SSRS report in Internet Explorer 11

Hi All,
We are using project server 2013. We have developed some reports and deployed in Project Server BI site using performance dashboard designer. When we open with IE 8 or 10 it is working fine, but when we try with IE 11 only half of the report visible with
scroll. How to fix the issue.
Thanks in advance, Taj

Did you see the update on that post regarding changing the document mode for reporting services? Taken from my blog post : "This issue is resolved by updating the document mode for the ReportViewer.aspx pages, updating this from <meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible”
content=”IE=5″> to <meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=8″> or later did resolve this issue for us. The file can be found on the report server in the following location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRSx.InstanceName\Reporting Services\ReportServer\Pages.
Please note, this will impact all the reports on that report server so test on a test server before a production server." Paul

  • Bug in Crystal reports viewer: Internet Explorer

    Hi,
I've a problem with crystal reports 13 sp2 viewer, that I'm using in .NET web application.
When I visualize a report using this viewer, the text doesn't take often the whole space that is reserved to it which causes an ugly overlapping between lines (an unnecessary text wrap) in the details section. That occurs when there's a multiple lines text. When I export it to PDF, the report is visualized in a right manner.
Is there  a fix to this bug please?!
The enable grow property is enabled.
The application is aimed to run under  Internet Explorer 9.
PS: Even in Internet Explorer 8, the problem persists. It doesn't happen in firefox.

  • Run report through internet explorer

When I click on run web layout in reports builder 10g internet explorer does not come up at all. It tries to do something because I see the hour glass and then it just stops. The paper layout works fine. But the web layout is not running. I have the OC4J running. If anybody can help me I will apprecaite it. Thanks

So you are running forms from netscape and want to view report output in IE?
It seems that netscape is set as your default browser. In IE you can set a flag so that it alsways checks for being the default browser (see Internet Options/Programs, at the bottom). Check this flag and restart IE. It should then prompt you if it is not the default browser.

  • Missing lines in Report with Internet Explorer

    Hello,
if I use the IE6 or IE7 I have some problems with displaying reports.
Here you can see it with IE6:

    And here with Firefox:
    http://www.abload.de/img/firefox45zs.png
I am using APEX 3.2.1.00.10 and the Theme 20.
I hope somebody can me help.
    Regards,
    Mark

    Hi,
This is due to IE6/7 not using the "emptyCells" property (available from IE8). Any cell that contains no data is not rendered (including the borders).
In the report's Report Attributes page is a setting "Show Null Values as". Enter something into this - perhaps a dash - to force the cell to have some content

Firstly, common error: missing closing HTML comment at the end of the <style> block (in the <head> section) so the browser thinks the entire page code is a HTML comment and ignores it all.
Always check that HTML comments are correctly closed, particularly inside <style> blocks.
    Around line 130
    change:
    .style75 {color: #CCCCCC}

    to:

The "-->" tells the browser that the HTML comment (ignored by browsers) is complete and the browser should start reading and displaying the code again in the browser window.
    See if that helps.

  • Blank page on Internet Explorer if PDF Output 2 pages

    Hi @all,
I have a problem with generating pdf reports over internet explorer.
I start the internet explorer with a url that calls a perl program. This program starts the oracle report server, generates the report and writes the output of the report back to the internet explorer over application/pdf.
This works all right when the pdf report contains more than 2 pages. But when the report is less than 2 pages I get a blank page, the acrobat reader is not startet and I get an error message after 3-4 minutes: There was a file input/output error. Timeout for the connection with the file.
Curious is that at the moment it works also fine on my PC but not on the PC of a collegue. We have identical configurations of Acrobat Reader 5.0 and Internet Explorer 6.0.
Can anybody help me with this problem? Why does it work with more than 2 pages and why not with less than 2 pages?

