Standalone player (projector) for Linux 64?

I'm looking for a standalone player (projector) that will run on 64 bit linux (specifically ubuntu 11.04).  There was a projector included w/ v10 but it appears to be 32 bit only.  Is there or will there be a standalone player for linux 64?  I need this to run automated tests (FLEX SDK w/ TeamCity) on a headless box.
Thanks!
Jerry

i am looking for this too, any ideas?

  • Projector for Linux

Flash-8 allows creating projectors for Windows and Mac.
How do I have a projector for Linux?
Or perhaps there are Flash players for Linux?

*Bump* I'm having the same problem in Ubuntu and Flash Player 10 (10,3,181,14).

  • Flash Player 9 for Linux

Could someone at Adobe please update us with what is
happening with Flash Player 9 for Linux? I noticed that other Flex
components have been released for Linux, so obviously there is some
    groundwork to Flash Player 9.

Will alienate? They've already alienated users a long time
ago. That isn't the point, though, because it doesn't matter if
users are alienated, it only matters if the users need flash.
The only thing that could make flash player better is open
source. I don't see why they don't do it. They make money on the
authoring tool, not the player. All of my Linux machines are ppc
and x86_64, no flash there. I also don't have flash on my PDA, a
Palm T|X. If the player was open sourced, people would stop
complaining about how much flash sucks -- because, right now, there
are very serious, legitimate, complaints against it.
Anyway, for now I'm hoping that SVG matures quickly.
Although, I"m sure that once Adobe sees that train coming, they
will extend Flash (dev.) to export SVG movies containing embedded
binary data that can only play with their binary plugin.

  • Standalone Player (Projector) SOL Fails in Vista

I have a Flash MX application compiled as a Projector to run
as a Windows standalone (no browser), but it needs to get data from
a server application using sendAndLoad (through plain HTTP). This
data must be stored in Shared Local Objects (.sol files) for the
app to run. It works fine in Windows XP, and did work fine in
initial Windows Vista. But now it fails in Vista SP1 (although
server logs show it still runs the server app). So either Vista SP1
is blocking the data return (and the firewall
is open for the Flash exe), or preventing the Flash exe from
writing the SOL file to disk - or something else I haven't thought
    of.
    Grateful for a solution.

BTW, the ZT works fine on an XP system using same software as on Vista

  • Flash player 9 for Linux, shows time one hour ahead

Flash player 9 show time one hour ahead on Linux. Has anybody
    seen this behavior?
I want know if there is any fix/workaround for this?
try following code on FP9 on Linux Mozilla. My observation
was it shows time by one hour ahead.
    trace("Current Time "+new Date());
I hope I am not missing something very basic here.

    Can somebody please confirm/deny this.
FP 9 on Linux shows time one hour ahead than the local time.
Try following line with FP9 on Linux
    trace("Current Time "+new Date());

  • Flash Player 10.2 Projector (debug) for Linux

The links on the flash player 10.2 download page for linux (http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html)
seem to still point to the 10.1 version.  At least, when I download and run those, the 'about' dialog says it is version 10,1,102,64.  Where are the 10.2 flash player links for linux?

If you download the Linux Projector from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html and execute it, the About dialog states 10.2.152.28
The previous version with the ampersand problem was 10.2.152.27 and I had downloaded it from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html (which is still there in that page, look for Flash Player 10.2.152.26 (65.9 MB), although it states .26, the Linux projector inside that archive is .27)

Very hard to believe. It seems like nobody works on player8

  • Not complaining, just asking - date for flash 8 for Linux?

    Hi,
Just wondering if there's a release date/month/year for flash
player 8 for Linux. I'm sure it is incredibly hard to port, blah
blah blah, but in all the software companies I've worked in, I've
had to work to deadlines, and give reasonable estimates. If you
have any vitriolic redneck abuse to add, please do it somewhere
else, I don't want to be associated with you. Thanks :-)
    Love, light and peace,
    Crispibits.

    > Why is this version not ready and available?
Because it is non-trivial to port the player code.
    > 64-bit processors have been out for quite a while, now!
Yes .. and that is why the port is being done .. but it will
    be part of 8.5
(now to be known as Flash Player 9) .. if they ported FP8
    then by the time
    it was ready.
    > The Adobe corporate culture isn't crippling MacroMedia
    products, is it?
It has noting to do with Adobe.. this all happened well
    before Adobe took
    over.
    > This is poor marketing and deficient customer service.
I don't see what it has to do with marketing. Is purely
    technical. And I
don't see that it is poor customer service either. Indeed,
    MM/Adobe are
being quite sensible and responsible about this by making the
    port part of
the new FP9 instead of delaying things for all concerned to
    get out a FP8
port that would then be immediately out of date.
    > Well . . . RealMedia has filled the gap for you!
RealMedia is no where near what Flash does .. its very
    simplistic .. and I
wouldn't trust Real as far as I could throw them (which isn't
    very far).

  • When will firefox be updated for linux ubuntu ?

Compared to Firefox on other OS's this one just don't cut it for me.. it needs to be more compatable to ubuntu.. and an upgrade for flashplayer and java..This version isnot good at all..

Adobe is the one that makes and provides the Flash player plugin for Linux and they currently only support 11.2 esr with security updates.
Firefox does not come with any Plugins with the exception of the OpenH264 video codec provided by Cisco more recently.
Mozilla does not make any packages or updates for Ubuntu version of Firefox as Ubuntu does that. Also Ubuntu is only one of the huge list of Linux distros out there as Mozilla cannot just make it work best for only one in particular.
Mozilla does provide tarballs for 32-bit and 64-bit Linux at www.mozilla.org/firefox/all

  • How does Flash Player projector/standalone connect to the Internet

I know that when a web service call is made from a flash player in the browser that the underlying browser is used to handle the traffic.  I also know that this isn't the case with flash projector because the security docs say that the projector files can't take advantage of SSL because they aren't run in the context of the browser.  So what mechanism does a standalone or projector application use to connect to the Internet?  I'm trying to analyze a possible application for someone from a security point of view, but I'm not sure what mechanism is in place.
Thanks to anyone who knows or even knows of some decent references.  I can't find much on projectors....

As far as I know, the standalone player does not connect to the Internet - it just plays local Flash content.
Or can you actually give it an Internet (http) location to play?  (I do not currently have Projector installed, so I cannot try it.)

  • 10.1 linux standalone player

I was wondering if a standalone version of Flash Player 10.1 for linux will be released?
I know the Emmy Huang acknowledged (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/525703) standalone 10.1 will be made available with the tools, but the Flash IDE is not made for linux.
If indeed it will be released will it be available at the same time as the standalone versions for Windows and Mac OSX?

Linux standalone Flash Player 10.1 was released on 06/10/2010 and can be  found at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html.
