St Andrews Exchange
I had an engineer scheduled for at BT Infinity 2 install today (6th August). The engineer arrived well within his allocated time, but on arrival he informed me that he may have an issue with the order as he had a previous issue with the same exchange. The engineer was able to successfully trace my number to the exchange but on inspection within the cabinet the engineer discovered that the fibre tails were present within the cabinet but were not labeled or numbered. This meant he could not complete the job as he was unable to identify which connection to make. In other words the fibre roll out to the cabinet was incomplete, it is impossible for any customer to be connected to fibre within the cabinet. The engineer also noted that the overall state of the cabinet was extremely poor, he also noted there were 3 cabinets and he thought this might mean one of the cabinets was due to be replaced. A job he reckoned would take several weeks!!
I called BT to ask about this, and was informed that the job had not been handed back to BT engineering so you were unable to advise on the next step, and I would need to wait until the end of the day for any updates. You can imagine my frustration about this, and grave concern this order/issue will not be quickly resolved. It also means I will have to take more time off work at a later date, once the exchange mess has been sorted out, to complete the order.
The engineer (sub contractor) also mention that a few of his fellow engineers had refused to work on the cabinet as it was in such poor state (he showed me the pictures, a total rats nest of cables!!)
So I guess the question is if the fibre install has not been completed, why are orders being accepted ??
Well I got a call back on the 14th and arranged for an engineer visit for today (18th) between 8am and 1pm . Engineer turned up at 12:15pm, and we chatted about his last visit. He informed me that the cabinet was looking better and now neat and tiidy. I advised him that I had seen Openreach vans working on the cabinet for 4 straight days so it should be neater. He put his meter on tmy line and was happy to report there was no longer a short on the line. Off he pops to connect the fibre. About 90 mins later he returns and informs me he has spent the last 30 mins talking to his control office telling them that the fibre connection has NOT been completed, and he then tells me that he cannot compelte the install. Hiis control office had been advised that the fibre installation had been completed today ...LIES !!! Engineer looked at me, apologised and said he had no idea how long it would take to resolve.
I'll say this right now, this is a complete and utter FARCE !!! To say I'm annoyed is an understatment. I had to take time off work AGAIN for this install today, and now it looks like I will have to take ANOTHER day off work when BT sort themselved out and finish off the fibre install PROPERLY THIS TIME.
Hoping Paddy or one of the other forum admins can pick this up and get it sort once and for all !!!

No daily exchange rate defined for rate type Corporate
We are entering a transaction in AR for currency XDR (Nav Path in Receivables: Transactions->Transactions; Form Name: ARXTWMAI, FOrm Version: 11.0.62).
The currency XDR is supposed to be IATA Rate related and has nothing to do with Corporate Exchange Rate (i.e. Bank rate). We have IATA Rate and Corporate conversion rate types (Nav Path in Receivables: Setup->Financials->Currencies->Rates->Conversion Type).
While entering the transaction, we get this message:
"FRM-40735: ON-INSERT trigger raised unhanled exception ORA-20000.
ORA-20000: GLMCCURB: There is no daily exchange rate defined from XDR to MUR for MAY-00 for rate type Corporate.

We checked the Daily Rates from XDR to MUR (Nav Path in Receivables: Setup->Financials->Currencies->Rates->Daily) and it shows only IATA rates, which is correct since XDR is not for Corporate rate type.
What we don't understand is why the error message prompts for an exchange rate to be defined from XDR to MUR for rate type Corporate.
Where is it defined that the transaction should look for rate type Corporate? Should I define it to look for IATA rate type for such kind of transaction?

1.For the first message, please check to your DBA, maybe there is some patches should apply.
2. For the error msg APP-01728: An assignment does not exist for these parameters. Do you use document sequence number ? If Yes, make sure your document sequence has been assigned to proper SOB, and then please check profile option for Sequential Numbering. The Sequential Numbering profile should Partially Used or Always Used.

Not sure if this will make any difference, but there are 2 domains on exchange one is mail.domain1.com and another is webmail.domain.com
we have added another owa virtual directory for the second domain when we were having issues but i think since we are having a problem on the first domain owa, the second one will have the same.
just wondering why ecp can still work when owa doesnt. outlook clients can connect and so are phones.

