Standalone IGS?

Hi Everyone,
Can someone tell me where the standalone Internet Graphics Server is or how to install it?  All I've found in the marketplace is the files for the Kernel Integrated Internet Graphics Server.  I tried the SCM 701 Installation Master but I don't see it in there either.
Thanks,
Peter

Okay, I found the IGSSETUP file for windows Windows IA32 32 bit but there is nothing offered under the Windows x86 folder, just the Kernel integrated.  Is the Standalone IGS even supported on a Windows x86 environment?

  • IGS - UNIX Some Words are Illegible

    Hello,
    I have a great problem. I possess IGS version UNIX installed in development and quality and the IGS version Windows installed in production.
    IGS in the version Unix the sources don't appear in a correct way. I make alteration in WebApplicationDesigner but in the moment of the execution of the URL the font is appears distorted.
    For exemplo:
    View the word " abastecimento " (the word i not
    correctly visible, it seems i with the very small space)
    IGS in the version Windows that doesn't happen. The font appear correctly.
    I already verified several notes SAP and I have to an open OSS, that come back the following answer:
    "the reason for this is that the integrated IGS uses a platform-
    independent library for drawing the characters within the image.
    This differs from the standalone IGS on Win32 that uses a
    Windows-specific library where a different font technique is used.
    In other words, if you use the same TrueType font files with the
    integrated and the standalone IGS you always get different results.
    If you are not satisfied with the results of the integrated IGS
    you can switch to using the standalone IGS instead."
    I don't believe that is true, because the execution of the sources is interpreted by "client" and not in the Unix.
    Anybody have an idea?

    Hi Alexandre,
    OSS is correct:
    the IGS receives all relevant information (data and customizing) for drawing an image. When creating the image the IGS also draws all texts directly into this bitmap, e.g. the charts title or the labels of a value axis. When the image is complete it is sent back as the result of the IGS call.
    As you can see there is no client logic involved, everything happens on the server.

  • Wrong layout chart with IGS 7.0 and 3.0b webtemplates

    Hi,
    We just did an upgrade from BW 3.0b to 7.0. We also upgraded te IGS to 7.0. We don't want to upgrade our webtemplates to the new version yet.
    However, if we display a chart now, it shows a wrong layout. If we change the IGS back to an old version it gives the right layout again.
    Should charts of 3.0b webtemplates work with IGS 7.0? Are there any setting that we can do to make this work?
    Thanks for your help!
    Guus Berenschot

    Hi,
    BW < 3.5 used a different chart component of the IGS, i.e. all the customizing settings of your charts are saved in a different format than in 3.5 or 7.0. That's the reason why all these settings have to be converted before using them in your new system.
    Please note that you have to use the standalone IGS 6.40 temporarily when calling the migration report. When the migration is finished remove the IGS 6.40 and use IGS 7.00.

  • IGS in BI 7.0

    Must I use the IGS inside UNIX in BI version 7.0 or can we have a standalone IGS in Windows?

    Thank you.  We were in doubt because now we are running BW 3.5 in UNIX platform, but IGS is Standalone software in a Windows System.  As we are close to upgrade to BI 7.0, we were not sure about all web reports migration from Windows IGS to Unix IGS.  As your reply, we will have to use the integrated IGS in UNIX, so all web reports will use the Unix IGS, as well.  It is correct, isn't it?

  • Restart portal integrated IGS?

    Hello,
    Does anyone know of some way of restarting the IGS that is built into the installation of EP6, not the standalone IGS?
    We're running EP6 SP9 and using the IGS server that is built into the installation instead of the standalone version.  But I can't seem to find any way to restart just that portion, the IGS server, without having to restart the whole Portal.
    Thanks,
    Tom

