ST03 issue
Hello,
In transaction ST03, I am unable to see any recent dates. The dates I see are of 2006.
Is there any report I need to run to populate the tables of Workload analysis?

You need to make sure that your REORG jobs are running correctly, specially SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR.

ST03 Visualization Issue - Application Server Missing
Hi Gurus.
I've a strange issue related to the Workload analysis.
When I call transaction ST03N I see in the the workload only the Central Instance.....Application Server is missing.
I've checked the SAPWLSERV table and both server are listed here.
What I'm noticing is that no entry are found in table SWNCMONI nor in SWNCMONIINDEX.
Well, it's not correct at all...I found an old entry of last february, but nothing more!
Already checked the time_zone also....everything seems to be corretly configured.
Any Ideas?

Performance Issue for BI system

We are facing performance issues for BI System. Its a preproductive system and its performance is degrading badly everyday. I was checking system came to know program buffer hit ratio is increaasing everyday due to high Swaps. So asked to change the parameter abap/buffersize which was 300Mb to 500Mb. But still no major improvement is found in the system.
There is 16GB Ram available and Server is HP-UX and with Netweaver2004s with Oracle 10.2.0.4.0 installed in it.
The Main problem is while running a report or creating a query is taking way too long time.

Error while execting Tcodes ST04,ST03,DB12,DB02

I had installed QAS & DEV instances successfully on one windows host.Below are the syste details.

I am facing problem while executing transactions related to database i.e st04,st03,db12,db02.
After executing this transactions I received followng dumps.
1) Runtime Errors DBIF_DSQL2_SQL_ERROR
Exception CX_SY_NATIVE_SQL_ERROR

I have seen the note#741119, it asks to apply pack SAPKB64004, but its says its valid for Release 640 only. My release is 640 currently:

I am in BI 7.0 SP16
The problem is like this:
when i go to the TC st03 and under the BIWorkload we will have the option for day, week and month..
when i click the option i am getting an run time error raised_exception.so indor to find where is the error, so I went to the buisness content-> i went to the virtual cube Front-End and OLAP Statistics (Aggregated)[0TCT_VC01] , when i want to display the data, i am getting the warning and error
Warning: There is still no datasource assigned to virtual provider.
Error: Error reading the data of Info provider 0TCT_VC01.
the day before what i had done is like i want to see the performance of the query
so i went to Turn on the BW Statistics: RSA1, choose Tools -> BW statistics for InfoCubes for all and in aggregates option all.......
then i went to st03 under the BIWorkload, i checked the work load for today ...i can see all the statistics like olap time, db time and fornt end time........there is no prolem nor exception till end of the day... when i came today the problem is araised.....
so what could be the problem and how could i can solve this problem?
can any one help inthis issue by giving step by step procedure.........

-are you using a rewriterproxy? And changed this one as well?
-what log file are you taking about, the gateway log? Try raising the debug level of the gateway error->message
-never done this, but maybe check the cookie domains on the portal server to also include this hostname? -
Please solve a mystery for me involving the Reporting Analysis View in ST03

Happy 2008 to everyone! We are trying to improve query performance. I have found lots of helpful documentation telling me to use ST03. All of the documents have instructed me to use the following navigation:
1. Run ST03.
2. Choose the Expert user mode.
3. Choose the period to be analyzed in the BI Workload tree.
4. Under Analysis Views, choose the profile Reporting.
HERE IS THE MYSTERY: my screen does NOT display a profile called "Reporting". We cannot find it anywhere on the screen. What am I missing? Any assistance would be greatly appeciated!

try to use st03 from other user id ... if u can get it ... ur colleague or just bother them and see the st03 result at their pc
if it bring s the result to their pc then for sure u have authorizaiton problem.....
as the authorization objects are maintained differently at each company i am not sure about how it works at ur place....
(authorization is nothing but for each transaction and for acess to each transaction and several data providers, authorization objects are created for each of them and then they are assigned to ur user id...... for eg. sarahjc now if there is some st03 authorization objects are there and if they are not assigned to ur user id , then they must if u wanna use that transaction.....)
u can check authorization object to ur user id by using transaction SU01.... and if u know that someone else is getting result in st03 transaction then using su01 u can compare authorization objects to each user id and analyse what is missing .... -
Performance Issue in Order.jsp
Hi Folks,
I am facing a performance issue in the CRM system. When I try to transfer 500 items from the Product catalog to the order, it takes around 8 mins.
The expectation is max of 1 min.
We are performing the ATP check via ECC and pricing via IPC. I would like to have your suggestions as to how I could improve this performance.

DeepikaFrankly, you may never be able to achieve that kind of benchmark.
But it is still worthwhile to trace for performance. Check the time taken by the (ABAP calls) components in the "Add to basket" action. The ISA runtime log will be very useful. Perform ABAP trace in the backend ST03, ST05 etc.

