Can anybody let me know the standard BI contents as wel as Datasources for capturing Merchandise Category Retail in BW?

Classification for Merchandise Category

Hi all,
I am an MM consultant but new to Retail. I am trying to set up classification for Merchandise category. I have created a characteristic profile and i assigned some characteristics in this profile (e.g ingredients, size, etc). Then i went to WG22 and assigned the characteristic profile to the merchandise category.
My issue now, is from where do i enter the values that i want for each merchandise category (i.e the ingredients, size, etc). As i have read, directly in each article you cannot. In CL20N you cannot as the class is of type 026 (internal).
Where do i do this?

HI, let me describe what i did and which are my issues
1. I have created the characteristics and assigned the possible values
2. Then i though about two options:
     a) to create a characteristic profile and assign the characteristics to it
     b) assign the characteristics in the Hierarchy directly
3. I did both and my issues are:
     a) in the 1st option how i assign values to an article? i want each article of the merchandise category to be assigned to various values.
     b) in the 2nd option, i assigned the characteristis to the hierarchy (and thus to the merchandise category) and through MM42 i assgined the values to the articles. In that case my issue is during the search of an article based on the characteristics. There i select as a class the hierarchy and then i have to select the specific merchandise category in order to find articles, otherwise no results appear. Isn't it possible to find all articles of an hierarchy with specific characteristic value?

Where to download the standard content for SRM to import to PI 7.4

Hi experts:
i am implementing the MM-SUS by PI. My SRM is 7.03 and PI is 7.04.
i have not implement this before. When i configure the PI Integration repository ,it need to import the Standrad Content for SRM.
My question is where i can find the standard content to download, can anyone help me with more detail? thanks a lot!

Merchandise Category creation for Generic Article in SAP IS-Retail

Hi,
Can anyone help me out to with clear and complete process and settings i have to maintain for merchandise category for generic article for shoes of our client. I created merchandise category with the below transaction codes
ct04,clwe,clwe,clw1 and wg21 but when i used to create generic article i have to find characteristics in variants tab in basic data view in mm41 but i didn't find it.

Standard search help problem with merchandise category

Hi,
I am not sure if i am posting into the right forum. Any hints would help.
The transaction RWBE is run on ECC6 and a search help is triggered for merchandise category (first field).
A second screen appears to enter the range..I just press enter and it gives me a range of value to select from.
It works fine.
But the same transaction is called in our Portal and the search help goes for a short dump when pressing enter from the second screen.
I debugged both ECC and portal for this transaction and found that the function module TABCONTROL_RETRIEVE_SEL_OPTS is returning different values that is causing the short dump in portal.
The value of the parameter for select_options is returned as

if you see the option is returned as IQ and hence causing the short dump.
I am not able to find out how this value is returned. Because if you see inside the above function module, another function module DP_GET_TABLE returns the above value. But when i debug it, i am directed to DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET fm and hence not able to understand how the above values are retrieved.
Any help would be rewarded.

Merchandise category & hierarchy upload using LSMW???

I am trying to upload Merchandise category and hierarcy using LSMW (BAPI/IDOC method only).
For merhcandise category
I used message type W_WGRP and it is helping me in changing or reclassification of articles. But I am not able to create new merchandise category with this. I used structure E1BPE1WGR01 with "function" field with value "005, LSMW is working fine idocs are created successfully but no new Merc Cat is created.
When I used same structure with "function" field with value "009" I get error message "Class XXX does not exist or or is not valid on this date".
For Merchandise Catrgory Hierarchy
I used idoc CLSMAS but getting error message "Keyword missing for class XXX"
has anybody uploded entire hierarchy structure using LSMW ?

Sorry to say, but your problem is not resolved.
In IS-Retail, a merchandise category must first be created as a class (CLSMAS) and then also as a merchandise category (W_WGRP). Yes, you must process two IDoc per merchandise category, and in that order.
To understand how to load data using LSMW, the best approach to watch what the system does naturally. In this case, use T-Code WGSE to send the merchandise category hierarchy via ALE from one system-client to another. For understanding, you needn't configure the entire ALE scenario, just the outbound portion. Then watch the outbound IDocs be created; there's your example!
For merchandise category hierarchy (including merchandise categories), there are four message types that will be sent: W_WGRP, CHRMAS, CLFMAS, and CLSMAS.
IDoc Serialization using message types (serialization groups) is used when several different message types are dependent on each other, as is the case here. For example, if a merchandise category is assigned to a merchandise category hierarchy level, the merchandise category hierarchy level must first exist. How you use LSMW and IDocs is informed by the sequence.
To understand the IDoc sequence for creating the merchandise category hierarchy (including merchandise categories), use T-Code BD44 to view the Serialization Group GRP_W_WGRP includes the 4 desired message types in sequence:
CHRMAS04 Distr. of Characteristics with Dependencies and Long Texts
CLFMAS02 Master object classification
CLSMAS04 Classes with Long Texts, Document Links, and E1UPSLINK
W_WGRP01 Distribution of material groups
CHRMAS04 is only relevant of Characteristics are being assigned to merchandise categories. Let us leave Characteristics aside for now.
Step 1: Create Merchandise Category Hierarchy Nodes
Step 2: Merchandise Categories - Create as a Class
Step 3: Merchandise Categories - Change as a Retail MC
Step 4: Merchandise Categories - Assign Category Hierarchy Nodes each other, and assign MC class to MCH node.
For this, use these messages:

