SSO and reports security
Hi,
Does anyone know how to suppress the SSO and reports authentication when we run reports from either Oracle Forms or URL - by using the standalone/custom report server? Whenever we call reports from Forms or URL, the login page comes up.
Thanks.
Andy
Hello,
To suppress the SSO and reports authentication HTM page , you have to modify the Reports Server configuration in order to set it "non secure"
Remove securityId="rwSec" in :
<job jobType="report" engineId="rwEng" securityId="rwSec"/>
And you can remove too the security TAG
<security id="mysec1" class="oracle.reports.server...">
<property name="oidEntity" value="ReportsApp"/>
</security>
restart the Reports server fater the modifications.

Install Forms and Report 11g, Weblogic, OID and SSO ?
Hello,
I want to migrate our system from Forms and Reports 6i to 11g with weblogic server 10.3.3 and I have two questions:
1st: If we considered to obtain a system consists of (Weblogic 11g + Forms and Reports 11g + OID + SSO + Weblogic Portal + BI Publisher)
What is the steps and the sequence of products installation and configuration, and what is the required versions of each one ?
2nd: Can I abandon OID and SSO, is there a substitute ?
If so, what's the steps and the sequence of products installation and configuration ?
Thank you very much>
You use the Oracle WebLogic Server installer to install Oracle WebLogic Server and to create a Middleware home (which is required before you can install Oracle Forms and Reports).
For Oracle Forms and Reports 11g Release 2 (11.1.2), download Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (10.3.5) from OTN or Oracle Software Delivery Cloud.
Be sure to select the proper Oracle WebLogic Server installer for your platform.

weblogic you can download from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/wls-main-097127.html -
Security Approach and Plan for single logon for Essbase and Reports.
Please any one can suggest me, how can I do the Security Approach and Plan for single logon for Essbase and Reports by using Maxl or Administrator. If any one have code, please forward to my email Id: [email protected]
Once you are logged in to the "Hyperion Portal" as you call it, your user credentials are automatically passed among all the components. Therefore, a lot of the logic you created to pass credentials between BQY files in a desktop environment are no longer needed.

Configuring 11g forms and reports with sso in fusion middleware 11.1.1.6
Hi Experts,
I have followed the below oracle support documents to integrate the three components Oracle Fusion middleware forms and reports 11.1.1.6, OID 11.1.1.2 and OAM 11.1.1.5.
How to Install, Configure and Integrate Oracle Internet Directory (OID) and Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 11g? (Doc ID 1395233.1)
How to Integrate Forms 11gR2 with OAM/SSO after an 11gR2 Forms/Reports Installation (Doc ID 1531370.1).
After completing the above steps i am able to access the OAM console with OID username.
But while trying to access the Forms through the URL, i'm geeting 404 page not found error.
Can someone help me on this.

Cisco Secure ACS 5.4/Monitoring and Report Viewer - SNMP Settings
Hello Everyone.
I hope this is the right forum for my question.
We just purchased 8 1121 ACS 5.4 appliances. I have some familiarity with the older 1113 and 1120 appliances running ACS 4.2. So I have a lot to learn.
Right now I'm trying to understand the Monitoring and Report Viewer System Configuration. I set the SNMP V2 read comm. string to the same string I configured from the CLI.
etc-labacsb1-1/admin# show runn | inc snmp
snmp-server contact "ACS1121;XXXXX"
snmp-server location "B1 Lab"
snmp-server community XXXXXX ro
1) It was not the same string as configured on CLI. Does setting this give me access to query more than system type or server type MIB objects.
2) Can you provide an example? (for example to query a switch - snmpwalk -v 1 -c XXXXXX hostname 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43)
3) What is the MIB object tree OID (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.???) for these ACS appliances?
Thanks in advance.
Ray Westphal
EHIthat's correct. here is what we have in ACS 5.4 for snmp.
ACS 5.4 supports Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to provide logging services. The SNMP agent provides read-only SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c support. The supported MIBs include:
•SNMPv2-MIB
•RFC1213-MIB (MIB II)
•IF-MIB
•IP-MIB
•TCP-MIB
•UDP-MIB
•CISCO-CDP-MIB
•ENTITY-MIB

