Staging fails with x64 WinPE on windows 8.1 Update

Hi,
I am facing issue in staging x64 boot file on windows 8.1 Update. It is config manager 2012 R2.
I know there is some issues staging boot files (32 and 64 bit both) on windows XP but do we have any issues related to boot files not working on windows 8.1 update 1 also?
I have created TS that will take usmt and then redeploy 8.1 update. TS starts and perform USMT backup but fails at staging the boot files. Pl. find screen shot as below..
Regards,

Open cmtrace.exe, navigate to Tools -> Error lookup and check what 80070020 tells you.

  • HT4623 update process fails with the following message "Unable to Verify Update.  iOS 6.1 failed verification because you are no longer connected Internet."

my iphone 5 is connected to a wi-fi network and i'm able to browse the web and receive emails.  however when i try to update the software the process fails with the following message "Unable to Verify Update.  iOS 6.1 failed verification because you are no longer connected Internet." It gives an open to "Close" or "Try again", but the retry is also unsuccessful.

Try to connect to secure web site. If you can't, that would mean that your iphone is unable to authenticate itself to apple servers in order to download update. If you can - I would still guess same but with less certainty and suggest to update on another network.

    Hi,
I've seen the same error on a customer where we had Windows Intune Client (SCCM) installed previously. Did you try it on a newly deployed computer? If you had Intune or another CCM client on it previously make sure you clean it up. Here is a well formulated
    instruction:
    http://douwevanderuit.wordpress.com/2014/01/30/removing-windows-intune-client/
Usually when deploying to many clients we use a startup script, there is a great one that Jason Sandys made in the link below.
    http://blog.configmgrftw.com/configmgr-client-startup-script/
There should be no problems deploying SCCM 2012 R2 clients on Windows 8.1 unless there is something wrong with either the setup or the client computer.

  • Connector install fails with Server Error on Windows 8.1 Pro

I have tried everything and cannot get the connector software to install on my computer.

Computer = Dell Inspiron 17R, Windows 8.1 Professional
LAN = 192.168.0.0/24, Server is 192.168.0.2, not using IPv6 but it's enabled on server and clients. Computers get IP and config from DHCP, DNS only points to server. servername.domain.local resolves fine. I can also join the computer to AD the old way
(without connector). I have other Windows 8 comptuers on the domain that have the connector installed.

I found the issue. The web.config file became damaged on the server. C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin\WebApps\CertWebService\Web.config is the file. Performed a search and replace, replace all instances of "%SBSPRODUCTBINPLACEHOLDER% with C:\Program Files\Windows
Server\Bin, restart IIS and run the Connector software install again. Here is a KB on the issue:

  • Cisco VPN client install fails with Error 1722 on Windows 7

    Hi,
I am having issues with laptops upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.
Prior to the upgrade they are running Cisco VPN Client 5.0.05.0290.  These laptops also have Juniper Network Connect 6.5 and Citrix web client installed.  The windows upgrade advisor made no recommendations regarding uninstalling / reinstalling these apps.
I have done an inplace upgade to Windows 7 (Windows Vista Enterprise 32bit to Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit) and after the install the Cisco client is not working.  Uninstalled the client (the uninstall was successful) then reinstalled and the installation fails at Installing Cisco Systems Virtual Adapter - error 1722 there was a problem with the windows installer package.
I have followed the steps for a manual uninstall of the Cisco client and then tried the install again - still not successful.  Interestingly (or not) the Juniper Network Connect also fails with the error The Network Connect Virtual adapter driver is not installed properly.  This also fails to reinstall after being removed.
I tried removing the VPN clients on another laptop and then running the upgrade but the same errors occured when reinstalling the VPN Client.  I have tried the Winfix and DNE patch from Citrix but these fail saying there is a corruption in the application.
On another laptop where only the Cisco VPN client was installed a reinstall was required after the upgrade, but it did install successfully.
On a clean image these applications all install fine, however I have a large number of laptops do upgrade and don't want to do a fresh install and settings migration on all of them.
What files / registry entrys are involved with the DNE adapter so I can manually clear it all out before reinstalling?
Anything else I can do to troubleshoot this issue?
    Cheers,
    James

You should be able to install the 64 bit version of the Cisco VPN software
    Latest version is vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9.exe
You should download and run MCPR.exe first, to clean out any traces of McAfee products that conflict with Cisco VPN.
    http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
If there is a problem with vbscript registration on the system - there is a fixit tool from Microsoft for that:
    MicrosoftFixit50842.msi
(Using Shrew VPN is a possible workaround.)

    Any ideas?

    Hey adairlw,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
What security software is currently installed on the computer?
Also can I get you to re-name the install shield folder which is located under C:\Program files\common files.  Once you re-name the folder, then try to install the software.
I look forward to your reply.

  • Silent fail with Flashbuilder due to Windows indexing service!

    Hi,
since I installed Flashbuilder b1 in April I got again and again silent fails.
I could change by code, but sometimes all changes where ignored. That was very frustrating.
Last week I switched the index service off, and voila no more problems since then!!!
It seems to lock some files, that seems to block eclipse somehow.
You can deativate it for Vista under
    right mouse on Hardisk Partition->Properties
deselect the the checkbox "Index this drive for faster searching"
    Confirm it for all folder.
    Hope this will help someone!
    Martin Zach

    Hi David,
you can test it if you like:
Switch on indexing for your project folder. Within 7 days you will get problems for shure!
I realized it because I got the problem again, that Flashbuilder stopped to compile my new code and used the old compiled files.
Then I left for an appointment for about 3 hours. After I returned, I tried it again and then it works! I haven't changed any of my code or configuration.

I am taking "fails with many clients" to mean that the method fails with "certain clients". (At first I thought maybe you meant, "once you have a lot of clients connected, it fails").
This is due to limitations of Web Browsers as FTP clients.
Even within the "standard" FTP world, it is generally accepted that Web Browsers make lousy FTP clients. This is especially true for use of this feature, which is definitely not "standard". Web Browsers make so many assumptions about what to do with a URL that you type in, or how to build the file links to what is found at the destination, that they just cannot make reasonable use of this special feature.
This FTP "remote server navigation" feature was brought over from NetWare. Web Browsers couldn't make use of it then, either.
I expect this navigation feature to work on:
    - command line clients
    - GUI FTP clients, *if* they allow you to enter an explicit command so you can enter the "cd" command manually, rather than just click to navigate.

I would recommend you to remove completely iTunes and Apple Mobile Device support and then reinstall the latest iTunes version.

Hi, I tried updating to windows 8.1 serveral times, it downloads and fails after restrarting machine. Is Windows 8.1 update available for HP Pavilion g6-2005ax ?

, Hello and thanks for posting on the HP support forums.  At this point it only shows support for up to windows 8 but not 8.1. HP Pavilion g6-2005ax Notebook PC At this point I would stick to windows 7 that the system came with. Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • I can register an OCX file in Windows 7 x64 without incident but with Windows 7 x32 I get a p-up that says "DllRegisterServer failed with error code: 0x80004005. What gives???

Hey yeah.  not much else to say.  The title says it all.
I'm trying to register an OCX file that my video editing application requires to work properly.
I'm using a  Registry (Regsvr32 and Regsvr64) tool to Register DLL/OCX files.  Both bit Registry tools work fine. I can Register any DLL or OCX file with Windows 7 x64 and everything goes smoothly.
But, when in Windows 7 x32, again, no problem with merging the Regsvr32 tool, but when I go to register the OCX file message says it was loaded but the DllRegisterServer failed with error: 0x80004005.

Here Kitty, Kitty...that's my Kitty Kat, he's a Kat, because he is kat...kat.

