Stains on the screen of 24 incher

i have arc-shaped stains (slightly darker) just under the iSight.
First I thougt it was dirt on the outside of the screen, but i cleaned it and they are still there.
Then I started thinking its dirt projected through the vents on the screen. Sometime I burn some inscence and perhaps the smoke kinda sticks to the inside of the screen.
Do you think this is possible and what can i do about it?
Greetz
Apart from that its a great machine

Mine too. It was fine yesterday. I downloaded latest software for my macbook pro laptop '13 in retinal display--only 6 months old. I can restart. Log in. Then it shows pix of a computer that says 'Setting Up Your Mac...' Curser there. Nothing happens.

What is this? How to get rid of it? its not on the glass...

But if they have no proof of water damage e.g no Liquid indicators changed i can still be under warranty?
after the water dried it left some stains or white vapors or some sort of condesation that just doesnt seem to go away
Liquid indicators are rather superfluous, aren't they?  You really are going to have to take money.

I'm not certain but my new MBA 13...when in sleep mode comes back on from a black screen when I simply click on the left mouse button. Also, one time I did a SECURE EMPTY TRASH on files that totalled more than 1GB and it took so long that the fan kept increasing in speed so I pressed on the POWER button and the MBA shut...I was able to boot up with no problem. As a rule, I now only do secured erases for trash bin data totalling 500mb or less...anything above that gets a regular erase (dump).

  • My ipod touch 4g, has a white spot on the screen when you turn it on, what is that and how do I fix it?

When you turn the ipod on, there is a noticeable white spot on the screen/display. Once all the apps come on you can't see it, but when it starts up you can.

From you descriptionis is hard to tell if it a atain on the outside of the screen or just what.  Have you tried cleaning the screeen as said in the users guide:
    Cleaning iPod touch
Clean iPod touch immediately if it comes in contact with any contaminants that may cause stains,
such as ink, dyes, makeup, dirt, food, oils, or lotions. To clean iPod touch, disconnect all cables and
turn off iPod touch (press and hold the On/Off button, then slide the onscreen slider). Then use a
soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings. Don’t use window cleaners,
household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives to
clean iPod touch. Rubbing the screen with an abrasive material may scratch the glass.

  • How can I downsize the itunes window if the bottom is outside the screen?

I have imported the files from my old 17in. Mac Book Pro into a new 15in. one. In the old one the window occupied the whole screen, in the new one it still shows up as a 17 incher and the bottom part of the itunes window actually falls off the screen and cannot be pulled up. This prevents me from accessing the lower right corner to decrease the window size. Are there any other ways to achieve this ?

    Option-click the green button.

I have already changed the screen and the problem is still here. Does anyone knows this problem and a way to solve it. Is it the heating? I don't want to buy another screen to find myself in the same situation. Thanks

    Hi
If the picture on the external display is ok so there is no malfunction with the graphic card or on the motherboard. There must be definitely something with the internal screen or the parts for example FL-inverter. But I tend to the first.
You have suggested that the screen was replaced already because of the same malfunction. I assume this is the same issue and it must be checked by technicians.
I dont think that you can fix this yourself and in my opinion the warranty should cover the replacement because it could be the same problem like first time.
Therefore contact the service guys in your country and explain the situation.
    Good luck

  • Weird bubbles under the screen.

There are weird bubbles inside the glass of the screen,  it looks almost like a fingerprint on the glue holding the screen onto the glass... would this be somethig that I could get my Macbook Pro Display replaced for?

This seems to be an ongoing issue that we're trying to get Apple to resolve, it seems that some production batches have a bad AR coating that gradually comes off (and it'll get worse), have a look at this thread.  We're trying to get Apple to take notice of this issue

  • Mark (stain) on LCD screen + Flickering

I have an Imac Late 2009. I have 2 problems since one month:
_1 My lcd screen has a stain (mark) on the upper right zone getting bigger and bigger.
_2 My screen started to flicker randomly. It is not the whole screen but just the left part.
Both problems appeared shortly after installing Lion.
I don't have apple care. What should I do?
    Thanks.

    1. Can you post a screen shot or camera pic? There have been heat related streaks on some iMacs.
    2. If it is just one part of the screen it sounds like a backlight problem. There are lamps behind the LCD, and either one of them is failing or part of the power inverter that runs them is failing. You need to take it in for an estimate. You can use this http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/service/ to find the closest place, either an Apple Store or an authorized service provider. But be prepared, it will not be cheap if it is a lamp or inverter.

  • Is there a solution to the screen buzz?

