Standalone install

Anyone try to install iPS on a standalone machine? Do you need to have DNS
setup?

Yes, you can install IPS on a stand alone machine.
I have an old sparcstation on my desc, running IPS SP3, withouth even beeing
networked. You must just add a full qulified hostname in the /etc/hosts
file.

  • Install Issue for P6 V7.0 Database Standalone Install

I am trying to install p6 v7.0 with a database standalone.
When I click on the setup.exe file on the cd, i am getting the following error:
    1155: documents and settings\ local settings\temp\wz2bb2\p6_v70 Client Application: P6 v7.0.msi not found.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

The path looks like a tempory Winzip or WinRAR path. You should first unzip the Installer you downloaded (maybefrom http://edelivery.oracle.com/). Then start the install. I sometimes get some trouble when the path get's too long, so I suggest to unzip to a drive/ first Level folder e.G. c:\P6v7\.

  • Have LR5.7 standalone installed.  Now with LR6 want to install through my CC2014 subscription.  Do I have to uninstall LR5.7 first or will the online CC App install regardless?

I have tried to install Lightroom through my CC2014 Photoshop subscription before.  Because I have a standalone version - 5.7 - I was unable to successfully install.  If I now want to install so I can get the newest upgrade to LR6, do I need to uninstall my LR 5.7 first?

LR6 or LR CC 2015 will run side-by-side with your LR 5.x. There is not need to uninstall LR 5.x first.
You can install the new version as (CC) Trial and later decide if you want to license by CC subscription or as stand-alone.

  • 10.1.3.2 and OC4J Standalone Install

    Hello all.
It is great to see that JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 is available!!! I am curious as to the timeline for 10.1.3.2 App Server / Standalone?
If I develop an app in this version, I am of course going to need a container to deploy to. So, a timeline would be great! Or, is there a way to take the embedded OC4J and redeploy it as a standalone installation?
    Thanks,
    BradW

  • Arch as Xen DomU or standalone install?

    Hi fellow Archers.
To mods: please move the post to appropriate section if this is not one
I have some questions on virtualisation, file servers and Arch.
I want to build my NAS box, with expand-ability in mind. I would love to use Arch as the OS to serve files and to be WWW/development server as well.
My hardware options so far are:
    Case: tower
CPU: Sempron X2 (cheap, 50% less energy than Intel/Athlons)
RAM: 16GB (it's dirt cheap anyway)
OS Disk: either 30G+ SSD or 500G Hybrid (more on this later)
Data disks: 3 or 4 TB Green disks (5400RPM)
I am pretty comfy with CLI
I can do either single Arch install to be file server, dev machine etc.
    OR
I was thinking on using Arch (or other distro if better) as Xen Dom0 and on top of it have specialised DomUs (Arch of course)
Single install would use SSD variant, while Xen/VMs would sit on 500GB Hybrid drive.
When should I start, what choice shall I make?
Is it insanely difficult to setup & manage Xen/file serving VMs?
Would the Sempron handle Xen + a couple DomUs?
I am willing to get me hands dirty, and learn but at the same time I do not want to spend endless days on setup to realise it's stupid in the first place.
[edit]: Maybe LXC or qemu would fit my bill?
    Thank you in advance,
    Greg.

Take a look at FreeNAS.  OS goes on CF card.  FreeBSD project.  Might be more appropriate.

Do you have a 64-bit direct/offline-install version of Adobe Flash 11.3.300.270 for Firefox and IE?

Note that these installers will install both 32-bit & 64-bit players on a 64-bit system.

  • Do I have to install SharePoint Foundation 2013 via a script in order to name my content databases without the GUID references?

    Hi,
I want to install SharePoint Foundation 2013 on a standalone server with SQL Express but I want to be able to name the content databases without their GUID references. Will I have to use an install script (AutoSPInstaller perhaps?) to achieve this?
    Thanks.

You can't do a standalone install if you want the alias (also if you plan to move the databases in the future)
You'll need to create the alias before you create the farm with the Configuration wizard or PowerShell so you can specify the alias. Whether you create the alias before or after installing SQL Express doesn't matter as long as it points to the instance.

  • How to install ADF Runtime libraries to an Oracle Application Server 10g?

    Scenario:
    - JDev 10.1.3 (production) installed on my Win XP station.
    - OC4J 10.1.3 Standalone installed on my Win XP station.
    - OAS 10.1.3 (not OC4J Standalone) installed on a Linux SuSe server.
    - I have admin credentials for the OAS but don't for the server.
Is it possible to install ADF Runtime from OAS Enterprise Manager? If yes, please, let me know. If not, I will have to bother server admin in order to copy those files. In this case, ca I rely on the log html file resulted from the install I made on my local OC4J instance in order to select the needed files?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    São Paulo - Brasil

As far as i know the ADF libraries can be updated via the solution you gave :
Tools -> ADF Runtime Installer -> Oracle Application Server
but this only applies for an OAS installed on the same machine where jdev resides
for OAS in UNIX like systems i'm not sure if this can be done
as far as i know the libraries must be copied manually but i can't confirm this theory
i would like to know if it's possible to update the libraries from the Wizard on jdev installed on a windows machine to an OAS installed in UNIX?

