SSM Admin - Synchronize User Tables
Hi,
I'm having some problems with the option "Synchronize User Tables" in the SSM Administration. I just created a new user in the AD. Then I open the NetWeaver Identity Management and the new user appears there (NetWeaver is connected to Active Directory). Then in SSM Administration I do the Synchronize User Tables but even after the message box saying "Update completed" I don't have my new user available to add to the Application Groups !!!!
What can be the reason for this? The only way I have to really update the user information in SSM is doing a restart of the "SAP Management Console", but this make no sense, or it makes !?!?!?
What can be the problem?

Are you using both Active Directory and LDAP? Check your Java System Properties settings in NetWeaver CE to make sure that they conform to the settings recommended in the Installation Guide. CMSAuth specifies which user authentication system you are using. GroupUniqueKey might be required if using LDAP and carefully review that since it provides information about changes to the Java System Property StrategyGroup in certain situations described there. You can find the installation guide on the Service Marketplace.
You may also have to create a Strategy group in your authentication systems and include SSM users into that as well. The installation guide will provide the clarity depending on which authentication system you use.
If you still encounter problems, you should work with support by opening a ticket.

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. The most confusing area with SSM is the web services user/password. If you have installed on a Windows server. The web services connection will be with the created Windows user and the password for that user. This Windows user is not a user of the system, it is your connection user.
The recommendation is to create a Windows user that can be recognized like pasuser or passervice - some other name than pipadmin or SSM user, since it is too common for each to have a different password.
That is the first thing to check.

Error in Synchronize User Tables through LDAP
Hello Guys, we have SSM 7.5 SP9 with HPUX/DB2, we change the UME authenticate method access to LDAP, but we get an error message when trying to "Synchronize User Tables" (User Syncronization error, check the log for details), the log did not find much information:

It also deleted the cache in File Manager: / memorycache / syncstat.
I believe it's necessary to do some change in the authentication method for NWCE, but where is this change made?

I recommend you consult the SSM installation guide again. There are Java System Properties you have to modify in NetWeaver CE -
CMSAuth
GroupUniqueKey
And some other configuration changes you may need to make as well.

Problem with synchronization users in SSM 7.5 5.0

I have installed NWCE 7.1 (SP Stack 09) & SSM 7.5 5.0 on a windows 2003
I have read previous posts and I modified the Java Properties parameter to CPIC.
I've also tried to delete the cache from the file manager.
However synchronization does not work, gives the same error:

First off, there has been some reports of using the Synchronize User Tables and not getting a pop-up that says it completed - BUT the users were sync'd. Check the Manage Application Groups section to see if the users show up there. If they did, you have sync'd. There does seem to be something in a later SP that dealt with that issue.
Secondly, when using JPIP, on the Set System Defaults area you "lose" the Cache Directory, Max # of entries, and Global Cache setting. Gone, don't need them for JPIP. So it can be a little frightening when you don't see them.
As you found. you now only see those WHEN CPIP is used.
There are a number of reasons that JPIP is a better way to go - long-term:
1) Tracing - PIP and PAS Trace - that is what you now see in the Set System Defaults window. It's very useful for troubleshooting. Default is Disable and you keep them like that until you need to do troubleshooting. You Enable them, go through the steps that created a problem and then go pick up the trace file.
2) When using JPIP, you no longer use Extended Listener or Listener (Yes, it took me a while to get used to that).
3) That means - you Don't need to be on the server to restart Services - you do that from Tools, which can be accessed from the url.
4) JPIP allows you to restart specific instances, as well as restarting the whole service. That means if you know where the trouble is, you can restart that service without restarting all the services.
5) There is a more information available using JPIP
6) Using JPIP, you could run SSM off a single UNIX box.

Synchronising HR and WF User Tables !
Dear All
I am facing a workflow issue, whereby a valid and active HR employee (also linked to an active FND User) record is not registered within the WF User and Role tables.
How do I ensure that the WF User/Role/Directory tables are synched with the HR/FND Tables.
I am told that under the 11.5.10 (which is the environment I am working on), this should be automatic, but clearly, this is not the case.
I even tried updating the HR record through the form, just to check if it fires an update to the WF table, but no luck there.
I tried running the various Workflow Synchronization and Validation Concurrent Programs under the SysAdmin, but again, none of them did anything.
Has anyone faced this issue and how do you get the WF User tables updated ?

But my CE database is already being accessed when I log on the SSM Admin UI.

