Stand Alone iSight and Dust Specs

I now have 2 dust specs that are showing u as wee green dots in the mid of my screen. The dust is not on the outside of the lens...but on the inside. Is there any way to successfully clean this issue up?

Welcome to Apple Discussions,Brazenkaine
The fact that your dots are "wee green" makes me thing that your trouble is more likely pixel hardware faults with your camera's image rather than dust, but you will likely need professional help in either case.
There are NO user-serviceable parts in iSight. If your problem is inside your iSight, see your Apple Service Provider (AASP) for professional help getting the problem resolved.
If you have not already tried this test, drag the window for the app you are using with your iSight around the screen. If the green dots stay in the same relative location inside the iSight preview window when you change the window's position on your display, you know that the problem is with iSight.
However, if the dots stay still in the same place on your display when you move the application's iSight preview window, the problem is in your monitor or video card.
If your test shows that the problem is iSight, you can try Apple's suggestions from How to Troubleshoot iSight. I doubt that they will help, but it costs nothing to try them before you contact your AASP for professional help if you want to try to have the fault repaired.
If you have no local access to an AASP, see Apple's iSight Service: Frequently Asked Questions for service alternatives.

  • Stand alone isight still available?

Hello - I recently purchased a mac pro and was considering picking up a stand alone isight camera. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it listed on the online store - did apple stop making the stand alone model?

never mind I found a post indicating it's disappeared.

  • Is ichat software required for stand alone isight camera to work?

Trying to use an isight  stand alone camera with a new mac mini. It will sometimes take a random picture in Phto Booth but I really can't get it to do anything in Photo Booth , Face time, or imovie. In support it says that you have to have iChat on your computer to allow the camera to work in other applications. I don't have iChat and I can't find it as a download.
I would appreciate any information on this.

explasticman wrote:... I ...try the iSight on my wife's Macbook Pro... It works...
Good work on the troubleshooting.  You have now ruled out possible connection problems except for possible problems with your new mini's FW800 port.  If you have or can borrow another FW device, you can try connecting it to your mini with the same cables and adapter to verify that mini's port is working.
explasticman wrote: ... It now seems like it must have to do with 10.8.5 on my new computer....
If you still believe this, use your Mac's  > Software Update... menu command and apply any needed updates.
I suggest you restart Mac and use Disk Utility to repair permissions before downloading and installing the (3 October) OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.5 (Combo) update.  Repair permissions AGAIN immediately following the restart that completes the Combo Update.
If your problem continues, use OS X Recovery to reinstall Mac OS X Mountain Lion.  Then use  > Software Update… to verify that all your software is up to date.  Install any needed updates and repair permissions one more time regardless of whether additional updates are required after reinstalling OS X.
explasticman wrote: ... Is messages really just like iChat?...
No, not "just like" iChat.  However, Messages is the replacement for iChat.
For summary info about Messages, see this linked page.  For details, you can read all about Messages and compare it to your iChat experience using your mini's Messages > Help > Messages Help  menu command.

  • Can I install Photoshop stand alone upgrade and Creative Suite on same machine?

I'd like to be able to install my Photoshop CS6 Upgrade on the same machine as I am running Creative Suite 5.5.
    I'm using Windows 7 64bit.
I have one running on a laptop and one on my main machine.. is this possible without conflicts?

    Hi Ned
    Thanks for the reply.
I have CS5 Photoshop stand alone but it's not installed on same machine as Creative Suite 5.5.. its on a laptop. I use Photoshop mainly but don't want to stuff up my Creative Suite by installing CS6 as well..

  • Lightroom 6 stand-alone version and creative cloud desktop app

Will the stand-alone Lightroom 6 version install also "creative cloud desktop" application (like the cc trial) or will it be really a stand-alone software, without any other software (which will continuously and silently connect to the internet) "bundled" ?
    Thanks

Thanks, that's unfortunate.. I'm planning to update and I really hoped that buying the stand-alone version would have resulted in having a different installer but to me it's a selling factor not having additional software that does its things online without asking (which, if blocked with a firewall, prevents the trial of LR to work at all).
I'll try to understand if the cc will also be uninstallable afterwards keeping lr6 working correctly (if you'll try to uninstall it in a month, please let me know).

  • Stand-alone media and domain joining

    Hello,
please help to identify a problem, I have used stand-alone media to migrate one computer from XP to 7, all good except joining to domain, computers saved its name but instead of domain computer is in workgroup named as domain netbios name, I have checked
smsts log, I did not find any "djoin" records, what can be a reason? This TS works good without stand-alone media, also in the TS a I have checked connection to domain with specified account for joining to domain.
    SCCM 2012 R2.

I have found a lot of similar entries:
05/07/2014 17:47:12:916 NetpValidateName: name 'domain.com' is valid for type 3

  • Can Pages 09 be purchased stand alone? And Online

I dont have Mac stores near me and can't afford to wait for it to arive where I live if I buy the physical version online.
Can it be purchased as a software for downloading?
And can Pages be purchased stand alone? I dont need numbers, etc
    thanks

You can indeed purchase a download-only version of iWork -- just download the free trial, and in the trial version there is a procedure for purchasing a license online.
Apple does not sell Pages separately from the other iWork suite applications. (But at $79, it's still pretty cheap for an extremely functional word processor/page layout app.)

