Stand-alone flash player

Ok... I went to adobe.com and click to download the latest
version of flash player(9). I published a flash file published
under flash player 8 settings and used the new On2 VP6 to encode
some video. I export a .swf and an HTML file.
When i open the HTML file the movie plays fine. When i try an
just dbl click the.swf to open it on my computer without HTML it
doesn't play, and my stand alone flash player says version 7 at the
top of it. Is there a seprate update for the stand-alone player? If
so, where can i find it?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Maybe you can't, since Flash 9 isn't due for release until
some time in 2007. Flex creates content that uses the Flash 9
player IIRC, but since it's a web app development thing that
probably only means the plugin - though you could check if you're
that desperate.
You could buy Flash 8 for the v8 player, but if its only the
standalone player you want, it's not exactly a value-for-money
option.
There's this whole thing where the standalone player is seen
as a development tool because it can create 'projector'
executables. Why they can't just take out the projector-creating
stuff I don't know.

  • Need a stand alone flash player

currently l have version 7 installed that came with Flash MX problem is on occasion l find its not up to its job..
basically put l want a more up to date version of the stand alone player so l can run files made with newer versions as the stand alone player l currently use is failing pretty badly when running some files only showing half their content.

lm not exactly authoring it came with the suite when l originally started using it, really only installed that part for the stand alone flash player.
but surely l can just install and updated stand alone flash player, all l want to do is view animations a friend of mine wanted me to try out for him. that being said l cant even seem to view them in my browsers which is weird because no one else is having any issues and my browsers flash plugins are up to date.

Can I download the stand-alone Flash Player that does not need a browser? I have ver 11.5 r502 that I d/l last year (11 Feb 2013); would like a newer release.
Can't find much about the standalone viewer, except in the Flash Builder docs, which says a .swf can specify to use it. I can't find a download link.
    Thanks, Doug

You can download the standalone player (Projector) from https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you need to make the .swf file association manually.

  • Where can I download a stand alone flash player?

I'm looking for a stand alone flash player that I can scrub video and audio with. NOT Elmedia player. Thanks!

By stand-alone I mean a program that's not an Adobe product but still plays Flash and swf files. By scrub audio and video files, I mean drag a cursor along a timeline that runs the duration of the video. There is a "stand-alone" player that can be accessed from the Flash program, but it does not allow you to scrub.

  • Looking for stand-alone Flash 9 player

Can anyone tell me where I can download the stand-alone Flash

The only version I can find in the downloads area is the

I want the standalone player so that I can see the console

There is no download of the standalone. The only publicly
    distributed version
    is the browser plugin/player.
Download the authoring tool, Flash CS3 and you will get the
    standalone with it.

  • Audio crackling killing FCP audio but not in stand alone QT player

I have a file I recorded in IShowU.
When I load it into final cut every once in a while I get a large crack and pop from the audio that kills my speakers requiring a reboot. If I play it through headphones it still cracks but it doesn't kill the audio.
If I play that EXACT same file in Quicktime stand alone player it plays perfectly. However, if I export the file from Final Cut and try to play it in Quicktime it has the same pops as it does in Final Cut.
    Any ideas?
    This is FCP 6.0.6

Did you ever solve this problem? I'm having the same issue with some audio in a FCP project. It was fine last night, but when I hopped on my machine this morning to work on it, I played the project and now have a segment of audio where it just gives a large pop/crackle and kills the speakers. If I have my headphones in, it keeps playing and there is the loudest static you've ever heard. The weird part is there is other segments of audio from the same clip in other parts of the video and they're fine. Additionally, when previewing the segment that crackles in the viewer window, there aren't any problems. It only happens in the timeline.

  • Switch from stand-alone Flash Builder to Eclipse plugin

Hi, I understand I can install the Flash Builder as a stand along IDE or add it as a plugin to the existing Eclipse IDE. I have an existing Eclipse IDE where I have all my projects that I currently work on. The company just acquired and installed a stand along Flash Builder for me. I was wondering if I could somehow get it working as a plugin to my existing IDE so that I don't have to keep switching between two IDEs. Preferably I can do this switch on my own without having to go back to the department who did the original install for me which could be a hassle. Thanks.

    Hi John,
Here is a PC solution for you.
You can use our tools Jugglor and JStart
    http://www.jugglor.com
    http://jstart.flashjester.com
This request is asked quite often, so here is an example file
    using a PDF
and PowerPoint file instead of a Web browser.
    http://www.flashjester.com/?section=faq&cPath=14_56_26#316
    and
    http://www.flashjester.com/?section=faq&cPath=14_56_26#268
So here you would specify the URL instead of the filename.
Actually you can also use JWeb
    Here is an example

    Hope all the above helps.

  • Stand alone flash outside of Internet explorer 7

OK, I have several .swf files that I am trying to run and
everytime I attempt to run them flash player wants to reinstall
then reboot and this happens everytime. I tried to change the
associated file but I can't find the apporiate .exe. I'm sorry that
I don't have more but this blunt and to the point.

If you have flash installed, try just opening the .swf files
(might try while offline so it doesnt ask to update) and when
prompted for what program just use Internet Explorer to do it.
Otherwise you'll need the standalone player.

  • Stand Alone Flash Installer Issues

    Hi,
I am trying to roll out Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.278 to client machines using an internal deployment tool. I have downloaded the latest installer from the following adobe page http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
When I install it on a Company image of Windows XP or 7 machine and go to www.ft.com I get the following error.
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable onMediaComplete is not defined.

People within the business have reported that this happens on other websites as well.
I have also installed it onto a vanilla build of Windows XP and it still shows that error.
When it installed on Windows XP, it does not show the size of the install in Add/Remove Programs.
However, if i install it off our network and install it via the website installer http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?promoid=JZEFT (without the Google Chrome Install) it works fine on both Company imaged machine and vanilla build. Also, it shows the size of the install in Add/Remove Programs.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I suspect you're running into problems with the debug build of Flash Player.  You can verify if you have the debug build installed by navigating to this page:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html#main_Find_Flash_Play er_version_type_and_capabilities__Flash_developers_only_
If it reports that debug is installed, you'll want to sign our distribution agreement (http://www.adobe.com/products/players/flash-player-distribution.html), uninstall the version that's been installed(http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe), and then download the appropriate installer from our distribution page(http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html).

In the Outline, click on your disc, then look at the Inspector. What are the Remote Control settings set to? You will also need to click on your Track and also check its Remote Control settings.

  • Flash Player Renders Images Differently in Browser than Stand-alone Player

    Hey, guys!
Not sure if this is a Flash issue or a Flash Player issue, but here we go...
I`m currently working on a Flash project with a great deal of images.
Flash does a great job compressing images, but in some cases it messes up the colors.
I have a big image on the background and it`s set to 80 compression from the Properties panel.
Everything looks fine in the stand-alone Flash Player when exporting from the IDE or even opening from disc, but when I insert the SWF in a HTML page (with SWFObject, dunno if it matters) some werid artifacts show up, and also the colors get shifted to slightly different values (I can tell since I have a background that should match the SWFs background!)...
There is a workaround, though. Setting compression to Lossless... Then everything looks EXACTLY the same both in the stand-alone player and in the browser. Just that you end up with a 900 kilo image instead of 200 and something... :|
And if you have several images that have to be treated "Losslessly", you end up with a pretty big SWF!
My other workaround was to sample the colors in the browser and modify the ones in my CSS for the HTML background.
That works well for the colors, but I still end up with some ugly artifacts, even when compression is set to 100!
And, again, the strange thing is that in the stand-alone player, everything is honkey dorey, the colors and all!
NOTE: the project I`m working on is a Flash 10 file, ActionScript 2, if that would matter...
Thank you for your time and I appreciate any suggestion/explanation!
    Alex

i usually make my movies around 24 fps to keep load off of

  • Flash .flv stand alone player.

