Does any one has document "what to monitor in ST04" SAP recommanded referance values, as you know there is so much information in ST04.

Hi,
In ST04 you can Monitor mainly these four parameters with below referenec value.
Data Buffer Quality (%)     >= 94
Reads / User calls     < 20
SQL Area pinratio (%)     > 97
Time/User call (ms)     < 20
If value in your system better than these reference value it is an indication of good database performace. If not you need to look at database memory setting or SQL tuning.

I was just reviewing an ASUG presentation from Soledad Alvarado Ganzhorn of SAP NetWeaver Product Management at SAP Labs. It describes a value lifecycle manager tool that includes:

Is anyone aware if SAP is using this tool already? Will customers get access to it? This sounds like a replacement for the business case builder which I haven't seen either. It would be nice if customers had access to these sorts of discovery tools. Since we don't utilize SAP consulting, we are often not able to access this content as we initiate new initiatives. It would be nice to have access as it seems like we are internally selling their software for them.

What are the optimal values for mac and arp timeout values

Hi Guys.
What are the best values for "mac address-table aging-time" and "arp timeout" by following scenarios?:
- single sg300-10 as layer3-switch with a maximum of 10 local (direct connected) hosts
- and a 3750x-stack with 100 local hosts + hsrp with a other stack of the same sort
or for asa 5520 as internet gateway for 500 clients?
I use at the moment a mac aging-time from 300 seconds and a arp timeout from 3600 seconds.
Is this o.k.?

As far as enhancing the CLI, it will of course be enhanced when new firmware releases provide new features. As far as making it more IOS-like, best to my knowledge, no. The only other supported CLI on the SB switches are on the SX500 series and SX200E series which the CLI are all consistent. If you bought a SX500 series the commands are nearly identical minus the different feature sets.

How to monitor the values transferred to the jump query in a debug mode?

Dear experts,
There is a problem in the interface of two qeuries. In the first query, the infoobject is defined as a global filter with a constant. I added this infoobject in the interface via RSBBS.
Nevertheless, if i run the jump query, the value in this InfoObject is not taken into account by the jump query.
Does anybody know whether there is a method to debug (monitor) the values tranferred to the jump query? For example, in the transaction RSRT or others.

What is the default value of EO_INBOUND_PARALLEL

Hi Gurus,
We are on PI 7.0 EHP 1. We have not set the parameter EO_INBOUND_PARALLEL. Does this mean there is only one inbound queue registered by default if the default value is 1? However, I seem to recall that when we had issues with messages stuck in queues, I have seen more than one XBTI8 queues.
Please help me with my doubt. thanks!

I assume by default EO_INBOUND_TO_OUTBOUND is set to 1?
Then what is the default value for EO_OUTBOUND_PARALLEL? Plus to set this parameter you need to specify the receiver, in this case, is it true that EO_OUTBOUND_PARALLEL is not set at all so only one outbound queue? this does not make sense. Or maybe by default EO_INBOUND_TO_OUTBOUND is set to 0 so EO_OUTBOUND_PARALLEL is not used at all?

          weblogic.jsp.encoding to GB2312 , when the jsp file contain's chinese , the
          output will be error .And when I did not set it , the output is correct, but
          when I use request.getParameter("SomeFormElement")(the element inputed
          chinese), the return value is error.
          How should I set weblogic.jsp.encoding value to satisfy all this problem?
          When I set the value to ISO-8859, there is an exception:

i think the best way is to create java beans ,in that bean call your EJB ,
and check the validation over there.
and make that bean scope to session.
in each and everypage try to check the session ,if it is not valid then forward to your login page...
otherwise continue to give access to him like guest

What to monitor

we are moving monitoring software vendor and want to make sure we are covering what we need to monitor.
I've checked ML and these forums but not found a list to work with. We have something a consultant gave us a while back but would like to double check it.
Do oracle put out a basic what to monitor type document?

Well, there's a whole lot that will need to monitor. But are you asking about Proactive Monitoring or Reactive Monitoring?
For Proactive & Real Time Monitoring the Enterprise Manager is the BEST you can get.

I have a box full of things that look like remote controls. No one seems to know what they are and what they are used for. They are white about the size of the 1st generation iPod. Does anyone know what I'm referring to? Most of them have never been opened.

What to monitor on testing phase

We are planning to put in production one ApEx app (2.2.0.1) on Oracle 10gR2.1.
We know that this monitoring phase will be very important.
We are able to monitor db side (classic DBA task) but we are not sure what to monitor on ApEx and Apache-shortly all connect to pure WEB part.
Could anyone give us some instructions what is most important to monitor according previously said.

You could monitor Apache using the Apache log files. I believe Jes (John) has written some sort of utility (to JES to do this.<br><br>
Basically, he turns the data into a database table which you can then query/monitor.<br><br>