Synchronising User Tables not Happening
Hello All ,
I am using SSM 7.5 SP 04. We configured SSM to connect to the BusinessObjects User store.(BOE). I am able to login as the "cmstechnicaluser" who is an admin on the BOE side.
I created a new user called "VJ" and added him to the strategy_users group in the BOE user groups. If I login into the administration UI ,using the credentials of "VJ" , it is logging in , but displaying a message that "you have no access to this application. Contact your system administrator".
I tried adding this user "VJ" to the application groups. But this user is not coming in the user list in the Admin UI. I went to the system defaults and clicked the Synchronise User Tables. It is throwing up an error saying " SM Script error"

- Please follow the recommendation in note 1314587.
- Check table 'DSWPGLOBALCUSTOM' and ensure that the entry 'DTMLOG' is available. Create the entry if missing.

OracleXE Newbie: How do I view user tables as SYS/SYSTEM?
I'm brand new to Oracle and downloade OracleXE to learn a bit about it. When I login as SYS or SYSTEM how do I view user tables? Don't I have full admin rights? I can't figure it out.
I've unlocked the sample application with the user HR and created the first sample app page to view Employees, and when logged in as HR I can see all of the tables but why not when I'm signed in as SYS or SYSTEM?
TIAThe sys and system users can see (and alter, drop, create) objects for any database user, just have to add the schema (a.k.a. database username) to the object name, i.e.
select * from hr.employees;
Should get you the hr employees table. There are also several views to help out, i.e. dba_users has all the database users, dba_objects for all objects in the database objects, dba_tables has all tables, etc.
And each user also gets similar views, user_tables has all the tables that user has created, and there is an all_tables view listing any table the user has been granted select or other privileges. -
Help with setting up User Table/Picklist

I am creating an application where I am using a custom authentication scheme and capturing all user information in a separate table. When the user logs in it will refer to the table to identify a user name and password stored in the table.
I am allowing users to create their own user accounts which will default to basic access levels. Further along in the process users will be required to select an individual to approve something. I want to use a pick list so that the approver name is entered consistently every time. The user table has the following format:

I'd like the users to be able to select from a pick list that displays LNAME, FNAME. I don't know how to have both fields show up in a pick list.
Alternatively I'd like (if possible) to keep the two seperate fields for the creation of the user accounts so that I can get a consistent LNAME, FNAME format and people aren't entering it backwards (i.e. Smith, Joe v. Joe Smith).
If I cannot show the two fields in the picklist, is there a way where I could add a self calculating filed to the table that will concatenate LNAME", "FNAME?

How do I create new user table in program and then access it?
I am writing an application where I check for the existence of user objects when the add on starts and run the setup if the objects do not exist. I can create the user tables and fields but after the setup completes these objects still are not visible.
If the user objects exist when the add on is first run everything is detected correctly.
When a user object is added in SAP the user is eventually prompted to restart so I suspect something needs to happen prior to the add on being able to use the new fields.
Does the add on need to wait for the DI Server to perform some action? Do I need to just quit the add on's class and rerun it, disconnect and reconnect to the company, or get a new Application and/or company object?
What I want to do is figure out a way for the add on to automatically run the configuration if the user tables and fields do not exist yet and then kick off the regular add on code. I haven't seen anyone else's code so I don't know what is recommended or required here.
Thanks for any assistance!I found that the add on can validate the existance of the user fields if I disconnect from the company object, set the SAPbouiCOM.Application and SAPbobsCOM.Company objects to null, set the new application, context, and company objects, and reconnect once more.
HOWEVER...
I still have to wait for the client to be restarted manually before I can run any of the form I added to the menu.
So, I'd still like to know what the best practice is here. Should I just exit after setting up the tables and tell the user to restart SAP? -
Crystal Report error trying to retrieve data from a user table

HOW CAN I ADD/UPDATE/INSERT IN A USER TABLE WITH MATRIX

I have one User table (Defined as No Object) and what i need to do is a form with a matrix to Add/Update/Delete data in my user table.
I already create the form and the matrix that already give me the user table data. But now i have several problems to solve.
First I try to add a new row but this new row get the data of the last row in the matrix. What i needed is a blank row to add new data in the user table.
Second, when i change data in matrix and do update in the form, sap show me the message that the operation is successfully done but the data in the user table in not updated.
I am trying to do one forma like whe can find in Setup-> General -> Freight.
Can anyone help me?

If ur dealing with a simple form like that U can as well use the direct table form, and just provide a FMS to auto matically fill the code and name. U can directly use the form by.. Tools-->UserDefined Windows

Comming to ur problem.... when ur adding a new row clear the data sources so that u'll get a blank row.
And for update the best thing to do is delete all the records in the table and again insert all the records directly from the matrix.

The user table has 3 my fields (U_Path, U_xcesta and U_xcesta1) abd 2 fileds (code and name) - this two fields i didnt create, i think that are some system fields?
On the system form everything seems to be ok, I can add rows, modify data, set new data, ... After changing any data in this matrix, the system button will change from OK to Update or Add and after click on this button in status bar is OK, the data was added or updated...
The problem is, that in user table aren`t data modified and there are still old data.
I tried to make update manually as:
