Staging to Active area

Hi Friends,
Can you response to my basic questions on MDG?
1. How the records are moved from staging area to active area? Is there any interface available? How the records are moved from staging table to active table?
2. In Flex mode is there a specific table for active area or If the records are stored only in the staging table with indicator for active record.
Thanks
Bala

it depends on how you build your custom attributes. they can either be flex or re-use attributes. in the first case, you don't have to worry about moving data to the active area as the system will automatically do it for you. if you want your custom attributes stored in the re-use area then you will have to make sure the access class handles those. you can create your own access class or enhance the standard class. please review the http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7858 document for the different enhancement scenarios as each has its own method of handling this.

  • Create Material directly in active area without approval process ( Bypasing Staging)

    Hi Experts ,
       I have one requirement where Material need to be created directly in active area with out any approval process.
    So I need to bypass staging area data store.
    Please give your valuable input to achieve that.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Samrat

    Hello,
    From the discussion above, I can understand this is a requirement. However, I would like to understand the reasoning behind this requirement. The whole point behind MDG is to avoid direct creation of master data and instead "govern" the process first. If you are going to create material, then use MM01 directly as Sanjay suggested.
    If you are looking for a web-based UI, you are better off looking for a standard Web Dynpro application (or create your own) instead of mis-using the MDG application.
    In any case, you can't completely by-pass the staging area. However, you can configure a single-step rule-based workflow such that the material goes into "activation" immediately. Keep in mind that the material will not be available immediately, but will take a few minutes depending on your system configuration until the material is activated completely in the system. Error handling, etc. will need to be done on the MDG layer which could prove to be an unnecessary burden should you decide to go this route.

  • Trophy:Back button activation area not as wide?

    i dont know if its supposed to be designed this way but with my back button i have to push the screen/button about 1mm from the left side of that arrow. but with the search button i can push/activate from the area about 3mm on the right of the image. testing it from the sides of the screen it seems like the search button has a wider activation area. is yours like that too?

    today i tried the phones in two of my local vzw stores and the area you have to press is similar to my phone. the area you need to push the back button is farther from the left compared to the right with the search button. i wont be able to get a replacement for my current trophy yet. (gotta call #611 later)(for that high pitch tone when the screen is on (i got a post about my issue in the forums))

  • Active area not lined up with link

    Hi,
    At jeffreykorst.com, there are links to a photography section and a magic section. In Safari (2.04) the active area of the link is below the text. In Firefox (3.01) it lines up correctly.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks very much,
    Jeffrey

    Safari uses a JavaScript to create a canvas. That's the area you see in Safari and not in Firefox because Firefox does not support that JavaScript.
    It's the outline around your name in the second image that's blocking the link. Did you move that area to the back.
    Here's a sample page to replicate the problem:
    http://www.wyodor.net/Overloop/JK.html
    The caption says it all.
    In Safari the Photography link does not work. In Firefox it does.
    But when both textboxes are moved to the front they work. And while in iWeb, hovering the mouse over the link you'll see the color change.
    Also note the difference between hyperlinking the TEXT and hyperlinking the TEXTBOX. MSIE does not respond to hyperlinked TEXTBOXES.
    Isn't iWeb supposed to look the same as in a browswer?
    It should. But in iWeb you also see the layout and all that stuff. In the end it's in the browser where everything is displayed. With all the anomalies you now encounter.
    Never trust what you see.

  • Active area is getting closed as soon as you click anywhere during Inplace editing

    During inplace editing of Title component , if I double click at the the component
    it will open orange color active area and if I click inside the active area  it will remain  there and it will close only if I click outside the active area.
    But now when i am making a composit component which statically include two  title component and for inplace editing to work node should be present so i have created cq:template node which make two node , one for each title component. Now when I double click on any one of the title component then it is opening orange color
    active area for inplace editing and i am able to do it but active area is getting closed as soon as i click anywhere, be it inside the active area or outside the
    area, ideally it should close only when i click outside the active area. does anybody any idea on it?

    Hi John,
    I am using the web version. I am getting this error in Java version 7. I just tried in another machine with Java version 6 and I was able to add the member without any issue.
    Your question answered my question :-) . Thanks a lot.
    Is that meant that I should not use Java 7.

  • Form of active area

    I need create button - pointer with active area (with triangle form) to next menu-screen! So, now active area have rectangle form.
    How I can do it (pointer with active area with triangle form)?

