Hi all,
I need stage area of Oracle R 11i ebs and linux software for 64 bit laptop. I want to install it for R&D purpose.
More, is there available videos to guide technical part. I shall be very thankful for your kind help.

Setting Stage area takes long time

Is normal for the staging utility that comes with rapidwiz to cerate stage area to take about 20 hours?
The media is DVD

I have 6 DVD for 11i and I submitting the adautustage.pl and it just takes for ever for stage all the CDs. I remeber doing stage area for Windows for about 20+ cDs and they all were staged in less than 2 hours. I am not sure if its the DVD-ROM drive read speed that's an issue or what. BTW, I am using Athlon 64 board with 2G ram.

Stage area directory structure for new installation of 11.5.10.2

Hi, this goes on from the last thread I posted. I have this issue with creating the stage area structure.
Of importance is the fact that I am not mounting individual DVDs, but that I have already copied each DVD into its own sub directory of a directory I have named Ora11.5.10.2. There are 8 DVDs in the bundle.
This is the structure I have right now:
Directory: Ora11.5.10.2
Sub Directories (names directoy from DVDs):
APPL_TOP_Disk1
APPL_TOP_Disk2
Databases_Disk1
Databases_Disk2
Databases_Disk3
RDBMS_Disk1
Start_Here
TOOLS_Disk1
According to the documentation, http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25516_14/current/acrobat/r115102ins.pdf, the stage area created by the adautostg.pl should be in place before we run Rapid Install.
My question is how to match what I have at the moment with the structure as explained on Page 1-12 in the above doc.
Looking at the diagram:
Directory is Stage11i
Sub directories are :
StartCD (easy)
oraApps
oraDB
oraAS
oraAppDB
oraNLS (not needed by us)
So, with the available DVDs I have copied into my own sub-directories, how do they match up with the above recomended sub directories? In short, which DVDs do I copy into which sub directory?
Im at a loss really. Our Senior DBA is engaged in something very mission critical elsewhere which is why I am asking any pros out there for some tips.

All you need for adautostg.pl is the top directory like /Ora11.5.10.2. If you have access to a DVD drive on an AIX machine, just run adautostg.pl. I installed ActivePerl on a Windows box and created the staging area onto Samba mounted filesystems for both Linux and Solaris.

OSP (Oracle Software Packager): 'Missing Component' when Verify Stage Area

I'm trying make a stage area for "Oracle Net 9.0.1.2.0". ( I haven´t find the way to Install alone this product with the CD's of Oracle 9iDS Release 2 ).
When I import Oracle Net 9.0.1.2.0 ( with the option "Import dependee" selected ) and make the Stage it´s gone right, but when I verify the Stage Area always show this errors;
Error: Not all the dependencies for the component Assistant Common Files
9.0.2.0.0 are found. Missing Component oracle.swd.jre 1.1.8.1.0.

I find this directories from "oracle." components in CD of Oracle 9iDS, but if I selected manually its, error that it´s show is;
The file specified is either corrupt or not a valid cmp file.
How and where I can find this components?

You have to create UP2DATE_RPM yourself. The, for your repository os, correct rpm can be downloaded from https://linux.oracle.com/switch.html f.i. to /tmp
zip up2date_comp.zip up2date-5.10.1-40.8.el5.x86_64.rpm (and maybe also the correct gnome rpm if it's not default installed).
Now this zip-file can be uploaded into the Software Library as described in OEM Advanced Configuration:
The Software Library by default contains the latest version of up2date for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, i386 hardware platform. If the Staging Server is of a different release version or architecture (use uname -p on your system to identify the architecture), download the appropriate version of "up2date" and "up2date-gnome" packages from the link http://linux.oracle.com/switch.html. Compress these two packages by using Zip utility into a file named "up2date_comp.zip" and replace it in the Software Library location, "Components > Oracle Components > Stage Server Up2date Component > 10.2.0.4.0 > Linux > UP2DATE_RPM".
The way I uploaded the zip file: Deployments > Provisioning > Components > Oracle Components > Stage Server Up2date Component > 10.2.0.4.0 > Linux > select UP2DATE_RPM, Edit, Upload file, Upload from Agent Machine. Select Agent and go to the directory /tmp and select up2date-comp.zip.
Maybe this not completely up-to-date anymore, but I hope it helps you.

