Standard business process library for SAP IS-U

Hi,
I need to understand the standard business processes (i.e. in a vanilla implementation) of SAP IS-U for Offer & Contracting.
Is there a tutorial/manual available that explains the standard / vanilla business processes involved with Offer & contracting and that links it with the SAP transactions?
TIA,
Christiaan

Hi,
You should be getting it in help.sap.com itself

because of historic reason in history of SAP there might be the risk to misinterpret your question.  This would be my first answer:
1.) check this document first: SAP EHS Management for Beginners
2.) check may be:SAP Product and REACH Compliance - SAP Library

    Cool,
The below link should help you.

In the area Industry-specific information you will find general industry information and general information on SAP Best Practices for High Tech.

  • SAP business process maps for mySAP ECC6.0?

Any idea how we can get the SAP business process maps for mySAP ECC6.0?  Is this imbedded in Solution Manager?
    Thanks,
    Phani

    Hello Phani,
I suppose you are looking for the solution maps for mySAP ERP (which contains SAP ECC as a component). These maps are not contained in the SAP Solution Manager, but they are delivered with the SAP Solution Composer, an offline PC tool which allows you to browse and pre-scope your own solution (evaluating your solution). The tool itself including the latest solution map content is always available for download at the SAP Service Marketplace:
    <a href="http://service.sap.com/s-composer">http://service.sap.com/s-composer</a>
You can also view the mySAP ERP - as part of the cross-industry maps -  right here:
    <a href="http://service.sap.com/form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000338980&">http://service.sap.com/form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000338980&</a>
The SAP Solution Manager would then come into play for configuring the respective processes (implementing you solution).

  • Business process reg. SAP in retail or multichain sales

    Hi,
Can u tell the business process reg. SAP in retail or multichain sales ?
    RAAJ

    Hello László,
in a nutshell BPM Netweaver is focussing on so called edge-processes (usually
SOA-based and often workflow related). These edge-processes a thought to enhance exisitng core business processes and should provide the fast competitive edge versus competitors. Examples would be also xApps. For this Netweaver provides process modelling tools, where you can get exectuable code through the integration between CE and PI. The monitoring part for these processes is mainly targeting business end-users and business manager.
Business Process Monitoring with Solution Manager focusses on core business processes which are realized with the "conventional", "old"  SAP Architecture, e.g. Order-to-Cash or Procure-to-Pay. You get a combination of technical monitors (average response times of transactions, background job runtimes, monitors for IDOC or qRFC processing) and application related monitors (you get more than 200 pre-configured application monitors out-of-the-box like number of overdue customer orders or outbound deliveries or number of deliveries with goods issue posted but no invoice). The target group here is the support organization of the customer, from Basis-Support over application support on IT side to process owner on business department side.
Overview presentations can be found under
    https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library --> Customer Information -->
    "Business Process Monitoring - Part 1 & 2".
    Or look under https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-processmonitoring
In the end BPM Netweaver and BPMon SolMan are complementary for different purposes and different target groups.

  • Help needed to understand business process irrespective of SAP

    Hello all,
I am an engineer with specialization in electronics and telecommunication. The topic of RFID is thus fascinating for me hence,I have been reading SAP AII for some time now. The components of RFID like tags, readers and communication between them is known to me upto some extend but the business process that SAP AII supports/ implements/ automates are new to me because of which I miss the big picture of SAP AII.
The material I have been reading on SAP AII describes many such process e.g. goods issue, goods return, slap and Ship, logistic process etc. I find it difficult to comprehend these business processes as I think they are described mainly in jargons/ terms (jargon for me) like "delivery processing", "delivery document", "Shipping document", "handling unit", "outbound and inbound process", "goods posting" and numerous similar terms. Moreover I think the explanation is SAP specific.
I feel I should take a top down approach to understand SAP AII and for this I first need to understand the business process in generic/ standard terms. Once they are clear I guess I would be able to understand SAP RFID solution.
I request you all to guide me. Am I taking the right approach? If yes please help me understand the basic business process. Pointers to some good douments or any other resource explaining standard business process will definately help.
    Thank You

    Hi Gaurav,
You are very correct that being a technical person you find difficulty in understanding jargon terms of SAP.
Let me explain you the scenario:
There are two sides to SAP
    1) Functional - Understanding of Business Processes
    Here there are two parts:
    a) Business Process With Respect To SAP AII - These processes generally deals with RFID technology that happens in warehouses, disribution centers and are close to technological world. These deal only with SAP AII
    b) Business Process With Respect To SAP R/3 - These processes deals with SAP AII when integrated with backend systems like SAP R/3, SAP WM or other systems. These talk about the end to end scenario of RFID. Like you pointed out, delivery processing, etc.
Understanding of Core that  is part a above and a bit basics about b will be very helpful.
    2) Technical - Understanding SAP AII
Here also two parts are there:
    a) Understanding RFID as a technology with SAP AII - Deals with understaning technological viewpoints on RFID and mapping it to SAP AII. Example Devices, Tags, Device Controllers, Middlewares and their representation in SAP AII.
    Most important is above part
    b) Understanding Technological part of SAP itself - For example, ABAP, BAPI, BADI etc.
So this is how it works. You are going very correct and follow above things.
Please revert if you have any specific questions.
    Thnks

  • Business Process Modeling for Online Mobile Solutions

    Hi,
I like to know what are the options available for business process modeling for online mobile applications? I feel Guided Procedure can be used for that but one issue is the standard GP Runtime view may  not be suitable for Mobile displays and needs to be modified. Is there any other option available specifically for mobile solutions? Also I read in one article in SCN about a product call Mobile Fast Track (MFT) which is supposed to be delivered on Visual Composer. Is it already available? If yes which release and how to get that?
Any pointers on these will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dipankar

Hi Alvaro Hernán Rojas R ,
The product line is the hierarchy of the finished goods.
It is pertinent that the finished goods has emerged due to some process(es) carried on the raw material.
Thus logically you should map in solution manager based on the process only.
The macro process while depicts the processes at the highest level. The Business scenarios, Business Process gives a good idea about how you should go about configuring. The Steps/activities helps you to map in to SAP thro' T/Codes.
From the point of view of all of the below three, namely,
    Easy configuration activities
Easy design of Unit and integration test
Easy activities of Process enhancement and optimization,
the option   Map the process as ISO Standards
    - Several projects : For each product line, will be most ideal.
It is the processes that drives the activities. The control activities like internal control etc are all process based.Given these, divorcing the business process from the configuration -as in -is certainly not a good practice.
    Hope this helps.

