Standalone lookup - How to join in ODI - SQL Server

Hi All,
My Sql server query is joining as follows
Select ...................
From A.DBO.MAIN
Inner Join A.DBO.LOOKUP_STANDALONE on 1=1
How will I convert this in ODI?
Thank you for the time and help.

Hello,
I think that what you want to do is a cartesian join (join all rows from MAIN with all rows from LOOKUP_STANDALONE).
You can do that in ODI by drag one random column from MAIN onto one column of LOOKUP_STANDALONE (no matter which columns). Then click on your join et select the "Cross" Checkbox.
Hope it helps,
JeromeFr

  • How to join two pl/sql tables .,.,,Urgent pls help

    Hi,
    Please tell me how to join to pl/sql tables with example
    thanks
    asp

    If your main intention is to get the common records/or getting whole records from the 2 different pl/sql arrays then , pls check this piece of code & explanation
    The SQL language has long offered the ability to apply set operations (UNION, INTERSECT, and MINUS) to the result sets of queries. In Oracle Database 10g, you can now use those same high-level, very powerful operators against nested tables (and only nested tables) in your PL/SQL programs and on nested tables declared as columns inside relational tables.
    Let's take a look at some of the syntax needed to do this, starting with UNION.
    First, I create a schema-level nested table type:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE strings_nt
    IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(100);
    Then I define a package and within it create and populate two nested tables of this type, each containing some of my father's and my favorite things:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE favorites_pkg
    IS
    my_favorites strings_nt
    := strings_nt ('CHOCOLATE'
    , 'BRUSSEL SPROUTS'
    , 'SPIDER ROLL'
    dad_favorites strings_nt
    := strings_nt ('PICKLED HERRING
    , 'POTATOES'
    , 'PASTRAMI'
    , 'CHOCOLATE'
    PROCEDURE show_favorites (
    title_in IN VARCHAR2
    , favs_in IN strings_nt
    END;
    In this package, I also include a procedure to show the contents of a strings_nt nested table. This will come in very handy shortly.
    By defining these collections in a package, outside any program, they persist (they maintain their state and values) for the duration of my session or until I change or delete them. This means that I can now write programs outside the package to manipulate the contents of those collections.
    Note that this package has been simplified for the purposes of presenting collection functionality. In a production application, you should always take care to "hide" your package data, as with these collections, in the package body, and then provide procedures and functions to manage the data.
    Suppose, for example, that I would like to combine these two collections into a single collection of our favorites. Prior to Oracle Database 10g, I would have to write a loop that transfers the contents of one collection to another. Now, I can rely on the MULTISET UNION operator, as shown below:
    DECLARE
    our_favorites
    strings_nt := strings_nt ();
    BEGIN
    our_favorites :=
    favorites_pkg.my_favorites
    MULTISET UNION ---- Use INTERSECT , if you want to know common records
    favorites_pkg.dad_favorites;
    favorites_pkg.show_favorites (
    'ME then DAD', our_favorites);
    END;
    The output from this script is:
    ME then DAD
    1 = CHOCOLATE
    2 = BRUSSEL SPROUTS
    3 = SPIDER ROLL
    4 = PICKLED HERRING
    5 = POTATOES
    6 = PASTRAMI
    7 = CHOCOLATE

  • How to connect to a Sql server from Oracle using db link

    Hi All,
    Does anybody have any idea about how to connect to a sql server from oracle database using db link to syncronize the data? I need to pull the data from Sql server table to Oracle tables and relay messages back to the sql server.
    Thank you,
    Praveen.

    we have 2 products - DG4MSQL and DG4ODBC.
    DG4ODBC is for free and requires a 3rd party ODBC driver and it can connect to any 3rd party database as long as you use a suitable ODBC driver
    DG4MSQL is more powerfull as it is designed for MS SQL Server databases and it supports many functions it can directly map to SQL Server equivalents - it can also call remote procedures or participtae in distributed transactions. Please be aware DG4MSQL requires a license - it is not for free.
    Check out Metalink and you'll find notes how to configure both products.

  • How to Encrypt Column in SQL Server?