  • SSRS Report Data Caching Problem in Internet Explorer

    HI All,
We have setup reporting server in native mode and have deployed SSRS reports on reporting server and mapped it to sharepoint page with report viewer web part.
The changes on the data is not getting reflected on the report unless I close the browser completely and reopen the URL but at the same time for other rdl reportr, data is getting changed on same brower. so it doesn't seems to be the browser issue (not sure).
Also the both reports are almost same.
Any Idea Guys...whats happening with the report or how I can make it work to refresh data properly. I already have tried "Auto Refresh" option in rdl and it refreshes the browser but data doesn't gets refreshed. Also I had deleted cookies, clear the cache
but it also did not work for me.
Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Nipendra Garg

    Hi Nipendra Garg,
This might be caused by the refresh behavior of Internet Explorer. When visit a webpage with the same URL, IE may use an old version of this page which stored in browsing history.
If you're calling the report from a URL, add &rs:ClearSession=True. This will cause the browser to refresh the report every time it's called.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,
    Eileen

  • SSRS Extreme Slow Performance on Grouping / DrillDown Action with Internet Explorer

    Hi
I have an Infrastructure with SQL Server 2012 / SSRS 2012 / VS 2012 and IE 11 and custom authentication.
Reports can be opened in reasonable time, despite when they are grouped, they are silly slow (2-10 min for 1000 records).
I've already checked the other well known topics causing the same issue with stored procedure parameters and "keep together".
I think this could be a Internet Explorer Bug, because in SQL Server Profiler the queries are running fast (< 3sec.) and also the SSRS executionLog 2 shows fast performance. Unfortunately I can not try to compare it with another browser, because we need
    the Custom Authentication Module.
Surprisingly when I group the rows, but do not use the +/- symbols for drilldown, the report is processed in zero time, as well as when I have no grouping, just plain rows...
Any Idea? Could it be a security setting blocking something?
    Cheers Lu_F

    Hi Lu_F,
As per my understanding, there are grouping and drilldown report in the report, the report can run in reasonable time even through there is grouping, if you expand drilldown reports, the report runs very slowly.
Report server performance is affected by a combination of factors that include hardware, number of concurrent users accessing reports, the amount of data in a report, and output format. In this case, in would recommend you open the report in the Report Manager
from the Report Server machine, and check if the Drill-Down works as expected. If it works, please contact your network team to fix the network issue. By design, the Drill-Down uses JavaScript to do a postback to the report server to expand or collapse the
toggled items. If there has a network issue, the action will be a little slow.
In addition, in order to improve the performance of the report, we can split drilldown reports into parameterized drillthrough reports, because Drillthrough reports do not run until a user clicks the drillthrough link in the main report. Drilldown reports
process all data even when the data is first hidden. You can also add cache and snapshot for the report if you don’t need up-to-date results, this means that you will not see newest data until it is refreshed.

  • SSRS 2014 Printer Control Icon missing in Internet Explorer 11

I'm trying to determine what the latest status is with the printer control on Internet Explorer 11.
We have a Windows 2012 Server R2 running SQL 2014 and I've installed the latest report viewer distributable (2012 server.)
In IE 11 I still cannot see the printer control icon.
Is there a known, reliable fix for this or can I just assume that the printer icon is a pre-IE 11 feature?
    Thank You!

    Hi Bob,
Based on my understanding, printer button is not available when previewing the report in IE11.
In Reporting Service, each user who wants to use the print feature must download and install the ActiveX control that provides client print functionality. As we tested in our environment, with ActiveX control installed, the printer button is available in
IE11 (SSRS 2014 on Windows Server 2012 R2). So in your scenario, please check if you have installed Active control. If not, please enable the setting Download signed ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer, then you can install the required control. For more
information, please refer to steps below:
    1.Click Tools -> Internet options.
2.Switch to the Security tab, select the Trusted sites zone, and then click
    Sites.
3.Type the URL of Report Server, click Add, and then click
    Close .
4.Click the Custom level button, scroll to the ActiveX controls and plug-ins node.
5.Click Enable for Download signed ActiveX controls, and then click
    OK.
If issue persists, please check if value of EnableClientPrinting is True in SSMS. Please refer to the screenshot below:
    Reference:
Enable and Disable Client-Side Printing for Reporting Services
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
