Stable, Free VPN service that works on iphone 4?

I have tried Itshidden.com and hotspotshield and neither of those seem to work. "Can't find server" or something to that effect? Anyone have any luck with these or can recommend a VPN service which actually works.

Actually, now that Gmail offers IMAP service that's basically the answer to my prayers. Also, if you don't know about it already Google's Apps offers you the option of having email with your own domain hosted by Google. It's like Gmail but with any domain you want. Pretty awesome. I bought a domain for my whole family to use. Email is free, only thing that costs is the annual domain registration/renewal.

Example- The equalizer in iTunes is rather bland.
Any old stereo system has a better display.
The controls are icing on the cake for audio
but I'd pay for a complete array of adjustments.
The more lights, bells, whistles,the better.

Lion 10.7.2 VPN service not working

Hi,
I have a clean installation of 10.7.2 on a Mac Pro which is not able to provide VPN service. Here's what is configured:
*OD Master - users and groups in place
*firewall active with allow rules for all necessary VPN ports (500, 1701, 4500)
*port forwarding on router to server IP address of 500, 1701 and 4500
*pre-shared key in place
*VPN server turned on
I spent over an hour on the phone with Apple Enterprise Support and they finally conceded "the engineers have informed us that there is a bug with the VPN service and that it is being looked at currently. It will hopefully be addressed in the pending OS update."
Steps to reproduce:
1. client is configured with approprate IP address, username, password and PSK
2. client attempts to connect
3. server's VPN log which should be in /var/log/ppp/vpnd.log is not populating with any new data, but the top-level "all messages" in console is showing a slew of information. Here is what is displaying:

I am hoping that this comes down to a bad port forwarding issue. Does anything seen in the above logs indicate that to you?
What would my next step be for trying to repair the VPN service? I want to avoid a reinstall if possible.

Ok, so, the best FIRST test is to try from the local lan, same lan as the Lion server. L2TP works fine for me, PPTP definitely has a bug. You can configure the VPN connection in your network system preferences on the client machine. Just put in your local server IP.
The idea here is to first make sure VPN works on the LAN (which is useless of course but great for troubleshooting), once it does, THEN you can go to the next step and troubleshoot the remote connection.

Hmm, I'm not to sure about that (no cradle), as I saw a cradle from a BMW post and it was for an iPOD (about a few years ago), the cig lighters are not such a good idea, I know someone that works at Apple and he says they get returned all the time as there is to much noise.
So, there has to be something seeing how it's set up for Sirius, and there was a CRADLE and since SIRIUS is offering a program soon for the iPhone, and its coming from Sirius, there must be a manufature that is planning on a cradle.
On the current cradle, there is a LINE OUT and one other (not line in) which looks like (both) are the 1/8th mini jack(s), same as iPhone.
Ideas besides cigarette lighter? Does anyone have a cigarette lighter method for 3G that works without noise? Or where else can I post, look?

The log command will write the results of the "do shell script" to Xcode's run log window. If you see the correct output there then you know that part is working correctly and the problem is in the way you're trying to insert the string into the text field. Maybe "Dir" doesn't match the name you've given your text field in IB? Or maybe your text field is contained within another view, such as an NSBox or an NSTabView?
Also, I guess "of front window" should work in AppleScript Studio but I always give my windows AppleScript names in IB and then explicitly specify the window in my scripts. Like this:
set content of text field "Dir" of window "MyWindow" to MyText

Looking for text services that work in Mavericks

Quite some time ago several sources offered some nice services that, once installed into OSX, one could quickly alter highlighted text to do things like make the text case "sentence case" or "remove caps" etc. After searching for these services today, I'm coming up with a lot of broken links and no solutions. Anyone out there still have access to these handy services?

VPN addresses that worked in Snow Leopard doesn't work in Lion configurations

Hi!
I need to connect to a VPN (PPTP) to access some link addresses that are configured through this VPN.
I can connect to VPN in both OS (Snow and Lion), however only in the Snow Leopard I can access correctly the links that I need, on Lion I get this error:
Host xxxxxxxxxxxxxx not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
On Lion I can ping to IP address but I can't ping to host name. I already set the hosts file and it's not working. I tried to use OpenDNS and it's not working also.
Anyone has some idea? I already spent more than a week searching on google to a possible solution but unfortunatly I can't get.

