Stack-A-Matic Broken in CS-4

Using PhotoShop CS 4 on Windows XP.  Have updated via Adobe for current files.  Running CS 4 Version 11.01
Installed Dr. Brown's Services 2.02 and installer.
When selecting Tools > Dr. Brown's Services 2.02 > Stack-A-Matic in bridge, the script will NOT display the menu to select "create stack, stack mode, auto aligh and force 16 bi"t. Script should run in both Photoshop CS4 and CS4 Extended as stated in Adobe information.
The script will run, but takes all of the images and places them into PS as individual layers.  When viewing the tutorial "Combining Multiple Exposures With Dr. Brown's Stack-A-Matic" posted on 5/9/09 the information shows a smart object should be listed in the layers palette.  There is no smart object or menu.  It is like the script is running one of the other Dr. Brown services such as merge in place of stack.
Any suggestion for a fix?  Either operator or script?
Thanks,
Jim

Stack-A-Matic is not intended to work in the non extended version of CS-4.  It is an application designed for CS-4 Extended. Thus it will fail if used in the incorrect version of CS-4.

  • Filter problem with jsp:forward

    Greetings,
    I was trying to implement compression filter in oc4j. Basically wrap a HttpResponseServletResponseWrapper using a GZipOutputStream for supported browsers. However whenever for eg: I have a.jsp which does jsp:forward page =b.jsp I can see in TCP monitor IllegalStateException response already committed. But I dont see any stack trace in server logs. The buffer size is 2048 and I am pretty sure it did not get filled up before the forward. I would appreciate if anybody has seen such behavior using wrapped response in OC4j(the same code works fine in tomcat and websphere). Also one thing I observed is that for every jsp:include the filter is being called (to handle this I create the wrapper if its not already there and maintain entry count into filter and decrement when I exit filter and finish gzip response when entry count become 0,which works fine). I believe that this is not a part of 2.3 spec.Even in 2.4 spec if the filter config in web.xml is not set to any value by default the filter is supposed to be in request scope. I really appreciate any pointers in resolving this

    I am pasting the stack trace for broken pipe exception. Please let me know if anybody knows the resolution. Please let me know if there is any other way to enable compression of jsp in oc4j in 9 version. The same code works in Jboss/tomacat websphere ! Also from the stack trace we can see that filter is being called for each forward and its not as per 2.3 servlet specification. Even in 2.4 by default the filter is supposed to work at request level.
    Also I have another question oc4j seems to be using hard coded value: if length is more than 100k or so it uses Transfer-Encoding chunked. Is there any clean way of disabling this behaviour for .js files? the reason is for some reason Internet explore does not cache the javascript files properly (sporadically ) when chunked response is used for javascript files.

  • Image Processor Pro won't run in PS6 using Window 7 OS.

    Trying to run IPP on a Windows 7 OS in PS6.  I select my images in bridge and run the script IPP. Photoshop pops up and a blank white screen appears and nothing else happens.

    Scripting was an extra down for PS7 and the first version of Photoshop to have scripting support PS6 has no scripting support.  The Image Processor Pro script uses newer scripting features like Plug-in support that was added in CS3 and I think Image Processor Pro needs newer then that like it may only works with CS5, CS6 and CC. I use it with CS6 and CC... I do not usr the installer I extract the zxp file and install manually. There are a couple of minor issues the X is working on Alpha Channels in PSD files and some TGA and BMP support... Adobe has pull Russell Brown off of Photoshop  and X is feed up with Adobe.. Make sure you have the latest version of the script... I use Windows 7 Pro OS...

  • PS CS5 - Adobe extension manager trouble .

    I run CS5 / 64 B on a modern 10.6.7 system .
    I have been using erlier  Dr Browns Image Processor Pro with no problem , but there is a new version that I would like to install ,
    also with Image stacking script that ( stack-a -matic ) that I want to use .
    My problem is that extension manager is telling me that there is a conflict with installed " Dr Brown Script Installer " -
    There is no file with this name that I can find  -  and I cannot proceed. I have removed old scripts that are mentioned in " manual Install "info
    - icons
    - Image Processor Pro.xml
    - Image Processor Pro.jsx
    -  Dr. Brown's Services.jsx
    and I can install Image Processor manually
    But no go for  for Stack-A-Matic script .
    I would like to avoid Cs 5 reinstall -
    Any tips how to remove older Dr- Brown services to ba able to use Adobe extension managare for new install ?