Is there GroupWise to Exchange 2007 gateway support yet?
I saw earlier posts that indicated that there may be Exchange 2007 support
in the future. Has anyone got an update? Is it out, is it in beta, any

Intermittent trouble deleting, moving & sending (Exchange 2007 & iPhone 3G)
Here's my setup:
I have a Microsoft Server 2008 with Exchange 2007 SP1 running at the office. Firewall forwards the following ports to the server:
25 (SMTP)
587 (SMTP Secure)
110 (POP3)
995 (POP3 Secured)
143 (IMAP)
993 (IMAP Secured)
80 (Ahsay Backup Software)
8080 (Alternate HTTP for IIS 7)
443 (HTTPS)
6001-6004 (RPC over HTTP, for Outlook)
Exchange Server is running fine and has a self-signed certificate. I've installed this certificated to client PCs and they all connect to Outlook just fine. OWA is working fine as well. I even went as far as installing the certificate on the iPhone.
The iPhone fails at auto discovery, but that's probably because I never set it up correctly in the server. It then asks for the server, and I give it and specify SSL set to "ON" and the connection seems to be fine. Running 2.2 firmware on all of our iPhones and PUSH email via the Exchange server works great.
The problem comes when users try to delete emails, move emails to another folder, or send emails. I believe deleting a message is the same as moving a message to another folder, so I guess I only have 2 problems. Moving messages and sending messages. I can receive messages just fine. I've tried multiple things, from reconfiguring the mail settings, hard reboots, and even factory restores. But, the problem remains. Sometimes I'll have to delete a message or a group of messages 3 or 4 times before it will actually delete. The message that appears says it's unable to move the message. This had been happening for a few months now, but I just now got time to look into it.
I've hooked one of the iPhones up to Apple's iPhone configuration utility. I put the device into airplane mode and turned on WiFi, that way I would be on the internal LAN in order to rule out the firewall and a bad signal or faulty internet connection. With the iPhone connected to a wireless router and that same router wired directly to our server, I get the same results I get from remote location's WiFi network or the 3G network. Sometimes messages will send or delete immediately and other times it will take 3, 4, 5 or more tries. While in airplane mode, and the device attached to the same LAN as the server, I tell the iPhone to delete a message in the inbox, and this is what is output to the console:

The fix was to disable TCPIP v6 and also add a registry entry to disable it via the registry as well. After doing so, the website https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com no longer complained about not being able to ping port 6004. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with my original problem on the iPhone, but it is something I did differently this time around.
That's all I can remember for the time being... With my new setup, however, my issue has been resolved and I'm very relieved.

Exchange rate VS contolling area
Hi,
I have a scenario:
Controlling area: 0001 controlling currency:USD
Company Code Local currency Controlling area
=========================================
1000 SGD 0001
2000 RMB 0001
3000 KRW 0001
4000 AUD 0001
5000 MYR 0001
6000 PHP 0001
And so on.
Shoud I MUST maintain the exchange rate between these currencies? Why?

Actually,this issue comes from our current system problem. we added a new company code in the system with the same controlling area. For the new company,everything is ok. but for an old company,FI posting does not work since the new company added(we can't do any FI transaction).And the system give us an error message. It looks like:

Diagnosis
For the conversion of an amount into another currency, an entry is missing in the currency conversion table.
Procedure
Add the missing entry in the currency conversion table.
Execute function
after we maintain the exchange rate between SGD and KRW,it is working now. But we don't know what is the root reason. Why the new company code works fine before maintained the exchange rate.
New company local currency is :SGD
The old company local currency is :KRW

Apple Mail 6.2 Exchange 2010 Delete Fail
When deleteting an email in Apple Mail 6.2 setup to use Exchange 2010 with MAPI, the following error message is displayed:
The message "X" could not be moved to the mailbox "Trash folder name".
An error occurred while moving messages to mailbox "Trash folder name".
To reproduce this problem I loaded a mailbox with 30k of emails. I then deleted 4000 messages, and while the client was still syncing (visibly you could see it syncing the activity window) - I deleted some of the same messages again.
The sync process stopped, the activity window stopped showing any activity and my emails which were previously marked for deletion remained visible.
Now when I try to delete the emails I previously deleted, I receive the error as above and the messages are not deleted.
If I delete other messages that were not previously marked for deletion I do not receive the error.
To remove the messages that were causing the error I had to "Command-X" to cut them from the folder and bypass the trash.Hi Andrew,
I tried to understand your message but failed to. I'm sorry. Just clicking "rebuild" worked for me to restore behavior that hadn't been working. It only took a few seconds.
That said, it was only days later that all of my correspondance stored on the Exchange server disappeared, and 123Together, my Exchange service provider, said "Since you are on a Mac the database may gotten corrupted and synched to the server that is why the data in the mailbox and subfolder you may not see. We can have our admin do a restore of the mailbox as we can go back for a restore point up to 5 days, there is a admin fee of 160.00 hr anywhere from 1-3 hours of work please let us know if you would like to proceed." I was not happy.
So I probably agree with what you are saying!

Exchange 2013 Co-Existence Fail
I went ahead, installed new 2 multi-role exchange 2013 servers. Followed the exchange deploy assist. setup external urls, updated exchange 2010 outlook-anywhere, bla bla, changed dns to proxy through my 2013 servers. All services were fine,
except outlook clients with mailboxes still on 2010.

I found and read this article and it seems to describe my problem. Pretty ticked that the deployment assist didn't say anything about it.
None of my external outlook anywhere clients can connet anymore. I have pretty much reversed as much as possible and 'removed' exchange 2013 out of the mix, my fqdn points back to my Exchange 2010 again, but still external OA cannot connect.

