Standard Content Roles and BW content

Does anyone have any information that shows the standard Portal roles and the associated standard BI Content queries that are included in each role?
The BI content on sap.com lists some roles, but those are BW roles as opposed to portal roles. We're looking mainly at CRM marketing roles and need to determine which standard queries apply to which roles on the portal.

in a clean portal there are no BI roles...
Check the description of the Business Packages which is to be found in the <a href="http://help.sap.com">SAP Help</a> or here in the Portal Content Portfolio under SAP NetWeaver >> Portal in the left hand navigation.

How do I create Outgoing Mail Policie,Outgoing content filters and individual content filters?

IronPort C160.
async OS 6.5.3
Server 1 and server 2 are communicating through ironport.( and also scanning)
Server 1 we have setup domain abc.lk and yy.abc.lk in same server, this reside on DMZ. same segment ironport is connected,
Server 2: we have setup separate server int.abc.lk which is resided on internal lan.
Server 1 and server 2 should have to communicate internally, but server2 should not communicate to outside the world (eg. [email protected])
How do I create "Outgoing Mail Policies, Outgoing content filters and the individual content filters?
Note: Now server 1 and server2 are communicating internal and also communicating external ([email protected]), I need server 2 not to communicate external ([email protected]) it should be block and also do not block server 2 communicating to server1

I think the simplest solution is to create a filter that allows server 2 (based on it's IP) to communicate with the internal domains, and drop the messages when they are targeted to any other domain
so:
filter source IP = servers
condition: message to: is NOT abc.lk or yy.abc.lk
action: drop message

BI Content Roles and Authorizations

Hi All,
We just installed a BW system and trying to activate the Business Content. But its giving some authorization issues.
Can anyone please give the list of transactions/roles/profiles/authorizations that needs to be added to my user id so as to install all the Business Contents available.
PS: Basis is not giving me SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW because of internal issues.

Federated portal's, cann't see the roles and portal content from producer

We are configuring a Federated Portal, with a Producer EP7.0 SP13 and a Consumer EP7.0 SP13. The connection test is successful.
I can see the producer on the consumer and the consumer on the producer.
The problem is that I can not see the portal content of the producer in the portal content of the consumer. The producer roles are also not available on the consumer. I have selected the producer as the data source in the consumer UME,
then enter * in the role name field, then select "go", but nothing comes up.
Can anybody help me?

Following might be the reason:
1. User should exist in both user store of Consumer and Producer portal otherwise it wont work.
2. Incase if the registration is successful then there might be some problem with your servers (Consumer & Producer) clock timings.
3. Remote Role Assignment may get fail perhaps because user to whom remote role assignment is done doesnt have End User role assigned to him/her at Producer Portal. End-user permission enables business users to run content at runtime. Just as end users require end-user permission to run local content on your portal, they also need end-user permission for local content originating from a remote producer.
4. You should have Owner permission in the objects to which you want to assign permissions otherwise Remote Role Assignment wont work.
5. In the portal content studio, open the producer under 'NetWeaver content producers'. If it does not contain folders in it, the registration is considered to be unsuccessful even though it stated it was successful while registration.
6. During the process of Registering (Adding) Producer Portal, while entering the connection parameters of the NetWeaver producer portal use appropriate Host name against Host Name input field instead of IP address. Perhaps this might create some problem during execution in later stage.
e.g. Host Name: use sapProducerportal02 instead of 172.19.144.155

Lost DVD SP4 Content Disk and lost Content

My brother was some how fooling around with my mac pro, and deleted the dvd studio content and emptied the trash....When i went to reload it unfortuantely we found I had lost the content disk...I h ave a friend with the non universal version of the program....my question is this:
Is it possible to load the non universal content onto my hard drive even though i'm using an intel based machine and have the universal version of FCP? thanks!

Difference Between "Content Server" and "Content Services"

Can someone tell me the difference between "Oracle Content Server" and "Oracle Content Services"? From my research, I get the sense that
these are different products (and Oracle Content Services seems like it's an obsolete one), but I would like some confirmation.

Content Services is what you had with Content DB, Oracles old product.
Content Server is the core engine of the UCM product, formerly Stellent Content Server.

Business Explorer Roles and Authorizations

Hi,
I am using Business Explorer Query Designer and Analyzer ( Excel Work book add on) with BI 7.0.
I need to create roles and authorizations for the end users to create queries and view queries in excel by using Business Explorer Query Analyzer.
Kindly suggest me what are the standard transactions, roles and authorizations to be given to the end users.

If its bw 3.X i jusz used rrmx --->>excel ->addins-->>queries --->pop up window --->here we need rfs object S_RFC
Finally rrmx tcode and general roles which has S_RFC autorisation object and the query .

Finding Information About User Privileges and Roles
This section discusses the system views that have the grant information.
The tricky part of this is that because roles can be granted to other roles the data is hierarchical.
So start with the grants made to the FDIREADR role. So referring to the doc above;
select * from role_role_privs where role = 'FDIREADR'will list the roles granted to your role.
You will want to look at ROLE_ROLE_PRIVS, ROLE_TAB_PRIVS and ROLE_SYS_PRIVS.
I suggest you walk thru the views manually to see how the information is related. Then write a test script that queries the views for you.

BW Standard Content Roles

Hey Everyone,
Does anyone out there have any material that discusses/covers the different standard content roles available in BW? I have a customer who is interested in using the standard content roles as a basis for discussion/design of their BW org. structure (i.e. query designer vs. report user vs. data architect, etc.). Unfortunately, I have been unable to find any material that really addresses this topic, so I thought I'd give the SDN forums a shot.

