  • Standalone drivers for USB 6008

    Hello, all.
So here's my problem:  I am running an experiment that must be on
a Windows 98 machine for various reasons, and I want to take some
    additional data using a USB 6008 device. I know that NI-DAQmxBase isn't
supported on Win98, but I don't think I should need the full system, as
I've already written a portable C executable on an XP machine, and can
modify it over there if need be.  However, the USB 6008 can't
locate the necessary drivers to install on a machine if DAQmxBase isn't
installed first.  My question is whether there is some way to
install the USB 6008 without having the full DAQmxBase installation
present, i.e. if there is some sort of standalone driver somewhere that
I could download, or perhaps a way to do things using VISA or some
other lower level interface (though I would hate to have to resort to
that.)  Any help will be much appreciated!

    HEPatUTstudent,
Unfortunately there is no way to use the 6008 with Windows 98.
Even on a supported OS you still either have to use DAQmxBase or the
full DAQmx driver -- there isn't a stand alone driver for specific
    devices.
The 6008/9 were recently added to the full version of the NI-DAQmx
driver in version 7.5, so if you can move to at least Windows 2000 you
would be able to program the 6008 in the same API as every other NI DAQ
device that is supported by DAQmx.
    Hope this helps!

  • Can't uninstall or re-install Vista drivers (Boot Camp 2.1)

I'm having problems with my MacBook Pro's bluetooth support in Vista under Boot Camp so I thought I'd try to re-install the Boot Camp 2.1 drivers. However, whenever I run the setup program, it just gives me a useless error message saying it encountered an error before it could start the install, and to please try again later. Rebooting doesn't help.
So I thought maybe I could uninstall all the Apple stuff then start again. But when I try to uninstall "Boot Camp services" from the programs and features control panel, it starts to uninstall, but then gives up silently as it nears the completion of the "gathering information" dialog.
So I can't uninstall or re-install this thing. Anyone know how I can fix this?
    Thanks!

It may be too late, but have you tried going into the drivers using Vista's control panel and either removing the drivers or reverting to precious drivers?

  • Bug in latest drivers

Some time ago (somewhere in 2008 I thought it was a good idea to update my drivers to the latest update (was using the drivers from the cd before that, because I don't get all the software otherwise)
After I done the update, it completelly screwed something up and it basically means, that if I turn down my volume to 0% I still hear audio. After some searching I gave up and it seemed to be an issue with the drivers.
I uninstalled the drivers, and reverted back to the drivers from my CD. Problem gone.
I recently bought Quake 4 and it crashes to my desktop. I get a nice grey screen and seconds later, my desktop again. I found out that it was due to OpenAL. I installed OpenAL but nothing. I then did the newest driver update and got Quake 4 running. Unfortunatelly for me, that same issue returned. This time I searched and finally found what exactly is happening, and how I can work around the issue.
I've recorded everything to a movie so you can see what happens and what the cause is. For the record, everything happens when I turn the knob from the mixer. The movie is in dutch but I hope that won't form a problem.
If a staff member can notify someone from the development team and point them to this topic, that would be great!
The link to the movie: (hi res!!!) click me

I've found a new related bug.
If you get the question to normalise your settings because otherwise the db values are inaccurate, it also changes the settings. The workaround is the same, open the windows mixer, go to the advanced volume settings, reset them, and drag them to the desired volume.
So I have to prevent using the mixer so it will tell me that I need to normalise the settings. (I don't want to get that question each time)

  • Updating drivers for the Soundblaster Audigy 2

Okay here's my problem, my original driver from the CD was dated from August 2004 so I decided to use the autoupdate. It installed the new driver but then my eax, and pretty much everything else wouldn't work. I followed all the uninstall directions given on the site and then only installed the newer driver, it does work fine but it seems that when you?download the standalone drivers it'sdoesn't come?with anything except for a small basic creative?audio control panel and no graghic equalizer and trying to figure out what else I need to download is confusing as hell. After that I uninstalled the new driver, cleaned?everything out,?I?went to put the CD in to go back to the original driver and it tells me there's no soundblaster card detected even though the autoupdate detected it just fine. So now I'm back to using the updated driver. As I said before it does work fine and I really don't use EAX or any other effects for games or movies but I would still like a graphic equalizer. Does anyone know if I can download a standalone equalizer for this driver?