    You can create a Button, with a triangular graphic on it, BUT the active area of that Button will be a rectangle, that encompasses all of the elements of that Button. There is no way to change the shape from a rectangle, but the user will not see that rectangle. All they will see will be the grahics and the Sub-picture Highlight, if one is created. That Sub-picture Highlight can take on almost any Shape, from a triangle to a multi-sided polygon, but that will be inside the rectangle, that defines the Button and all of its elements. Note: with multiple Buttons, there can be NO overlap of those rectangles. They must be separate and must never overlap.
    Hope that helps, and good luck,
    Hunt

    I have a horizontal spy main menu

    when displayed are 160px. The active area for menubarhorz1 and

    says it is 131px.

    any direction would be appreciated...
    this is the AS that is used,
    onClipEvent (enterFrame) {

    } else {
    homeX = (-_root.mainVar)+600;

    is it possible to use an onClipEvent (mouseMove) with _ymouse

  • Keeping Control of Active Area Dimentions

    As the subject reads, I am having a hard time keeping control
    of my button
    dimensions.
    I am starting with a 12pt "About" text and converting it to
    button symbol.
    The Up and Over state reads 16x46, in the Active Area I
    unchecked the "set
    active area automatically" and set my own dimensions of
    20x48. Now, when I
    place the button symbol in the stage it reads 17x48!
    I forgot to mention I added a bit of glow to the over state,
    but it is
    almost negligible.
    To top it off, the slice name is a million digit number,
    instead of a slice
    number format.
    Is there a better technique to have a tighter control of my
    buttons?
    Thank you for your assistance,
    Ricky

    Good question. This bugs me, too.
    I usually either zoom in, or enter values numerically in the Option Bar.

  • Increase the scroll activation areas

    When re-ordering images within the filmstrip or grid view, one can drag an image onto the edge line of the panel and LR view will scroll through the images. The area that currently allows for this is quite small. For example, in the filmstrip, it would be intuitive if one could grab an image and hold it over the left or right arrows to activate scrolling. I vote to enlarge these scroll activation areas. Thanks.

  • Active Area and Slices in a button

    I would like to know more about Active Area and creating a slice in FW. Why we need it and how we use it in a workflow.
    Also about setting it. Is it set all by itself when we create a button or we have to open Active Area item of a drop down menu in symbol properties window?

    An Active Area is the area of a metallic rectifier that acts as the rectifying junction and conducts current in the forward direction. Just kidding. :-) It's the area of a web page that responds to the viewer's cursor, generated automatically when you create a button and add states to it. You can do that via the properties panel, by double clicking on the button symbol to activate Fireworks symbol editing mode.

    Use a polygon hotspot on top of the button slice to create
    the active area.

  • Button active area does not match Photoshop layer size

    I have created several text-only buttons for a menu using Photoshop. When I reveal the active area in Encore, usually the bounding box for the active area is correct and goes right around the text, but for several of the buttons, the bounding box is way wider than the text. There is a simple graphical highlight that is also part of each layer group, but the bounding box is way larger than where that appears. There is nothing in any layer in the button group that accounts for the extreme width of the bounding box for the button in Encore. Any ideas?
    I have deleted the offending button groups and copied one that didn't have the problem, only to have the same extra-large bounding-box appear. Quite strange.

    All right, I finally got around to looking at this again, and, as expected (by me, even) there was a stray pixel or something in the highlight layer. I did a ⌘-T to get a transform bounding box in PS, and saw that for the highlight layer, it went way off to the left. Weird. So I then highlighted the area where I thought it might be and applied a Hue/Saturation to see if I could bring it out a little, since I couldn't see it. I tried raising and lower the brightness with a transparent background, a white background, and a black background. I couldn't see it on any background, even zoomed in to 800%. I still don't know what it was, but I just drew a marquee around the highlight that I wanted, inverted the selection and deleted, and now the bounding box for the button is as it should be in Encore.
    The extra weird thing is that this seemed to happen on random buttons in my design. In PS, I would create a new button group by duplicating the one above it, then move it straight down below the previous button. I replaced the text and then moved the highlight a bit to the left or the right to be in the correct spot in relation to the new bit of text. And that duplicted layer group which had the correct bounding box with no extraneous bits in the highlight layer would then all of a sudden have the incorrect bounding box and apparently some little bit that PS could see, though I couldn't. Strange.
    So, still a bit mysterious, but thanks for your help and ideas.

    Hi,
    You may want to add a click or onmouseover event listener to the outer container
    Here's an example of how you might do this for a tag with an id of login
    Spry.$$('#login').addEventListener('click',login);
    function login()
        do whatever;
    or you could style the tag via CSS to have more margin or padding etc to give bigger hit area.
    Cheers
    Phil