    James,
    Thanks for the info.  Could you expand on stopping the gateway service please?  I'm not seeing anything in that link that talks about this.  I remember in the stand-alone version of IGS, stopping the gateway service was easily done through the Windows Services panel.  But in the integrated version of IGS, this service is not running.  The processes that are running related to IGS on my system are:
    igsmux.exe (the igs multiplexer)
    igspw.exe (the igs portwatcher)
    igswd.exe (the igs watchdog)
    The only services I have running related to SAP are:
    SAP J2EE Engine Logviewer
    SAPOsCol
    SAP<instance_name>_00
    SAP<instance_name>_01
    Here is part of what my IGS config file looks like:
    <?xml version = "1.0"?>
    <IGSCONFIGURATION version="1.0">
         <TRACELEVEL>1</TRACELEVEL>
         <MUX ip="EPDF" port="40000">
              <LISTENERRFC programid="IGS.epdf" gwhost="bw21" gwservice="sapgw21" recontime="3600"/>
              <LISTENERHTTP port="40080"/>
         </MUX>
         <PORTWATCHER port="40001" loadfactor="3">
         </PORTWATCHER>
         <PORTWATCHER port="40002" loadfactor="3">
         </PORTWATCHER>
    </IGSCONFIGURATION>
    Also, I don't have a Start -> Programs -> SAP Frontend -> SAP IGS Configuration.  Since this is integrated, the only way I have of looking at IGS info is by navigating in a browser to http://epdf:40080 and specifying the port that IGS is running on.  Even then, the only things I have the ability to do are look at things.  There don't appear to be any admin functions.
    Thanks,
    Tom

  • Third-party Geocoding Program

    Dear All,
    I am looking for a Third-party Geocoding Program to integrate our TM 8.0 system. Do you have any suggestion for that?
    Regards,
    Mehmet YILMAZ

    I would start with IGS, but look at the following SAP Notes for more information:
    458731 Internet Graphics Service: Main Note
    454042 IGS: Installing and Configuring the IGS
    1135220 Installing IGS together with PTV servers
    1159083 Properties of the Windows standalone IGS
    1403895 SAPGISXML: IGS / PTV interface configuration
    793473 Applying a patch for Windows standalone IGS
    844669 Profile parameter of IGS as of Version 7.x
    There is also a CSA Deployment Accelerator white paper detailing the GIS integrations with TM using ALK's PCMiler application.  PCMiler is more than just Geo-Coding.  If you have some interest in this, let me know.

  • IGS - Program Not Registered

    Experts,
    I am unable to get connection to IGS.<SID>. I get the following error - "Program IGS.<SID> Not Registered. Secondly When I try to execute SIGS it prompts me "could not reach IGS".
    I am able to register  with "Rfcexec" successfully, so that i can check via sigw and see that IGS.<SID> is registerd.
    But still, when i try to test the connection via sm59 for IGS_RFC_DEST it prompts me the same error.
    Any valuable suggestions/comments.
    Thanks,
    Shailendra

    it depends on your SAP version. do you see IGS in SAPMMC? if not ,this means that it is standalone and can be shutdown/started with Windows services.

  • IGS for BW 3.5- Chart showing as column only

    IGS for BW 3.5
    Hi All,
    We've been having problems with our WAD chart, it is showing up only as column chart even though we change the chart type to e.g line chart, bar chart..etc.
    I found note 653249 but it everything seems okay in our system. IGS test in RSRT is working. Checked as well the settings by running BW_IGS_ADMIN and everything seems okay.
    We upgraded our front-end and now using BW 3.5 Patch 2 ( this came with SAP GUI 7.10), but still not working.
    I am not a Basis person, but i need to know what caused this problem and how to fix it. We are using BW 3.5 and IGS version is 6403.0.8.2.
    Seems like we are using the IGS standalone installation since the configuration file path is in D:\Program Files\SAP\Internet Graphics Server\conf\igs.xml.
    I read somewhere that IGS standalone is not for BW 3.5? Is this right? Any ideas about this?
    Thanks!
    Jti

