Stacking Shapes Causes Text to Disappear

I have 2 rectangle shapes that are .25 in height. Each has text that is a single word in a 9 pt font. When I stack the shapes the text in the top shape does not display. I have tried changing the inset margin but that did nothing. Is this a bug?

Click on both objects to select them. Click on the Wrap inspector, then uncheck Object Causes Wrap. Problem disappears.

Applying LiveFont causes text to disappear

When I apply a livefont to my text, the text goes invisible? Anyone have this problem? i've even soloed the track and still, no text. i've moved down the timeline to various locations on the text and still no text.
Is it possible the LiveFonts are not loaded on my machine, even though they're displayed in the library?

Stephen, you still around? I'm having another issue now, when I apply a live font to text, it seems fine for the first 100 frames or so, then the first letter pops off (disappears). i've tried different live fonts with same result.
I also went through every tab in the inspector and scrubbed the timeline from where the first letter is visible to where it disappears and can't find anything that's changing over time.
ugh. pulling hair out now. not enough time to debug this stuff as I'm on a deadline.

.embedFonts = true causing text to disappear?

Why would this happen?
I've added Helvetica to my Library. I've set it to export for Actionscript. I've given it the name 'Helvetica'. I'm setting the defaultTextFormat. Then I tell it to embedFonts, and the bloody textfield doesn't show up.

Wierd, up until recently this was working on the same project, which has always been AS3. But you're right, instantiating the font, and passing the font's fontName variable worked. Thanks kglad.

Grouping Causes Text Threads to Disappear; Photo commentary with captions

Is there a way to group picutres inside my text frames without making text threads disappear? As soon as I select my text, photos, and jump text, the text threads disappear.
Also, is there a formal way of adding text commentary to a photo? I'd like to use the term "captions" but I know that captions mean a different thing in InDesign.

I want to save a shape with text as a picture

I am using Word for Mac. I want to combine images with text and save it all together as a picture or jpeg file. I am using a shape and inserted the images and added the text. I know I have done this before but I can't remember what I did. I thought it had to do with how the shape is formatted, but I have tried all the options and the option to "save as picture" is never available. I also tried inserting shapes and texts together in a text box. I tried grouping everything. I hope one of you brilliant people can help! Thanks.

You could try a detour via a PDF document and Preview:
In Word use "File > Print" and press the "PDF" button in the lower left corner. Then select "Open in Preview". This will open your image in Preview. There you can crop it and export the cropped image as a png file or a jpeg using "File > Export". Select a different format in the "Format" pop-up menu:

Text UDF Disappear in CRYSTAL Layout

Hi all,
I built a SBO layout for sales quotation in crystal 2008.
When i display the layout in the crystal editor every thing works fine, but when i open the layout in SBO all the text UDF disappears (including their column headers).
Numeric UDF are displayed fine.
Does anyone have a clue for the source of this problem.

are you using Stored Procedure or direct to tables?
i will recommend you use Stored Procedure and use the SQL CAST to achieve the desired output.

It seems my "passed" events in my calendar are not on my iphone anymore...Is there a setting I have changed that caused them to disappear? They do still appear on my Outlook calendar on my pc? How can I get them to show up on my iphone again?

Events that are in the past do not appear on my calnedar on my iphone. Have I possibly changed a setting that caused them to disappear? Can I get them back on my iphone as they do still appear on my Outlook calendar on my PC?

Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> in Calendar section change the Sync setting.

Is there a new virus that affects Firefox? My browser is fine for a while and then the text will disappear, also some of the control buttons.

This has been going on at least 3 months with the browser. The back arrow will disappear, sometimes the text completely disappears, sometimes you can see it but its unreadable, looks like the letters are missing pixels. Sometimes the images get corrupted with black pixelation. If you quit and restart it goes away, for a while.
The problem seems to be affecting my online games as well. I play "Steampunk Tower" on Yahoo!'s free game tab and it always crashes my machine hard, as in abruptly shuts down the system with no warning. This is not the only game to be affected.

Same problem here! Driving me nuts that it is somehow "running" as shown in the task bar, but it is not accessible in any way.

Text in text captions disappearing.

I am using Captivate 6. When I save and close my project and then re-open it, the text inside my text captions disappears. I can still see the text caption box, but there is no text. It is also happening with buttons. I can see the text on the thumbnails in my filmstrip, but the captions on my stage are blank. Sometimes the text reappears if I click on the text box, but other times Captivate just shuts down all together (with no warning). I've been having a lot of trouble with Captivate 6 (compared to previous versions) and I thought maybe some of my issues were related to the fact that I was saving and publishing my projects on a network drive. I started and saved this one on my hard drive and still, I'm having this same problem with the text captions. Any thoughts?

Hi! I found a solution to my problem. Having 59 corrupted modules (French and English) including the separate training menus, believe me, I had to find a solution.
My template from 5.0 was a blank one with images I had added (top logo, etc). In order to make my modules as WCAG as possible, I had merged these images in the background (in the master slides). But even before then, I was having the problem.
I created a brand new template in Captivate 6.0 after running the batch file (not sure if this made a difference but eh...). A good point now is that we don't have to merge images in master templates anymore, the system does not let you do it but they are merged automatically on the slides! This is a great new feature I didn't know about. After completing my new template, I created a new project from the template, copied all slides from my corrupted file and pasted them into the new project and it's solved! The text is now appearing, the preferences were created by default.

Try closing the Mail app via the taskbar and see if the email text shows when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it they try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