    Hi Jann,
    So when you launch Bridge and go to the preferences, is there a Dr. Brown's Services item in the Startup Scripts section? The Stack–A–Matic service is included in the script that enables those services (Dr. Brown's Services.jsx). If you manually installed this file to the Bridge startup directory, you can bypass the EM installer.
    Step 3 – Locate the file named Dr. Brownʼs Services.jsx from the downloaded
    manual installation folder.
    a. Dr. Brown’s Services.jsx
    Step 4 – Place this one item into the Adobe Bridge folder at the following location
    on your computer
    (Macintosh HD) Root System / Library / Application Support / Adobe / Startup
    Scripts CS5 / Adobe Bridge
    Remember; only move this one file to this location.
    I wonder if there's a problem with non-English systems and the EM install. EM warns me but will install over a manual or auto-installed 2.1.6. Have you used earlier versions?
    regards,
    steve

  • Acessing Dr.Brown Service Scripts From PSCC

    I have downloaded and installed D.Browns Service Scripts.
    The installer makes the scripts Stack-A-Matic, Place-A-Matic 8 and Place-A-Matic 16 functionality available through Bridge only.
    Is there a way to access the script trilogy directly from PSCC menu?

    Hi Noel,
    I didn't see any signature in the package of "Russell Brown's Image Processor Pro script". What I got are 5 png files, 2 jsx files, 1 xml file and 1 mxi file( Are we talking the same sutff? ). All of them have nothing to do with signature. I think it is why you got the warning above. Anyway, if you are sure this extension is safe, you can click "Install" to ingore the warning message.

  • TCP segment Overwrite

    Recently, I've been seeing a ton of messages on the IPS Event Viewer stating that TCP Segment Overwrites have been detected. The events are from either the IPS-A to our DMZ or vice versa. It just started whenever we added some servers to the network. Does anybody have any suggestions? We traced the packets, it's not hacker related. It seems like maybe a server or app. may be causing the issue. The problem is isolating it. I would appreciate any feedback you could provide. Thanks!

    TCP normalization
    Through intentional or natural TCP session segmentation, some classes of attacks can be hidden. To make sure policy enforcement can occur with no false positives and false negatives, the state of the two TCP endpoints must be tracked and only the data that is actually processed by the real host endpoints should be passed on. Overlaps in a TCP stream can occur, but are extremely rare except for TCP segment retransmits. Overwrites in the TCP session should not occur. If overwrites do occur, someone is intentionally trying to elude the security policy or the TCP stack implementation is broken. Maintaining full information about the state of both endpoints is not possible unless the sensor acts as a TCP proxy. Instead of the sensor acting as a TCP proxy, the segments will be ordered properly and the normalizer will look for any abnormal packets associated with evasion and attacks.

  • My Dock is broken. Stacks don't work, either. A little help? :(

    Right, here's the problem:
    http://www.birchlabs.co.uk/Dock1.png
    The transparent black bezel is... messed up to the extent that it's painful to look at. If that were the only problem, I could put up with it, but it gets worse.
    http://www.birchlabs.co.uk/Dock2.png
    That's a stack. All I get is the broken bezels. No file names, no icons... I've got nothing. It's unusable (grid mode works fine, in case you're wondering).
    Also, if you look in that picture, you'll notice that my separator has become invisible. What gives?
    Note that I've only had this computer for a few hours. I transferred to it from my G5 iMac which ran Tiger. None of those Dock problems occurred immediately, I think they might've happened after I ran various full-screen programs - Joost, Halo, and the Java app Dofus Arena come to mind.
    Also (though I don't think this is a bug), the shadows on the Dock icons look really horrible now, and I really struggle to figure out which apps are open (my screenshot should vouch for that; I'm pretty sure it's a lot less visible than it's meant to be).
    I've rebooted and I've repaired permissions. I've installed all updates. I've done hours of Googling and checking the support forum, all to no avail. Could somebody please shed some light on this problem?

    Huh. A few minutes ago, whilst I was doing nothing out of the ordinary, the screen went black, the computer stopped responding, and kept replaying the last half-second of sound it'd made on a loop. I force-rebooted, and now all of those problems are fixed. :/
    What can I say... my computer is self-healing?

  • 3750X stack with broken 715W power supply

    I have a stack of 2 WS-C3750X-48P      15.0(2)SE6            C3750E-IPBASEK9-M
    Each switch has two 715W power supplies.

    Hi Charles, yes the 2 switches act like one stand alone sw

    Switch 2 connected to Switch 1
    There are no stack power cables.

