Stamp Toolbar in Adobe Reader 8

I have been unsucessful in using the stamp tool in Adobe Reader 8. I can't get the stamp icon, or toolbar, to show up. I believe that it has to do with document rights, but I am unaware of how to change/enable document rights so that I can use a scanned signature as a custom stamp.
The custom stamp is my next question. How do I create a custom stamp from the scan of my handwritten signature?
Thank you in advance,

We want to roll out Adobe Reader v8 to all our users with a customized toolbar and hide the navigation pane to the left. Our Sys Admin looked into the Adobe Wizard tool and says she cannot locate any way we cano do this with that tool. She also contacted Adobe support to find out how this could be done and based on their recommendation, it would likely create a minor security breach as all users would need to have write access to the registry to make it work.
Is there a workaround to this; perhaps rolling out a reg entry with the deployment to make a standard toolbar and view? I would think others would be interested in doing this and you could configure something using the wizard?? Any comments?

  • Is there a script to add to a form in LiveCycle to disable digital stamp editing in Adobe Reader

    I work for a state Agency and we want to use digital stamps as our signatures on our internal documents. I have created the form in LiveCycle and I know that in Adobe Reader by default the stamp will use the person's sign on ID for the stamp and then the person adds their name and other information.
    However, if the person right clicks the stamp, and edits the Identity and puts in another sign on ID number, such as their supervisor's and stamps the document, there is no way to tell that both of those stamps, with different sign on IDs and names, were created by the same person.
    If there is a script I can enter in LiveCycle, that when the form is opened in Adobe Reader, that would lock the Identity field of a stamp created in Adobe Reader from allowing a change to the sign on ID, then that would solve our problem and maybe the problem for other state agencies wanting to follow suit.
    The digital signatures are even worse. I made one in my name, my supervisor's name and my dog's name, attached them all to a document, validated all the signatures and they look absolutely authentic. Why would Adobe make digital signatures like that? If we could just find some evidence within the data showing that all the signatures were applied by the same person or on the same computer, then we could use them. But the stamps at least grab that unique sign on number that we use and applies it to the stamp if the user doesn't alter it.
    I'm on a time crunch as we hoped to launch this after the first of the year but our attorneys are saying, "uh, uh" until something can be done to prevent fraud. We have over 3,000 people in our agency so EchoSign would be out of the question.
    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    Maybe some sort of "get identity" or something. We just need to be able to prove who put the stamp on the document.

  • Why is the save disk disabled on the toolbar of Adobe Reader X?

    Why is the save disk disabled on the toolbar of Adobe Reader X?
    I cannot use the shortcut CTRL+S either. I have to click File, Save As, PDF...too long and drawn out. Why is the quick save disabled?

    How do I make it not disabled?
    Change something in the PDF after opening it.

  • Missing "Add-ons" toolbar in Adobe Reader X

    In Adobe Reader 8.1.1 I implemented buttons in the "Add-ons" toolbar with Javascript.
    This toolbar was activated by right-mouse click in the standard-toolbar and checking on "Zusatzprogramme"
    (i don't know the english term). The internal name of the toolbar is "JSAppToolbar.
    JavaScript:
       app.addToolButton({
       cName:     "DirektDruck",
       cExec:     "pp = event.target.getPrintParams();" +
                  "fv = pp.constants.flagValues;" +
                  "pp.pageHandling = pp.constants.handling.none;" +
                  "pp.interactive = pp.constants.interactionLevel.automatic;" +
                  "pp.flags |= fv.supressCenter;" +
                  "pp.flags &= ~fv.suppressRotate;" +
                  "pp.flags &= ~fv.setPageSize;" +
                  "pp.printerName = "+ "'" + global.vvwpriname +"';" +
                  "event.target.print(pp);",
       cEnable:   "event.rc = (event.target != null);",
       cTooltext: "Direktdruck",
       cLabel:    "Direktdruck",
       nPos:      0});
    In Adobe Reader X the "Add-ons" toolbar seems to be disappeared.
    When viewing an PDF-Dokument with Adobe Reader X by accidently i saw the tools-panel "Werkezeuge" (called tools in the english version). There i found my buttons created by JAVASCRIPT. Viewing another PDF-Dokument the tools-panel doesn't appear.
       Here the panel "Werkzeuge" (Tools) appears:
       Here the panel "Werkzeuge" (Tools) is not displayed:
    Questions:
    1. Where can I define the appearance of the panel "Werkzeuge" (Tools).
    2: I want to place my own buttons (with javascript) in a toolbar, because our users are not amused to click through menus. The solution in older Acrobat Reader Versions was perfect !! How can i achieve this requirement.

    Hi Bernd,
       Thank you for your suggestion... unfortunately no effect! I have tried pressing F8 (I made sure the focus was on the plugin by clicking on it). The bar does not appear. So I think either:
    * F8 only toggles the bar in the separate Reader program, not the plugin;
    or
    * Because I removed the toolbar by deselecting each "sub-bar" separately with the mouse, I'm toggling nothing (bar is invisible).
       Is there any other thing I could try?
    Best regards,

  • Show toolbars on adobe reader x open from internet internet

    I would like to how to show the toolbars in a adobe document sent to me to enable correction. I am using adobe reader x

    Have you tried the "F8" key to restore the toolbar?
    Move your mouse cursor to the lower middle section of the PDF and see if a pop-up appears, there should be a disk you can click to accomplish the Save action.
    I can even right mouse click on your link and save the PDF.