What is this business scenario that expects a customer to select 500 catalog items in one shot and transfer to the basket. To me, it looks very highly unlikely scenario - unless you want to explain
If this is a kind of customerr specific view and you expect the customers to select all of the items in their view and load in one shot, you can design upload capability with ofline order create.

REPORTING THIS ERROR FOR ANOTHER CLIENT
I am having some performance issues, only from a response point of view.AT times the users just hangs and then all of a sudden it comes back to normal again.
I am running crm 4.0 on windows with oracle 9.2
I have advance server installed on my db server and windows 2003 installed on my apps server. I just lately installed an apps server , thinking that the load was too heavy.I am still having issues.
On my Db server, i Have 8.4 gigs of mhysical memory and on my apps servers, I Have 3.0 gigs of physical memeory.
I have looked at tcode st02 on both my db server and apps server. I have no swappign issues.
My only issue on sto2 on my db server is that I have almost 6 gigs ofextended memory free with a max of 1.3 extended gigs in use.
There is still however 714.424 in heap memory.

When goign into smlg , my response on my apps server show 2.75 seconds and on my db it shows 12,975 seconds ( this in st03 shows about 6.8 seconds)

Issue in st03n reagarding workload analysis

this is a fresh system and i only have sap application enterprise with oracle backend...
my issue is that i am able to execute BI tcodes in ECC too...and i am missing with BI content.
so no BI content in RSOR..but there some cubes and dso's..
so when i navigate to tcode st03 and want to analyze todays workload it prompts me that 0TCT_MC01 not exists so reporting not possible..
so can anyone help me in loading the BI content and i can activate the BI content through RSOR.so after that what steps can i doo to analyze for datahi ravichandhrana......
i know i should run on BI...
but i am able to access the tcodes in sap R3 related to BI...
so now my issue is can i install BI content here in SAP r3..i know this basis question..by i didnt find basis forum.so what asking here... -
Average Response Time Different in SLR/EWA (in solman) and ST03 (in satelli

We find that the average dialog response time shown in SLR and EWA reports of Solman is much lower (250 ms) whereas the dialog response time shown in ST03 transaction of the system (XI instance) is high 2000 ms.
Which one is correct and how can I correlate these two values if both are right in their own way.

The data source is ST03, therefore unless there is an issue with the collectors, you should assume the ST03 data is correct.
Pleae run RTCCTOOL on the managed system and ensure ST-PI and ST-A/PI are current.. Also make sure your SAPOSCOL is current.
There is a possibility that there was an error during preparing the transport to send the data back to Solution Manager, so scan the SDCCN task logs for any errors/warnings on the managed system. You can also check the transport to see what vaues are being returned to Solman's service session. If the have the same value as ST03 at this point, then there is an issue witht eh EWA/SLR provcessing. If the data is not the same here as ST03 then there was an issue with the SDCCN tasks.
If the data collection is not at issue and the transfering of that data to Solution Manager service session had no errors, then Please follow Jared's recommendation, as this would then be an issue processing the service sessions, and this could be due to outstanding Service Content updates. This can be checked with transaction code AGS_UPDATE.

also the system date its showing in st03 t code the date i get is 20-10-2006 i am not getting my current date
how to solve this issue pls help me friends

EWA Report Issue: No complete data is populated in EWA report
Hi All,
I am facing a problem where in, the generated EWA report for our XI system is not poplated with the complete data. This problem is there from past 2 months and before that this EWA report for XI system was duly generated with full and correct data.
There has been no changes in the recent time and all of a sudden this problem erupt. May any one help me in diagnosing this problem and solving it? Help is greatly appreciated.

Last time I asked you if the Red flag was gone.
You are saying the ABAP data is missing.
This would mean there is a Rated EWA report missing the ABAP instance data.
Does this mean it is a dual stack and the Java data is present.
EWA is a pretty straight forward process, so if you follwo the process, you can usually narrow down where the problem has occurred.
If ABAP data is missing in a generated EWA report, the first place to look for that missing data is in the service session.
You can view the service session by clicking the eye glasses under tha activity column in DSWP, or entering the session number in transaction DSA. If the data is mssing, then it never got to solution manger from the managed system, so you would then check the RFC functions and the RFC user has a valid logon, THere would be no point checking SM:EXEC:SERRVICES, or authorizations if the data is not int he service session.
If the data is in the service session and is missing, then it would be in the processing of the session into a Word ot HTML document, not the processing of the service session, because it would be processed and rated already by SM:EXEC SERVICES..
I had explained that you create an EWA and it is scheduled in DSWP > Solution Monitoring > Earlywatch Alert
it creates a service session, with a number and a tree. This is determined by the defintions in SMSY and the mapping to the DMD. It is scheduled for a date and time. On the managed system via RFC throught the maintenance package task in SDCCN or perhaps a scheduled refresh session taask, runs and via RFC to SOlman, logs on with the RFC use (SM*_BACK) and gets the
session numbers of unprocessed servies sessions for that SID. If it can't open the service session, it will just find not sessions to refresh. If it can, then an EWA task is created that will prepare a transport with the collected data. So if the collectors have issues, data won't be available. ST-A/PI and ST-PI are involved on colelction of data and preparation for transport on managed systems. But there is also SAPOSCOL and ST03 and ST06 that need to be checked. The SDCCN EWA task log. Then it sends the data back to Solman via the RFC and either the single Flask or the red flag will then turn to 2 flasks indicating the data is ready to be processed by SM:EXEC SERVICES. SM:EXEC SERVICES processes the session, populates it, and rates it.
Then you can look at the session in DSA o DSWP, you can geerate the report in Word or HTML.
So this is the process.flow overview. And it helps to know where it gets to in the flow to determine where something went missing or if it was ever there at all.SM:EXEC SERVICES doesn't colelc the data. So if it processes a service session the user had the authorizations. If the data is not int he service session its because it was never passed to Solution manage.
Iif the data is in thd service session, but missing from the report, then the issue is likely with ST-SER, or perhaps SCU.update has not been applied.
I suspect that the data is not in the service session and you are still having issues. Is the EWA still red flagged? Yes or No?
If yes, then you still have an issue where no ABAP data was sent via SDCCN to Solman. If no, then likely there is an issue with
collection, where data is being sent, but some data is missing, and this could be due to errors that have not been addressed in the SDCCN task logs. Or it could be problems wit SDCCN service definitions, and may need to be replaced.