R12 Install Error: how to check stage area by MD5SUM / dos2unix

I am facing R 12 Install Error at Stage 3 to 5 at 92%... Windows Xp SP3
I have searched alot through this forum and resolved most of erros but for this error i found Hussein Sawwan always telling other users to run md5sum checksum for stage area integrity and i do the same thing but my md5sum command failed for all lines with error: ": *FAILED open or read*"
How do i try to make it a unix file using: dos2unix <checksum file> <checksum file> ?
Just give example commands for dos2unix <checksum file> <checksum file>.
One more thing,
I have downloaded Zipfilles for R 12.1.1 edelivery.oracle.com and when i run the sript file in rapidwiz folder *.PL Command window appers copy StartCD in the directory where is specify then a messages comes to insert CD/DVD for rdmsDB !!!
What i do i m not using any CD/DVD ...??

Setting up stage area
1. Log in as the operating system user with sufficient privileges to mount, umount,
and eject the DVD. This user must also have write privileges to the stage area that
you set up.
2. Insert the Start Here disk in the DVD-ROM drive.
3. Mount the DVD (conditional)
If your system runs on a UNIX platform, and if you do not use AutoMount, you
must mount the Start Here disk at this time.
4. Verify software version (perl).
You must have perl 5.0053 or higher installed, and it must be in your PATH. Use
the following commands to identify the perl version and its location. The
command is the same for both UNIX and Windows platforms:
perl -v
If perl is not present, download it from perl.com. For Windows users, the perl
shipped by MKS is not certified. Use ActivePerl, which you can also download
from perl.com.
5. Run the adautostg.pl script.
UNIX:
$ cd
$ perl /mnt/cdrom/Disk1/rapidwiz/adautostg.pl
Windows:
C:\> perl d:\mnt\cdrom\Disk1\rapidwiz\adautostg.pl
The stage script message informs you that you can stage all the Rapid Install
components or only selected components.
6. Set up the stage area directory.
At the prompt for the stage directory, enter the name of the system top-level
directory. The Rapid wizard stage11i directory will be created in this path. For
example, if you enter /u01 as the top-level directory, the resulting directory path
will be /u01/Stage11i.
7. Indicate the components to be staged.
The script prompts you to choose the components that you want to stage:
1 - to choose Oracle Applications
2 - to choose Oracle Applications with NLS
3 - to choose Oracle Database technology stack (RDBMS)
4 - to choose Oracle Applications database (Databases)
5 - to choose Oracle Applications technology stack (Tools)
6 - to choose APPL_TOP
7 - to choose National Language Support (NLS) Languages
Enter one or more components, separating each one with a space. You can indicate
that you want to stage only the database technology stack (3), only the APPL_TOP
(6), and so on. If you choose 1 (the default), all the components will be staged.
However, this choice does not include the NLS component. You must explicitly
select it by choosing 2, or by indicating that you want to stage language (NLS)
software (7).
8. Indicate whether you will stage language (NLS) software (conditional).

Getting Started 1-11
If you choose 1 or 7 at the prompt, the script asks you for the language code of the
languages to be staged. If you enter more than one language, separate the codes
with a space.
9. Insert the Rapid Install DVD.
Insert the Rapid Install software as required in the prompt. The system message
lists the files it has copied and their location in the stage area directory.
10. Insert the NLS DVD (conditional).
If you indicated that you will install languages, the script prompts for the
language software it needs to complete your installation.

Can I copy the "Stage Area" and use it on other machine; R12; OEL 6;

Hello All,
I am trying to install R12 (with Vision demo database) on my Linux machine.
I have copied the stage area from another machine, and I want to use it on this machine.
I am trying to run the rapidwiz from the copied stage directory.
It initiates, but is now ending up with a RW-5004 error.
I have tried to install R12 several times now, but no success so far.
I dont know the specifications for the last machine, but the staging has been done on a Linux platform.
The present machine is
RAM : 8 GB
HDD : 400 GB
OS : OEL 6 (64 bit)
all the necessary packages are installed.

I have read all your previous posts indication this error to be generic in nature.
Well, I have read the error logs of different nodes, but without having much success in it.
At last, after too much of trying I deleted my VM machine and now I am installing the machine again, with fingers crossed.
My biggest question is "Can I copy the "Stage Area" of another machine of same configuration and use it on other machine" ?

Exporting only document/stage area

I'm redoing a flash file that someone else created.
The person included content that goes outside the stage area.
And I don't want to include that content. I just want to export the
material that is within the stage. (In other words the "white" area
of the stage, and not anything that falls over into the grey area
of the stage.
But when I export the file it includes material outside the
stage.
I don't see any option in export that says "export only stage
area". So I need your help!

