Stabilization for the project with the different video settings
If i open project with the settings for 1080p video and then add to it 720p video, how can i make stabilization for it? (When i open another video with the different sequence settings it does not allow me to make stabilization)
Is there any way of working in one sequence with the different settings of the video?
Footage that does not match the sequence setting nest first then add the Warp.

Steve ZIt depends on the arrangement of your assets, but you will be asked to locate an item when you open the project and be presented with a window to navigate to locate it.
Make sure to check the box to make the required asset the only one that shows - this makes life much easier. The program will then locate as many assets as it can, but may ask you to locate another asset.
You can minimise the number of stages here if you do not re-organise the files after the Collect and Copy process. -

I agree with Dale. Having multiple sites will make this difficult to set up.
Not knowing how your Custom Groups/Categories have been set up, have you looked into using the "Project Permissions" feature to share projects. These permissions are 'additive' to the category permissions, so you could start out with people looking at the
projects they are authorized to via categories, and then let them share/add people as needed basis. This will also satisfy the requirement of not-loading the projects with resources..
And finally, the department and categories need not align, except that when projects from one dept are shared t another dept resource, the visibility of custom fieds will be affected.

From my understanding of this issue the users are separated by department and can only see specific projects; however, when they try to share departments between users (so they can see their projects (dept a sees dept b projects)) this works - but there
is a bigger issue/main issue.
main issue: when dept B adds a new project dept. A cannot see the new project in dept B.
This can be eliviated by removing the user/s and re-adding them to the permission structure of the deptment but overall doing this several times based on user/s and projects being added it gets to be cumbersome and just plain annoying.
Any help/additional thoughts would be great -
I bought a used F55 3 months ago for a doc project where I needed a global shutter camera and didn't want to put up with the Blackmagics. I paid 15k for it. I just sold it again for the same 15K, so basically it was a free rental. The camera was perfect for the project. The global shutter really made a difference and it is small enough for some run and gun. All together it's a very good camera. Not even close to the drag that is using a FS7.Although the F55 is not a camera I would say makes cinematic images like the Alexa or F35 and if I was shooting a narrative project I would proabably not go with it, for this project I couldn't have choosen a better camera. For anything else other than narrative I would have no problem using it again. It is very very flexible. It's a real pity that this forum has become basically a selling list selling F5s, F55s and recorder instead of discussing how to get the best out of these cameras. If not a for sale post it's generally some rant or complain about what Sony is not doing. The camera is great. Enough said.

By the way I couldn't care less if people are selling their F55. Yes, this ****** massive selling trend is what allowed me to get a very good deal on a F55 with LCD viewfinder for only 15K. From a person who wanted to get rid of it to buy an Amira. Good for me, yes. My complain is not about people selling. Is about people using this forum as a selling list. Use Ebay or a forum that has a classifieds section instead of polluting this forum with your for sale adds. Every other thread is a for sale. Just in the first page now we have 8 for sale threads! This forum is to discuss the camera. When I got the F55 it was an annoyance to look through threads for tips with every other thread being somebody pimping the camera sale. Sony, please open a classified forum and prohibit people from advertising on the normal forums, like every other civilized camera forums does. Keep things much more clean and organized. -
I had some FCP projects on an old G3 tower that I finally want to finish. I was able to grab everything, media, etc. to my macbook pro but all of the Final Cut Pro actual movies/projects have turned into "linux executable files" that FCP X won't import.
I tried googling this issue but didn't really see any good answers. Would it be as simple as renaming the files with the .fcp extension? I can't recall if my old version (really old) of FCP saves projects as .mov or .fcp files, but I'm assuming I'm not the only person this has happened to.

