Standalone GWCheck purges by Modified date -- leaves mail

Hello all.
System in question is still GW 8.0.2/3.
I have a problem where running the standalone GWCheck Expire/Reduce job leaves mail older than the specified date in mailboxes, particularly in the Sent Items. After a call with Novell support, they say that it's working as designed, according to TID:

The TID says the standalone GWCheck purges via the modified date, and if someone moves an item into a folder or any number of operations against the item, it sets the modified date to that moment. We're wanting to do a 365-day purge date, so that'd keep the mail around for another year. Not what we want.
Does anyone know a switch to change this behavior, to go off Created Date?
Does the scheduled tasks in the POA itself operate differently? That'd work against the entire PO (minus exclusions) but is it an option?
After years in Groupwise, I was astonished to learn the standalone tool goes by modified date, and that many common operations change the modified date on an item.

Hi!
You can do a test by scheduling a task of clearing and deleting emails from a certain date, in the post office.
In the post office:
GroupWise Utilities -> Client Options -> Enviroment -> Cleanup
Mail and Phone: Auto-Delete After: (n) days that you want
Appointment, Task and Note: (n) days that you want
Empty Trash: (n) days that you want
In the next maintenance task, all the emails and tasks on the post office should be removed from the date that you want.

Occasional invalid modified date on a file - looks like a bug

In the Bridge script I'm working on, I need to compare the last modified dates of files. I've found that when I iterate through the app.document.visibleThumbnails array that in nearly every directory I test on, there are one or two files that return an "undefined" value for app.document.visibleThumbnail[i].spec.modified. It is not the same two files each run, but it's always at least one that has a missing value. It's a pretty simple test app to illustrate the problem:

Unless this value is not intended to be reliable, this appears to be a bug which is why I am reporting it. I have worked around the problem for now by getting the fsName from the same thumbnail, creating a new File object with that fsName and getting the modified date from that temp object.
I've verified that purging and rebuilding the cache does not make the problem go away. I see this problem on many different directories.
Is this the right place to report this type of bug or is there a different procedure I should follow?

The Windows Live Mail *.eml files time stamp is getting changed to the current date when the file is selected in the Windows Explorer! I save backup copies of important E-mails to folders on the Hard Drive and then synchronize them with the same folders on other LAN Hard Drives for backup archives. When these E-mail files are selected or opened from the Windows Explorer in the Windows 7 OPS the Modified Date Time Stamp is changed to the current date automatically! This action creates a real problem when doing later synchronizations of all of the folders! The date will not be the original date of the E-mail and the original file will be over copied with the file with the newest date stamp. I stopped Indexing on the *.eml files and that stopped the time stamp change when overcopy synchronization, but if the file is selected during a viewing in Windows Explorer then the Time Stamp is updated to the current date again! The Date and Timestamp changing issue in Windows 7 has a two part fix!
1. Disable the Indexing of the *.eml file type in the Indexing Options located by Clicking on "Control Panel" - "Indexing Options" - Advanced Button - File Types Tab - scroll down to the .eml file type and uncheck the Box then click OK to finish, so
that the Email type of files won't be Indexed.
2. Delete the Registry Entry listed below, be sure to Export and Save the original Key so it could be Restored if something goes wrong! \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PropertySystem\PropertyHandlers
and Delete the .eml entry

Version control: table modified date is changing but nothing seems to be modifying it! Why?

I have a series of databases. They're mirrors of each other in structure, only the data inside them changes. There's a database for each customer. Each night I run a procedure that checks if anything has changed in the database since the previous run and
e-mails me if it has. The reason for this was that an employee in the past was changing (and breaking) things so I wanted to track what was going on. Now, one of these databases is idle at the moment, in abeyance if you like, yet 1 table's modified date changes
once a week! Table definition stays stable at the level I am recording it (code below) so why is the modified date changing? Could it be an index-defrag? But if so, why this table and none of the others or indeed its mirror databases? CHECKDB run every day
and that's OK. Full backup done weekly. But again, why this 1 table? Nothing is even using the table at the moment! Code to get object definitions below.

