Stamp Visible not allowing me to make adjustments

I'm using Photoshop CC. After using a process known as frequency separation the stamp visible layer does not allow me to use any tools to make adjustments. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I think I discovered what my problem was caused from. When using the frequency separation technique I used on the top layer an apply image command which looks like a high pass filter has been appleied. When setting blend mode to linear light on screen I get an image which no longer looks like it is being covered by 50% gray. When attempting the stamp visible command on this layer Photoshop interprets the top layer as hidden thus causing my problem with the stamp visible layer. On top of my last frequency separation layer I added a curves adjustment layer and immediately applied the stamp visible shortcut which created a layer where the previous layer is no longer hidden and I'm able to use tools for further adjustments. Short version I was screwing up.

When I attempt to save a new bookmark and want to save it in a folder the window that typically appears just below the address bar will not stay on the screen. It flashes on the screen and as soon as I move my cursor over it, it disappears. It will not allow me to make a selection of any kind. If I randomly hover over the general area the window will flash back in view but disappear again just as quickly. If I then show all my bookmarks, the bookmark was saved and I have to move it to the folder I actually want it in. Just a few extra steps, but still very annoying. Please help!

My device is a Blackberry Z30. Skype and Viber just to work fine. I had to travel abroad and turn off data services while traveling outside of the US but the applications worked just fine with Wi-Fi. Suddenly they stopped working to make calls. I can still send text messages, but when I try to do a voice or video call (in the case of skype), it only says "failed call" and when I try to call using Viber I get an error message that says the I can not use the application until I complete my GMS call which is ridiculous because I'm not using the phone other than trying to place my call through Viber. The interesting thing is that when I go the permission page in my security settings everything indicates that its on but is gray out and I do not have access to change any setting. The same in both applications. The rest of the applications are accessible to change settings. I already uninstalled skype and reinstalled it and still the same problem. I'm ready to back up everything and wipe out the device to original settings.

Using Mac OSX Install Disc 1, I am not able to get any further than the Partition tab. It allows me to select my hard drive selection, but will not allow me to make any other selections. Does anyone know their way around this obstacle? Thanks!

Hello, The Hatter, I read about the 'trick' of backing up, erasing, and restoring too, but I figured it would take longer than defragmenting the disk.
But the defragmentation process has just finished! so I'm gonna try to run Boot Camp again soon!

And P.S. I didn't clone my system onto the external drive, I just inserted the Mac OS X Install CD, rebooted holding down the "C" key, and installed a fresh Snow Leopard system onto the predetermined partition. I will use that in cases of emergency, when my main/internal system becomes unusable.

What kind of adjustments are you making? Where are you looking for the previews? If you're using select list of filters or color adjustments, have you enabled 'Preview' in the dialog box?

If you cannot close the Pen Tool by switching to another tool, as a temporary measure you may try pressing P (for Pen).
To solve it, you may try the list.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

It means exactly what it says. There is something wrong with the photo file, most likely it got corrupted somewhere and now Lightroom can't use it.
Use a backup of the photo, or the original if it is still on the camera card, and see if one of those will work.

Family sharing not allowing me to make purchases without using my husband's payment method

My Husband and I recently took the plunge and joined Family Sharing.
Having pretty hectic lives, we haven't worked it all out as yet - and today, I tried purchasing an App - and all of a sudden I am being required to use my husbands iTunes account and Payment Methods, rather than my own, which I have used for many years.
We did make my husband the organiser, however, I am on the account as an adult, and find this sudden change invasive and unacceptable. Nothing in the literature explaining family sharing says that the adult who is not the organiser, can no longer control their own purchases and purchase methods.
we love the idea of family sharing for photos, movies, apps, books etc .... However I do not want my purchases and subscription communications to go through to my husband. We are both busy, independent adults - and although we have nothing to hide from one another, what we each do should be communicated to and controlled by each of us.
I just called support, and they are telling me that there is nothing they can do about this ?
Anyone got any advice, or experiences to share ? TIA

Your purchases will be charged against the Organizer's charge card on file, but they will reside under the Apple ID that you are purchasing them under (so if later, you were to leave Family Sharing, they would be "owned" by your Apple ID). If you have a gift card on file for your Apple ID, it will take the funds from the gift card first before going to the Organizer's charge card, but the entire set-up of Family Sharing is one that is designed to charge all purchases against the Organizer's card on file.
How is the set-up invasive, exactly? Family Sharing is primarily designed for families, especially ones with small children. The FAQs and ad pages are very clear about the fact that the Organizer pay for all purchases:

Iphoto 6 will not allow me to make a picture on the desktop

The desktop button is greyed out in the lower menu bar (and upper menu bar too).I looked at the system pref - security that was suggested in the post for another person but I do not have that issue. Nothing is checked. I did not have this problem in iphoto 5. Could you please help me?

This might solve your problem: Open IPhoto and click on Share, select Desktop. Then go to System preferences, select the Desktop and Screensaver, then select Choose Folder, then select IPhoto, and a new folder called IPhoto should appear along with the other background folders (e.g. Plants, Pictures Folder). Click the new IPhoto and select the photo you want. In my case, I like to select the feature that allows random changes every 15 minutes. Hope this works.

Only Firefox will not allow me to make selection on a dropdown box

When I go to my CC company's web site to down load data, there is a selection box that asks what software I want to download to, i.e. microsoft money or quicken. When I make a selection, it does not change. Worked with 2 editions before this latest one and works with IE and Chrome, but not Firefox.

App Store does not accept PayPal in all countries. The acceptable methods of payment for your country can be seen on your Account Information screen - and by editing your payment information.

IDVD will not allow me to make dvd.

When I open iDVD I click on the Create a New Project. I type in what to save it as and where and choose the aspect ratio and click Create. Then nothing happens. The screen that is supposed to appear so I can create the dvd menu and such does not appear. It appears if I click on File - New or Open. Or if I click iDVD - Quit iDVD. Then the screen appears with the options to save/don't save/ and cancel. If I click on either of those buttons the iDVD program freezes up and I have to force quite it. I have used iDVD several times before and it started doing this recently. I would appreciate it very much if somebody could help me with this.

Log into another user account on your Mac and see if you can create and save a new project there. If not then a reinstall of iDVD seems indicated. To do so you'll have to first delete the current application and all files with "iDVD" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder, reinstall iDVD from the disk it came on and reapply the latest updaters.
If it does open and save it could be a preference file other than iDVD's that's the culprit. To see if that's the case try the following:
Trouble Shooting Preferences in Leopard/Snow Leopard
1 - Create a folder titled "Preferences A" on the Desktop.
2 - Open the working Preferences folder, HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences, and move the contents to the Preferences A folder on the Desktop.
3 - With the working Preferences folder empty run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed.
NOTE: you may have to drag the contents of the working folder to the trash and empty if moving the contents to the A folder only copies them instead of moving.
4 - If the problem is fixed:
A - open the working Preferences folder (HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences).
B - Open the Preferences A folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace button.

5 - If the problem is NOT fixed, empty the working Preferencess folder and move the contents of the Preferences folder on the desktop back into it.