    Hi all,
    I am using ColdFusion MX 7 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000
    database. I have a column that contains social security numbers of
    my users and am feeling the need to encrypt that column.
    Trouble is, I have no clue how to do this in SQL Server or
    how I could display the data from that column in my web app once
    the column is encrypted.
    Can anyone offer any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

    Here's one way...
    To encrypt:
    URLEncodedFormat(Encrypt(yourSStoencrypt,
    application.encKey)) then
    store this value in MSSQL
    To decrypt:
    Decrypt(URLDecode(yourSStodecryptfromDB), application.encKey)

  • How to secure connection in sql server 2008? my main problem is which certificate should i add in mmc

    i'm recently working on hardening of sql server 2008. now i face with a problem. my problem is  how to secure connection in sql server 2008?  my main problem is which certificate should i add in mmc? what are these certificates about?and guide
    me in choosing the appropriate certificate.
    and how should i know that the connection in sql server is secured?
    plz guide me from the beginning cause i'm rookie in this subject.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi sqlfan,
    Question 1: my problem is how to secure connection in sql server 2008?
    Microsoft SQL Server can use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt data that is transmitted across a network between an instance of SQL Server and a client application. For more information about Encrypting Connections to SQL Server, please refer to the following
    article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189067(v=sql.105).aspx
    Question 2: my main problem is which certificate should i add in mmc? what are these certificates about?and guide me in choosing the appropriate certificate.
    To install a certificate in the Windows certificate store of the server computer, you will need to purchase/provision a certificate from a certificate authority first. So please go to a certificate authority to choose the appropriate certificate.
    For SQL Server to load a SSL certificate, the certificate must meet the following conditions:
    The certificate must be in either the local computer certificate store or the current user certificate store.
    The current system time must be after the Valid from property of the certificate and before the Valid to property of the certificate.
    The certificate must be meant for server authentication. This requires the Enhanced Key Usage property of the certificate to specify Server Authentication (1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.1).
    The certificate must be created by using the KeySpec option of AT_KEYEXCHANGE. Usually, the certificate's key usage property (KEY_USAGE) will also include key encipherment (CERT_KEY_ENCIPHERMENT_KEY_USAGE).
    The Subject property of the certificate must indicate that the common name (CN) is the same as the host name or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the server computer. If SQL Server is running on a failover cluster, the common name must match the host
    name or FQDN of the virtual server and the certificates must be provisioned on all nodes in the failover cluster.
    Question 3: how should i know that the connection in sql server is secured?
    If the certificate is configured to be used, and the value of the ForceEncryption option is set to Yes, all data transmitted across a network between SQL Server and the client application will be encrypted using the certificate. For more detail about this,
    please refer to Configuring SSL for SQL Server in the following article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189067(v=sql.105).aspx

  • How to register VSPackage into SQL Server Management Studio?

    Hi All,
    I am a newer to VSPackage, I want to create a VSPackage for SQL Server Management Studio(SSMS), now I can create a VSPackage project and debug it in Visual Studio but don't know how to debug it in SQL Server Management Studio and how to deploy VSPackage to
    SSMS by MSI? Thanks

    By the way I find a extension.vsixmanifest file and some .pkgdef files under
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn\ManagementStudio\Extensions\  folder, and they are very similar with VSPackage files. Do know this is useful or not.
    Hi Vic Zhang,
    After some research, There are some notes. SQL Server Management Studio is built upon the Visual Studio Isolated Shell, which inherently supports extensibility (add-ins/plug-ins). It is possible to tap into the Visual Studio extensibility services to surface
    custom capabilities within SQL Server Management Studio; however, we do not discourage this, keep in mind that such extensibility is not supported, so there may be issues with backward/forward compatibility. Microsoft does not publish documentation for extending
    SQL Server Management Studio.
    If you want to debug VSPackeage about SSMS, I recommend you debug in Visual Studio and not in SSMS, open the project and attach to the process of SSMS.exe, then debug it.
    About the issue of finding the “RootKey”, a .pkgdef file is way to encapsulate application configuration information in an easily editable, distributable, and deployable form. And it registers the Extension Manager (which is written as a VS Package). If
    you install SQL Server 2012, the .pkgdef of SSMS is located in the following path, you can check the “RootKey” in this .pkgdef file.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn\ManagementStudio
    There is detail about a PkgDef, you can review the following article.

  • How to script schedule in sql server agent

    Hi,
    How to script schedule in sql server 2005. When I click on script option in manage schedule, there is message ' there is no action to script'. So my question is how to create script for these schedule?
    Thanks

    As far as I can tell, there is no way to script an entire schedule using SSMS..
    Hi D.,
    this is not true - you can create, alter and delete ANY schedule with SSMS.
    msdb.dbo.sp_add_schedule: create a new schedule
    msdb.dbo.sp_update_schedule: alter an existing schedule
    msdb.dbo.sp_delete_schedule: removes a schedule
    msdb.dbo.sp_attach_schedule: set a schedule for an existing job
    msdb.dbo.sp_detach_schedule: remove a schedule from a job
    @dba_learner
    all above stored procedures are located in msdb and fully documented.
    Scripting of elements of a job can only take effect if you do any changes to it. Otherwise the best practice is th click right on the job -> [Script job...]-> [create to new window] to get the COMLETE syntax for the creation of the job. There is one step
    for the schedule and its usage, too!