Incidentally, I remember the second reason I set all this up. I had a view that used to revert back to an old definition under SQL 2008. It was weird. More than 1 of us had gone in and "fixed it" and then it unfixed itself. It turned out the view had been
renamed in the past. Each night I have a procedure that checks all views in the instance running sp_refreshview. Any errors are caught and e-mailed to me. It seems that the old definition was still stored somehow under the old name but with the same object
id (there had been some corruption in the database when a drive in the RAID5 array became suspect - picked up with CHECKDB, Windows and indeed the HP software didn't pick anything up). Although the database had been "fixed" this view switched back to
the old definition each time sp_refreshview was run. Fix was to drop and re-create using new definition. Learnt the lesson though and now keep track of all main definitions in each instance.

Excel sheet has modified data cells error - do you want to submit

Using smartview in office 2007 I often get trapped in a loop where each time I modify any data on the excel sheet I get the error "Excel sheet has modified data cells. Do you want to submit the modified data cells before proceeding?". Regardless if I choose yes or no I basically have to start a new instance of excel to clear the error.
For the most part I never use member select rather just type the members I want freehand in the excel workbook. Seems like the error arises after I insert or delete a row or column and then try to update the page.
If I "reset" the connection it seems to help but not all the time.

This may be the same issue as you are experiencing "When Trying to Copy Cells Between Excel Tabs Get Message "Excel Sheet has modified data cells do you want to submit the modified data?" [ID 1301092.1]"

How can you find the Last Modified Date of a particular table

I want to show to the LAST MODIFIED date of a particular table to the user before refreshing the table with new data. Experts please suggest me the way using JDBC-SQL connection.

There is no generic SQL way for this. It depends completely on the features your DBMS offers. With Oracle you'd need to create column which gets updated in a trigger. I believe MS SQL Server offers a special data type for this, which is updated automatically. I don't know about others.

Getting Modified date of a particular document in KM Content

Can I fetch the modified date of a particular document from KM Content?
I know i can find the date in settings -> properties. But I want to fetch the value of modified date/time.
I want to save that modified date/time in particular attribute in a program developed in NWDS so that I can proceed with my code depending on modified date/time.
Please guide me.

How can I modify data from a Transparent Table (like TCURR), and important thing is I want do all that with no ABAP code here. It is like that we always do that in a Oracle database use TOAD or PLSQL third party tools, with no script code here.
I had fond that there is a way can do that:
1, type 'se11',and Display Database table 'TCURR', click Contents, then click Execute to display all data
2, type '/h' and let debugging on
3, select one of this data then click 'Display',enter in debugging system.
4, then make a breakpoint in the code. But... display a dialog let I type a 'ABAP Cmnds', I want to know what can be type in for that?
and, My system is ECC6.

Your approach (with Vijay's suggestion) MAY work. However, depending on how tight security is at the company that you are working at you may or may not be able to acutaly change the value of the SHOW field to EDIT. This will be especially true if you are working in a Production environment. Vijay's other comment is true as well. This is not a recommended approach to change data (especially data with a financial impact like TCURR) in a production environment. The auditors will not be impressed.
Explore the option of a maintenace view or look at tcode TBDM to upload a file which includes daily rates from providers like Reuters or try tcode s_bce_68000174 which is a maintenance view on TCURR.

How can I make sure the the modify date of files are not updated to the date the file was uploaded or downloaded.
There are multiple people working on my sites and I am the only one that uses Dreamweaver. The problem this presents is when one of my colleagues works on an image and I want to update my local computer it changes the date of the image to the date that I downloaded it and now when I compare what I have on my local computer to what is on the server they are different modify dates.

Dont think you can find out the date of purchase!
Where should know this without a payment bills or sales checks.

How Can I go Back to Leopad and sill keep all my data, e-mails etc.