To answer my own question...
When using the method where both computers are hooked together with a single ethernet cable --
Go to SnowLeopard machine and set IPv6 to automatic, and select away from DHCP to manual. It will do a self-assigned IP address.
Got to the Yosemite machine and configure it's ethernet to IPv6, DHCP to manual, and put in an IP address one different from the self-assigned address that the SL machine took. We also changed the net mask to 255.255.0.0 from 255.255.255.0, and set the server to the .0 of the self-assigned class C. Those last two steps might not be necessary.

Best firmware that works on iPhone 4?

I currently have the iPhone 4 running on iOS 6.1.3 (Latest). However, I am not too happy. I don't feel like it is working as well as it should, everything feels laggy, the keyboard responds slowly and apps are slow to start up, especially when multi-tasking.
With your experience and ideas out there, does anyone know what firmware will run most effectively and at an optimum speed on the iPhone 4? Anything above iOS 5 I will be happy to downgrade to. My current thoughts are to downgrade to iOS 5.1.1 as I think that's the firmware that iPhone 4S was released on, and both the 4 and 4s have similar processors.

Problem login to icloud with same credentials that work on iPhone, MBP, iPad

I tried to find similar problem, but I couldn't.
I have [email protected] AppleID that I use for iCloud (the one I am posting from is completelty separate because it is connected to my Trainer resources) on my MacBook Pro, mini and iPad for some time. Few days ago I bought iPhone 5 and I wanted to login to iCloud from it, I couldn't so I reset my password. After some problems, I managed to login from iPhone, iPad na MacBook Pro, and I could login to www.icloud.com using AppleID [email protected] with new password.
Yesterday I tried to login from my Mac mini and I couldn't. Then I tried login to www.icloud.com from several browser and from all devices, I even tried from my firend's Windows machine. However, my MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad uses iCloud without any problems, the password is also working since I could get to a dialog displayed on included screenshot, and in order to do that you have to choose to manage iCloud storage from iCloud preferences and then to click on "View account" button which asks for password.
I tried login in with [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] and just plain madamov as AppleID, no luck. Anyone had a similar problem?

To add followup: this was fixed by itself after a week or so.

I can't vouch for the iP90, I do have an iP11 and have used my iPhone 4 with an acrylic case that covers the sides and part of the bottom of the iPhone. In other words has problems connecting to a docking station like a number case. My iPhone will connect to the iP11 if I don't use an iPhone/iPod insert. Docking stations use inserts to give a custom fit for your iPhone or IPod. A docking station extension cable will also work.

I'm under the gun here and running into a wall and would appreciate anyone's help:
I'm currently creating video content that's being hosted on an HTML5-based site. Because of this, we have specific requirements about what we can/cannot use for formats.
The most acceptable format is an MP4 wrapper with H.264 encoding and AAC audio.
However, the files that are currently deployed won't play on iPhones or iPads (iOS).
The HTML5 standards guide states that: "Mobile phones like Apple’s iPhone and Google Android phones support H.264 video (baseline profile) and AAC audio (“low complexity” profile) in an MP4 container."
I don't know what a "baseline profile" with "low complexity" audio is.
When I look in Compressor, there are settings for iPhone and iPad, but this makes an .m4v file.
Is the only way to support web video on iPhone/iPad with an .m4v file?
If it can support .mp4, what program/settings should I use to ensure playback?

OSX Mail refuses password that works on iPhone

Mac OSX Mail repeatedly refuses to receive new email from my Doteasy-hosted email account. I use this same password on Doteasy's webmail interface flawlessly. I have the EXACT same account settings on my iPhone, which works perfectly, but Mail has been fighting me for two days on this.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hey, one funny thing I noticed, which may be significant.
I went to make a backup copy of the faulty mailbox (in the Library folder) before deleting/recreating my Mail account.
The format for the folder name of every other email account -- all the functioning ones -- under the same domain is:
POP- [email] % [domain name] @ [incoming mail server]
But the FAULTY account format is:
POP- [mailbox nickname] @ [email] % [domain name]
with NO incoming mail server at the end.
I went into Prefs and removed the faulty account's nickname, named it like the other accounts, quit mail.
The finder folder names didn't change. And when I reopened Mail it wiped out the password for _every_ account, so I'll have to re-enter them all manually.
Crikey, what's going on? Is this helpful to know?