I found high GUI time in ST03.

I found 1280ms Roll wait time and 1280 GUI time. It seems too high. How can I find what cause it? how can I locate the root case?

Here are the few things to check when the GUI time is high.
1. Check in ST03--> Transaction Profile the Tx SESSION_MANAGER may be on top id yes, the load caused by the transaction SESSION_MANAGER, combined with the high roll in + wait time could indicate that the SAP Easy Access menu might not be configured correctly and should be tuned to improve overall response times. It is also possible that your users have been assigned disproportionately large user menus. We advise you to ensure there are a reasonable number of entries (nodes) in the User Menu.
Generally, its recommended that users should have no more than 1000 and as an absolute maximum 2000 menu nodes configured, (for comparison, the complete SAP menu contains 70,000 entries). A high number of entries may lead to high memory consumption on the server and to long response times for the menu. Refer to SAP Notes 203617 and 203994 for details
2. ST06 --> Detail Analysis Menu --> Lan check by Ping with more than 10 Presentation
servers.
See the Average and Loss coloumn and check wether is there any problem exits.
However, review the following recommendations to identify any network issues. Given below are the response times which are thresholds for a good network performance.
Recommendation: Characteristic response times are:
- In a local area network (LAN) : <20 milliseconds
- In a "fast" Wide Area Network (WAN) (for example, 256 or 384 KBit/sec): < 50 milliseconds
- In a "slow" wide area network (WAN) (For example, 128 KBit/sec or less): < 250 milliseconds
- Losses of data packets ("Loss") should not occur at all.
Review SAP Notes 203924 (under subheading 'General Performance Analysisu2019), 8963 and 578118 for further information on SAP GUI and response time components.
In case of long response times due to performance problems in the network (in particular when using SAPGUI in WAN), you should use configuration "Low Speed Connection" in SAPLOGON. As a result, menus are only transferred on request, and the quantity of the transferred data is reduced correspondingly. This measure reduces the network load significantly. You can find this setting option under: SAPLOGON -> PROPERTIES -> ADVANCED.
Option for a low speed connection:
On a low speed connection (LSC) to the network, the benefits of the improved interaction design may be outweighed by increased response times due to the heavier network traffic. To counterbalance this effect, SAP has introduced the option for a low speed connection to the network in Release 4.6. A flag can be set in the options of an SAP logon connection item or on the SAP GUI command line. This action has the following effects:
- Menus are loaded only on demand as before
- Background Bitmaps are not transferred (depending on the application)
- The list control transfers only the lines that are visible on the screen
- The application can query the flag to react to the network condition individually.
Examine the following SAP Notes and verify that the SAP recommendations contained are fully implemented:
- SAP Note Number 161053 Low Speed Connection is in use
- SAP Note Number 164102 Network load between application servers +camera front end
- SAP Note Number 62418 Network Load of SAPGUI Frontend Communication (Required Bandwidth).

Hello,
After a botleneck on our production system we noticed that average Roll Wait Time (ms) was very high = 25.218,8.
We are still investigating the root cause of this bootleneck to avoid future issues...
Do you have any idea about what tasks are included on OTHER type and where the error couls be?

High Roll Wait Time in transactions points to Network/CPIC related issues. Refer SAP Note 1100926 (FAQ: Network performance) , 38682 (Parameter settings for RFC) && 63476 (Response times too high for CPIC/RFC in ST03) to get more information.
Also Perform RFC trace to get the details about the Program/Gunction modules for which high roll wait time is seen. More Data has been requested by any transactions/FMs via RFCs ?
Consult your Network Team to diagnose any packet drops or any bottlenecks in Network links.