You have the following options for gaining an overview of the delivered roles:
· In the SAP Easy Access menu, choose Tools->Administration->User Maintenance ->Information System ->Roles ->Roles by complex selection criteriaand then Execute.
· In role maintenance (Tools ->Administration-> User Maintenance->Roles), choose the entry help for the Role field.
If you want to adjust the existing role, copy the corresponding default role and modify the copy.
If you do not find suitable roles, write job descriptions before beginning your work in role maintenance (see also Initial Installation Procedure).
Either have all maintenance tasks performed centrally by a single superuser, or distribute the maintenance tasks to several users to increase system security. For more information, see Organization of the Authorization Administration

Roles and queries Technical content cube

Dear Experts,
Is anyone aware of any technical content cube that has information about roles and which queries those roles have access to?
ie. I need Roles - Query mapping
I have already looked in to AGR_1251 table but here the direct value is not present. I will have to evaluate the S_RS_COMP and
S_RS_COMp1 authorization objects. Iam looking for another method. So please dont suggest AGR_1251 table.

Hi Kris,
The way that is there to find out the query - mapping details is already known to you which is the best possible way. But apart from that if you would like to know the roles present in your system then you can simply use the Metadata Repository that is already there and is easily accessible.
1) Just go to the RSA1-> Left hand side bottom -> Metadata Repository -> Click on it or use tcode RSORMDR.
2) You will get list for all the Activated objects in your production system.
3) Locate the Role object from Right hand side.
4) On clicking the Role you will get all the roles that have been created in your system.
If you want the role related to a query then you can simply select the Query object from the metadata repository, you will get list of all queries & further clicking on the query will give you entire details about the query like roles etc.
Also you can use your own method.
You will need to write your own abap to get the details by writing logic which compares the data from both the tables and displays the data accordingly else the best option that is always there is using Metadata Repository.

Display portal role and content

We have portal support people that support many other users. To support these users with live problems, they need to be able to see the portal navigation and content that their supported users see. They don't need to actually run transactions, they just need to see the content etc. In most cases, these support people do not perform these other roles, so these other tabs (50+) are not on the support people's top-level navigation.
Any thoughts on how to do this? It would be great if some sort of application could dynamically display a role and all it's portal content.

Hiding standard search and standard checkin form from UCM content UI

Hi ,
We want to hide standard checkin and standard search from content ui .
Is this possible ? How do we achieve this?
From the admin UI we can do this by enabling the component HideStandardCheckinAndSearch component.
But how do we do it from Content UI?

It depends on what you're trying to achieve. If your users do not want to see standard check-in option in the displayed user interface then you'll have to customize the ADF UI to do so. Implement some sort of ruling feature to display menus. Link suggested by Jiri is good starting point and standard way to customize ADF UI as per documentation.
Regarding implementing filter or any customization on server-side can be viewed as 2 different parts
1. implement profile rule and hide menus - this works for native UI and not content UI. Since content UI is a different EAR deployed on weblogic and page generation is not controlled by CS or any of its configuration parameter.
2. implement filter or other custom option - this kind of feature will help you to prohibit feature execution; but, user will still be accessible to access the search option. This implementation will be not user-friendly. Once users enter some value we display message that feature is not supported. So this option should be your last resort.

Roles and authorizations in BI content

Hi experts,
I'm trying to define a very simple scheme of roles and authorizations for my queries.
So, i'm trying to limit the acess by infocube and DSO, but I'm missing the authorizations objects for Cube and DSO.
I know that authorization object for queries it's S_RS_COMP.
So my roles would be something like

One role that allows me to execute queries, workbooks, etc.
A second role, dependent on the area of work, that should allow me only to have access to queries from cubes/MP/DSO that are specific to users area.
I will then give each user role 1 + the adequate role 2, depending on their work area.

I then gave to my test user this 2 roles, and with that user I can still see every infoarea, and access all reports.
I will have more specific roles u2013 to other areas (SCM, TV, etc), but I chose this one has an example.
First question I have: can I manage my requirement in 2 different roles: one for action that can be performed (role 1) and other for areas that they can access data from (role 2)?
What objects/restrictions am I missing in role 2?

Roles included in Roles and how it effects User Content

I want to have one role which generates a tab called "Budget Development" under this tab depending on the users other assigned roles I want from 1 to 3 addition tabs or selections to appear. Based opn user assigned Roles
When I create 3 additional roles, and assign them to the Parent Role (Budget Development) all 3 tabs appear evenif the addional roles are not assigned to the user.
Role 1 "Budget Development"
            Role 1.1 "Budget Add"
            Role 1.2 "Budget Change"
            Role 1.3 " Budget Delete"
I have access to all 3 tabs/selection and the functionality when I am assigned the 1 role of "Budget Development"
How do I selectivly Display Sub-Roles based on Portal Roles and permissions etc.

Hi Sarah,
             You can achieve this by the 'Merged Role Concept'.
1)Create 3 roles with the same name say "Budget Development" which will have different ID's though.
-Under the role properties set the "Merge ID" for each role. The mergeID has to be the same for all the 3 roles.
2) Now create 3 worksets say "Budget Add", "Budget Change" and " Budget Delete".
- and assign each of these worksets to 3 different roles that we have first defined.
Now depending upon which user needs what access you can assign the roles. The user will see one role but different worksets underneath based upon what he has been assigned.
