Stabilizing video that moves vertically
Hi guys,
I am relatively new to Motion so apologies for anything obvious that I may have missed
I have a piece of video that I wish to stabilize in motion.
The piece of video is a rising shot where the camera starts behind an object which it is focused on, then as it moves up vertically it passes the top of the near object and focues on the background
The problem i am having is once I have analysed the motion of the clip, Motion takes the entire clip and moves it up vertically creating black space at the bottom of the clip
Any ideas how to fix this?

Select/highlight the ones that you want to change in your iTunes library, do Get-Info (control-I) and change their Media Kind on their Options tab to 'Music Video' - and then similarly for the podcasts.

I have Video camera movies that are HD format.. I am doing editing work on them using Final Cut Pro, but using DV PAL format for the projects I am editing. When I then tried to copy my work done in FCP Project that's originally DV PAL , into a new FCP Project that is HD, and tried reconnect media with original HD movies (video), the sequence project got distorted for all the text, shapes used and all.. everything changed its orientation and scale.. Is there a way by which I can preserve my work done on DV PAL and switch it preserving its proportions, scale and orientation, but on a HD project sequence?? Appreciate your help and advice..
Yes. A couple of ways that might work.
First Way
What you need to do is load one of your hd clips in the viewer and edit into a new HD sequence. Does it display correctionly?
OK, select the clip in the hd timeline and copy (command-c). Now go to the HD sequence with the material that's distorted. Select all (command-a) and paste attributes (option-v) and choose basic motion and distort. That should maek things work. What won't work is anything that you've adjusted as far as basic motion or distort in your PAL sequence. That I'm pretty sure you'll have to redo.
Second Way.
Choose your original PAL sequence and do a Media Manage changing the sequence preset to the appropriate HD paramenters with the media offline. You then should be able to reconnect these clips with your original HD media. -
I cannot find videos (not movies) that i have transferred to my macbook pro from an external hard drive, these files used to be on my windows PC. Photos and a few of the videos came over but i am missing the majority of the videos. Help please!!! I have tried omnidisksweeper with no success in finding them.
in my Usage it says i have over 40 gb of movies when i only have about 9gb which i can see using spotlight search. i really hope the other amount is my missing videos! these are videos of my kids as babies.Read this post and do the migration again, putting the library in a portable shape first if necessary.

What can I do to improve a blurry Quicktime video that was SMS' texted to me? I think it was taken on an Iphone and it was sent to me as a 1.24MB .mov file and I have Quicktime Pro if that helps. I REALLY need to make this as clear as possible, the audio is good, video is blurry. Here is some additional data:

You can rescale (stretch) the size of the display but this will only make it blurier and/or introduce pixellation. When the file was encoded at a lower resolution much of the original data was thrown away to make the file smaller. This data is gone/missing and cannot be recreated from what is left. What you've got is all you have to work with. Any filters you can apply will require re-compressing the file again which will likely introduce more artifacts and increase the size of the file without really improving its overasll quality. -
My video was recorded on my I phone 4, the camera was held sideways for a horizontal view, but loads in I movie vertically. How can I rotate the image so it is horizontal?
Drag the clip from your Event to your Project. Then use the Rotate, Crop, Ken Burns Tool on the Middle Toolbar to rotate it

Due to Hotmail Live being POP based there is limitations on it. Not much can be done to get these folders on iPhone till Hotmail Live switches to an IMAP format.

I have downloaded pictures to iphoto from my Canon Rebel XTI. I can not email or move any pictures that are vertical. Also, if I double click on the photo to enlarge it, the screen flills with a big exclamation mark. I need to email these photos out. HELP! Also if I do a slide show with the album, those pictures do not show up.

I can not email or move any pictures that are vertical.
It means that iPhoto can't find the photos.