    I have only one electrical line to the rack
    The problem is that a broken power supply caused to switch off all the rack.
    In fact the master electrical switch of all the rack went down.
    Last 3 months the same problem  happened twice to two different stacks.
    Is it possible a firmware bug ?
    Tell me if you need further info. Thanks a lot

  • Broken Stacks

    Hello.
    I just got my new iMac 24" with Leopard. When I open my stacks several times, they get broken, which means that the icons and labels disappear. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Solutions, anyone?
    This is how it looks like: http://kram.deerontherun.de/Bild%203.png
    Interesting: This doesn't happen on my 12" PowerBook G4. Seems to be a problem with CoreAnimation/Graphics...
    Thanks for any suggestions!
    Till

    I am having the same problem. Also, the background or "table" on the dock keeps on disappearing. I went to an Apple Store and they said that they have never heard of that happening...and to see if restarting the computer helps. That, by far, is the only thing that has ever worked. I went to the other apple store, which oddly on the same street and in are walking distance away from each other, and told them of my problem and of my other ones(my iMac gives me the gray/sheer screen of doom that tells me to restart my computer) and he guys said that he WANTS me to do a erase and install with my leopard DVD(I got it though that $10 thing) and since I have over 20gb's of music on my computer and no external hard drive. I haven't really gotten to backing up my data yet. Sorry, I got a bit off topic there.
    oh yeah, and I get that screen thing of doom while using Safari and iMovie. I haven't yet to experience this in any other program.

  • [3.2.09.30]Worksheet broken (MultiKeyHandler Exception stack included)

    I do not know what's causing this, but at some point working with the SQLWorksheet becomes painful: pressing <Return> or <Del> or the Arrow keys or Ctrl-V (and probably many more) triggers the corresponding action twice.
    The only cure seems to be restarting SQLDev.
    I'm on Fedora15, xfce 4.8, Java(TM) Platform 1.6.0_30 (same config for several months now and never had this problem with previous SQLDev versions).
    On the console I see the following:

    Hi,
    Although not exactly the same type of JVM crash, here is a situation the occurred when switching from JDBC Thin to OCI/Thick:
    SQLDeveloper 3.2.20.09 crashes JVM using OCI/Thick driver on Linux 64bit
    SQL Developer 3.2 crashes with java error when using OCI/Thick Driver
    Did you recently switch your drive type, or client software so that the JDBC driver version changed? Just a guess. If true, read especially the final post of the second thread noted above.

    Source and destination ports are correctly set. Wireshark shows the correct HTML inside the packets that are returned to 0.0.0.0. The web server log also looks normal; the correct IP address is displayed and logged as a successful request.
    When dropping incomming traffic on port 80 on eth0 everything works as expected (when requesting the server on eth1, which otherwise fails).
    I'm running on "Linux srv 3.0-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Oct 19 12:14:48 UTC 2011 i686" which is the latest kernel in the repos. When booting the fallback image this problem does not exist, all packets are correctly addressed no matter how much load I put on the server.
    Does anyone else have this problem?
    Edit:
    Running lighttpd 1.4.29. No tweaked kernel/TCP parameters whatsoever.

    Did a full reinstall of Arch on another machine and the problem still persist. Tried with Apache and Nginx, same behaviour as with Lighttpd. Could anyone else using an arch box under heavy load see if there's activity from 0.0.0.0?
    Hint:
    # tcpdump -n host 0.0.0.0
    I'll do a bug report upstream later today.

  • Jackd + guitar: "timeouts and broken pipes"

    Hi friends! I'm trying to pass my electric guitar via any rack/effects (like Guitarix or Creox) with no luck. I've got this sound card:

    I can hear my guitar and record with Audacity, but when jackd enter into the escenario everything blows up. I read that nowadays almost any sound card will work with QJackCtl with the default options. I play with the parameters and sometimes jack refuse to start. With the default options on i can make it run, but i get no sound of the racks or guitar effects processors neither the guitar tuners that use jack takes the sound from the guitar. My line input is in capture via alsamixer, but still no luck. Any clue on this? I'm skipping steps?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Service Pack 3 appears to have broken the Report Builder click once installation

    We are running SQL Server reporting services on SQL Server 2008 R2. Recently we installed the service pack 3 and we now get the following error when a user clicks the Report Builder link:
    Application validation did not succeed.  Unable to continue.
    And from the Log:

    I'm at a bit of a loss of what to do since all recommended solutions I've found are for installing the latest service pack or cumulative update (from threads several years old).  By installing service pack 3 we are at the latest upgrade path for 2008
    R2 and ironically enough, this is what appears to have broken the click once installer.

    Hi Matt,
    This is an known issue in SSRS 2008 R2 SP3. For this issue, Microsoft has published an article addressing this issue. It is not planning to release a fix for this defect. But there's workarounds for this issue. Please refer to the link below:
    Report Builder of SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 3 does not launch.
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Cannot increase the stack size

    Hi,
    We have a program which gives a StackOverflowError. Trying the increase the stack size using command line options does not work. A simple program shows that the stack is the same size, whatever option we set.
    This is the program:
    class StackOverflowTest
    public static int counter = 0;
    public static void main(String[] a)
    try {
    sub();
    } catch (StackOverflowError e)
    System.out.println("recursive calls: "+counter);
    public static void sub()
    counter++;
    sub();
    We tried several -Xss (and -Xoss) settings: 600K, 2048K, 4M but got the same recursion deep: 16683 (with Eclipse), or 16689 (command line).
    We used Windows XP.
    Do you have any clue?
    Many thanks,
    Zsolt

    Oh good, they seem to have broken the forum formatting again.

