Stacking photo albums on iPad

I've always had the impression one can stack albums on the ipad but can't make it happen.
In iphoto I created a folder. In that folder I placed a few albums.
But they just all appear as seperate albums when I sych.
I'd like to have a stack called headshots, for instance, then have several albums in that.
How do I do this??

I don't think that is possible since an iOS device does not have the file folder ability that a Mac or windows computer has.

    Dear Community members,
I am unable to synch photo albums from iPad 3 to iTunes on my Windows 7 pc.
In addition to Camera roll and iPod cache default albums, I have 6 other albums made from pix derived from the camera roll. Eg -  Family pix in a folder, Office pix in another, Plant pixs in another, House architecture pix in another.......all also exist in the camera roll.
I have trawled the net for the last 8 hrs in vain!
I have ios5 on Ipad 3 and the latest Itunes on Windows PC.
As a precaution, I have used the windows "add pictures from...." to keep a copy in a separate folder in the windows desktop, but again it has all the pics mixed up together and not sorted as per the various albums in the ipad!
How to replicate the albums in the windows PC???
    Regards

Sync the photos back to the iPad using iTunes. You have to place the photos into a folder from which you sync photos. All photos that you want to sync to the device must be included in the main photos folder and selected to sync each time that you sync.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Click on the Sync Photos From heading in order to select it.
Select the photos folder that you want to sync from.
Select all of the albums or photos within the folder that you want to sync.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
    You can read more here.

  • How do I delete photo albums from Ipad 2?

How do I delete photo albums or photos in photo albums from IPad 2?

If the photos that you want to delete are in the Camera Roll, just tap on the photo that you want to delete, then tap the trash can in the upper right hand corner and select delete. If you are in the thumbnail view, tap on the curved arrow icon in the upper right corner and then tap on the photo or photos that you want to delete, then tap on delete in the upper left part of the screen.
If the photos that you want to delete are on the iPad from a previous sync with iTunes, you have to sync to iTunes to delete them. Deselect the photos in iTunes while your iPad is connected and then sync and the photos will be removed from the device

  • All stacked photos show on iPad/iPhone

    Has anyone worked around this?
I stack images in Aperture. I set the pick to be the result of several images and several versions. Unfortunately, on the iPad/iPhone, ALL the photos show. All the physical and virtual versions are there for all to see.
Aside from separating the pick from the others and only including the pick in an album, is there any other way to not display all photos on the iPad/iPhone?

    BRILLIANT!
I'd like to thank all three of you looking, testing and responding. It appears the correct answer for me is to use the Stack Pick option in each smart album under Aperture.
I thought the problem was more pervasive, but after running several tests, that's what it was. I do still see some duplicate photos, but it appears to be unrelated to stacks. I do have photos showing on the "photos" tab, and I cannot figure out where they're loading from, but that's another issue.
I would have never though to look there, so I very much appreciate the help. I love Aperture and how configurable it can be. I'm glad someone was able to figure this out.

  • Is there a way to import just 1 photo album from iPad to my PC

Is there a way to import phots from just 1 album from my iPad to my PC?

Yes. Just sync that one album of photos. Its that simple. If that album is nested inside another photos album, just select that particular album in the Sync Photos From heading in the photos tab of iTunes.

  • Creating photo album in ipad

How can we create a photo album from the iPad and not from iTunes?

It's not possible I'm afraid. It has to be done on the computer and then the folders ( albums ) synced with the iPad through iTunes.

  • Searching photo albums on iPad

On the iPad is there a way to search for a particular photo album?  I have a large number of photo albums and it's usually difficult to find the particular one I'm looking for. I'm not sure it matters but I am using Aperture, not iPhoto, to sync with.

The way the iPad handles photos is a major flaw for me. When it syncs photo folders from my computer to the ipad it totally ignores all subfolders. So, on my ipad I have one huge album called Travel with all the photos from many different trips all combined as one. Why can't I have a subAlbums of all the different trips? The ipad really needs to be able to display subAlbums.

  • Sharing a photo album in ipad with iphotos on mac

i arranged a series of photos on my Ipad into an "album". I would now like to have that show up in Iphoto on my macbook, to build and order a hard-copy book, not a digital book. How can I get the album from my Ipad to Iphoto on the macbook?

Backing up with iCloud would not backup synced photos anyway. iCloud only works photos that you take with the iPad.
There are third party WiFi apps that will allow you to transfer the photos back to the Mac. You download the app to both devices and then you can send photos and videos to and from each device.
I use this one. There are others available in the App Store.

  • How to manage photo albums in iPad?

Well II6 is here and looks like you can create albums on iPad now. Great. However, also discovered that once you add photos to them, those albums dont sync back to your mac (itunes) or iphoto.
I use iphoto, and can sync albums down to my ipad (this is nothing new). But i cannot add photos from my ipad (or taken on my iphone) to an album downloaded from iphoto. However, you can add photos to an album created on the ipad.
Am I missing something? This seems to make no sense. If i spend all my time organizing in iphoto why would i not want those same albums i organize in ipad saved to iphoto? Ipad organization won't scale to manage all of my photos, and that is only ONE device.
Is this an oversight by Apple, or am i missing some key use case that i need to embrace? Would really appreciate input on this one.
    thank you,

    Send feedback to Apple.

  • Transferring a photo album from IPad onto a Macbook Pro?

I've created an album of holiday photos on my IPad. I would like to transfer the whole album to my Macbook Pro, at present only the photos are there (via photo stream). Could anyone tell me how to get the album from my Ipad onto my Mac please?

    Hello
Nearly 2 years since this topic was posted, and sounds like we still can't transfer pictures edited and classified into files on iPad from iPad to Mac ?
    does anybody have update ?
    cheers!

  • Email photo album from iPad

Can I e-mail a Photo "Album" from my iPad.  If "yes," please explain how to attach it.
    thanks

Have you checked your email account settings in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars ? Also have you tried logging into your account via a browser to check if your provider is performing maintenance and/or whether they have changed any of their settings ?
You could also try turning the account off and on and see if that makes any difference : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'

  • One thumbnail missing from a photo album on iPad 2

    Hi,
I have an iPad2 (iOS5) and have a few photo albums on it.  In one album, while the actual photo is there and visible, the thumbnail is missing.  In its place is a gray box with a ? in it.  Tap on that and the full image appears. Film strip also has the box with the ?.  I'd like to get the thumbnail back.  I've tried rebooting but that did nothing. Ideas? thanks!

You can only copy photos into albums that you've created directly on the iPad. If the albums were synced from your computer then the only way to add photos to them is to copy them into the folders on your computer and re-sync them - you can't add photos to synced albums directly on the iPad

  • Synced photo album in ipad cannot be deleted

  • Can't sync photo albums to iPad after update

I just updated my ipad2 to 5.0, and am running the current version of iTunes on a windows vista pc. And can not sync my photo albums to my iPad 2. Please help? I tried and while in iTunes , when iPad is connected, the summary page says my photos are on the iPad, they are not actually on the iPad. I go to photos on the iPad and there are outlines of the albums with their names on them, but no pictures inside. Can anyone help please?:)))

Try deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-try the photo sync and see if they then copy over - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314