My problem is with 2013 mailboxes that have migrated. I have a 2013 mailbox but it cannot connect, why I do not know. its mailbox is in a 2013 database on a 2013 mailbox server using outlook 2013. I have removed profile, readded (autodiscover

Lync 2010 Integration with Exchange Online UM
Hi All,
Recently I have got the project to integrate Lync 2010 with Exchange Online UM, I have gone through the TechNet article but it seems very confusing and things are not very clear, can some please please help me out in this that how to setup this, what ports
do I need to allow from on premises to Exchange online UM.
There are some other questions as well which is not clear from TechNet.
1. Create SRV record, when I create the SRV record in external dns then in the host providing this service will be access edge fqdn is this correct.
2. Configure Edge Server for federation (do I need to run this on Edge server or on Lync FE Servers, I believe on FE SErvers is this correct, if yes then do I need to run the setup again on Edge server by exporting Topology or the replication will
do the needful)
3. To Create a hosting provider do I need to run this command on Edge or on Lync FE Servers.
4. To create a hosting provider you need to run the command
New-CsHostingProvider -Identity Fabrikam.com -Enabled $True -EnabledSharedAddressSpace $True -HostsOCSUsers $False -ProxyFQDN "proxyserver.fabrikam.com" -IsLocal $False -VerficationLevel UseSourceVerification
now from the above command -Identity what will be the Identity name it can be any thing or it should be some thing related to exchange online um.
for -proxyfqdn what will be the FQDN name here, from where I can get this name
5. Do I need to add or remove any domain names in office 365 if yes then what domain names it will be
6. If my sip address is abc.com then do I have to add this domain name in exchange online or do I need to add another domain name how this setup will be
7. if I will create any new domain in the dns in office 365 then do I need to add this domain name in my external dns if yes then which ip it will be pointed to.
Please guys help me out as I m new to exchange um online and I have never integrated it before.

Front End and will be replicated to the Edge servers. As long as your Edge servers are replicating successfully theere is no need to do a manual import.
3. Run this PowerShell on the Front End
4. Identity is a name to identify the hosting provider such as "Exchange Online". See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398490.aspx
proxyfqdn for Exchange Online is exap.um.outlook.com
5. Your SIP domain will need to be added a a vanity domain in Office 365
6. Same as above, just add as vanity domain
7. Any added domains need to be setup as per Office 365 documentation, nothing special needs to be done for UM integration.

Error while Provisioning a user to Exchange:Configuration OIM 9.1 & JBOSS

I am facing the below error while provisioning a user to Exchange. The Resource gets provisioned. But inside the resource, two tasks (Create User & Set Mailbox) are rejected. When i retry these tasks, the Resource status is set to Revoked in the Resource Profile of OIM. The AD Provisioning is working fine. There are 2 AD IT Resources here. Database is Oracle 10g.

Cannot send email from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013
Hello Anyone,
Anyone can help? I've prepare MS Exchange 2013 already, for Migration MS Exchange 2007 and I got the issue.
My issue is I can't send email from Exchange 2007 to Exchagen 2013, but for Exchange 2013 can send email to Exchange 2007,
is my issue only internal email for external email both Exchange server is working fine.

Cannot send email from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 - Coexistence
Existing Exchange 2007 SP3 1 MBX, 2 CAS/HT, 2 ET servers.
I have added an Exchange 2013 server with MBX/CAS role.
Email will flow from Ex2013 server no problem. Mail from Ex2007 systems cannot deliver to Ex2013 boxes, it dies in queue with a 4.4.7 expired message after issuing a delay message.
I can telnet to ports 25, 587,717,465,475, and 2525 from Ex2007 HT role to new Exchange 2013 server. I can send email from Ex2007 HT role server to new Exchange 2013 server using telnet to port 25.
A ‘get-mailbox’ from the Ex2007 HT role server returns the server and database properly on the test users on Exchange 2013 server.
The only strange thing I am seeing is from the Ex2007 systems, a ‘get-exchange server’ command shows the new Ex2013 server as role ‘16439’ which looks to perhaps be normal.
Why is email not flowing to the new users on Exchange 2013?You should have exchange server authentication ticked in Default Receive connector in Exchange2007.
Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013 in the same subnet/network. if not please check any spam agent running between the networks. Are you running antispam on Exchange2013 ?

IPhone Deletes Exchange Emails To Wrong Folder
Hello all!
I have a Microsoft Exchange mail account setup on my iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1) which works wonderfully, short of one aspect: Emails deleted from my phone do not go to the accounts standard 'Trash' folder, but to a different 'Deleted' folder. I can see no way to change this setting. Any ideas?Thanks Templeton. This is the only definitive answer I've found anywhere. Turns out my iPhone was correct and my other email clients are sending to the wrong folder!