I installed SL on Sept 3,2009. I'm a new Mac user so all I had was TM Backups which I still have. After SL install I have had lots of problems and a couple of days ago My system already failed and would not start. Called Apple, they said I had to re-install my OS. If that was the case I said I wanted to go back to Leopard, I was told use the leopard install disk and use disk utilities to locate the last Leopard TM backup and restore from that point and from there I was told I could recover all my Data, e-mails from Sept 3, 2009 the point of recovery at the time Sept 15/2009.
When I called back in after recoving to Sept 3/2009 for help in my data etc to Sept 15/2009 I was told I had been given bad advise, and that was not possible. So I have had to re-install SL and get back my data and e-mails etc to today. You can imagine how frustrating all this has been.
I'm now back on SL with all my Data, emails, etc but still experiencing many problems, and what I'm reading on this site makes me nervous that the worst is yet to come. My Tm seems to have double the amount of stuff and is a mixture of Leopard and SL backups. Is there a way of now going back to Leopard and then retrieving all my Data, form TM or from the other stuff I have saved? I have made copies of Mail, itunes, Documents, Safari, and I have all my pictures on my PC I have not added any since converting from my PC in early July. If I knew where they were I'd make a copy of them as well. I know there are a lot of smart Mac users out there so I'm hoping someone knows of a way of doing this, and can explain it it easy steps of a novice user. If there is someone from Apple out there reading this given the problems with SL I have had, and the bad advice on how to recover, some accurate, detailed instructions on how if possible I can get back to Leopard with all my data, it would sure be nice to hear from you.....

I rolled back a system from OS X 10.6.0 to OS X 10.5.8 via the Archive & Install (non-preserve) and it was successful. Now it didn't have any 3rd party applications installed. It just had the default OS bundled applications, iLife '09 and iWork '09. So that could have assisted in my success, I'm unsure how successful the process would have been if there was a lot of 3rd party framework modification. Although most of that would have been wiped clean in the Archive & Install, thus negating the problem.
Personally, I'd be more inclined to have you copy the contents of your Home folder (minus the Library) onto an external HD and manually reimport after a clean install of Leopard. The problem with that, however, is you'll lose Safari bookmarks, iCal data and Address Book data. So for something like you'd need to manually dig through the appropriate Library folders.
Are you near a Genius Bar? It might be worth visiting them and asking them for some assistance. I know when I worked there I was always outwardly accommodating when the issue was caused by inappropriate information that led you in the wrong direction from the start.

tried multiple times and i am getting more billing amount because of data usage

Mail isn't the only app using data. Turning it off there has no effect whatsoever on whether the rest of iOS or other apps you have installed. In fact most apps use data these days, at a minimum for Notifications and often for gameplay and other features.

Due to some issues with our servers i'm unable to make any SR's so i hope to recive some answers here instead while that issue gets resolved.
When looking in the colums "Added Date" and "Last Modified Date" certain activites have no dates there. When attempting to filter all the activities with a filter "Added Date Equals 'Blank' " ie all aktivites who do not have a date in Added Date, the results are 0 activites. I interpret this as the fields are not empty but for some reason the information is not displayed.

There are a number of reasons why the last modified or added date could be blank.

List View : Opening folder in folder changes modified date in list view

Since my office upgraded me to 10.5.4, when I flip open a folder in List View, then flip open a sub-folder, the modified date in the original folder changes to now. Opening subsequent folders again changes the modified date of the folder above it. I do not remember this happening in Tiger, and since part of my job involves finding and archiving old files, this is driving me crazy. Can I stop it?

That's interesting, and probably why the original poster had the same issue, but it does not work that way for me with Leopard 10.5.5.
In list view, the .DS_Store does not get updated when I flip down the folder. The .DS_Store file only gets updated if I open the folder in icon view. That makes sense because the .DS_Store file stores the relative position of the icons in the window.
However, when I go back to list view, even though the .DS_Store file is updated to the current data and time, the Date Modified of the parent folder does not change.
This different may be caused by some setting you are using in Finder that most people do not use, or maybe because of some other Mac OS X feature such as File Vault (which I do not use), or maybe some third party software that modifies Finder functionality. I don't know...