    Ramesh

  • Business process reengineering in SAP?

    Gurus,
what is business process reengineering in SAP?
    pls elaborate with one example?

What is Business Process Re-engineering (BPR)?
Business Process Re-engineering simply implies eliminating tasks that does not add value to a business process while reorganization the value adding tasks. It can also be perceived as a restructuring of redundant dependent tasks or work order. It involves a re-thinking and consequently a re-moulding. In appreciating this concept, it is expedient to view a process as a "chain of tasks". The truth is that in a typical business process, you can have some redundant tasks that if not present does not really have any impact. Such tasks can be eliminated thus streamlining business process.
During ERP implementation, before a business process can be re-engineered, excellent understanding of the defective process is key. This is why it is important to first carry out a critical and objective business process definition and analysis before system design. At this juncture, it is important to state that when restructuring a business process, adherence to best practices is encouraged. This allows the client to be able to leverage the redefined business process externally and not only internally.
For business process reengineering to be successful and consequently, ERP implementation, the buy-in of the end users must be achieved. Often times, I've heard people say "this is how we have been doing it and we like it that way". It is important to convince the process owners why a re-engineering is needed. And the only way to do this is to make the user uncomfortable with his hitherto work methodology. As a matter of fact, setting up of an in-house restructuring team will help to foster users conviction within the organization. The members of the team should cut across all process owners.
Conclusively, the benefits of BPR are enormous. They include the following, but not limited to
    1. Business process is streamlined.
    2. Business process is optimized and more efficient.
    3. Strict controls can be enforced and monitored.
    4. Best practices can be adhered to.
    5. Time and cost saving as a result of eliminated redundant tasks.

But could not find any suitable process related to BW.
I am getting only processes like  Product dev & introduction, sales, procurement, production etc...from BPR. But i am NOT getting business processes for BW related from BPR.
How to select standard Business processes for BW from BPR?
    Plz guide me
    Thanks

    Hi Kathir,
We are having two kind of CD in best practice.
    1. Documentation CD
    2.Configuration CD
Configuration CD is the one, it contains building blocks. This CD will be used to upload the best practices into solution manager. so that it will appear as template in scope.
But for BW, i can not find config CD. means we can not upload best practice in to sol man. Is it so?
    Thanks

  • Business Process Procedure for Internet sales

    thanks in advance
    [email protected]

    Hi Vasanth,
Well in both the cases the generic business process will not be very different.
I mean in both the cases authentication will be there from users.
once you enter into the webshop you will have the options of make inquiry, order, delivery status, billing status
Infact a visit to any webshop like ebay may be of help to you.
You need to take care of folowing details also:
How are incomplete transmissions handled and reconciled?
    How are duplicate transactions reconciled?
What authentication method is used for the customer?
What credentials are passed to SAP?
Are the credentials encoded and triggered within the web?
How are such SAP external credentials stored/ protected?
If storing static credentials by process, are the execute versus read authorities assigned on the web as defined by the operating system (OS)?
Are there considerations made for load balancing?
    Between SAP systems and clients?
    Between web servers?
What roles and responsibilities exist for business processes?
Is IT, through configuration, managing business agreements?
How are changes to the web site tracked and reconciled with SAP transport
    strategies?
Is SAP data stored externally on web servers after extraction?
How is this external SAP data protected?
Does the web server force SAP data to expire?
What are the business and process costs associated with all of the above and is
management aware of the business risk of not taking these steps?
    Hope this helps you.
Do award points if you found them useful.
    Regards,
    Rakesh

  • Agency Business - process modeling in SAP

    Dear Experts,
I need help with the Agency Business. The case is the following:
There are two companies - A (Mother Company) and B (Subsidiary Plant)
Company A negotiates with the Customer.
When the the Customer places an order he makes a payment to company A.
Company A places this order to company B (the plant) and transfers to company B the payment from the customer (the whole amount).
After the order is completed company A issues an invoice to company B for their commission (let say 18 % of the deal).
Company B pays back this amount.
I have entered in company A a vendor billing document from company B - for the whole amount which company A should pay to company B. The calculation schema is RM6001. And I have used condition RL03 to enter the commission percentage.
As far as I understand, the next step should be to issue a remuneration list to company B for the commission. However, in the remuneration list appears the whole amount from the vendor billing document and the remuneration condition is 0. Obviously, I am not doing the things right.
I am not sure that I have understood very well the process in Agency Business. Please, advise how shall I proceed.

  • Business Process Flow for old records

A customer has asked us to decommission the Business Process Flow for a particular security role.
I have done this and all is well for new records.
Unfortunately the Process Bar still appears for old Leads.  I think I can understand the behaviour: if you change the process, the old records will still show process bar that existed at the time they were created.  This includes removing it presumably.
My question is, can I remove the legacy instances of the process bar either through the interface or by code?

Update: I created a command line to update the stageid and processid to NULL.
These fields are now clear, however when I open an affected record the form pops up an error message:
