SSRS and SharePoint Integration Authentication Issue

We recently turned on SSRS for our SharePoint 2010 Test Environment.  We are using an account that has rights to SharePoint as a site collection administrator, the feature is enabled on the site collection and site level, it has access to the SQL instance
to pull the reports.  The report config file specifies NTLM authentication.  It acts as if it will configure and goes through the SP Central Administration steps successfully.  When I try to deploy a report, I receive the following error:
Exception encountered for SOAP method GetSystemProperties: System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.     at Microsoft.SqlServer.ReportingServices2010.RSConnection2010.SetConnectionProtocol()
at Microsoft.SqlServer.ReportingServices2010.RSConnection2010.SoapMethodWrapper`1.ExecuteMethod(Boolean setConnectionProtocol) 1afe9dfd-9846-4194-bddf-fcb0ded634be
06/14/2012 15:37:43.03  w3wp.exe (0x1E78)                        0x1754 SQL Server Reporting Services  SOAP Client Proxy
0000 High     Exception encountered for SOAP method GetSystemProperties: System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.     at Microsoft.SqlServer.ReportingServices2010.RSConnection2010.SetCo
If I turn on trusted accounts, it works, but then it argues when the report loads because our reports use windows integrated authentication.  We would prefer to have windows integrated authentication to control who can see reports by their
login name.  Any ideas?  I feel like I have exhausted options.

Can you please elaborate on how to avoid using Kerberos and use the Secure Store to access our external SQL data? In our test environment, we have SharePoint 2013 Ent, SQL 2012 Ent. I am trying to use PowerView to access a Direct Query data model created
in SSAS tabular mode. My connection from SharePoint to the model is successful but fails with a reporting service error:
Cannot create a connection to data source 'EntityDataSource'.

  • Problem with SQL Server Reporting Services 2012 SP1 (SSRS) and SharePoint 2013 in a Multi-tenanted environment

    Hi All,
I'm working on what appears to be a permissions issue with SSRS in a multi-tenented SharePoint 2013 environment.
As part of my troubleshooting I've ignored the multitenented web application for the time being and stood up a dedicated web application with it's own host header called reporting.<domain>.local. I've created a site collection and added a Doc Library
called Reporting.. And then the content types, made sure the features are up and everything tests ok. I mention this because it's not that I can't get this working.. I can't get this working in a Web Application configured for multi-tenancy running Host Named
    Site Collections.
When I try redoing the above on a Tenant site I get the following:
Sorry, something went wrong The permissions granted to user '<domain>\bprice' are insufficient for performing this operation. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user '<DOMAIN>\bprice'
are insufficient for performing this operation.
    Correlation ID: 7f23ef9c-4b6a-7007-7e6f-0b32c731f7ed
The problem here is that my account is a sysadmin in SQL, a local admin on all servers, a domain admin in AD and finally a Farm Admin in SharePoint. Access denied on my account is crazy. So it's unlikely to be perms in the traditional sence, more likely a denial
by implication (as though I have not been granted access to something)
When filtering the ULS Logs for that correlation ID I see the following log entries:
    WcfReceiveRequest: LocalAddress: 'http://homsssrs001. <domain>.local:32843/04560e49d2664b64bc12d9ce7bc9f885/ReportingWebService.svc' Channel: 'System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel' Action: 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2011/06/01/ReportServer/Management/GetDataSourceContents'
    MessageId: 'urn:uuid:44f03f7a-69b3-426c-bcb6-1088f0ad560c'
    Non-OAuth request. IsAuthenticated=False, UserIdentityName=, ClaimsCount=0
Cannot find site lookup info for request Uri http://homsssrs001:32843/04560e49d2664b64bc12d9ce7bc9f885/ReportingWebService.svc.
    Call to GetDataSourceContentsAction(https://shared.<domain>.local/sites/bf/Reporting/terst1.rsds).
The current site is not in the SiteSubscription of the context site. SiteSubscriptionId: for current site = 96a49a95-8256-4585-9627-98206351efe3, for context site =
    Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user '<DOMAIN>\bprice' are insufficient for performing this operation.;
A quick google on what I consider the most important of the above log errors (#5 mentioning Sitesubscription of the context site) returns:
    http://thesharepointfarm.com/2014/10/reporting-services-feature-pack/
We aren't using feature packs at the moment. As far as I understand it all features are available to all subscriptions.
Has anyone seen this issue? Can anyone point in the correct direction? There must be a config that's specific to SSRS and Multi-tenancy that I've overlooked but I genuinely can't get to the bottom of this.
    Kind Regards & Many Thanks
    Brett

Morning Trevor, please find attached - if you can, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards

  • Email Recipient limits on SSRS Subscriptions - SharePoint Integrated mode

Hi I hope this is the right forum to post this question in.
I have had a requirement to setup our users to be able to create and manage there own mail delivery SSRS subscriptions, this is not a problem. However I have been asked to set a limit on the number of recipients they can specify in the "To" field,
and I am not sure how to do this.
We are running in SharePoint integrated mode (SharePoint 2010), with SSRS 2008 R2 and I cant find anywhere that I would set this up..... I have had a look through the rsreportserver.config and unable to find any nodes that allow me to set a limit, nor
have I been able to find it online. SharePoint doesnt seem to have anywhere to set this, and it seems to sit within SSRS.
The nearest I have got is someone has suggested that it can be limited on Exchange, but before I go down that route I wanted to find out if it is possible in either SharePoint or SSRS.
Could anybody offer some insight to this?
    Thanks
    Tim

    Hi Tim,
As per my understanding, there is no maximum number of recipients per subscription limitation in Reporting Services. Just as you said, it depends on the SMTP server. For example, Exchange Server 2013 supports 500 recipients as the Recipient limit. This is
the default limit for Exchange Server 2013 organizations. Administrators can change this value for their organization.

    Hope this helps.

  • ADFS and SharePoint Integration: How to use ADFS Roles?

    Hello,
I've successfully integrated SharePoint with ADFS2 and users can login by ADFS. One of the claims mapping in ADFS and SharePoint is SAM-Account-Name->Windows account name.
Is there any guideline how to grant a permission to an specific role? For example I want to grand read access to an specific list to a specific AD group called "ListReaders"
A link to an online article explains how to use ADFS Roles in SharePoint would be a great help.
    Thank you,

    Hi Allan,
According to your description, my understanding is that grant permission to ADFS roles.
Please refer to “A Fellows” last suggestion to grant permission to ADFS roles in the link below:

  • DITA and SharePoint Integration--FM11 (TCS4)

We're moving to DITA and exploring our options for tools. We're currently considering TCS4; we'd use FM for authoring and publishing and RH for additional publishing outputs. We're also interested in using a DITA CMS, but since we're already a SharePoint 2010 site, we're wondering if we can leverage the new SharePoint integration instead. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!

We're trying to use FM10 and SharePoint with DITA.  It looks like it can be done, but only with a lot of customization. And I mean a LOT.
The main sticking point (it seems to me after a few months of on-and-off work in the area) is that SharePoint lacks the concept of interdependent files. In the SP world, every file is assumed to be self-contained. When you work on a file, you're not concerned with how it relates to other files in the repository.
With DITA, on the other hand, relationship is everything. If you update a file or rename it or remove it, you care very much about the effect on other files that might be referencing it.  So you need to add something that SharePoint does not have, namely, a file relationships database of some kind.  And then you have to provide user controls for it.
FrameMaker has dependencies. For example, when you open a topic or an unstructured chapter, you need access to any referenced images. To reconcile this with SharePoint's lack of dependency awareness, Adobe's CMS Connector sets up a SharePoint field called "FMDependency" that lists all the files that are referenced by a file. This helps Frame keep track of dependencies, but compared to a database, it's a clumsy solution. In fairness, it's the best Adobe can do without seriously invading your SharePoint installation.
The trouble I'm facing now is that, if I do decide to make SharePoint relationship-aware for the sake of our DITA implementation, and I want to continue including FrameMaker in our selection of DITA editors, I have to work with or around Adobe's less than optimal solution.
Another issue concerns metadata. Say you want to be able to select topics by title or shortdesc. First you have to get the metadata into the SharePoint list. (We've set up some code that runs at checkin to do this.) But then you want to use it -- and there's no provision for that in the CMS Connector. So now you have to use a browser to find your files, and then open the Connector and hunt them down from the full list in order to check them out and work on them. The same goes for audience or product metadata.
We're pressing on because the company is just rolling out SharePoint, and is hell-bent on using it for everything. If it's an option for you, I recommend finding a real DITA CMS.

  • Questions on SAP BI and SharePoint integration

    Hi all,
I was looking into how we can integrate SAP BI with our SharePoint server.
Does anyone has got exposure to this type of integration? Is there anyway that we can achieve this integration using SAP Business Objects or Performance Points?
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    Kukku

    Hi all,
We would like to get some thoughts on SharePoint integration with SAP BI.Could you please help us in solving the following questions:
    1. Which one is better? SharePoint integration through PerformancePoint Server 2007 or SAP Business Objects(SAP BO XI integration kit)?
    2. What are the starting point(system requirements)  to develop a prototype on both the methods?
I was able to find some info on both PPS and SAP Business Objects from the above link and also from sdn documents(those were really helpful, thanks!) but none of them provide some detailed insight into which one to opt for or how you can goahead. If someone has got more info on this please let us know.
    Thanks

  • WebLogic 10gR3 and Windows Integrated Authentication

    Hi:
I have an intranet web application running on WebLogic 10gR3 and would like to make use of the Windows Integrated Authentication (SSO, SPNEGO, Active Directory) so that the intranet users don't have to log in to access the web application.
In weblogic, I've managed to create an ActiveDirectoryAuthenticator and can see all the users and groups from Active Directly. Also created a NegotiateIdentityAsserter with both WWW-Authenticate.Negotiate and Authorization.Negotiate options.
When I set the web.xml login-config to BASIC, the browser shows the login dialog and authentication happens through AD. I've changed the login-config to CLIENT_CERT as suggested by the documentation:
    <login-config>
         <auth-method>CLIENT-CERT</auth-method>
</login-config>but I'm getting the following error:
    Error 401--Unauthorized
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.2 401 Unauthorized
The request requires user authentication. The response MUST include a
WWW-Authenticate header field (section 14.46) containing a challenge
applicable to the requested resource. The client MAY repeat the request
with a suitable Authorization header field (section 14.8). If the request
already included Authorization credentials, then the 401 response indicates
that authorization has been refused for those credentials. If the 401
response contains the same challenge as the prior response, and the user
agent has already attempted authentication at least once, then the user

  • BO XI3.1 and Sharepoint Integration

    Hello,
I am looking for some advice regarding sharepoint integration.
    Scenario:
    1. BO Server with XI3.1/SP2
    2. Seperate Sharepoint Server 2007 - sharepoint site.
We want to access BO reports through the sharepoint site.
I have been reading the installation guides /pre-requisites and have got a general idea , however there are possible downloads both under BO Enterprise folder ( portal integration) as well as a seperate Integration kit.
Would appreciate any advice for integration for this particular scenario.
    Regards

    Hi,
Use IOMS or integration Option for Microsoft SharePoint software.
It supports on XI3.1 and Sharepoint 2007 32 bit.

  • SnS and Sharepoint integration

    Hi All,
I would like to learn which features (such as Live Events Calendar, Social Video, Employee Generated Content etc.) we can support for SnS-Sharepoint integration. I know SnS can integrate to Share point through APIs. However I can not find any detailed integration document. We are competing with a different vendor. It is important to highlight the capabilities of SnS integration.
    Best Regards,
    Cigdem

Atrion Networking has a product that fully integrates SNS with SharePoint. I heard about them from Cisco and recently had a demo of it through Webex.

  • SQL database and SharePoint integration

I am looking for material on how to work with sql databases and sharepoint.
Is it possible to use an SQL database, with foreign key relations, in a sharepoint list?
What I am looking to is as follows:
Have 2 tables in SQL Server, with a reference from one, to another.
Have the ability to input and edit both tables from a sharepoint online external list.
    SQL Table 1:
    Id code
    name
    SQL Table 2:
    Arrival Date
    lot #
    idCode
idCode references Table 1 id Code
    Sharepoint List A
    List of Table 1
    Sharepoint List B
List of table 2, with the ability to add its to it, that will reference table 1.
I can not find any material or other ares focusing on this subject. You assistance would be appreciated.