  • Stand alone class and the class path

    Hi,
I have a simple Java project in Eclipse environment. The project has it's class path,
that contains a jar file that I need to use.
The project runs perfect in the Eclipse.
Now, I need to take the main class out of my project, to function alone in another environment.
My problem is that out of the environment, I don't know how the class should know that classpath.
I moved that jar to the same folder that the class located in, but I don't know how to tell it that the jar is there.
My goal is to run my standalone class from another java class.
I'm afraid that examples in command environment wouldn't help me.
Thanks a lot for any help !

The project runs perfect in the Eclipse.
Now, I need to take the main class out of my project, to function alone in another environment.Maybe (just maybe!) defining what exactly that "other environment" is could help us help you.
My problem is that out of the environment, I don't know how the class should know that classpath.Well, obviously that depends on what that other environment is.
You must have some way to influence that other environments classpath, or you couldn't even get it to call/use your class.
I moved that jar to the same folder that the class located in, but I don't know how to tell it that the jar is there. Now you're just guessing.
My goal is to run my standalone class from another java class. That's simple enough, you probably do it all the time.
I'm afraid that examples in command environment wouldn't help me.And why exactly is that?
Do you realize that you tell us far too little about your problem for us to be able to actually help you?

  • Stand alone Isight mic isnt picking up sound.

I recently was given an isight cam to use with my mini and I get video transmission but i dont get sound. I put my system sound setting preference to use the isight mic for sound input and also did the same with the ichat preferences and it doesnt seem to be working. Any thoughts on what it can be?

I had the microphone option checked in ichat and in system preferences i did raise the volume of the input. It is still unresponsive. I found an old webcam i had laying around it doesnt transmit video since i believe i need a driver for it but it does work as a mic. So I have to use 2 webcams at the moment, my isight to send video and an old usb webcam to send sound. I also grabbed an old desktop microphone and plugged it into the back of the mini thinking I could use that instead of the webcam and it doesnt seem to pick up sound either. I tested the mic on a pc and it worked and yes I did make sure to change the input source to line in on both ichat preferences and system preferences. Any suggestions?

  • Stand Alone OC4J  and Java's Comm API

I am using the Java Comm API alongwith a servlet. The code simply gets the required ports and displays it in a JSP page. The program is developed using Jdeveloper 9. It works fine with embedded OC4J but a blank jsp page is displayed when deployed in in standalone OC4j instance on the same machine. I have correctly copied the required wincom32.dll, java.comm.properites and comm.jar to the jre/bin, jre/lib and jre/lib/ext respectively. What could be wrong.
    Thanks
    MMN

Try setting the OS PATH env variable to the directory where the .DLL is located before you launch the container. Or else put the .DLL in a directory which is in the existing path.

  • P6 stand alone and network installed to same pc

    Dear Member,
i have a question, is it possible if i'm installing P6 stand alone version and P6 network version to the one desktop pc, and running together?
please advice me, because our client requested to me, he want to install P6 stand alone and network version together to his pc, i told him, it's impossible. please make sure for this case
    thank you

    Hi,
Yes, you can install P6 stand alone version and P6 network version to the one desktop pc.
But, at a time you can login on a single database only, you just need to select the database at the time of Login i.e. when you are login to standalone, select the standalone database and when you want to login to network version, you need to select the network database.

  • Running the G server and labview web server as a stand-alone serve

    Hello,
Now I am running the G web server from the Internet toolkit cooprating with the Labview default web server because I need the server to handle both GCI reguests and the requests of the remote panel.
Now I have a question. Is there any way to make these two servers as stand-alone applications and also make it to be window service ( I think if I could make them the stand-alone applications, making them to be window services would be easy)? I just want the web server to be a stand-alone application without installing the Labview (just installing the run-time engine) on one machine. Could this be done? Thank you very much.
    Best Regards,
    Benjamin Chu

    Hello Benjamin,
for running a LabVIEW application as Windows Service is here a tutorial.
I formerly tried to get the G web Server into an application and I know there were some dynamic VIs loaded by the HTTP Server Control.vi and some SubVIs. I never tried this seriously enough to get it running.
You need at least to put the VIs vi.lib\addons\internet\http\http0.llb\HTTP Server, vi.lib\addons\internet\http\http0.llb\srvr_%02d.vi (%02d is part of a format into string with a for loop index), HTTP Load Configuration Files.vi as dynamic VIs into your build definition.
Running the G Web Server and looking at the VI hierarchy is not for help because for some reasons the G Web Server VIs will not show up in the VI hierarchy window.

  • Stop a stand-alone and web app from starting in an App Server

I want to programmatically shut down an application from starting, e.g., mid-way in its start, if a certain condition is raised. I do not want code as System.exit(int) as this API will terminate the entire JVM and more than 1 application running in the JVM will be shut down. My goal is to stop the start process of only one application that is running in the same shared JVM. The JVM is running more than 1 application.
Obviously, throwing a Runtime exception (throw new RuntimeException())does not stop the application - application still gets started.
I want a solution that will work for both stand-alone application and a web application. However, if I have to use two different approaches (one approach for stand-alone, another for web), I will be fine with that approach.
I am using WebSphere 6.1 as application server.
Please suggest what are my options to stop the application from start for both stand-alone and web application.

There is of course no general solution to that.
    Consider the following.
    1. Initial thread starts 10 threads, and then it exits.
    2. One thread determines that exit should occur.
    3. How do other threads get terminated?
...and a web application.Conceptually that is a bit suspect. If you don't want it to run then the simple solution is don't install it. In general you don't want a web app to "exit" if a known error condition occurs. For example it shouldn't exit if the database connection fails but instead the behavior should change until the database connection is restored.