  • How to join a Domain Controller Server to an two-tier (SQL Server 2012) and Sharepoint 2013 (SP2013) farm

    Hi,
    I am trying to build a 3-tier SharePoint 2013 farm.
    1. SQL Server 2012, Windows 2012 VM
    2. DC Server, Windows 2012 VM
    3. SharePoint 2013, Windows 2012 VM
    I didn't built the DC server. Someone else did. However, I created about 14 service domain user accounts for SQL Server and SharePoint install and operation.
    I was able to join the SQL Server into the SharePoint server farm using SharePoint 2013 Product Configuration Wizard.  When I start the Central Admin, and click on Servers in the Farm, I only see the SharePoint server and SQL server,
    but the DC server is not listed.  Any suggestion on what did I miss?
    Thanks
    Jean

    You cannot join the Domain Controller to your SharePoint farm.  You must instead join each server from that farm to the domain that is served up by that DC.  You will want to uninstall SharePoint and probably SQL before you do this.  If it's
    an option, I would re-provision your VMs completely and start fresh.  Once you login to a new server, join that server to the target domain like this:
    http://www.petri.co.il/join-windows-server-2012-to-domain.htm
    You'd have to ensure that your DNS resolves to the target domain on the server being joined to the domain.  If it doesn't, you can always use HOSTS entries to overcome that in the short term.
    Once you've joined both the future SQL and SharePoint servers to the domain, you can install SQL Server and then SharePoint on their prospective servers to create your farm.
    I trust that answers your question...
    Thanks
    C

  • How to create a .mdf SQL Server database from a Data-Tier Application file that has data?

    This is a noob question, though I do use SQL Server databases all the time with Entity Framework when I code in C# using Visual Studio 2013.  The development environment is found below at [A].  I am trying to make a clone of a SQL Server 2008 R2
    database (.mdf)  that exists online.  I can read, connect and work with this database in Visual Studio 2013, but I wish to make a local copy of the database, as an .MDF file.  Somewhere in my notes I have a way of creating a local copy from
    an online database when using Visual Studio but I forgot how (it seems, reviewing my notes, that it deals with ADO.NET which is deprecated in Visual Studio 2013 these days, or so it seems).  So I'm looking for another way.  What I did was create
    (or export) a "Data-Tier Application File" from the online SQL Server database, with data, and it seems to have worked in that this Data-Tier Application file exists on my hard drive and seems to have data in it ("SQL Server Replication Snapshot"
    is the format it seems).  It contains skeleton code to create a database, but when I tried to execute it with SQL Server 2014 Management Studio, I got a bunch of errors.
    So my question is:
    1) Can I somehow create a .MDF SQL Server Database from an Data-Tier Application file that has data?  What tool do I use?  I saw this link, http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/2639.how-to-use-data-tier-application-import-and-export-with-a-windows-azure-sql-database.aspx
    and it relates to Azure, but is there a tool for C#Visual Studio 2013, standalone?
    2) If there's an easy way to create a .mdf SQL Server Database file from an online file, within SQL Server Management Studio?  I don't think so, since it would require Administrator permissions on the online server, which I don't have. I have permission
    to read, update, delete the online database file, but strangely not to download it (the service I use has a tool for backup, but not for download).
    3) same question as 2), but for Visual Studio 2013?  I don't think so, since I notice none of the templates even mentions ADO.NET anymore, but instead they go with Entity Framework.  Using EF I can of course do anything I want with the online database
    (CRUD), but it remains online.  Maybe there's a switch to make a local copy?  I guess I could write a short program to suck all the data out of the online database and put it into a new, duplicate database having the same tables, that I create on
    my localhost, but my question here is if there's an easier way than this, maybe a tool or command I can run from inside Visual Studio?
    Any advice on any of the above questions is appreciated.
    Thank you,

    "2. what do you mean by online file?" - I mean the SQL Server database file is on a remote web server that I rent from, but I am not the administrator of.  I can access my database using SQL Server Authentication, but nothing more.
