SSRS 2008 R2 why Link Report Print format different from parent?

Hi,
I have created a link report based on Report A.
In Report A I have set the print format to "LANDSCAPE", but the link report always appear in Portrait, any work around on this?
If this is one of the SSRS bugs, is that anyway I can disable the print button in Report Server?
Thanks

Hi SAMSUNG,
I can reproduce the issue in my local environment. As per my understanding, this scenario is caused by design.
In Reporting Services, Report server administrators have the option of disabling the print feature by setting the report server system property EnableClientPrinting to false. But this property will disable client-side printing for all reports managed by
the server. So if you want to hide the print icon in all reports, we can refer to the following document:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms155874(v=sql.105).aspx
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

  • SSRS 2008 : Open a linked report in a new window.

    Hi,
How can I open a linked report, specified in the Action property, in a new explorer window?
    Thanks,
    Anurag

    Hi Anurag,
If I understand correctly, you have used the "Jump to report" function to open a sub reoprt(linked report in your question). Now, you want to open the report in a new windows.
By default, if using "Jump to report" function, the sub report will be opened in itself. That menas, it won't be opened in a new window.
To open the sub report in a new windows, we can use the "Jump to url". Use JavaScript function "window.open" in the URL to open the reoprt in a new window:
    ="javascript:void(window.open('subreport name'))"
Please feel free to ask, if you have any more questions.

  • SAP report print formats

    Hi!
There are several report print formats in an ABAP report. You can choose between them during printing, some examples: X_65_80 (80 columns, 65 lines), X_90_120 (120 columns, 90 lines) and so on...
Is there away to define more "standard" like printer formats?
I know, I can give anything after the REPORT statement (like REPORT zreport LINE-SIZE 99 LINE-COUNT 99) but these are not standard and mostly the printers don1t like them.
    Thank you in advance
    Tamá

    Hi Tamas,
When you run the report, the spool will be displayed on the screen. At this time, click on print, the system will show the print dialog. Click on properties, this will spool request attribites dialog. Click settings. in the next dialog box, select the required field, and the value and select the validity as required. This way you can set the standard format for all reports.

    Hi,
I am working on SSRS 2008 R2. On Preview report in report builder itself, i am getting an error "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt".

    Hi Venkat,
According to the error message, I guess that the error occurred when you previewed the report in Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS).
Based on my research, I think it may be a Window Layout issue of Visual Studio. Please try the steps below:
Click “Window” button from the toolbar ribbon.
    Click “Reset Windows Layout” option.
Click “Yes” to finish the operation.

  • Printing formatted text from an Oracle form

I'm trying to print formatted text from an Oracle form without using the standard menu print. The print button on the menu prints out the text and the actual form. I just want to print the text that is displayed on the form. I would like to add a print button to the form. Is there a print function or event in PL/SQL?
Thanks in advance for any help!!
    Jason

If you are interested in the content of the field you can loop over them (next_item built in) and write their content into a file using the TEXT_IO built in.
for nicer outputs check out Oracle Reports on OTN.

  • Ssrs 2008 grand totals of report

In an SSRS 2008 report, I am placing a grand total amount in the report footer since I want the amount at the very end of the report.
The problem is when the report is exported to PDF, the amount is a long ways from where the detail lines are located at.
Thus can you tell me how to make the data in the report footer change to be closer to the detail lines?

In your report design make sure you remove as much white space as possible from the main body of the report

  • Why do the colors appear different from photoshop when I place a picture in indesign?

I am new to indesign, and photoshop for that matter. But when I place a picture in indesign the color looks completely different from what it was in photoshop. Is this just a display issue or will it print with the wrong color?

You have a profile mismatch. Make sure the document and PS file's assigned profiles match. If you are not assigning color profiles then the Working Spaces in Color Settings have to match.

  • Why's the SQL format different for the same report on different PCs?

