Stack with original has disappeared

I go to "edit in> photoshop elements 10> I get the pop up for "edit a copy with LR adjustment" or "Edit a copy" or "Edit original"
Also an arrow for file options "file format" ,"color space", "bit depth" and "resolution"  there is not a box anywhere for "stack with
original" there was one at one time, but it has disappeared.
Can anyone tell me how to get it back.
thanks

Your pics ARE in a folder, the folder is the physical location where your pics are stored. A collection is a way of organizing your photos into different sets, while leaving them at their original folder location. A collection is just a different view onto your images (similar to Libraries in Win7).
If you want/need to stack the derivate files created for edit in PSE with their originals (which IMHO makes sense), I would do the following:
Select all the images in your collection (Ctrl-A while in the collection)
Assign some unique metadata field (starts, color label, keyword "proofs" ...) to all of them
Switch to All Photographs
Use the metadata filter to filter on the metadata field assigned in step 2

  • Export dng to same folder and stack with original

When I have "developed" a raw file, I frequently want to save the result as a new raw file (dng) in the same folder as the original raw file.
It would save time if the export dialog box had a "save to same folder as original" option.
It would be even better if the export dialog had a "stack with original" option when exporting as a dng, so that the new developed raw file (dng) could be stacked with the original or original virtual copy it is developed from.
Btw, I know that I can start on a virtual copy and save the result with this. I actually do this in my workflow for. Saving this in a new rawfile is for:
    Further processing in other applications.
Clients that desire to have a copy of the raw-file(s).
Quickly transfer processed rawfiles together with tiffs for each client to a DVD

The default filename for exported files is he same name as the InDesign file, with the appropriate extension. If someone exports and changes the filename, then that becomes the default for that file in the future. If you export an INX file, then open that and re-save as an InDesign file you'll reset the default back to filename.
The default directory is usually the last directory exported to. At least, that's been my experience on Macintosh (Versions 4 and 5) and Windows XP (Using version 4).

I use Firefox 16.0.2 on Apple Leopard. Problem: when I use an url on a site, I am correctly transfered to the site of the url. But I can't go back again to the original site, on which the url was mentioned. the site has disappeared. Thanks in advance for your help!

You can also open the links in a new tab with a middle click on the link.<br />
That way you do not need to use the Back button, but can simply close a tab or otherwise return to the previous tab.<br />
Also make sure that you have the cache enabled and that the cache is working.<br />
Check the current cache usage on the about:cache page.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • Why is it that even though I have "stack with original" checked my images get put into other stacks?

It messes up my timeline for any wedding or event I shoot! Very annoying.

I absolutely know it's my  fault-but it's weird to be because it stacks correctly for some folders and then not for others. I do like to have them organized by capture time. They are all NEF (raw) files. With some images I will 'Ctrl E' to export in to PS to a little editing and then when Im done I will 'X' the photo and it saves back into lightroom-normally right next to the raw image that I started with. But sometimes it takes the photo to the middle or the end of the strip of photos at the bottom of my screen. I try stacking, auto stacking by capture time and I can't get them to get back in the original order I uploaded them into lightroom as.  This last set of images it created 5 stacks when I clicked auto stack by capture time. Is it something I can change when I'm shooting? I appreciate any help/ advise you can give me! I'm sure it's something in my settings that got messed up when I upgraded, but just not sure what-and I think I've looked at too long to be helpful to myself!!
    Thanks again!

  • Aperture claims the original has disappeared

I upgraded Aperture a few months ago and saved my library. I recently imported the pre-upgrade library, and I can see all the folders and I can open pictures. But I can't edit, print, or export the pictures; when I try to do so, Aperture says "The selected original image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again." The file is on the hard drive; there's nothing to reconnect. If I use the "Locate Referenced Files" command, it leads to a folder which appears to be empty when I open it up in Finder. Aperture doesn't see the old library at all, and won't import it. What do I need to do to import the old Aperture library into the new Aperture?
MBP with 10.7.5, Aperture 3.4.4, if it matters.
    Thanks for any suggestions,

I upgraded Aperture a few months ago and saved my library.
How did you save your library? Did you make a copy of the Aperture Library.aplibrary package using the Finder?
I recently imported the pre-upgrade library,
Did you use the command "File > Import > Library" to import the old Aperture Library into your new library, or what exactly did you do?
I can see all the folders and I can open pictures. But I can't edit, print, or export the pictures; when I try to do so, Aperture says "The selected original image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again."
This looks like your old Aperture library were using referenced files, and you only imported the previews and thumbnails, but not the referenced original files. That is what usually happens, when you are importing a referenced library.
The file is on the hard drive; there's nothing to reconnect. If I use the "Locate Referenced Files" command, it leads to a folder which appears to be empty when I open it up in Finder.
Is that the folder, where you have been storing your original image files, or is that a different folder? Have you moved your Aperture library and the originals be on another drive?
Do you have a Time Machine backup, so that you could go back in time and look if you can restore the folder from an earlier moment in time?