    Hi Kai,
    Thanks a lot for your quick reply.
    However, i would like to clarify on something. in note 653249, it says there that "The IGS must not contain a gfwchart.dll file." In our setting, the chart is using the mischart.dll ( see below).
    3291 CHART 6403.0.8.5 SAPMIS
    3292 CHART 6403.0.8.5 SAPMIS
    So i was thinking our setting is alright. So this should be gfwchart.dll? Please confirm. If so, do you know of any note/docs for this setting? I will need it so i can endorse it to Basis.
    We use graph reporting in Crystal for most of our reports, so we never had issue about this charts in WAD until now. Do we still need to run the chart migration although we didnt have any web templates with charts before?
    Your input is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jti

  • IGS install for J2EE WAS 2004 on windows platform

    Ok i've tried several ways to get this to work and I've followed the installation instructions as well as a lot of forum posts.
    First off. The IGS folder does not show up beneath the \usr\sap\J2E\JCxx install for my box. I downloaded the IGS stand alone version because it had the install.exe. I tried utilizing the non-standalone version but could never seem to get the service started.
    I still need to configure a RFC (forgive my lack of SAP knowledge) on the SAP BW system that will publish data to my server that hosts the IGS service. However, having said that I would still think the service on my box should start.
    The startup file does not currently include a section for IGS so i'll add that (this i did before in the non-standalone) and give it a go. I'm running the Web AS locally on my box and I selected Stand Alone as the install type for the IGS and I chose 1 RFC listener and 1 HTTP listener.
    I setup the program id, RFC Host (message server on the BW system i'm pulling the data from), and gateway service (sapgw00).
    There is a lot of information on the forums in regards to the IGS installation and i've exhuasted most paths with no luck. If anyone can give me a hand i'd greatly appreciate it.
    julian

    I did run through the stand alone install like i said.
    The part of the stand alone install that is a bit confusing is the Section that asks for the following:
    Program ID:
    RFC-HOST:
    Gateway:
    For program ID i followed the documentation and used IGS.P<machineName>
    For RFC-HOST i pulled the message server name from the the SAP Login pad. That is basically just the machine name of the system that will provide data for the Graph.
    For gateway i used: sapgw<instance Number>
    After doing the stand alone installation will the service then run separately? How can I tell that it is running?
    For those who are new to SAP (as i am) the notes that you are often pointed to can be looked up here:

  • IGS - Problems with SAPGISXML interpreter

    Hello,
    I'm trying to setup an IGS (standalone) to work with an ArcIMS server from ESRI and provide maps to a WebDynPro application.
    I've noticed that, when I start the service, I get the following message in the trace file for the SAPGISXML interpreter:
    trc file: "C:Program FilesSAPInternet Graphics Serverlogsapgisxml_0151D2B0530_0.trc", trc level: 1, release: "640"

    I've checked both installation packages for IGS SP 7 and 8 and this file is nowhere to be seen. Can anyone provide me with the contents and location of this file? I believe the file will hold the configuration needed to connect to my ArcIMS server. Am I right?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    Did you ever got this to work?
    I try to set up GIS connection as well but having a hard time to find any good documentation.

  • IGS 640 installation

    I want to install igs 640 standalone on my BW 3.0B system - during the installtion i am asked to check or uncheck  rfc and http listeners installation - how would i know if a rfc listener is already used/installed on my system -(i do know that http listener is installed (i can see its settings in the igs.xml configuration file) the old version currently installed is 630.

    Dear Moshe,
    if an RFC listener is defined you would have seen it too in igs.xml. Information about configuring the RFC listener on both sides the IGS and your system is described in the pdf document that comes with the IGS and in note 454042.
    Please note that the parameters programid, gateway host and gateway service must be identical on both sides and that the programid is case sensitive.

  • IGS graphic generation via Chart designer

    Hello experts,
    Ive head that it is possible to use some kind of chart designer to design UI layout of graphs, charts generated by IGS and plug them in BSP pages. Can you point to where i can get this chart designer and whether it is accessible on ABAP system?
    Best regards,
    Yevgen

    Hi,
    In addition to Thomas' blog referenced above you can also use the SAP Chart Designer as a standalone tool. Just download it from SDNs download page (Tools for Application Server).