    I don't know what happened.
My Video Editing software was working fine a few days ago in Windows 7 x64.  Tried using it this morning....couldn't load the .mpg video clip.  Just stood there looking stupid like it does in the 32-bit version of Windows 7.
I was hoping the x64 version of Windows 7 RC 7100 was going to make a decent run against my XP Pro SP3 setup. When I was able to register the required .ocx file for the video editing application, I thought "cool".  I made a TV recording then used the Video Editor to edit it and it worked fine.  Earlier this morinng I made another TV recording, went to go edit it and the video editing application couldn't load the .mpg file at all.  This problem just annihilated any chance of me ever purchasing Windows 7, 32 or 64-bit.GA P35 DQ6 Mb, Intel Wolfdale 8600 3.33Ghz C2D CPU., 4x2Gb Mushkin DDR2 1066 PC2 8500 Ascents Memory Mods., PNY-nVidia GE Force 8800 GTS (640MB), 4-Western Digital Caviar SATA(2) HDD's (internal), 1 EIDE-USB External; Hauppauge PVR 1600 TV tuner, Dual Monitor: (1) Standard up top, (1) WideScreen below; Altec Lansing Speakers. • ThinkVantage System Update 4, Windows 7 x64, and LAN repository are failing with T410 laptops

I've been using TVSU/TVUR for a few years and they're excellent tools.  Life would be much harder without them.
Recently I acquired some ThinkPad T410's with Windows 7.  As usual, I applied an existing Windows 7 image (from a T400), and ran TVSU.  Group Policy settings populate the TVSU reg keys with the UNC path to the update repository on my LAN.  So far so good.
Now things get weird.  TVSU asks for a username and password when first connecting to the repository at \\servername\sharename\path.  That shouldn't be necessary - I can browse that path as the logged-in domain user.
No matter what I put in the username/password prompt, whether I hit OK or cancel, TVSU proceeds to scan the directories in \\srvername\sharename\path for relevant updates.
Once it finds 15 updates, I select them.  Clicking on the "details" option for any updates brings up an empty window, no text.  If I try to download updates, it starts chugging along and quickly finishes, reporting "15 packages did not download".
I don't have this problem with other Win 7 x64 T400's, or other laptops running other OS's.  I don't think the repository is corrupt, since other systems can download and install updates.
Where do I go from here?

Here's the interesting part, near the end, of the tvsu log on another T410 with the same symptoms after tagging two updates for download, and failing to download both:

  • CHKDSK fails on fresh install of Windows 7 x64 on mid-2009 MBP with SSD

There was an earlier post about this that has been archived prematurely that I will reproduce below. The main issue is a flaw in the Windows 7 x64 CHKDSK of the SSD drive in the mid-2009 MBP= 5,2. With fresh OSX installs, bootcamp 3.1, Windows 7 x64 all updates, the CHKDSK operation checks files at about 1 per second in stage 4 of 5, verifying file data.
Moderators: please leave this open until it is actually resolved.

Windows 7 x64, MacBook Pro, frequent CHKDSK after HDD firmware update
    Posted: Nov 2, 2009 6:45 AM
Hello, I have been having filesystem problems on my Windows 7 partition since the HDD related firmware update (the latest Performance update) was released and installed onto this mid 2009 MacBook Pro.
The HDD is a 500 GB 7200 RPM model, but it never gave me any troubles under OS X before the "fix" and I know other users had intermittent problems with the HDD on their MacBook Pro's related to the HDD making noises and pausing.
The fix was released, I installed it and I started seeing my first problem in Windows 7 x64 a few days after... I cleanly shut the OS down, but when I booted it back it asked me to perform a coherency check to the Filesystem... I thought that the problem was related to the fact that I was using the RC1 build of Windows 7... although that problem never manifested itself in the weeks before the Performance Update (HDD firmware fix) was installed and Windows 7 x64 RC1 had been on there and used frequently.
I recently purchased Windows 7 retail a few days ago and after a bit of trouble-free operation I started having problems again... always shutting the PC down carefully and I was asked to run the CHKDSK utility at boot twice already.
    What to do?

    Hi there,
I have a different experience. I installed Windows 7 before the "performance update 1.0" came out. I actually experienced the chkdsk launch problem with Windows 7. I had done repartitioning and clean-install several times but cannot solve the problem. So I tried to install XP and Vista on my MBA (Mid 2009 with SSD) and found that these two OS doesn't introduce such problem.
To be honest, I'm not sure which caused such problem, Windows 7, a bootcamp driver, or EFI. But I'm sure that CHKDSK in Windows 7 has an obvious bug that needs to be patched (memory leak and maybe this problem as well). So now I'm using Windows Vista SP2. And I'm happy with Vista SP2 (seems to become faster and stable now).
    Cheer,