EWA does not report security notes missing and java systems
Hello guys,
Our early watch report don't contain section 7.1 with security notes missing in the system.
We have solution manager 7.0 with ST-SER 700_2008_1 SP4.
What do we need to configure so that ewa reports security notes missing?
Another doubt, how can I get the list of security notes missing in java stack system like portal?
thanks.
regards,
Filipehello Filipe
Below is a line from the SAP note 888889.
"In the SAP EarlyWatch Alert report, the "Service Preparation Check" unit complains that Note 888889 is not implemented. As a result, the check for security-relevant notes can only be carried out partially in the "Security" section."
Looks like that could be the reason for that.
For JAVA stack there is no note concept.
Thanks & regards

About Flashback malware
Back up all data, if you haven't already done so.
Select ▹ Software Update to install the latest Java update (if Java is already installed) or the Flashback malware removal tool (if Java is not installed under Lion), as well as any other available updates. Installing either of those items should clear the infection in most cases. You must update to the latest version of Mac OS X 10.6 or 10.7 before you can install the Java update.
The removal tool runs automatically in the background and is then deleted. Don’t look for something to click. If the malware is removed, you’ll be notified.

Hi,
I want to setup an outpund hybrid search for SharePoint 2013 on-premise to SharePoint Online.
But I'm not shure if this works with ADFS SSO.
Has somebody experience with this setup?
Here's my guide which I'm going to use for this installation:
Introduction
In this post I'll show you how to get search results from your SharePoint Online in your SharePoint 2013 on-premise search center.
Requirements
User synchronisation ActiveDirectory to Office 365 with DirSync
DirSync password sync or ADFS SSO
SharePoint Online
SharePoint 2013 on-premise
Enterprise Search service
SharePoint Online Management Shell
Instructions
All configuration will be done either in the Search Administration of the Central Administration or in the PowerShell console of your on-premise SharePoint 2013 server.
Set up Sever to Server Trust
Export certificates
To create a server to server trust we need two certificates.
[certificate name].pfx: In order to replace the STS certificate, the certificate is needed in Personal Information Exchange (PFX) format including the private key.
[certificate name].cer: In order to set up a trust with Office 365 and Windows Azure ACS, the certificate is needed in CER Base64 format.
First launch the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager
Select your SharePoint web server and double-click Server Certificates
In the Actions pane, click Create Self-Signed Certificate
Enter a name for the certificate and save it with OK
To export the new certificate in the Pfx format select it and click Export in the Actions pane
Fill the fields and click OK Export to: C:\[certificate
name].pfx Password: [password]
Also we need to export the certificate in the CER Base64 format. For that purpose make a right-click on the certificate select it and click on View...
Click the Details tab and then click Copy to File
On the Welcome to the Certificate Export Wizard page, click Next
On the Export Private Key page, click Next
On the Export File Format page, click Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER), and then click Next.
As file name enter C:\[certificate
name].cer and then click Next
Finish the export
Import the new STS (SharePoint Token Service) certificate
Let's update the certificate on the STS. Configure and run the PowerShell script below on your SharePoint server.
if(-not (Get-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue)){Add-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell"}
# set the cerficates paths and password
$PfxCertPath = "c:\[certificate name].pfx"
$PfxCertPassword = "[password]"
$X64CertPath = "c:\[certificate name].cer"
# get the encrypted pfx certificate object
$PfxCert = New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2 $PfxCertPath, $PfxCertPassword, 20
# import it
Set-SPSecurityTokenServiceConfig -ImportSigningCertificate $PfxCert
Type Yes when prompted with the following message.
You are about to change the signing certificate for the Security Token Service. Changing the certificate to an invalid, inaccessible or non-existent certificate will cause your SharePoint installation to stop functioning. Refer
to the following article for instructions on how to change this certificate: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=178475. Are you
sure, you want to continue?
Restart IIS so STS picks up the new certificate.
& iisreset
& net stop SPTimerV4
& net start SPTimerV4
Now validate the certificate replacement by running several PowerShell commands and compare their outputs.
# set the cerficates paths and password
$PfxCertPath = "c:\[certificate name].pfx"
$PfxCertPassword = "[password]"
# get the encrypted pfx certificate object
New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2 $PfxCertPath, $PfxCertPassword, 20
# compare the output above with this output
(Get-SPSecurityTokenServiceConfig).LocalLoginProvider.SigningCertificate
[/code]
## Establish the server to server trust
[code lang="ps"]
if(-not (Get-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue)){Add-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell"}
Import-Module MSOnline
Import-Module MSOnlineExtended
# set the cerficates paths and password