  • Latest drivers cause Audigy SB0090 h

Since a recent (Nov. 9) Microsoft Update suggested Sound Blaster driver update for Windows XP SP2, ostensibly compatible and correct for my hardware, my Audigy MP3+ card hisses loudly and constantly (no popping or crackling). Even when sounds are played through the hiss, the hiss is 80% of the sound. Obviously, something is wrong. I have tried plugging my speakers into various Sound Blaster card audio outputs to no avail. I am unable to successfully, completely uninstall the latest drivers and revert to the original Windows XP drivers supplied on the CD-ROM (circa 2002) despite separately following FAQ guides, uninstalling all drivers in Safe Mode, and reinstalling from my original setup disk. Current drivers from either www.download.com (search "Audigy"), Creative.com's SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe install successfully... but hiss equally. This most recent driver set, self-identified from Creative's homepage, triggers a blue screen of death when?accessing Control Panel/AudioHQ/EAX Control (remarks file CTOSS2K.SYS). I have never used the analog cable, only digital, and see no logic in reverting to an analog solution when digital drivers were working fine prior to Microsoft's troublesome update.Status:

  • Live drive ir drivers

first off, this site takes forever to load...secondly, where do i find drivers for this?! i have the original installation cd, but it is for win98. i have winxp. i need the drivers, and other stuff like audiohq. when i go to the driver support page, all i get is "upgrade drivers", where i must have the orignal installed. i need standalone drivers and the supporting programs for xp!!!! >:| >:|

    Voodew42,
You need the Li'veDrvUniPack for Windows XP. Go to the download page and in the search section type in Li'veDrvUni and it will take you directly to it. I would suggest installing from the CD first and when Windows warns you that it was not for XP continue. Run the install and then reboot. Once it reboots run the Li'veDrvUniPack. This will replace the drivers and applications for the Li've! You may also want to download the updates to Playcenter and Creative Recorder.
The Li'veDrvUniPack is a stand alone update, but in order to have all the programs from the original install you need to use the CD.

  • Digi 03 won't lock into Logic's chosen sample rate.

I have an issue with my Digidesign Digi 03 rack and logic 9. This has only started since updating to snow leopard.
Every so often when I open a project that is in 44.1khz the digi 03 does not automatically switch to the sample rate of the project, it stays at 48khz. This is not so annoying in itself apart from the fact that there does not seem to be a way of changing the sample rate in the Digi 03 core audio app while logic is open and if you then change it after closing logic it reverts to 48khz when you re-open the project.
When you try and open the digidesign hardware setup in Logic, nothing happens.
I usually record at 48 and don't mind converting the files but when it's somebody elses project it is a bit of a **** and make me look a bit of an incompetent too.
Any ideas? I'm probably missing something really simple here but whatever it is I can't see it.

Hey Casio, the Core Audio standalone drivers have not been "qualified" for SL. I'm not sure if there's a workaround. Check the Digi site.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59501-60000/sp59620.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, turn off the notebook by holding down the Shift key as you click Shut down to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.
When the notebook has shutdown, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

  • X-fi xtrememusic freez

I?m wondering if someone could help with this freezing problem of mine. My computer freezes plain randomly when I start tweaking with the Eqs or calibrating my speakers (in x-fi?s own program). Actually my computer doesn?t completely freeze, it just stops working properly, like it takes about 0secs to open something up and then it freezes again for another 0sec. Then I have to shut it down, and when I get to windows, I need to change the mode to "entertainment" to get sounds again. I haven?t noticed the freezing happening when im not tweaking the drivers and other settings in volume panel :S I just downloaded the new drivers and haven?t dared to test if my computer goes nuts when i calibrate my speakers.
    My rack is

WIn xp home edition (sp2, and otherwise up-to-date)
    creative x-fi xtrememusic
    ps.
    sorry about the typos there

Yeah it still froze even with the new drivers. Actually I think it froze more easily than with the standalone drivers :S I noticed though that when i wasn?t playing music or doing anything else when i set up speakers and stuff like that, I was able to do the calibration without problems.

