ST03N does not current day statistics

Hi all,
We've just graded our system from 4.6C to ECC6.0. However, when we execute ST03N, it does not show the current day statistics. It will only shows 2 days ago statistics, that is, on 29th Dec it shows statistics up to 27th Dec and on 28th Dec it shows stat up to 26th Dec.
We've checked all collector jobs are run successfully with no error.
Anybody has any idea on how to resolve this problem.
Points will be rewarded with solution.
Thanks and regards,
Mei Ling

Hello Mei Ling,
most probably the time zone settings in client 000 is not correct. Note 926290 describes this problem.

• ST03N does not show reporting statistics

Dear all,
For a NW04s BI7.0 system I am asked to setup the technical content for BI statistics. As stated in this forum, ST03N now uses the InfoCubes to display the statistics instead of tables like RSDDSTAT_OLAP and RSDDSTAT_DM.
I have activated all business content for the statistics and I have loaded the cubes with data using the process chains, but there are no reporting statistics available in ST03N.
When I choose "BI workload", I only see "Load data" and "Process Chains" under "Analysis Views" tree, but no "Reporting".
Does anyone know how to make the reporting part visible in ST03N?
Thanks in advance,
Steven Groot

Hi Steven,
Our system has the following components:
SAP_ABA 700 0011 SAPKA70011 Cross-Application Component
SAP_BASIS 700 0011 SAPKB70011 SAP Basis Component
PI_BASIS 2005_1_700 0011 SAPKIPYJ7B PI_BASIS 2005_1_700
SAP_BW 700 0012 SAPKW70012 SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0
BI_CONT 703 0005 SAPKIBIIP5 Business Intelligence Content
Based on this, I would think you do not need to apply any newer support packages, SP12 should be fine for BI Content patch level 5.
2-3 months ago when we applied patch 5, also 7 was available but our Basis person said we cannot go for 6 and 7 as those would require applying newer support packages as well.
Unfortunately I have no other idea on how to solve the problem that you have. I just know that I had lots of problems with BI content 703 with no patches and 80% of these problems have disappeared with patch 5.
Please keep us posted if you manage to solve this issue any way.
Thanks and regards,
Csaba

• ST03N does not show Infopackage statistics

Hi all,
For a NW04s BI7.0 system I am asked to setup the technical content for BI statistics.
I have activated all business content for the statistics and I have loaded the cubes with data using the process chains, but there are no Infopackage statistics available in ST03N.
Does anyone know how to make the Infopackage visible under "Load data" node. I can able to see DTP under "Load data" node but not the infopackage. I have checked all the steps twice to make sure everything is correct.
FYI: Reporting,Process Chain and Load data(only DTP) nodes are visible under "Analysis Views" tree.
I am just wondering why the Infopackage statistics is not visible under the Load data node.
Any inputs will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Note: Able to login sqlplus using "sqlplus sys/sys as sysdba" but failing to access database table as "select * from PSRECDEFN;"

Hi Nicolas,
I have no luck and the error still persists.
I have set the "export ORACLE_SID=HCM" from root user and oracle user too.
I guess, I have already loaded database when I ran the "cd /opt/oracle/psft/vm
./oraclevm-template.sh"

Hi,
no, you got it wrong:
Oracle uses network services which are a logical representation of the database to resolve network requests.
in your ntsnames.ora file you have the following:
network_alias = my_alias -- here you can write anything you just need to resolve it correctly
(DESCRIPTION=
(ADDRESS=
(PROTOCOL=TCP)
(host=hostname or IP)
(port=listener adapter port)
) -- this a complete socket information of the listener adapter!!
(CONNECT_DATA=
(SERVICE=your_service) -- this is what you tell the listener about the service you want to connect to. It is defined in the instance with the paramter service_names
In general it is network aliasses which are resolved with connect descriptor in the tnsnames.ora.
A connect decriptor consists of the address part + the connect_data part.
The address part is used to reach the listener.
The connect_data part is the information you hand over to the listener.
So the listener must know the service name.
The listener can either know this from the instance itself. When an Oracle instance is started it tries to registrer itself with a listener which listens on port 1521 for the protocol TCP.
The instance tell this listener two paramater values: INSTANCE_NAME and SERVICE_NAMES. Then the listener knows the instance and which services are defined. It is just a reprentation of the database to the listener.
If the listerner knows the service requested with a connect, it can establish a connection to a service handler. This could be a dedicated server process or a dispatcher.
Another mehtod to let the listener know the service requested is so called static regustration of the instance. This is made with an SID LIST in the listener.ora file.
Then the listener knows SID for the instance plus ORACLE_HOME and can find the executable to start a server process for a connect request.
Hope it helps a little-.
=;-)

• TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor

Hi
I have installed 11g on Windows 7, the startup & shutdown of DB is normal.
But connecting to a particular DB is giving a problem:
ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor
in the listener.ora following entry is made:

Also tried using ALTER SYSTEM REGISTER;
still there is no connection being established.
following outputs i am getting while connecting:

I would suggest waiting a day or two. YouTube has their standard flash format that will play on a web browser, but they also have an h.264 format that will play on the iPhone. It may take some time before they create the iPhone version. Similarly, it may take some time for YouTube to post a high def version.
