when I RUN rcu.bat and selected CREATE SCHEMA then RCU WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO CREATE SCHEMA FOR PORTAL , DEV , UCM ..and also they appear in combo box to select
    BUT I’ve ALREADY DROP THAT
I think it only droped not DELETED
tell me the sqlplus commands fro DELETE schema. and also tell if it is DANGEROUS to delete some schema(example DEV schema) as I’m developing portal via WEB CENTER -Jdeveloper(integrated weblogic) , Xe , RCU, UCM )

Sir in 1 day I can finalize and develop UI ..(JSF pages and this bindings and template )
for its Content I was Started UCM and then I stuck ,
I Basically need to provide JSF Pages and portlets for Users (Student groups - Project Supervisors - Project Coordinator )
I have to create Users and their Pages(Project Coordinator - Project Supervisor and STUDENT Group's)
1)Project Coordinator is the Head Who Allocated Project Supervisors to the Student Group in response to Messages(sent from the portlet at home page)from the students that desire to make group and want desire supervisor . in response to this message the Supervisor can Reply and ASK FOR MEETING and the the coordinator has the authority to ALLOCATE
2)Project Coordinator Create PLAN (1 year Plan) in tabular form (for example Project Group Supervisor and Its STUDENT GROUP has to Deliver 20 MILESTONE Deliverable throughout the year(Project group Supervisor can Divide Each MILESTONE into TASK and SUB TASKS...and Student Group has to Upload )
Supervisor can give the task to student group and student group has to upload /Submit the required Deliverable /(task file ) supervisor within the given period MARK THIS TASK AS AN OK AND GIVE ANOTHER TASK OR ASK FOR METING
    in this way We achieve/provide
Provide Central Repository for the Whole Software Projects that are Valuable ..
    ALSO DOCUMENT TRACEABILITY is achieved
Workflow management (Task given and submission and meetings and attendance etc)
This Functionality plus Basic ADF and WebCenter built in Functionality can also improve Collaboration and Productivity and Performance

  • How to implement OracleAS Portal Clustering ?

    Dear all,
Can anybody pls point me to the docs about how to implement OracleAS Portal Cluster (version 10.1.4) ?
Also, about deploying Portal from development server to production server (using Export Import) , do we have to deploy it to all nodes , or can we just deploy it once to the cluster ?
    Thank you,
    xtanto

    Hello Xtanto,
The Oracle documentation provides instructions for setting up Oracle Portal in a 'cluster'. For 10.1.2.0.2 and 10.1.4 :

  • SSL implementation not available on WebSphere 4.0

I am hitting a wall. I am trying to make an https connection from my servlet code on WebSphere 4.0 to another server. I've installed the jsse as an extension into the java/jre/lib/ext in the websphere directory. I've updated the java.security to the following:
    security.provider.1=sun.security.provider.Sun
    security.provider.2=com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider
    security.provider.3=com.ibm.crypto.provider.IBMJCE
    security.provider.4=com.ibm.jsse.JSSEProvider
I have my cacerts configured with the cert for the other system imported. This is killing me because it works without a problem on ServletExec. The stack trace follows...

I think my problem is with the keystore/truststore....
previous postings made it sound like you could do this programatically by pointing to truststore rather than adding certs to cacerts with keytool? In this case I a just running a main pgm from wsad-ide.
Oh yeah, we are behind a firewall and use a proxy-server to get out. the settings provided were gotten from ie:tools:options:connections tab, lan settings; I am not sure if that is what is supposed to be supplied for https:proxyport and https:proxyhost parms.
(I get the dreaded "untrusted server cert chain")
thanks in advance for any help.

  • Reg:implementation Enterprise portal in solution manager

    hi all
i am new to the concept of solution manager .In this how can we implement Enterprise portal .Actually what an EP consultant work need to be done in this  solution manager.can any  one provide some real time scenarios info related to it .
    regards
    Deepika

    Hi,
Regarding the implementation phase, Solution Manager helps you via several functionalities:
    - Solution Documentation: Central documentation of processes, system landscape, custom code,...
    - Test Management:Change impact analysis, End-to-end test management
    - Change Control Management: Integrated quality management, Synchronized transports of various components, Controlled and documented adjustment of business processes incl. approval process
    - Application Incident Management: Integrated service desk, Involvement of partners in problem resolution, Provide root-cause analysis for complex landscapes with diverse technology stacks
The most important part in from my perspective for a implementation consultant is the Project Documentation functionality, where you can get Implementation Content for Enterprise Portal. This includes business scenarios documentation and business process included in the Business Process Repository, how to configure different scenarios and business processes, test cases, etc.
I think you can find some information in the marketplace about this functionality. For example you may find something under service.sap.com/alm -> SAP Solution Manager and Tools.
    Best regards,
    Fernando

  • Implement Supplier Portal

    Hi Team,
We are planning to implement supplier portal for our project. The purpose of this, supplier login to this portal to see their qty status by report. How much qty they have supplied and how much qty used by company etc..
Here we have material and vendor (supplier) etc. as a info objects. Different vendor can supply the same material. When the vendor login to the supplier portal to see the report and they have to look only their materials and they can't see the other vendor's material.
How do I control this ?. Do i Need to control this Vendor number info object Authorization level ?.
Pl let me know your thought here and share if any of you come across this situation.
thanks in advance for your kind help.
    Regards,
    Senthil.

    Hi Senthil,
You can add additional user attributes by following the below procedure..
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/44/0316d50bbe025ce10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
You can create an additional Portal attribute for Vendor number. In the Webdynpro code, based on the logged in user you can extract the vendor number and pass it on to the back end BAPI, then you will make use of vendor number in your select query. I feel that this is the simplest solution for your problem.
Regarding your solution, what if a Vendor has multiple users who access your Portal. I don't think all the users from a vendor will use the same user id, which is not advisable.
    Regards,
    Uday.

3)And in which technologies(like JSP,EJB etc) do we required to have good knowledge before developing web portals?
4)Can anyone tell me the basic and good way to start learning this new technology
I kindly request you to answer my questions,,PLEASE:

You can build your portlets using J2EE (JSPs, servlets, HTML, Java classes) or PL/SQL.
If you're building Web providers (J2EE portlets), you don't need a portal installation, you can register them on Oracle9iAS Portal Studio.
To build portal pages, yes, you'll need to have a portal installation.
You find more information on portlet building options on Oracle9iAS Portal Studio.

  • Oracle Portal Development from different geographic locations

    Hello,
Have anyone done the development with Oracle Portal from different geographic locations, our customer want to know is there a way we can develop Oracle portal application from different geographic locations and merge it one place.
One reason is because the portal is in the database. If you have two separate groups work to build a single portal, it reason that each team would have their own installation. When these two groups are done (or periodically), the development efforts must be merged into the final complete portal. Is this possible using Oracle Portal (merging portal installations)?
Second reason is that typically other systems owned by the customer are exposed or accessed by portlets. Access to these portlets would probably be required for development. If nothing else then for unit testing.
How do you typically see off-shoring done with Oracle Portal, if at all? Or am I incorrect in my thinkings. How does the Portal meta-data stores the portal configurations is it possible to merge different portal schema into one and make it the main portal environment.
Please let me know if anyone successfully done this. Your comments would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kathir