Add a new result source
To get search results from SharePoint Online we have to add a new result source. Run the following script in a PowerShell ISE session on your SharePoint 2013 on-premise server. Don't forget to update the settings region
if(-not (Get-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue)){Add-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell"}
# region settings
$RemoteSharePointUrl = "http://[example].sharepoint.com"
$ResultSourceName = "SharePoint Online"
$QueryTransform = "{searchTerms}"
$Provier = "SharePoint-Remoteanbieter"
# region settings end
$SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication
$FederationManager = New-Object Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.Query.FederationManager($SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication)
$SPEnterpriseSearchOwner = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchOwner -Level Ssa
$ResultSource = $FederationManager.GetSourceByName($ResultSourceName, $SPEnterpriseSearchOwner)
if(!$ResultSource){
Write-Host "Result source does not exist. Creating..."
$ResultSource = $FederationManager.CreateSource($SPEnterpriseSearchOwner)
$ResultSource.Name = $ResultSourceName
$ResultSource.ProviderId = $FederationManager.ListProviders()[$Provier].Id
$ResultSource.ConnectionUrlTemplate = $RemoteSharePointUrl
$ResultSource.CreateQueryTransform($QueryTransform)
$ResultSource.Commit()
Add a new query rule
In the Search Administration click on Query Rules
Select Local SharePoint as Result Source
Click New Query Rule
Enter a Rule name f.g. Search results from SharePoint Online
Expand the Context section
Under Query is performed on these sources click on Add Source

Save the new query ruleHi Janik,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to display hybrid search results in SharePoint Server 2013.
For achieving your demand, please have a look at the article:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn197173(v=office.15).aspx
If you are using single sign-on (SSO) authentication, it is important to test hybrid Search functionality by using federated user accounts. Native Office 365 user accounts and Active Directory Domain Services
(AD DS) accounts that are not federated are not recognized by both directory services. Therefore, they cannot authenticate using SSO, and cannot be granted permissions to resources in both deployments. For more information, see Accounts
needed for hybrid configuration and testing.