I have 2 PCs running the same version of Crystal Reports (11.0.0.1994) using an identically configured system DSN with the exact same driver. When I view the SQL that CR is using on PC 1, part of it looks like this:
    " FROM   {oj (("PUB"."LOQEstimate" "LOQEstimate1" LEFT OUTER JOIN "PUB"."LOQComponent" "LOQComponent1" ON ("LOQEstimate1"."Estimate-ID"="LOQComponent1"."Estimate-ID") AND"
On PC 2 it looks like this:
    "FROM   "PUB"."LOQEstimate" "LOQEstimate1", "PUB"."LOQComponent" "LOQComponent1", "PUB"."CustContact" "CustContact1", "PUB"."LOQSegment" "LOQSegment1"
    WHERE"
It's the exact same report. Can someone tell me why the SQL is different?
    TIA for the help.

Thanks for the reply, Patrick. Here are the answers you requested:
    1. Verify you are indeed using the same driver, and they are of the same version
The driver on both PCs is the Progress OpenEdge 10.1A driver. The file is pgoe1021.dll, version 05.10.0037.
    2. Verify if you have the same database client install on both computer.
    Both use prowin32.exe, v10.1.1.1326
If everything is the same, then it might be a registry key, and in this case, can you provide the following information:
    1. What database are you connecting to? ( Oracle, DB2, ... )
Progress OpenEdge 10 RDMS (/community [original link is broken])
    2. What is the version of the database?
    10.1A
    3. What is the version of the database client?
    v10.1.1.1326
    4. How are you connecting to your database? ( Native, ODBC, OLEDB,... )
    ODBC
    5. If you are connecting via ODBC, what is the name of the driver used and it's version?
The driver is the Progress OpenEdge 10.1A driver. The file is pgoe1021.dll, version 05.10.0037.
    6. What is the SQL query syntax do you prefer? ( PC 1, or the one generated on PC 2 )
The SQL generated on PC1 doesn't return any records. The SQL generated on PC2 does. Records are preferable ;o)

  • SSRS Column Chart Design Returning values in a format different from SSRS -SSAS Query Designer

    Hi All,
I have an SSAS cube Measure Group with Multiple Measures that I am attempting to return on one SSRS report and reflect the
values using a ssrs column chart.
    My Measure Group (Patients).
    Measures:
    PatientsOnMeds
    PatientOnRelapse
    PatientsCounseld
    TotalNumberOfPatientsRegisterd
    NewlyRegisteredPatients
    HealthPersonelTrainef
    Demension:
    Time (Year) :filtered to 2012 & 2013
In my SSRS query designer I have filtered the above Measures with Time Dimesion year 2012 & 2013
and the data is returned as :
    Year |PatientsOnMeds|PatientOnRelapse|TotalNumberOfPatientsRegisterd|NewlyRegisteredPatients|
    2012 | 700          | 526            |  25                          | 456
    2013 | 245          | 245            |  15                          | 70
Now the problem is when I return this data on the column Chart it's in messed up mesh
    On the chart Data:
    -Values :Measures
    -Series Group: Dimension
The report values are returned in multiple columns for each value segmented by year i.e year 2012,Year 2013.
I want a single column for each Measure (value) for each single year and The chart axis to reflect the measures(values)
instead of grouping values according to series group.
    instead the legend returns:
    -Year A -PatientsOnMeds
    -Year A -PatientOnRelapse
    -Year B -PatientsOnMeds
    -Year B -PatientOnRelapse
I would like the legend to reflect on -Year A,Year B in color code that will be highlighted in the column values.
Please point me in the right course if you can.Your insights are highly appreciated.Thank you in advance.

    Hi Charlie,
Thank you for your kind response.
In actual I want the legend to show:
    -2012
    -2013
And the bottom axis to show:
    PatientsOnMeds
    PatientOnRelapse
    PatientsCounseld
    TotalNumberOfPatientsRegisterd
    NewlyRegisteredPatients
    HealthPersonelTrained
Indicating in color code for Year 2012 and Year 2013.
This the challenge that I am struggling with.I hope you understand my scenario.
    It aint easy.