What version of FCP was this? The project files can probably no longer be opened in the newer version of the OS. You could try adding the .fcp suffix, but I don't think it will help for this. Projects files are .fcp.
Regardless of the version, no legacy FCP projects will import into FCPX.
Media is a different matter. These are probably QuickTime .mov files. If these are appearing as Unix ececutables, they're probably not recoverable either. -

Just in case note....for a regular DVD player, granted it is important to have a video format that the player supports (namely DVD-VIDEO format); however, the other half of the consideration...the player needs to support the disc type (media type) that the video format is on. I do not know of a regular DVD player that supports DVD-VIDEO on a memory stick.
If you have recorded PAL 1080i (1920 x 1080 @ 25 interlaced frames per second), that interlaced video exists with Field Order: Upper Field First.
But, you end product DVD-VIDEO is characterized by Field Order: Lower Field First. If you run into this type of Field Order problem, then there are 2
possibilities to get that taken care of
a. Assuming that you are using Premiere Elements 11, 12, or 13....set the project preset (manually) to
PAL
Hard Disk, Flash Memory Camcorders
Full HD 1080i25
or
b. Import the source media using
PAL
AVCHD
Full HD1080i15
and then, for each Timeline 1080i, right click it, select Field Options from the pop up menu, and then select Reverse Field Dominance.
When you export to file, you lose the opportunity for menus. The only export to file with menus is found in the webDVD export which is
in reality a flash file with menus. That might be a consideration for playback through the web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.
If putting a file on a memory stick is a working possibility, you might want to look also at AVCHD.mp4 1920 x 1080p25, but all depends on the
support of the player.
Lots to think about. If you need clarification on any of the above, please do not hesitate to ask.

I have a 3 node cluster that has replica setup to replicate to another cluster off-site.
Suddenly one of the servers is not replicating with the error:
Hyper-V could not replicate changes for virtual machine 'machinename': The connection with the server was terminated abnormally (0x00002EFE). (Virtual Machine ID CC0FD4CC-F9B7-4C68-ABE8-B7D52A87899F)
All other servers are replicating fine so there cannot be a permissions or connectivity issue between the 2 clusters.
This server has 2TB of data so I'd rather not have to start the replication again.
Does anyone have any pointers?

How do I open GarageBand 09 project with the Amp and Pedals Plugins?
My client sent me via YouSendIt online me his GarageBand 09 v5.0.1 project to tune up Logic Pro 8.0.2. Upon opening the project I receive the message, "Warning! This Project was created by a newer Logic Pro version. This may cause problems. Please update Logic Pro." After I hit "OK", a message says, "Logic Pro: Plug-in “Pedals” not available!, and then "Logic Pro: Plug-in “AmpSim2” not available! Where can I download or get the update that I need for Logic Pro with the Pedals and AmpSim2 Plug-Ins and when will it be available? What other version of Logic Pro is there?

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

Is it possible to search for multiple folders with the same name and then select them all and change the permissions on just those folders .i.e. Search for the budget folders in all client folders and lock them down to just the project managers. Without having to go to each folder and apply the permissions.

Ended up taking a backup, did a fresh install, created the account as the first one so that it gets the same UID as the other Mac (on which my account was the first) and restored my data - was painful but finally on track. -
What's the deal with the video format?
Hello! What is the deal with the video format? Does it mean I have to code the videos for 640*480 ? It won't accept any other size? What size do I need to select for widescreen format?
With Quicktime pro I've been able to encode videos with a very nice resolution and small size, then try to synch them to the ipod touch and then the error, it can't be played. I use the .mov format, I like it more but if I have to use .mp4 then I'll use it.

By default, does AME render an AE project with the "use no proxies" setting? I use lots of proxies in my files and I want to make sure they are being ignored when I'm rendering in AME.
Adobe Media Encoder encodes After Effects compositions using their current appearance. There is no control the appearance of the composition, with one exception; there is no equivalent to the Render Settings controls in the After Effects Render Queue. If you want proxies to be used, or not, set up your composition for the desired configuration before you encode in Adobe Media Encoder.
The exception to this rule is Guide Layers. In Adobe Media Encoder, right-click on an After Effects composition and choose Source Settings, from this dialog you can control whether or not the Guide Layers in the composition are rendered.
