Hi All,
Creating an idoc via WE19 concerning /ISDFPS/PACKVOR, I still get the error message "The target quantity must be 1 for the load carrier item" when processing it.
But my target quantity for my load carrier item is already 1.
I tried several formats such as leading zeros, but nothing would pass this message...
Any idea?

When you ask, "Can we use SAP Standard extractors to pull out data from R3 to XI (without BI)," are you referring to SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI now called SAP Process Integration or SAP PI) or are you referring to SAP Business Objects Enterprise XI?
SAP PI (SAP XI) doesn't have the mechanisms necessary for execution of standard extractors. SAP Business Objects Entrprise XI, by itself, doesn't have this capability. You would need to have SAP Business Objects Data Services XI, which is a separate application and has separate licensing than SAP Business Objects Enterprise XI, in order to expose the standard content extractors in SAP applications. If I recall, that capability was introduced in SAP Business Objects Data Services XI 3.2, which went into general release in August 2009.

BAPI or IDOC

Hi friends,
We have the Requirement of taking customer data from Legacy to ECC through PI. The Client has 167 fields in his customer database . But ECC needs Only 25-30 fields . BI needs all fields. So my PI consultant has create one structure which is common to both of us. So, My doubt is whether i have to go For IDOC or BAPI . Which one is better to do...and the reason to go for particular method...............Thanks in Advance.

It really depends .
If there is already standard BAPI or Idoc exists, then it is prefer to go for that. In this case, as you expect Response i.e Synchrnous, then it is prefer to go for BAPI communication. But potential problem here, is if huge amount of data flow is there, then you need to check the performance as it is a synchrnous. Bottomline is to avoid synchronous call as much as possible. if so then automatically the choice is Idoc. And there are already error handling etc is taken care if it is standard idoc/rfcs

Standard BAPI or wrapped in a ZBAPI?

Hi folks,
Iu2019m doing a scenario File to RFC (BAPI_PO_CREATE).
The file has several purchase orders to create and Iu2019m wondering which the best approach to follow? Iu2019ve been thinking in the following two approaches:
1 u2013 As BAPI_PO_CREATE only creates one PO per call, with help of ccBPM and a block ParForEach I can call BAPI_PO_CREATE synchronously for each header line plus items. However, this scenario must be atomic (or we create the entire POu2019s or nothing is created) so Iu2019ve to set the test parameter of this BAPI, collect each exception and in a switch step ask if there is exceptions. In case of exceptions a new message is created with all exceptions and mailed to the business process responsible. If everything is ok, Iu2019ve to repeat the BAPI calls but now without the test parameter set, in order to crate all PO in R/3.
I didnu2019t try it before but I think it can work.
2 u2013 Wrapping the BAPI_PO_CREATE, BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT and respective rollback in a ZBAPI; with this I can model the development as I wish. I can create a ZBAPI to receive all POu2019s and inside it in a loop create each PO and also do the exception handling there.
The first approach seems aligned with SAP best practices; however it seems complex to handle and heavy for PI system performance compared with second approach.
Another point is we are going to upgrade SAP ERP; therefore we will get the local integration engine to develop ABAP proxies. I think with the 2ª approach we can move quickly (migrate) these developments to ABAP proxy.
Which are the best practices for integration with RFC adapter? Should I always use standard BAPIs or in this case is recommended to wrap the BAPI?

there are a few alternatives to your approach because of which
I wouldn't use any of those two which you proposed
this is what I'd so:
since you don't have ABAP proxies yet - you should use IDOC
PORDCD101 to create purchase orders - this way you can send all of them
in one call (IDOC bundling) but in ERP they will appearch as one by one
so even if one of them will not work you will know which one is it
(this is not the case with RFC calls as they are not persistent in ERP)
if you can wait for abap proxies - you can also choose the abap proxy approach (also does not matter if you do them one by one or all at once
as they will be persistent in ERP so you will know which one failed
and you can reprocess - the same as with IDocs)
since RFCs in your two scenarios are not persistent you'd
have to build some functionality to cover that - but there is no need to do it
as you have :
1. stasdanrd IDOC
2. you can do it with proxies

there are lot many ways of creating Mat master.
1: you can go for idocs: /CWM/MATMAS_BAPI, /SAPSLL/MATMAS_SLL, ARTMAS, MATMAS..
2: you can use LSMW batch method:

FM for Inbound:- IDOC_INPUT_USERCLONE
With this much of information i dn't knw how to proceed further.
i have created Distribution Model, added BAPI, created partner profile.
Now i don't understand how the data will be uploaded into IDOC, how BAPI will read the data.. If some sample Program is available which will help in firing the BAPI, then provide me the link..
It's urgent.. Useful results will be rewarded.

Issue while creating Outbound Delivery using Standard BAPI

Hi all,
I am trying to create an outbound delivery for a Sales order using the Standard BAPI - BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CREATE_SLS.
After giving the valid inputs for Sales order no and doc no, am getting an error as "No instance of object type OutboundDelivery has been created. External reference:" But when trying to create manually there is no problem. Please suggest what may be the issue and how to correct it?

I am trying to create outbound delivery using BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CREATE_SLS & BAPI_DELIVERYPROCESSING_EXEC. But no success. Getting "No instance of object type outbound delivery has been created" in return.

2) Delivery selection date
Needs to be passed in import parameters.

Support message creation using "BAPI_NOTIFICATION_CREATE" standard BAPI

Hello Experts,
I am a ABAPer making use of "BAPI_NOTIFICATION_CREATE", for creation of support desk message in SOLMAN 4.0 . The problems that i am facing , when i create message using this BAPI are,
1)By default the notification type is taken as 'SLFN',though i pass 'SLF1' as my input parameter to BAPI.WHY is this happening?
2)The description part of the message is not coming up in the support desk screen ,though i pass it in NOTIF_TEXT_LINES in TDLINE.
3)Support Team value is getting picked up in the partners tab of Transaction data in support desk screen.
4)I would like to ADD ATTACHMENTS also ? where should i pass this parameter ?
Other than this i am getting the rest of the feilds,in the message created
If some one has worked with this standard BAPI pls send me the details of the input parameters that i have to pass for the message creation and give solution for my problem ASAP.
If there are any SAP notes or blogs that are related to this,pls send me those details also, its a urgent requirement.

Standard BAPI to post payment in SAP-ISU

My client's requirement is the payment via third party should be posted synchronously in SAP-ISU system means payment is accepted by third party and we just need to update that payment in SAP-ISU system. We are trying to achieve this by RFC.
I came across BAPI_CTRACCTRCTACCNT_PAYBYCARD which post the payment in the system but it need credit card detail. I want to post the payment from third party which can be cash/cheque. I just wanted to know if there is any standard BAPI which can be used to post payment in SAP-ISU system?

Hi you can try with the following BAPI'S
BAPI_CTRACPAYMINC_CREATE
BAPI_CTRACPAYMINC_APPEND
BAPI_CTRACPAYMINC_RELEASE
BAPI_CTRACPAYMINC_CLOSE
If you have PI available you should check out the external cash desk functionality.