  • TFS and SharePoint Integration Issue

I have moved TFS2010 with collections+sharepoint3.0+ report server. Everything is working fine. Except I am facing following issue regarding SharePoint. I have actually move my TFS2010 server from one hardware machine to another hardware. Sharepoint3.0
is intergrated with TFS2010.I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard edition with TFS2010 and Sharpoint 3.0 and Server 2008 R2 data center edition as base OS. The move is actually a Restore-Base move. Before migration system name and softwares are identical.
    PROBLEM Detail:-
When I try to edit excel file in sharePoint following error come to me
"Edit document requires a windows sharepoint services-compatible application and microsoft internet explorer 6.0 or greater"
internet Explorer is greater than 6.0 as I am using a internet explorer 9.0.29 version.
I am using a SharePoint 3.0 and Office 2013 suit with it.
IN TFS I have following SharePoint related Issue: (I have a folder on sharepoint which take data from workitems quries in TFS. It also appear in VS2010 in documents folder)
In TFS when I open an Excel file that design to take data from TFS workitems automatically. But it will not update its item through defined workitems. So I open the file then enter required username password--->
then enable editing (at this point it gives me errror "Run time error '91':
Object variable or With block variable not set". I just end it to move forward)(Also after this it will show the IP of old TFS server from which I have restored so that is why I go to Team menu)---> Team menu
-->  Configure --> here in connection I give the IP of my present TFS Server then it will connect to my collection manually-----> then I go to
list and select the desired query from which the data should be update --> Now ofter pressing ok it will update the data in excel file from the query --->
but the problem come when I try to save this file it will not save this file in sharepoint rather it gives me message that
file is read-only and try to save file in different location or with different name.
    PROBLEM
My Issue that excel file should be open directly from Sharepoint and user should be able to save it directly to sharepoint. Now my users first download the file --> change it and then upload it as a new file. very ambarrasing.
Also my TFS users excel files are not updating from Workitems Queries automatically. These files must be updated automatically after we change the query data in work items.
Please suggest me any solution. I am just stuck

  • Acrobat X and Sharepoint Integration

We noticed a weird issue today which I hope someone can help. Im not finding much on google.
We have a document library with versioning enabled. When a user opens a PDF file they can view the most recent version, but when they attempt to look at a previous version thay get an error that says:
"The URL you have provided cannot be reached. Please verify that the URL is correct and the network location is reachable."
This only happens on older versions of a document.
Older versions of acrobat can open these revisions without a problem.
Also, if I disable the Adobe/SharePoint IE addon the files are accessible but that rules out the integration within SP.
    Thanks a ton!

    Hi mchagar <http://forums.adobe.com/people/mchagar> ,
    Thanks for your reply!!
Because we have tens of thousands of existing items and documents which use SharePoint’s default Keywords, and many document libraries, we are keen to wait for an Adobe solution.
We are aware that we could create an additional column and copy Keywords to the new column. It is simply a large amount of work in a Corporate Environment, for no reason.
Hopefully Adobe will improve their products to include support for built-in SharePoint fields.
    We’ll wait a bit longer.

  • SSRS 2014 SharePoint integrated - getting error "Value does not fall within the expected range"

    Hi everyone,
Note sure if this should be in the SharePoint forum instead, but here goes...
I have got an SSRS report (SQL 2014) deployed to SharePoint 2013, and I am using a command line to call this report. The command line is...
    https://myserver/_vti_bin/reportserver?https://myserver/Reports/AdjustmentPlan.rdl&rs:Format=PDF&ParamActionGUID=B9B57C49-558B-471A-8BFD-2853673E8874
This returns an error "Value does not fall within the expected range"
If I remove the "&rs:Format=PDF" then the report appears on screen without problems...
When I look in the sharepoint log files, I see the command line has changed to be
    https://myserver/_vti_bin/reportserver?https://{machine_name}/Reports/AdjustmentPlan.rdl&rs:Format=PDF&ParamActionGUID=B9B57C49-558B-471A-8BFD-2853673E8874
I'm not sure why this is happening, but if I can ensure the command line uses the correct SharePoint address, then I think this will fix the problem.
Any questions or suggestions or solutions gratefully received.
    thanks
    David

Thanks for the reply. I can probably explain easier than screenshots..
The server name is "datacentre-cenet" for example
But the address we use to access SharePoint is https://cenet (ie using the SharePoint Alternate Access mappings). So the command line to call the SSRS report uses the SharePoint name (CENET).
But when I try to export SSRS to PDF, the command line get changed to
    https://datacentre-cenet which causes an error
My thought is that somewhere SSRS is using the server name, rather than the correct URL which is
    https://cenet
So if I could know where SSRS picks up the server name, I could configure that to fix this issue.
Hope that's more clearer, thanks again,
    David

  • Entourage and me email authentication issue

Hi Everyone, before someone mentions it, I know I need to upgrade my software, but for right now this is what I am working with, and I kind of get by with it for now. Anywho, I recently updated my e-mail to a @me.com address. When I added the account into my Entourage I had no problem authenticating, and I receive mail with no problem. Untill today when I went to forward a message using my (outdated) MacBook Pro, instead of my iPhone, I received an error message explaining that Entourage does not support any of the available authentication methods.
In a nutshell, I have no idea what that means and what to do. Please help by telling me how to fix this, or how to obtain the new software without spending a fortune to take care of the issue altogether
    thanks everyone!

Why not use Apple Mail on your MacBook Pro?