  • Lightroom doesn't stack photo with original back to lightroom when finished editing in photoshop

    Hi, hope someone can help.
My lightroom isn't broken, just an annoying thing is happening.
When I used to edit in photoshop, I would finish, photoshop would ask if I wanted to save changes, I would, then when I went back to lightroom the edited photo was right there next to the original raw (a tiff).
Now it doesn't show in lightroom.
I can get the tiff into lightroom by going to import, finding in the folder where the original raw file is and importing.
I have checked under settings, and the 'stack with original' is checked.
Just wondered if I had messed a setting somewhere.
    Thanks for you help
    Paul

    Thanks for your help 007.
I got it working, I reinstalled lightroom and it was still the same, no re-imports of edited photo's.
So here's what I did. I changed the file type when editing in photoshop to PSD (in preferences), and that worked. So I changed it back to TIFF and that works now too.
    Cheers
    Paul

  • All my shared info has disappeared in Calendar, can I restore?

Overnight everything in Calendar that others had shared with me has disappeared. Anyone got any idea how to restore please?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Possibly not, many people trying to restore lost calendars and contacts have found that restoring from a phone back up doesn't help.

  • Urgent help!! In 'export audio to movie' the final option to disable the original audio has disappeared. I am no longer allowed to deselect the audio tracks. Any ideas why Logic has stopped this?

    Greeting all
I'm creating a movie with a new music track and follow the appropriate steps as in the manual:
Choose format options for the bounced audio file, and click OK.
In the dialog that appears, enter a name and target folder for the movie, and click Save.Another dialog opens, allowing you to choose which of the original movie’s audio tracks should be used in the new movie.
Select the audio track that you want to retain in the new movie, and click OK.
The QuickTime movie is exported to the selected folder; it contains all selected audio tracks, plus the part of your project that is encompassed by the start and end points of the QuickTime movie.
However, this final dialog option 'select the audio tracks of movie to keep in new movie' has disappeared!!! For some reason Logic goes straight to bouncing without the offer to remove the original audio. My final movie ends up with both sets of audios. Any ideas please???
    Best
    Juan

It is still there and Logic did not remove it.
Did you do some trouble shooting.
Try to load a different video (with different codec) to see if it is video file related
Try a new (empty) project to see if it is project related
Try to remove Logic preferences (move the original back if this wasn't the problem because the file contains other info you might not want to lose)
    Hope that helps

Have you been trying to download from the app store? Did you get a message?
As a suggestion, you might go to an Apple store (genius bar appointment) for help. As far as I know, there should be no charge.

Open the Mac App Store on the other Mac and in the Quick Links sign into your account. See if the Mountain Lion purchase is among hidden apps in the iCloud area of your account info.

  • After downloading OSX Mavericks, my AOL mailbox has disappeared and all the AOL messages get dumped into the inbox along with the gmail messages. How can I get the AOL mailbox back?

After downloading OSX Mavericks, my AOL mailbox has disappeared and all AOL messages have been lumped in the inbox along with my gmail messages. What do I have to do to get my AOL mailbox back?

Linking AOL and gmail?  I don't know what that means.  But if it means what I think it does - that you have the AOL and gmail servers chatting directly with each other through some configuration, I'd definitely disable that.
In general, the messages either aren't deleted, or aren't correctly deleted, or there's a protocol or network error, or some sort of a mail server error.
First diagnostic is a mailbox repair.  Mail.app > Mailbox > Rebuild
Then verify that the credentials are correct and the connection is reliable:
    Mail.app > Window > Connection Doctor
And yes, if you have gmail and AOL chatting directly with each other, undo that.

It should be in your applications folder.  Locate it; click and hold onto it then drag it back to where it was.

That's consistent with trouble with the Segoe UI fonts on your system.