    Hello,
My 2010 iMac had its LCD replaced due to stains on the LCD, but when it came back, the screen was "buzzing" at anything but max brightness. I sent it back to the service where they said they could not hear any buzzing, but replaced the LCD a second time. Now it's buzzing at anything but max or min brightness.
The service says they cannot hear any buzzing, and the Turkish Apple distributor just forwards me to the service, so I'm stuck. It's a really irritating, high-pitched buzz. The iMac is in Turkey - Istanbul, by the way, so the Apple services are probably not as "helpful" as those in the U.S.A.
Is there a way to end the buzz without replacing the whole LCD another time? Maybe there's a certain capacitor which is the culprit? I read many stories about this screen buzz on iMacs, there must be a definite solution by now.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

Hello BDAqua, thank you for the reply.
The iMac is connected (physically) to a USB DAC, a WD FireWire external disk, a Wacom tablet, a Razer mouse and a USB card reader. It's also connected via Ethernet to a Linksys ADSL modem.
Yesterday I looked at some similar threads and saw that some users' problem was due to an extension electrical socket/multiplier or a particular wall socket. Hoping this would be the cause, I unplugged the iMac (and all its peripherals) and set it up on the kitchen table by itself, plugging it without an extension directly into the wall, without any peripherals. The buzz was still there. I guess I can't get away with just getting a new extension cord.
Also, the buzz seems to be much lower when the computer is "cool". I noticed today that when I first booted the computer I couldn't detect the noise, but after running for 5-6 minutes I can easily hear it now.
I think the PSU might be the culprit, but the problem did get a bit better when the panel (together with the backlight) was changed a second time. Is there a way I can pinpoint the cause of the noise? (PSU or panel backlight) Also, do you think I can record it so that I have some "proof" for the repair center?
    Thanks again..

  • Cleaning the screen

hi all. what is the very best way to clean the screen.
    thanks

I would use a microfiber cloth and some water. If you have a particularly difficult stain that you need to get off then a little rubbing alcohol is always good for cleaning electronics as it evaporates quickly and is less of a risk to the internal components. However if you are concerned with the safety of your iPad, as it is an expensive piece of equipment, then I would consider getting some kind of polyurethane screen to protect it from damage and also make it easier to clean. I personally have ghost armored my iPad and iPhone and keeps the mess of oily residue from fingers to a minimum.

Here is a link to a photo of dots on screen.
    Please help...thank you!

    Hi Stepanovic
Something is visible on the photo but it will be interesting to see how it looks like in real.
Anyway, I don't believe there is something you can do about it. Try to contact service and show it to the technicians.
I hope they can explain to you what you can do.
In worst case the display much be replaced. :(

  • WHY WHEN ENCODING THE SCREEN DOESN'T GO TO SLEEP MODE

I am using iDVD with my power house iMac i7 great machine by the way, but when it is encoding it won't take the screen to sleep mode, this has always happen with iDVD since i had my old intel core do 20 inch 2 gigahertz, and my last iMac had in burn screen, because of this problem, I am afraid that if this would happen again with my new iMac 27 inch what I do is put the screen brightness down to the minimum. But apple should consider to put a sleep mode button for the LCD panel on iMacs.

well my last iMac had one on the lower left corner and you could see it, it was some blotchy stain. like if it was an icon imprint but it didn't show any letters or it was define it look more like a black stain.

  • Brown stains on my screen

I have an imac 7,1 from mid 2007 (20 inch) but I am concerned about the brown stains Im having at the upper left corner of my screen.
Noticeably, the frame of my imac often is often quite hot at the upper left corner, so that's why I thought that the screen had been fried. But if I look closely, I can see that the brown stains are actually behind the screen.
What I also want to mention that those brown stains are only visible on white backgrounds.
Does somebody know what this problem is I am experiencing? And how do I repair it and prevent it from happening? (I am out of warranty)
I've seen many people complaining that they have grey smudge on/behind their screen, but mine is different as it is brown and it is not cloud-like.
I've made some pictures of the brown stains. For some reason the pictures are upsidedown

  • Green Stain on MBP screen, when showing "lit" black - late '11

Basically I have this stain on my screen when its on, or lit and showing black color. It has been developing slowly, not suddenly.
At first, I thought it had been provoked by the shock caused by the keyboard while the MBP is closed (weird as I am extremely careful with it) but the green stains-leakage DO NOT match the keyboard "dust" stains when they appear, so it is not due to pressure from the keys.
I am clueless as how this has been caused, anyone experiencing anything similar?

    Hi Brent,
I took it to apple service center. They did some checks and found out that the display has gone bad and they replced it with new one.
Did you try connecting other display (may be Apple Display or Dell monitor) using an adapter?  In my case the Apple service center people tried doing it and the display was appearing just fine without any green line. So the fault was in my MBP display.