Having Problems with connections and access. I have spent the last 2 days reading various threads regarding SQL Reporting Services pertaining to access and connections.
First, let me explain what I have done to date.
1) I am using Windows 7 - Home Premium.
2) I downloaded and installed MS SQL Server 2008 R2 Express. This was successful.
3) I downloaded Report Server 3.0 - This was successful.
4) In IE, I tried logging onto http://servername/reports, but this failed. After logging into IE
via ' Run Administrator', I was able to access URL.
Next, I updated the security / trust sites as explained in the
threads
Next, I went to Folder Setting and added my user name and granted all roles (Browser,
Content Manager, My
Reports, Publisher and Report Builder).
5) Now, I can log into Http://servername/reports using my normal windows 7 user account.
6) Next, I opened Report Builder 3.0. However, I am having trouble connecting to report
server. I tried connecting with
http://servername/reports, but this failed.
However, If I change URL to http://servername/reportserver, it works. BUT NOW, I have
another problem. When I
execute the RUN button to create report, I get a permission
error. "PERMISSION GRANTED TO USER ARE
INSUFFICIENT FOR PERFORMING THIS OPERATION".
7) Finally, I can not save reports to http://servername/reportserver when I select "Recent
Site and Servers". ERROR
MESSAGE: UNABLE TO OPEN OR SAVE REPORT
8) In my Reporting Services Configuration Manager:
Web URL = http://servername:80/ReportServer
Report Manager URL = http://servername:80/reports.
What is strange, the Report Manager URL works for IE URL and WEB URL works for
Report Builder connect (Even though it really does not work).
THREE QUESTIONS:
1) What URL should I use to connect in Report Builder.
2) How do I update my normal Windows 7 user so I can run reports when I connect to report
builder.
3) How can I save my reports so they are displayed in IE Reporting services. Note: I was
able to save report to
documents folder and import into IE Reporting Services.
4) And finally, is it possible to add report builder 3.0 as a tab in my IE Reporting Services. I
save seen samples of Reporting Services screens where the instructor has Report Builder
tab.
Thanks
DanTo answer question 1... it should connect through /ReportServer
http://bretstateham.com/reporting-services-architecture-diagram%E2%80%A6/
Report Builder 3.0 is not a web application, it is a client side application can be used using the click-once or downloaded from Microsoft's website. If you are having issues, you might download and install it and try running it as an administrator. -
Hi everybody,
Once authenticated to HTML_DB through SSO, is there a way to know the REMOTE_USER (the username entered by the user when authentified by SSO) and use it in a query ?
Thank youYves,
I think you might be talking about mod_osso. Mod_osso doesn't yet support dynamic directives for PL/SQL applications, so for the DAD that is protected by mod_osso, you will get the behavior you described in all HTML DB applications using that DAD. You might want to consider dedicating a DAD for mod_osso-authenticated HTML DB apps. When PL/SQL dynamic directives are supported in mod_osso in a future release, it will be easier to use with HTML DB.
HTML DB never accesses REMOTE_USER, which is set by mod_osso. If mod_osso is also setting USER, i.e., the user connected through the DAD, to the same value, that's interesting.
As far as spoofing REMOTE_USER, you'd have to get between mod_osso and mod_plsql and the application to do it. So I'd say that that isn't a concern.
With mod_osso or AS Single Signon using a partner application, you have to decide how to handle logout. Should it end your current session only, or take you to the Single Sign-Out page and log you out of everything?
Today, AS Single Signon with HTML DB registered as the partner application is a supported and secure solution. Search this forum for detailed steps about setting that up using the SSO SDK.

Can someone please provide me with a walk through using SSO and SOA? Basically in a SOA environment; from Application to Service to maybe another Service to Database how is SSO done?
I'm assuming when you say SSO, you mean identity propagation, which is usually the case with SOA. SSO to me is the act of moving from between HTTP servers without having to provide credentials everywhere you go. With SOA, you may want your identity propagated from portal->service bus->business services across different domains all within a single HTTP request.
Oracle has a number of strategies with regards to this. What I've been working with recently is using SAML token profile in WebLogic. Essentially the Web service stack in WebLogic knows how to generate a SAML assertion from the SAML Credential Mapper if required by the WS-policy. The SAML Identity Asserter consumes the assertion on the receiving end. You manage the partner relations, confirmation method, signing info, etc. through the WebLogic console.
You can manage which WS-security policies are applied for services deployed on WebLogic through the console, or you can do it from central gateway using Oracle Service Bus.

SSO and Principal Propagation in SUP
Hi all,
I am wondering how SSO and Principal Propagation work in SUP.
Ideally, users should be able to logon on their device application and the same user/pwd should be used to perform backend SAP invocations.
I have seen that personalization keys exists which can store users/passwords to use later in backend invocations.
However:
how can I perform login if my device is offline?
is the password used for login from device the same as the SAP system's?
do SUP and SAP have to share the same user engine (i.e. LDAP)?
Any help or pointers to best practices/manuals are really appreciated
Thanks, regards
VincenzoHi
how can I perform login if my device is offline?
Once the device logs into the SUP once every-time thereafter the client app doesn't perform an online authentication.
The credentials are stored on the device securely and authenticated with the user supplied credentials. When the device is online it will perform the online authentication.
is the password used for login from device the same as the SAP system's?
You can have the same credentials on both the systems. The SAP connectivity credentials are however stored in SUP.
do SUP and SAP have to share the same user engine (i.e. LDAP)?
Yes currently SUP for development purposes has the openDS ldap service. but in production we can use the LDAP provider of your company.
Thanks -

SQL> SPOOL OFF
nullThe above error is occuring only if the script is ran over a pre-existing reports security on webdb.
The drop table commands in the scripts may be having some untested errors due to which the above errors resulted.
I had re-installed webdb and when
the above scripts were run for first time i didn't encounter those errors.
FYI.