  • Apple mobile device support unable to install

I have windows 8.1 and itunes "11.1.5.5".  I have tried uninstalling itunes and everything else that has to do with apple on my system many times and still get this error. I have also tried what I found in other discussions about installing apple mobile device on its own and when I try that I get this error.
apple mobile device support wasn't installed on your computer.
The installer encountered errors before apple mobile device support could be configured.
Your system has not been modified. To tetry these operations at a later time, please run installer again."
I have tried this many times as well as uninstalling everything that has to do with itunes and apple and I still can't get it to work.
    help!!!!

You could try downloading and installing 7-Zip (free) and downloading a fresh copy of the iTunes installer, unpack the installer into its components using 7-Zip then try a standalone install of AppleMobileDeviceSupport. It may still fail to install but if so you may get useful error messages as to why not.

  • Problems installing iTunes for windows

    Hi,
Just bought a lovely 30Gb black ipod video...however i cannot seem to install iTunes. The route of the issue seems to be that I have Sonic Record Now cd burning software installed already on my machine (straight from the shop).
When uploading for the first time using both the disc and from apple.com I got an error messages that said I had a conflict within the registry, something to do with my previously installed CD burning software - please re-install iTunes. When i removed iTunes my CD drive disappears and i have to do a system restore.
I have tried this a few times with no success - so decided to try and remove the Sonic Record Now programme...when i used the disc after this I just got a standard error message "iTunes has encountered a problem and has to close"....
I have not yet managed to download from apple.com again because i don't have internet at home...but I would imagine that i'll simply get the second error message again as above - i am really getting frustrated.
I gather its not an isolated problem - and have seen a few solutions but all of these seem to depend on a successful download of iTunes from apple.com - something that i can't yet do because of the registry conflict.

  • Best way to  (re)install Mountain Lion fresh on a new ssd

Hi,  I've been running Mountain Lion on my 2010 Mac Pro 3.2ghz but it's got incredibly slow with only 120 GB on a 1 TB HDD.. I've used every utility to try to clean my old drive and speed things up (DiskWarrior, defragmentation, etc) without much help I don't want to carry over all the stuff to a new SSD. I'd like to start clean with an entirely new OS install of Mountain Lion on a Samsung 512GB SSD. I've got all the software and once it's upgraded I'll figure out which files to carry forward or keep all the data files on another drive with links. I'll figure that out eventually.
Mty present system was built starting with Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion. I purchased licenes for each of the OSes and still have all the software. I may even have Lion on a bootable thumb drive. Do I have to start with Leopard and then move to Snow Leopard before moving to Mountain Lion?
I did try just reinstalling a new OS  by booting Mountain Lion and using Time Machine. Still slow...like 75 seconds to boot and spinning wheels.. I haven't tried moving the files and then reinstalling Mountain Lion with a clone then to the SSD. I'd like to start with a new system install direct to the SSD.
Any ideas. Again, I do have all the licenses and could start with Leopard but that seems tedious.

You don't need to upgrade anything, as I believe you suspect. A straight install of ML will get you there. I did the same thing on a Crucial M500 last week and it's working like a charm. And that was on a 2010 Mac Pro.
If you haven't installed your Samsung in a Mac Pro bay yet, I'd recommend this which fits perfectly.
Are you saying I can do a standalone install of Mountain Lion by itself with NO previous system? I just checked Apple/s minimum requirements for Mountain Lion =
    "Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory
8 GB or more of available space"
This suggests that Mountain Lion is NOT a standalone install, but an upgrade

  • Recovery Disks won't install to new HD

    Hello, all,
My laptop froze up last week and wouldn't boot to the OS. Laptop is an HP Pavillion g6-1b60us, running Windows 7. I've tried a number of things, including a new hard drive, the recovery partition, recovery CDs, standard OS install discs, and testing the HD and memory in BIOS. All efforts are detailed below, sorry for the length, but I'm in Day 8 of trying to fix this.
I first tried restoring from the recovery partition, but after restoring, it told me on start up it couldn't find the boot manager.
I then tried installing Windows Vista from a standalone install CD (not an upgrade). Managed to boot it to Vista doing this, but when I tried to upgrade to Windows 8, the computer wouldn't complete the install on reboot.
I then ordered recovery disks from HP. Same problem as recovering from the recovery partition.
I opened up the computer and reseated the hard drive and ram.
I then used the BIOS to test the hard drive and the memory. Memory test came back fine, hard drive came back with an error.
Bought a new hard drive, same size, same brand. (500GB) I tried using the recovery disks to install the OS on the new drive. I consistently got errors saying files could not be copied to the hard drive in the first step.
Then tried installing Windows Vista, also got errors saying it wouldn't copy over.
Tested the hard drive in the BIOS, came back fine.
I then tried installing the OS to the original hard drive and cloning the drive to the new drive in Linux. This failed as well. For reference, the computer will run Linux perfectly using a USB drive.
I'm now at the end of my rope. Is there a chance the new drive is just a lemon and picking up a new one will fix this? Is there something with the recovery CDs that make them reject new drives? Any advice anyone has would be very helpful.
    Thanks in advance!

Got a new hard drive (same size, different brand). Installed perfectly.
For some reason, the new HGST 500GB travelstar just wouldn't work, which is odd since the original is a Hitachi as well. The drive worked fine as an external, etc, and tested fine, so who knows. Kept getting the error "failed to create E:\sdv.flg".
Got it running just fine on a  Toshiba 500gb.