Step 2: CLSMAS04
Step 3: W_WGRP01
Step 4: CLFMAS02

There isn't a lot of standard content for Solution Manager. It's mostly alerts, server, module, database and overall system information for the environments connected to that Solution Manager instance. The standard DataSources are:

There are several InfoCubes, one for each DataSource in the standard content. These InfoCubes are then unioned in a standard content MultiProvider.

Write Optimzed DSO - Standard content?

Hello
SAP Recommends to use Write optimized DSO as the first DSO to stage data from the source system.
All SAP standard content for now has the standard DSOs. for example, for AR data flow, the dso available from SAP is a standard DSO.
Do we replace all these standard DSOs for different subject areas that we wish to activate with write optimized??

Hi,
The objective is to use a EDW layer which is dumping an exact copy of the data as in source system for which we have to use Write-optimized DSO as the first layer then procees on with the normal architecture after that. The write optimized DSO has only one table due to which actiavtion step is reduced and hence reducing time for the extra layer. You can have the same structure of your standard DSO and even add additional field and set it write optimized in the settings and proceed on the further data model.

My problem is in regard to the Merchandise Category Reclassification in SAP IS-Retail.
My senario was that there were some Merchandise categories(MC) which were unallocated i.e they were not assigned to any Merchandise Cat. Heirarchy.
Also there was a Merchandise Category (90000001) MC_Common, which was a collection of articles that were not assigned to other MC, there were miscllanious.
But now, the above mentioned MC and articles in MC_Common have been assigned to their correct heirarchy or MC's.
What I want is, the old billing documents, which contained the articles with their old Merchandise Cat. no. gets changed such that the old merchandise cat. being displayed against the article reflects my new merchandise cat. assignment no. Without creating any new billing document.
How to go for it.

I have not come across "ext merch category" terminology in IS-Retail and i think there is no such Field .
Can you specifically say on which Tcode you have came across ???
There is one field called "Vendor Art. Grp" in Article Master which is used for maintaining Merchandise Category of your External Vendor.

Problem with Outbound Interface for Party in Standard XI Content for SNC

Hi All,
I am configuring a standard XI Content for SNC, the ASN Processing (DIMP ERP Backend). The provided Integration scenario involves three swim lanes which corresponds to an ERP, SCM and an external system. The external system is as an application component that is designed for B2B communication, i.e. a service with party which is called Supplier.
The first action within the scenario is Create ASN in the Supplier swim lane and send a message to the action "Receive ASN and update inventory(in transit)" within the SCM system swim lane. I have created a sender party that corresponds to the Supplier swim lane and also a receiver party that corresponds to the SCM system. I used the Integration Scenario Configurator to assign services and also all the comm. channel. However, when i try to generate the logical routing objects and collaboration agreements, i get the error message that there was no outbound interface associated with the sender(the external system) defined for the first action. There is no option within the Integration Scenario Configurator on how to assign/define the outbound interface that I want to use for the sender.
I have no idea how to assign the outbound interface to the action for the Supplier swim lane in an Integration Scenario that is from an XI Content. Has anybody configured something similar or come across the same problem? Any info will be much appreciated.

This could be the problem of confilting namespace or combinations.
in receive action just check that right message interface is configured at Inbound side.
just check any place void ?
1)just check the name as case sensitive.
2)Just check is there interface belongs to right software component.
3)Just check mapping assigned to the right combination or not.
its better to cross check all the component are assigned to right place or not.

Discount for entire Merchandise category

I am trying to create a promotion ie, i want to give 5% discount for entire Merchandise category, while am doing this am getting this error 'No suitable items were selected for discount activation' can any one explain step by step how to do this type of promotion

Nice to meet you on SDN.. to give discount to entire Merch Cate, you can directly assing the merch cat. into the promotion and there you can specify what kind of discount.. absolute or percentage discount. In % discount col, give 5% , this will get applicable to entire merch cate.

I just wanted to know that if there are any report(s) involving Cost element categories. Say for example, if the cost element category is provided the report fetches the cost elements associated with the category and the documents posted.

Hi,
There is no standard report based on cost element category, but of course, you can use, for example, KSB5 and give the selection of the cost elements you want to present. I presume, you have different number range for each category and it could be easily distinguished in the selection screen.