  • [CS5.5/CS6] what causes a kImportAndPlaceCmdBoss to throw an exception with broken links?

    I have a problem in both CS5.5 and CS6 on MacOS X.
    During a drag operation onto an InDesign document, I import and place some images onto a page. This normally works without issue except in one case. The problem case is when I'm trying to import an image that is the same file path as a broken link on the document. This will crash InDesign everytime.
    Let me provide some details.
    First, I create an InDesign document, drag some images from the Finder and place them on the page and save the InDesign document to file. Now I go to the Finder and delete the images (or just move them to a different Folder). I then go back to InDesign and look at the Links panel where the red stop signs now appear near the images to show that the links are broken.
    Next I go to a panel that I'm working on where I can drag an item from the panel and onto the InDesign document page. In this I have a ProcessDragDropCommand method that over rides the method in the CDragDropTargetFlavorHelper class, and during that method it copies the images that I just deleted back into their original locations on the file system.
    After copying the files, the process then tries to import one of the images into a new frame using the PlaceFileInFrame method from the InDesign SDK file SDKLayoutHelper.cpp. This method creates a kImportAndPlaceCmdBoss and when executing the line:
    if (CmdUtils::ProcessCommand(importAndPlaceCmd) != kSuccess) {
    causes an exception that appears in the crash report as:
    Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
    Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILUE at 0x0000000000000000
    Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
    with a stack trace that points to the CmdUtils::ProcessCommand() line mentioned above.
    I've tried relinking the images before the import and place, but that still doesn't work. If I break the process up so that in one drag event I copy the missing files back into place and relink them, then in a second drag event I then do an import and place it all works okay. It's just when I try the full task of copy images into place in the file system, relink the images on the InDesign document and then import and place an image in a new frame on the InDesign page that the exception is appearing.
    Instead of the kImportAndPlaceCmdBoss I've also tried the kImportAndLoadPlaceGunCmdBoss with the same problem.
    Interestingly, in the SDKLayoutHelper method PlaceFileInFrame that I'm using, there's a pragma message:
    #pragma message("LINKREWORK: Temporary, fix this up later!")
    // TODO: LINKREWORK fix.
    From the wording I'm wondering if this is related to the problem that I'm seeing. In which case does anyone know what this fix might entail?
    I've tried tried relinking using ReinitResource and UpdateLinks methods that are a part of the ILkniFacade but that doesn't seem to help stop the crash.
    Oddly, I can generate a strange and maybe related error (that doesn't use my plugins and just the raw InDesign functionality) if I do something like:
    In InDesign, create an InDesign document.
    From the Finder, drag some images onto the InDesign document page.
    In InDesign, save the document.
    In the Finder, rename the folder containing the images.
    In InDesign, check that the links really are broken with the red stop signs appearing.
    In the Finder, rename the folder containing the images back to what it was before.
    (Extra Step)
    In the Finder, redrag the same images that you did before onto the InDesign page.
    This will cause InDesign to throw up the following error message:
    Either the file does not exist, you do not have permission, or the file may be in use by another application
    Of course, if in the above you introduce an Extra Step where you just go back to InDesign and do nothing. InDesign will relink the once missing images, so that when you go back to the Finder to drag the images there's now no problem.
    This is almost like InDesign needs a few IdleTasks in order to sort out its perception of the file system. If that's the case then I'm a bit stuck as I'm trying to do everything during a single drag operation and there's no chance of any IdleTasks occuring.
    Any ideas?

    I have checked the Tomcat log, which does not give
    much information:
    ----- Root Cause -----
    org.apache.artimus.message.exceptions.MessageDAOSysExce
    tion: Error executing SQL in

    at
    org.apache.struts.action.RequestProcessor.processActio
    Perform(RequestProcessor.java:484)Tomcat has more than one log file. The servlet's System.out messages must be going to a different file if this is all you are seeing. Either look in the other log files or change the lines
             se.printStackTrace();
             throw new MessageDAOSysException("Error executing SQL in ThreadHandler.createThread.");  // line 54 where the problem occurredto simply read:
            throw se;and the actual Exception you want to investigate will go in to the file where you found the above. This will be less useful in the long run as you'll have the same problem when you want to query the SQLException further with System.out.println(se.getSQLState()); etc.
    You could add a logging configuration to your servlets context in server.xml so you can define where such messages get logged.
    Alternatively you could use a logging API like log4j.