  • Pavilion dv7-2180 eg SRS Sound problems

I have a dv7-2180eg and am having problems with my SRS premium sound since I upgraded to Windows 7.  I flashed my bios and went back to the previous version.  I also uninstalled my audio drivers and reverted to an older version.  Nothing has worked.  The drivers say they are high definition drivers, but all it recognizes is the two speakers rather than all three, which results in incredibly tinny sound because the third speaker is where the bass comes from.  Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hello
first it is not good to use two different graphics vendors in one pc, because the driver uninstallers doesn't remove all values/files, so you will have a mixed up system.
Or do you use a backup image with a clean windows (no vendor graphic drivers) and revert back to it before switching the graphic card ?
Do you have updated DirectX 9 ?

  • Querying CHAR columns with character length semantics unreliable

    Hi again,
It appears that there is a bug in the JDBC drivers whereby it is highly unlikely that the values of CHAR columns that use character length semantics can be accurately queried using ResultSet.getString(). Instead, the drivers return the value padded with space (0x#20) characters out to a number of bytes equal to the number of characters multiplied by 4. The number of bytes varies depending on the number and size of any non-ascii characters stored in the column.
    For instance, if I have a CHAR(1) column, a value of 'a' will return 'a ' (4 characters/bytes are returned), a value of '\u00E0' will return '\u00E0 ' (3 characters / 4 bytes), and a value of '\uE000' will return '\uE000 ' (2 characters / 4 bytes).
I'm currently using version 9.2.0.3 of the standalone drivers (ojdbc.jar) with JDK 1.4.1_04 on Redhat Linux 9, connecting to Oracle 9.2.0.2.0 running on Solaris.
The following sample code can be used to demonstrate the problem (where the DDL at the top of the file must be executed first):
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.util.*;
This sample generates another bug in the Oracle JDBC drivers where it is not
possible to query the values of CHAR columns that use character length semantics
and are NOT full of non-ascii characters. The inclusion of the VARCHAR2 column
    is just a control.

  • ESATA suddenly quits

I have an addonics controller card ADS3GX4R5-E that is connected to a Mac G4 ADP 400Mhz upgraded to 1 G with 1.2 Gigs ram running OSX version 10.4.9. While just operating the computer, the system will tell me the “Device was removed improperly”. In other words it suddenly quits or removes drive. I have it attached to a Port Multiplier Four SATA ICEBOX-PM4 using a Maxtor SATA II 500 Gig drive. How do I keep all things recognized by my system? Is there a control panel that is to loaded or available? The CD supplied does not specify. This seems to happen when importing to iPhoto its the only constant I can find. I repaired all disc and permissions.
Also my second internal only loads sometimes when the computer is restarted. How do I make it stick so each time I get all my drives?

    Hi-
I took a look at the Addonics site, and, it seems to me, that the card that you have is more specifically designed for RAID configurations. The ADS3GX4R5-MLM card seemsto be more for using SATA drives individually, or non RAID.
    http://www.addonics.com/products/multilane/ads3gx4r5-mlm.asp
Also, this note concerning the drivers for your card:
"SiI3124 0.42.4 drivers designed only for use with Port Multiplier. For use with individual SATA drives in a direct connect configuration, the SiI3124 1.1.0 drivers are required. However, the SiI3124 1.1.0 drivers have no uninstall program available, so you will find it difficult to uninstall the SiI3124 1.1.0 drivers to revert back to the SiI3124 0.42.4 drivers."
I'm not sure of your system configuration- what is your startup drive? Is it also SATA? I assume the Maxtor in the Icebox is the second drive?
One additional note, that I noticed on the page for the card that you have, is
"To install OS onto a single hard drive (not in a RAID set), it must be connected to the 1st port (the lowest port on the PCI bracket)".
Is your setup configured as a RAID, or, as single drives?
As far as control panels go, in OS X, there are none. If not in the Addonics driver /software set, then, Start up disk in the System preferences is all the control that you have.
It's a shame that Addonics doesn't provide support to Mac OS users.....