Exported the present. to iMovie, but cannot find that movie/video now....
In anticipation of making a video out of my presentation and sending it via iMovie to Youtube for my friend (the author of the presentation), I followed the instructions using a presentation that I made for myself. I selected the size and then pressed the button and waited during that time when my work was being sent to iMovie. After a while that progress bar disappeared and I figured that the export had finished. Well, but now I cannot find the video that I supposedly made. I went to iMovie (for the first time) and checked for it there, but saw nothing. I checked my Hard Drive and my Desktop: No video.
Where should I be looking for the video? Also, how do I even know that a video was actually made?
This is my first time.
LornaMr. Peebly, I did those things before posting. I will re-do my experiment/test before I attempt to do the 20+ page real presentation.
I have some doubts about the real presentation because I kept getting the warning message that “the bundled movie could not be uploaded.”

QuickTime movie generated by Final Cut Pro 7, converted to same size .flv (720 x 480) results in video that is condensed vertically. No such problem when using Flash 8 Video Encoder. Would prefer to use more recent encoder since a document of much smaller fize size is created.
Tried "cheating" width of output video setting by making it larger to eliminate black bars on either side of image area that had resulted in previous attempts, to no avail.

Can anyone stabilize this video that has some minor, key camera jumps?
I have around fifteen seconds of video that forms a flashback in my short. Unfortunately, the recording suffered from some tiny bouncing in our floorboards which we couldn't pick up on the monitor.
I've tried the standard warp stabilizer in Premiere CS6 and even the motion tracking using points in After Effects, but either my skills aren't up to it or there just aren't enough points in the footage to track.
The closest I can get is separating the footage into three sections, correcting them individually and then trying to realign them using scale and position - but given that it's a fixed frame and is being shown on a large screen, even the tiniest of remaining movements are visible. It looks fixed in the preview screen but shows up on the HD export. Is anyone able to shed some light on this one?

There's a second or two of shake at the very beginning and end, but that can be completely jetissoned. The audio featured in these clips also won't be used, as'll be obvious when you see it.
If anyone can suggest where I can cut this and what settings I can use on the warp stabilizer to get this perfect, I'll be forever in your debt.

LeeI haven't tried anything yet but at first look the little glitch in the first shot only lasts a frame or two. Have you tried time remapping to remove the offending frames? This is the wrong kind of motiion for Warp Stabilizer to help with. AE's point tracker or Mocha is far better suited to the job.
Second, I noticed the shots have not been trimmed. It's usually a good standard practice to trim your shots before stabilizing. I always leave a few frames at each end to facilitate editing but it's usually a waste of production time to stabilize an entire take.
OK, I took about 2 minutes to use the point tracker on about 10 frames where the camera jumps around a bit. Worked perfectly by simply selecting the top right corner of the card and using stabilize motion.
Here's an AEP with the fixed shot. You can adjust the in and out points as needed and scale the shot up if you need to fix the edges of the frame. You'll have to replace the footage with your first shot.
As I was cleaning up my desktop I took a last look and noticed that the jitter is not uniform. If you stabilize the corner of the card then the package stills moves a bit. I had the best luck tracking the intersection of the package and the card. and the corner of the card by stabilizing scale and rotation. This tells me that it is more likely that the table rocked changing perspective than the camera was bumped. Either way, there is no way to make the shot absolutely perfect without warping the image. I'm not sure it would be worth it.

This first started around January of 2009. Every time I click on one of my photos, an image, video or movie, the screen turns pink. There are horizontal and vertical lines all over the screen. Sometimes, immediately after this happens, the screen will go black. Nothing will work and I have to push the power button in order to shut it down. After rebooting, everything will load and work, that is until I click on a photo, image, video or movie.
Does anyone know what might be causing this to happen and if it can be fixed?Sounds like a video card problem.

Does anyone have a good way of batch stabilizing video shot with an iPhone? I've tried iMovie but the only way I can get the stabilization is to edit a movie together & export it.
My preference is to have a batch converter that analyzes & exports new files (or some way of stabilizing while I'm videoing in the first place).
I know that manually stabilizing each movie yields the best results, but time will prevent me from doing that and I'd be happy with a batch converter.Sorry realised the description of the video and issue is vague

What codec do I need to add to play a video that is called .avi
It will not play on my new Macbook Pro since I put it into the movies section of my launchpad. When it was on the desktop It worked fine. I moved it back to the desktop and it still does not work.
The error message says The document " .avi" could not be opened.
A required codec is not available.Download VLC Media Player which plays anything you throw at it and Perian (AVI and FLV support).