If you are exporting as a swf you wont be able to do that. If
its a static image then jsut cut the edges of... or export as a
picture which will give you the option to jsut export the stage
area. unless its causing bandwidth problems it shouldn't be an
issue anyway , the only reason why it would matter was if your html
swf object was out of proportion, causing it to show stuff around
the edge.

How to Stage EBusiness Suite 11i (media) DVDs to linux server

I've just recevied the media for Oracle Ebusiness Suite 11i in DVD format. I do not have a DVD reader on the VM paravirtual server which is where I need to install Oracle EBusiness Suite. As such I need a way to copy the entire DVD media to a file and then place that file into its own directory and unpack it so that I can install via rapidwiz.
What are some options for staging the EBusiness Suite media DVDs? . I have to mount each DVD and then is there a way to copy the contents of the DVD to one file so that I can then copy it to the desired server directory and then install?

Items off the stage are showing up in the browser. How do I stop this?

When learning Flash, I was taught in the beginning that only items that appear on the stage actually show up in the final animation. Clearly, these people were wrong. I thought it would be easy to have some text move in from off the right side of the stage to the middle, but the text still shows up even before it enters the stage in the browser. I have tried to change this using various publishing options, HTML, and CSS, with no luck. I did have to resize the stage, and I'm not sure if that means anything. Can someone help me figure this out? Thank you.

Here are a few things I noticed:
No DOCTYPE for the page:

Next, your main container is 1000px wide (as per your CSS) but in your IE conditional you are placing a 1500 px wide .swf inside.
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="1500" height="217.....
so for course that won't work. In IE that results in a bottom scroll bar no matter how wide a monitor... it's never wide enough to display without scrollbar
FF is different because:

You're using smaller dimensions....so set them both the same.
If your main container is 1000px wide, then the stage size of your .swf should be 1000px, not 1500, not 713. Then set the width/height of the <div> holding your .swf to the exact same size as the .swf. That should eliminate any off stage stuff from showing.

Images will not appear on Stage area of Adobe Flash Professional

I have Adobe Flash Professional CS5.
Yesterday I successfully created an animation.
Later the same day I tried to create another and the images will not appear on the stage.
I loaded in PNG files - which worked the first time - now they will not show up.
I can see their binding boxes on the stage, and move those but the images just do not show up.
When I hit ctrl + enter to preview, I can see the images in the preview movie - just not on the stage working area!
I tried restarting, shutting down, updating my PC, uninstalling programs, loading different file types (jpg), and resaving and reloading the PNG files. I even tried different types of Flash defaults. NOTHING WORKS.
I hope someone can tell me what is wrong this makes no sense!

Before you drag the image from the library to your stage, make sure you insert a blank keyframe (F6) on the layer you are working with, then drag to stage. This worked for me.

Install Problem : crateing stage area

when i invoke adautostg.pl; i get the following error

If you are executing the staging script from the CD/DVD,
you must change the current directory in this

I installed VMWare 6.5 and the same problem. My configuration is:
Virtual Machine :

1px is missing from text, but not in the stage area

So my issue is this. I have some text, static, arial. The letter "F" has the top bar missing so it almost looks like a t. But this only looks like this when I render. In the staging area while viewing actual pixels the F looks perfectly fine. Is there a way to fix this without making the text thicker? Whats worse is that when i do custom anti alias settings and thicken the font by 200(which is the max) it actually is thicker than some of the other texts but the to of the F is still missing....its practically bolder than the actual bold setting and its messed up....
I tried to make sure that its positioning is not on a decimal point with no success(that includes any other layers that the text is in).
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

PL 32 is taken back from the portal and the PL 31 is re-available. If you have had upgraded the PL, downgraded it back except you want the bug or error in the PL 32 still exists, just use it.
PL 34 will be available within several days next. Adios amigo...Zorro.

Objects added to the stage are not animated by AnimatorFactory

Hi all,
the following code ist a very simple animation. I added an object to the stage by dragging it from the library. Then I applied code generated by "Copy motion as AS 3" and the animation works fine.
However, if i add another object by instating it in AS, add it to the stage by stage.addChild(...), and try to animate it by adding it as a target to the AnimatorFactory nothing happens.(Probably I made a simple newbi mistake.)
Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks a lot in advance.

in your coding problem, instead of adding myClip1 to the stage, add it to the main timeline.