Read Only Access while assigning Analysis Types and Reports in User/Group
Hi Team,
While Assigning Analysis Type,Reports and Workbooks to User "Read" option is not enabled. It is not working and as soon as we select analysis type ,Only one option is editable "Create/Update/Delete". The other two Option is always there as display "Read" and "Execute" . Execute might work with "Scripts template" but "READ" should work for analysis types and Reports.
We are already struggling with "Read Only" Access in security filter as its not working now.
Thanks
Edited by: user7918731 on Mar 2, 2011 11:22 AMThe behavior for Analysis type, workbook and script as follow:-
The Analysis type create/update/delete option will be enabled, read and execute option will be disabled by default.
The report workbook read option will be enabled, and other two options will be disabled.
The script execute option will be enabled, and other two option’s will be disabled.
For providing “Read Only” access in security filter, Switch to the administration tab, Click on Security Filters, Click on Add button, Open Create Security Filter window, Select the access level to Read Only and select user in assigned user , Click on ok.
It should work. -
SAP Netweaver Portal - Folder structure and report publishing strategy
Hi gurus,
I'm working on a project in which we are publishing BW reports in SAP Netweaver Portal (prior to this, we were using SAP Bex Browser) organizing it by Department (workset, 2nd lvl of navigation), Business Processes (workset, 3rd lvl of navigation) and "iview types" (transactions, queries, dashboards and so on). On 1st level we have a workset simply called "Reports".
For each PFCG role we have on BW (ABAP Server), we created a portal role and defined which of the higher navigation tiers is visible to users (delta-linking the top level navigation worksets to the portal role and setting visible accordingly) and then we assigned Portal roles to the appropriated Group (PFCG role) so all users that have access to certain PFCG role can have access to the corresponding Portal role.
For example:
In BW (ABAP) we have a PFCG Role: Sales PMR Analysis - Administrator, which grants access to Sales Infoproviders, queries and data for PMR analysis. The user that have access to it, should be able to see:
|Reports|
|Sales Administration|
v PMR Analysis
> Web Queries
> Transactions
> Dashboards
> Workbooks
In Portal we create a workset that has: "Reports" and under it, all Departments (Sales Administration, Financial, Services, Human Resources and so on) set as "not visible". We create a Portal role called PMR Analysis and add the Report/Departments workset, set Sales Administration as visible and add worksets/folders named PMR Analysis, Web queries, Transactions, etc, and all the corresponding iviews under it.
If we assign this new Portal role to the Group of the corresponding PFCG role, the user will see exactly as the example from above.
Pros: The users have a clean view of the reports he/she has access.
Cons: The users doesn't have a clear view of what is available in BW so he can request access. There might be some useful report lost in on of the hundreds of BW roles that he doesn't know it exist.
One of the options would be to grant visibility to ALL departments, business processes and iviews in Portal and let PFCG security roles control user access, but that might be confusing to have an overwhelming amount of links, making it hard to find what the user needs, specially during first access. Not to mention possible security breaches.
So, I'd like to know how other consultants are defining this kind of folder structure and report publishing strategy in Portal. Ideally we would like to be able to have:
- Visibility of all existant reports even those that the user does not have acess (so he can learn that it exist and request access)
- Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
- Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
I'd appreciate if you guys can share your experience on this.
Thanks in advance.

This is not a refutation: your BW developers/consultants should be able to write reports, which points you in case of insufficent backend rights. EP is not designed to be familiar with ABAP security concept and cant take any influence at it.

Yes, bad idea.

As you already wrote on your own, this would be not good
- Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
- Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
This is not covered by SAP, if you wanna provide that, develop it on your own.
cheers