  • Missing toolbar in Adobe reader plugin in Firefox

    Hello,
       I have been foolish enough to remove the toolbar from my Adobe Reader 9 plugin for Firefox 3.5. I did this by right-clicking on the toolbar and unchecking each option in turn. It looks nice, but now I don't know how to make the toolbar visible again, and I can't find a help file devoted to the plugin. Must I reinstall the plugin?
    Thank you very much for your time!

  • How to add the "comment and markup toolbar" in adobe reader 9

    Hi there, I've been trying to add the comment and markup toolbar in acrobat reader 9 but I simply cannot do it. I've tried both the Tools and View menus but I cannot add this particular toolbar. Does anyone know the reason? What can I do to get this toolbar? Even when in a pdf document commenting is not allowed, Should'nt I be able at least to see the toolbar unavailable?
    Many thanks,
    Enrique

    Impossible, and illogical. PDF files are not streamed or RAM-cached so if someone is viewing a file they must have already saved it.

    Hi,
    Do you mean "open in full screen mode"?
    If so there is an example here: https://acrobat.com/#d=JK2I24ZgmsvMr6BtCQNMOg
    The script is in buttons to show the separate functions, but you can combine the ones you want in the docReady event.
    Hope that helps,

    You will not get what you need using stamps, especially if you ever want to use dynamic XFA forms.
    The digital signatures that were signed with a self-signed digital ID won't fully validate unless the user chooses to trust the corresponding digital certificate first. You should only trust a digital certificate if you trust its source. The problem is using self-signed IDs will be difficult to use on the scale you're talking about.
    Digital signatures are the best approach for your needs. They can provide both nonrepudiation of document origin as well as document integrity. You just have to figure out how to implement a solution you can afford.
    You agency can become its own certificate authority and issue certificates to its employees. You'd just have to find a way to implement and manage such a system.

  • Adobe Reader 9.3.2 Quits  - Opening Show Stamps Palette

    Dear All,
    We have updated all our adobe reader 9.3.2 in our domain systems. When opening Tools-> Comment & Markup->Stamps->Show Stamps Palette, the Adobe Reader quits automatically. Some time it works and some time it is not working.
    Is there any solution or workaround available for this problem?
    OS: Windows XP SP3
    Regards,
    Selvakumar

    Hi All,
    We have the stamping template which need to be pushed to the domain users through services since template may get changed.The created stamping template works only to the creator and Adobe Reader quits to the other users. The Show Stamps Palette got showed after editing template on their own user login.
    Any guesses? What could be the problem?
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Reader XI toolbar

    I installed Adobe Reader XI on Win7 x86, followed by update of FFox to v19 (apparently the latest browser release). Adobe Reader works normally, and I can open PDFs for viewing in FFox 19, but it seems FFox 19 -will- -not- display the standard toolbar for Adobe Reader XI. Instead, the only options are a 'download' button, a 'slider' button, 'page count' and 'next/prev page'. In contrast, IE8 -will- display the standard Adobe Reader XI toolbar, near the top of the open window. I don't know whether the problem is with Adobe or with FFox 19, and until there is a fix or some kind of work-around, I don't want to update any of my other machines.

    Okay, that too is nice.
    If, in fact, a built-in PDF.js is 'more secure', then I may decide to use it. There is still a problem with the toolbar, to wit:
    I more or less routinely download 100s of PDFs in one session, the nature of that effort requires that I 'view' then 'download'. With older versions of Acrobat/Reader, and a full toolbar for that app, I can simply hit 'save as' and open a location to save the file. With this new version, PDF.js will only let me choose 'download', which opens a separate GUI -- for each separate download attempt -- where I must then select the target location. That's dumb, that's cumbersome, whether or not Mozilla believe the app is "more secure" (and no, I don't seriously believe I am at any kind of security risk at any time). I found that I can also choose "do this for every..." option in PDF.js, but then I must later open Tools -> Options, find "Portable Document Format" and change it back to "Preview in Firefox" before my next session. That too is dumb, that too is cumbersome.
    Seems to me, the only solution is to try re-installing Reader, get FFox to open that app, and look for a way to restore toolbar access.
    How nice of Mozilla to "enhance" my browser experience.

  • How do I bate stamp with Adobe reader x1

    How do I bate stamp documents with Adobe reader XI?
    Thanks

    You can add text annotations with Reader XI, though, and a script could be used to automate this task, thereby bates stamping the file. However, these annotations can also be easily removed, so it might not be an ideal solution.
    If you really need this functionality you might want to invest in Acrobat, as mentioned.

  • How can I get a passage highlighted in yellow in a word document sent to Adobe Reader?

    How can I get a passage highlighted in yellow in a word document sent to Adobe Reader?

    You can view non-PDF documents, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF, in Adobe Reader for iOS.  However, you are not able to add comments or edit non-PDF documents in Adobe Reader.
    To open a non-PDF document in other iOS app.
    Tap anywhere in a document to display the toolbar in Adobe Reader.
    Tap the Share icon on the right side of the toolbar.
    Select Open In... from the menu.
    Select an appropriate app to open the document.
    Alternatively, you can convert a Word/Excel/PowerPoint/RTF document to PDF using the paid subscription service called Adobe PDF Pack and add comments to a resultant PDF document.
