Standard delivered OSA templates
Hello. I have created a template using the SAP standard example: Performance Feedback. In looking at the form, I do not understand why their is a part appraisal for appraiser and appraisee and also a final appraisal. Can someone share as to why this is so? Thanks
This seems to be a typical management by objectives (MbO)-template: appraisals take place during the year starting with a phase where people set objectives and later on in the year have a final appraisal. Sometimes people are also appraised by other then their manager (eg. peers, higher managers, clients etc.). In that case other (part) appraisers are used in the template, all of which can be customized in the backend (HR).

Best practices / preferred usage of SAP standard (delivered) roles
Dear Experts,
When going about designing roles for a new system, what is the preferred usage on SAP standard/delivered roles? I was thinking of using them as a "base", then tweaking auth objects here and there to make the roles work but the more I work with them, I find it may be better to create roles entirely from scratch. A lot of the time, I find a lot of inactivated auth objects or objects that seem to not really be needed when looking at the t-codes offered in the menu (S_TCODE).
In that case, I figured it might be cleaner if I started creating roles and adding t-codes via the Menu and maintaining only the auth objects that are proposed in PFCG (and adding a few if necessary).
Do people typically build their roles around these the standard SAP role set or is it preferred to create your own and only use the SAP standard roles as reference (i.e. the t-codes offered in the menu, etc.)?

Those are provided by SAP as a reference so that you can consult with the Authorization Structure of a Standard Position / Task for which you are going to create your own role. For e.g. what are the TCodes, values of Objects should be given to users for their tasks.

Absolutely! Please do not use SAP delivered roles for you use and also don't try to alter any values.

Standard SAP Adobe Template in Adobe Interactive form
Hi folks,
Does any one knows how to import a standard SAP Adobe template (for eg :- PR template or SO create template) which is given by SAP into Adobe Interactive form UI element in Webdynpro perspective. I tried opening Adobe Interactive element by editing it and tried for import a std adobe template but I did not see any option to do so.

if you are involved in an SAP-internal project, which includes the development of a form, there are probably internal ways to do that.
If you need any of the official customer-ready forms we ship, you would need access to a mySAP ERP 2004 system and try and get one of the print forms out of that system. SAP is currently not providing any of their official forms outside the respective application.
As for your second question, first a clarification: The template as such is not in the system as PDF, but in a format called XDP. The PDF is the generated document that includes the system data.
Calling another system via BAPI and RFC is supported as part of the Web Dynpro for Java framework, and obviously in ABAP. As you need to define a form context to determine where your data for the form comes from, this data can come from other systems using BAPI/RFC. This is SAP functionality supported in SAP NetWeaver '04.

1.Go to SE71 and enter the SAP standard layout set F110_PRENUM_CHK. Copy this layout set into custom SAP script starting with Z.
( it will be easy to copy from standard layout set instead of creating SAP script).
2. Then change the copied layout as per the custom requirement.
3. Then go to FBZP transaction and in the payment methods for company code, find the company code click on "Paylink Cheques" and assign the custom form name here.
Once you are ok with the format and test the form otherwise go to sap script form and do the changes in layout.
4. Check print program name is RFFOUS_C. Go to SE38 and the run the program RFFOUS_C. There you can see all the form names used for check printing.

Brazil - SAP Standard Delivered Rule / Config for R/3 ?

I have recently come across an issue with updating a Brazilian employees IT0008 - Basic Pay screen. I was trying to modify the start date of the screen (BEGDA) to reflect a date other than the 1st of the month. When I attempt to do this though I get a hard stop error message.
I was told that this rule / hard stop error message in R/3 when trying to update IT8 for Brazil employees was as standard delivered SAP rule.
I am trying to validate if that is the case, and if so if anyone can give me more details on this SAP delivered rule / functionality.
If it's not a SAP delivered, but something my company has put in place perhaps, is there a way to find out in R/3 where this rule is set-up/referenced in order to remove it potentially to allow for IT8 Begda changes for Brazil ?
Any help on this matter would be much appreciated and rewarded with points.

Testing standard delivered "example objective setting"
Hello. I am new to OSA and just wanted to test the standard SAP to see how OSA works. I have changed nothing in the supplied category group, xategory, template etc. My understanding is that this example is supposed to be for 2 part appraisers to do the appraisal followed by a final appriasal. In creating a document based on this template, the form goes into "in process / part appraisal in process". When I try to log on as the "part appraiser" all fields are display only. What am I missing since I have changed no configuration? Thanks for any insights

For the part appraiser to rate a criterion, the "column access" for the part appraiser should be set to "change" in the template definition. In many cases the part appraiser is merely allowed to approve the ratings of the previous appraiser and hence the part appraiser gets just a "display" of ratings.
To allow the part appraiser to change or enter new ratings, the column access should be set to "change".
To check the kind of column access given to the part appraiser go to PHAP_CATALOG and check the template for column access. -
Delete standard fields from template repository
Hello,
We've created a repository based on standard repository template, which contains several fields that we don't use and we want to delete.
The problem appears after deleting different standard fields like:
MDMSRM_PRICE_INFORMATION
MDMSRM_CONTRACT_PRICE
As it seems the system is using these fields when displaying the catalog into the portal through iviews.
I've checked the UI Configuration into the web finished with .../MDM_SRM_UI_App, but I cannot find the fields I've deleted anywhere.
I've been reading different threads on this forum, but I'm not sure if I need to delete the deleted fields from an XML structure.
If I have to modify any file, where can I get the file to be updated?
If not, how should I proceed?

Are you looking forward to 1. Revert back the fields which you have deleted or
2. Remove the fields from the XML data structure.
If (1) - Check the Note: 1171711 where you will find a PDF attached about the repository information which gives you more details about the fields which are available so that you can manually adjust your repository by adding those fields accordingly.
If (2) - In the configuration screen, provide your user credentials by selecting the repository and click "Transport Configuration" button where you can get the XML file to view the fields and edit the file by removing those fields and update back to it.
Note: SAP doesn't recommend you to delete fields from its delivered repository. Especially its price fields. So try to achieve your solution without deleting it if you can.

Decimal places in standard input schedule templates
Hi Gurus
I have created some input schedules using standard template. User here will be entering some values in 2 decimal places (like 1.25) but when I enter any values in the cells, it automatically round off the values and displays values without any decimal places.
I have tried changing the formats in Format control panel by changing the DATA / DEFAULT 's PATTERN / ALL for ROWs but it did not help.
Please help how to resolve this.

Customize Standard Purchase Order template
We have requirement to customize the 'Standard Purchase Order Stylesheet', XSL template. I am trying to follow the below approach;
1. Use standard oracle template 'PO_STANDARD_XSLFO.xsl' and customize it as per client requirements.
2. Create a template definition 'XX Custom Purchase Order stylesheet' similar to 'Standard Purchase Order Stylesheet' in 'Purchasing' responsibility and upload my custom template.
3. Navigate to Purchasing Super User > Setup > Purchasing > Document Types > 'Purchase Order Standard' > Update Document Type layout > replace 'Standard Purchase Order Stylesheet' with 'XX Custom Purchase Order stylesheet'.
Please let me know if i have missed any steps.
Appreciate your time.Another approach is to create a new RTF using the tags generated by the PO Output for Communication program. The tags are generated by the columns in the PO_XXX_XML views.