    Dear members:
I have recently downloaded some .flv files from the Internet
and tried to view them without any success. I have installed in my
computer the CS3 premium suite that includes Flash CS3 so I was
surprise that the videos wouldn't play. Right clicking on these
files I have the choice to open them using (1) Flash Player.app
which is selected as the default and also (2) Adobe Flash CS3.app,
    (3) Flash MX 2004 and (4) SAFlashPlayer. None of these applications
actually plays the videos. When I select both Flash Player.app and
SAFlashPlayer the applications load and they appear Mac OS X's menu
    bar but nothing happens.
Please forgive me if this is a basic question but I haven't
been able to locate a stand alone version of Flash Player for
download on Adobe's web site. The one I found seems to be the one
that is installed in browsers so that they can play Flash media.
Where can I find and download the stand alone Flash Player ?
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Joseph Chamberlain

    Hello, fredingston.
After I placed my original post I found a plug-in for
QuickTime that allows it to play Flash videos. The name is Perian
and does a very good job. Quite a convenient solution for those
    with Macs.
Thanks to you second post I was able to find and download the
new Adobe Media Player and really liked it. The interface is quite
nice and I think it has more functions that I haven't yet had the
chance to explore (it seems far more than just a simple player).
I noticed that in Adobe Media Player the videos seem to play
with better quality so this will definitely become my default
player for Flash media from now on.
Thank you again for your reply and helpful answers to my
    questions.
    Best regards,
    Joseph

  • Stand Alone Player Issue

I had been working on a file for weeks...then all the sudden
when I make a stand alone player it won't open the player...flash
player opens but no file...I called adobe and they said it was
something corrupt in my user profile...(I am on a MAC, OSx) so I
created a new user and opened the file there and it opened, made a
stand alone and played..then one day later...same thing in the new
user....if I make yet another user it works....but I assume tthis
is short lived. WHAT is there in the user profile, and this is a
brand new clean user...goes wrong and how can I fix the problem
without creating a new identity every other day. I threw away the
flash preferences...no dice...any insight would be greatly

That is not allowed. Make a projector exe instead (which is

You don't need a licence for projector exe .. but
    redistributing the
standalone player (which even Adboe doesn't uisually make
    available except
with purchase of Flash itself) would take some negotiation
    with Adobe. Its
really not worth the effort usually.

  • Flash Player issues when I run project

I am running Flex on Windows and get the error:
Flex Builder cannot locate the required version of Flash
Player. You might need to install Flash Player 9 or reinstall Flex
    Builder.
    I have tried the following:
Downloading the 12/03/2007 update Windows Flash Player 9
ActiveX control content debugger (for IE and Netscape)
Uninstalling Flash Player 9 and reinstalling from the Adobe
    website
    Uninstalling Flex and reinstalling
    Any help is appreciated!
    Carly

I was about to post a similar question about Stand Alone
Flash Player. Over the last year and half of using Flex Builder 2 I
have run into many problems that could have been fixed by telling
Flex Builder where to look for its debug players (plug-in and
standalone) rather than relying on some default value that seems to
be reset when you install Flash CS3 (and at other times too).
I have looked and looked for compiler params that would tell
FB what debug binary to use but to no avail. Is there a way to set
this in FB2? If not can you at least do so in FB3?
    Thanks,
    Patrick.

  • Newer flash player not opening SWFs

    Hi Everyone
I'm a teacher and am having problem opening student SWF files. I believe many of my students are still in Flash CS6, or perhaps CS5.
I have Flash CC installed. It looks like my Flash Player is 11.7.700.169. But I also have Flash Player 11.4.402.265, which from what I understand is the Flash CS6 player??
When I try to open their SWF to view, it just closes immediately. I can open the .FLA fine., although when this has happened it looks like students have used TLF text, and I get a message from Flash CC saying this is unsupported. But if they have done anything with fonts I don't have, I can't see their work as intended. This is an intro class, so they really haven't learned about embedding yet.
My hunch is that the TLF text won't run in the newer Flash player. But I'm wondering why the SWF doesn't then come up okay with version 11.4xxx.  Any ideas on what I can do ?

when you right click and click on the swf, you're using your stand-alone flash player.  most people don't keep those players updated.
if you wanted to updated your standalone player, you can go here:  http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
and install the projector player for mac.
in any case, you cannot see any student's original design (that contains unembedded fonts) unless you open their fla in flash pro>and confirm there are no missing fonts detected by flash.
if missing fonts are detected open their fla in flash pro>view the list of missing fonts displayed by flash pro>download and install those fonts>restart flash and then open their fla and confirm there are no missing fonts.
you can now open their swf in any flash player you have installed (as long as you see no message about needing an updated flash player).
