Vijay,
A couple swaps a day are OK. SAP says anything below 10,000/ day is acceptable. However, I know some people like to have no swaps at all.
Unfortunatly there are no set numbers to put for these parameters. It really depends on your system and environment such as how much memory do you have, programs running on your system, what the users are running, and so on.
This really becomes an art more then a science. My suggestion is to start incresing the paramteres by 10%. If it doesn't seem to be making that much of a difference increase by 20 or 30% if your system can handle it. Keep this up until you are comftorable with the number of swaps you see.
Hope this helps.

I will really appriciat your answer
Regards,

ST02 is meant for Abap stack memory.
If you select current parameters in ST02, you can see the relevant parameters.
I could sense the parameter values are low and there are more swaps per each buffer area.
You need to follow trial and error method to increase the buffer values to get a better match values.

• Tuner Switch (swap) Button on Remote not working

Just had FIOS TV installed a few weeks ago - I have the Home Media DVR, HD Receiver, SD Receiver, and 3 adapters. For some reason the "Change" button on the bottom right of the remote does nothing when trying to switch or swap tuners on the Home Media DVR. Since I can't find documentation in the remote manual on this button I'm not sure what to do. Is it just not implemented yet? Is it working for others? What about the PIP button next to it? Is this supposed to work now or possibly in the future? Thanx for any help.

Realezy, I totally get what you are asking. When I had TIVO with DirecTV we could swap between the two tuners. Here you had the ability to watch show 1 and then rewind and fast forward etc. and then swap to show 2 and then rewind fast forward etc. All of this without recording.
My wife loved that feature when Idol and Dancing with the stars was on. She was able to rewind, play and fast forward each show and never miss any part of the show because TIVO gave you the ability to select which tuner you wanted to watch and then rewind, ff, play.
Its a good question that we have not been able to easily identify which channel each tuner is on so we can than fast forward or rewind or play on that channel. There is a way to tell if you can rewind but I haven't been able to figure out if tuner 1 is changing its channel or if tuner 2 is changing its channel or if you are going between tuner 1 and tuner 2.
Anyone? I hope this makese sense.

• SAP System run slowly

Dear all,
Our DB Instance always run very slowly and update process
responding time is very long during month end.
I think this maybe due to it runs the database and application.
So I want to delete the DB Instance from Logon Group, and then users
will just access other else three Dialog Instances, is it Ok or what
impact will have ?
How to check PI system connected to SAP ECC Logon Group's IP , but not only
connected to the DB Instance ?
Users always need run many Background Jobs at the day,but I heard other
company almost only allow users run Background Jobs at the night.
Generally, how many background jobs running on one Instance is normal?
Do we have any good ways to control or limit users' background job
setting at the day ?
The dialog and update process numbers of DB Instance are respectively 80 and 6(Update & Update2) , other Dialog Instance is 50:4(Batch:Update)
How is the general ratio between dialog and update process numbers ?
what's the difference between update and update2 process ?
Thanks,
Michael

• ST02 analysis

Hi,
Can any body give a detailed analysis of ST02 Tune buffers screen. I always look only for swaps
and hit ratio. But I am aware that the analysis of SAP memory like roll area, paging area, extended memory can be done with ST02. Please explain me.
Thanks in advance,

Hello Sadiq,
I agree with the previous post, I'm afraid there is no quick fix for this, especially since we cannot see all of these red entries.
If your errors are purely in memory management on SAP side, you should consider posting in the CST "memory management" part of this forum
Advise from a DB2 perspective is to make sure that all memory specific setting are correct as per note:
899322 DB6: DB2 9.1 Standard Parameter Settings
After setting these parmeters and carrying out further fine tuning yourself, you should consider scheduling an early watch session from SAP.
Best of luck,
Paul

• I Tunes U - Possible to edit RSS feed produced by podcast producer?

Hi people. Two questions
I have a self hosted i tunes u on mac server. Is it possible to edit rss feeds once they have been published by podcast producer? eg remove particular tracks from a particular feed or rename as track for instance?
Also when i tunes u is actually accessed through the interface no track time information is visible for any of of the podcasts? is this a common problem? and does anyone know how to solve it?
Thanks
Nick

Your 'tunes:summary' in the top section of the feed has several instances of the string
<br/>
You should remove these. You cannot have < or > within a tag and the code won't do either.
The URL in the 'itunes:image' tag includes an aompersand ('&') and this can cause trouble. You should change it to the wrod 'and' in the filename and in the feed (or call it something simpler, no-one sees the filename).
Your 'itunes:summary' and 'itunes:subtitle' tags for the episode have various codes in them - all starting &# something - iTunes will display these codes, not render them, and you should not use them. These tags should contain plain text, no html. This won't render the feed unreadable the way the other errors do, but it looks messy.

• Swap bufer

Hi
In st02 transaction code swap shows in red colour how can i remove & avoid?

HI,
Since more data had been fed into the server, it needs more space to hold in buffer while retrieving the data. Since buffer is shot in space, swap memory will be used. It is not enough to increase the buffer and that does not mean tuning, tuning in the sense full analysis of the problem and working in that particular area to resolve the issue. For example, creation of index, data archival, availability of statistics, alotting of no. of work process, etc.
since each buffer holds different values, wherever the red alert is there change the parameter value.
parameter profile to be increased (in RZ10)

WOw ... Very unreadable format ... Can you repost question ... About time outs are you check the st03n load and know from here this long execution's are coming ? The DB you have are ?
The box is a Windows Server with 4GB of memory allocated to it
are is 32 bit? How you divided this 4 GB (how much for DB and for Application server)
The 4 GB is to small are you trying for testing increae the rdisp/max_wprun_time ?
Any other information?

• MEMORY_NO_MORE_PAGING problem

Hi,
I need help with this issue:
I am facing a MEMORY_NO_MORE_PAGING problem, and I don't know how to solve it. This problem is happening often during the week.
As an example I pasted on DUMP log. In addition, at the beginning I pasted the screen information of transaction ST02.
I have already checked the disk space and itu2019s ok, there is plenty of free space.
Best regards,
Fernando.

Hi,
After the first chart that displays the actual system memory status you can find the system parameters. The rdisp/PG_MAXFS as you can see is deactivated and his default value is 32768.
It should stay deactivated or I need to bring it active?