  • Why is the CSS formatting different?

When using live mode and browser preview mode using chrome, the formatting of my page is as it should be.  However, when I use the chrome browser and enter my url and go to the specific page the formatting is not correct.  By the way it is as it should be in safari, firefox and ie.

You have a mal-formed doc type declaration and other errors in your code.  Chrome doesn't like code errors.
Change your doc type to this:

  • Color Report prints in Color from Viewer, Black & White when send to PDF

RE: Crystal Report sent to PDFBlaster
    Hi,
I have a Crystal Report that contains a Color Logo. The particular problem that I am facing concerns sending the report to PDFBlaster.
When PDF BLaster is selected as the "PRinter" from the Crystal Viewer Print Button, the report is rendered in color. However if the PDFBlaster is selected from my Windows form, and SelectPRinter is used to print the report to PdfBlaster, the report is rendered in Black and White.
I noticed that this happens if my default printer is Black and White printer. IF the default printer is color , then the report is rendered in color regardless of whether it is printed from the Viewer or not.
Is there a setting that I can use to preserve the Report's properties? It seems to me that I am losing the "color" properties of the report when I use the ReportObject.SelectPrinter method.
    Thanks in advance for help/advice.

    Hello,
    Moved to Legacy SDK forum.
You did not say what version of CR and I don't believe this is .NET either so I moved your post where the RDC is posted. In any event what you discovered is what likely you need to do. Add another printer and set the default option to print color. Then when your app selects the printer use that printer.
CR Engines do not have a specific API to set the Color option, you select/set it in code first.
    Thank you

  • Printing format problem from Linux GUI

    Hi!
We have configured Printer for Linux Clients with "U" access method and users are able to take print out through Linux GUI.  However, the printout is not in desired format.  For example, PO printout has rows, columns, lines, borders, etc. which are printed correctly through Windows Printer. But when we take printout from Linux, lines, borders, logos, etc. are not printed, and only raw printout is fired.
I believe some ABAP development has to be done. Can anybody help in this regard please.
    Regards,
    Pankaj

    hi pranav,
ABAP-ers usually create those program (smartforms or ALV list) using SAPGUI for Windows so if you switch print them using SAPGUI for Java it's going to be different either print out nor print preview.
I used different technique so that my Linux client can print program (that had been created using SAPGUI for Windows) without changing any code on the program.

  • SSRS user created on Report manager is different from ReportServer database userName

    Hi All,
It will be quite helpful if someone can advice:
I created reporting services user on SSRS report manager as MeahK1 which is network username he was given. He is created succesfully but when he tries to access live reports, he is not able to see them because he does not have any access. When checked in
ReportServer db, this user is created as MeahK instead of MeahK1.
I am trying to see user details from the below query:
    select  *
    FROM ReportServer.dbo.Catalog
    INNER JOIN
    ReportServer.dbo.Policies
    ON Catalog.PolicyID
    = Policies.PolicyID
    INNER JOIN
    ReportServer.dbo.PolicyUserRole
    ON Policies.PolicyID
    = PolicyUserRole.PolicyID
    INNER JOIN
    ReportServer.dbo.Users
    ON PolicyUserRole.UserID = Users.UserID
    where username like 'Meah%'
Do any one know what could be the problem as all other users apart from him are working fine and let's say if a user ID is Kh3R, then he also is user with same name in ReportServer db.
    Can this problem be fixed?
    Adnan

    Hi Adnan,
According to your description, you want to grant a user to access report manager, right?
In Reporting Service, after installing a new report server, only users who are members of the Local Administrators group have permissions to access report manager. If we want to grant permissions for other users to access report manager, we should add users
to an item-level role and system-level role. Once the user account is added to an item-level role or system-level role, it will be added on the dbo.Users table within the ReportServer database. In your scenario, please check if "MeahK1" has been
added to an item-level role and system-level role. For more information, please refer to this article:
Grant User Access to a Report Server (Report Manager) .
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
