Standard DS parameters

Hi expert,
I'd like some information about standard Datasource.
I'm using on my BW 7.0 the 0CRM_SALEA_ACT_1 and its parameters is the following:
Direct access = D
Delta process = AIMD after-images....
Delta update = ?X'
These DS configuration consent me to extract only in delta mode?
Can I execute with this DS a full mode too?

Crystal Report with standard Input-Parameters in InfoView

Hi there,
i've created a crystal report which has non-optional input parameters, e.g, Date from ... Date to ...
I've managed to fill this parameter with standard parameters if the user does not choose a value. e.g. date is today - 14 days.
If i start the report in crystal and do not enter a input-parameter, it gets it input parameer automatically, see:
(if not hasvalue({?PARA_TA_von}) then ({PW_BO_HU_TA.LTAP-WDATU}>=CurrentDate-14) else ({PW_BO_HU_TA.LTAP-WDATU}>={?PARA_TA_von}))
It works perfectly in crystal. But if i start the Report in Webintelligence Infoview, it doesn't work and i get the message to enter the input-parameters....
Any idea ?

Hi Ingo,
I have tried the sample reports and other crystal reports created with data sources other than SAP which all work fine. The problem happens on all clients and the server when running reports with SAP data source.
I did find an error in the Tomcat logs.
[/SAP].[jsp] Thread [http-8080-Processor24]; Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/crystaldecisions/Utilities/LengthLimitedDataInputStream
I did manage to run one report which had 4 records but the other reports which vary from 432 - 2500 records return the error found in the tomcat logs.
I will be installing BOE XI 3.1 on my desktop to see if the still issue occurs in this release.

Unable to select parameters when SSRS 2008R2 report is deployed

I have over one hundred reports deployed to a stand alone SSRS2008R2 server. For almost all of the reports, the standard report parameters are:
DBName (an internal parameter used for an embedded connection string)
Date Range (pre-set date selections such as Last Week, Current Month, Last Quarter, etc)
Location (integer value)
Beginning Date
Ending Date (both dates use the output of Date Range as the default but can be overridden.
The reports have always deployed and have worked using these parameters and sometimes other parameters with no problems for years. I just deployed a new report that uses the same 5 parameters that the other reports use and only those 5 parameters.
The only difference is that instead of Location passing an integer value, it passes a text value (CHAR(8) specifically). When the report is deployed to the server, the Date Range parameter appears and allows the user to select a Date Range but
none of the other parameters show any values and do not allow the user to select a value. The odd thing is that if I change the DataSource to use a specific database and run it on Report Manager through Report Builder, it works fine. When I run
it directly on Report Manager, it does not work. It also does not work when run via the site it is deployed to. I have run SQL Profiler and all it shows is that the stored procedure for the Date Range parameter is run successfully. I also
cannot see anything telling in the Reporting Services log and there is nothing special about the ASP.NET code related to the report. I have spent over 12 hours on this issue and am truly stumped.
Any ideas on how to fix this? This needs to fixed urgently.

According to your description, you have more than one hundred reports with 5 parameters in SSRS 2008 R2, the reports works fine. You deployed a new report to report server, it has same parameters except data type of location is text. When you run the report,
only Date Range parameter is displayed and allows users to select values from drop down list. If you specify a database and run the report use report builder, the report works fine.
In Reporting Services, we can use dynamic data source through an expression-based connection string. To troubleshoot this problem, please refer to the following steps:
The dynamic database connection string can only be used with an embedded data source, we could not use it with a shared data source.
Specify credentials separately from the connection string.
Make sure there is corresponding values for the parameters in the database.
Verify the connection string and values of parameter DBName is correct.

1. First create the standard texts what u required by going SO10 Tcode.
2. Go to SE 10 Tcode select modify then click on display button.
3. Double click on your CTS no then click on change button pass the required standard text parameters.
R3TR <Standard text name> < object id> < language>
Ex:    R3TR znlatit   ST E
u can pass upto 25 standard text in this way.
                                   Or
Create manual cts and attach all the standard texts to the cts and then realease the cts.
4. Now u can transport along with the layout itself.

Providing init parameters to a servlet portal component

I'm creating a portalcomponent based on a servlet. So I have the following declaration in my portalapp.xml:

Now I want to provide standard init-parameters (as defined in a servlets' web.xml) to this servlet, but I can't find any documentation describing how to do this. Standard profile parameters do not get through to the ServletConfig or ServletContext.
Any help will be appreciated.

How to trigger standard FPM events through coding.

While a standard FPM event triggers, it carries out with some event parameters which are automatically filled and is taken care by standard program.
I have a requirement to raise a standard event manually, but in this case, the standard event parameters are not filled.
Can any one tell me if there is any way through which I can get the event parameters automatically by raising a standard fpm event manually.

There is no any such method to fill the event parameters automatically while we raise standard fpm event manually. You have to fill the parameters accordingly before you raise fpm event manually.

Importing from iMovie 06, lose capture dates

When I import old iMovie 06 movies, the capture dates gets lost. Here is one of the original clips in iMovie 06:
However, after importing in iMovie 11, the capture dates are lost. I tried many variations, like import the iMovie 06 project, or cd to the *.iMovieProject directory and import the actual clips, etc.
Now, good iMovie11 clips have the capture date imbedded in the file name (as in clip-2010-03-14 hh;mm;ss.dv). However, the ones imported from iMovie 06 end up in iMovie 11 with simple names such as clip55.dv. So it's not surprising I cannot see the capture dates in iMovie 11.
So I looked inside the *.iMovieProject directory hoping to find the capture dates either in the file name or in a plist, but I couldn't (nothing in the plists below)

Finally, I opened Clip55.dv in QuickTime and looked at MovieInspector, but I could not see any capture date (similar to exif in jpegs).
So obviously I missed them. My question is where in the iMovie 06 project can I find them? If accessible, I can write a script to fix the clips imported in iMovie11 by changing their names. I tried it manually, and it worked.

Hi - Couple of things.
Click on the offending clip that you imported from iMovie in your FCP Bin and type Command + 9 to see the item properties. Either report those item properties, or if easier, take a screen shot of the item properties and post that.
Then click any where on the timeline you are having trouble with and type Command + 0 (Zero) to see the sequence settings. Either report those settings or take a screen shot of the Sequence Settings window and post that.
In order for FCP to use the video without rendering, both the items properties of the source clip, and the sequence settings must match - and both must be within standard production parameters.
Also, you can click on the source clip in the FCP Bin, then control-click on the clip and select Reveal in Finder from the drop down menu. Once that file is revealed, open it in Quicktime 7 and see if if plays correctly there.

Set up activities with PP-PI

I'm trying to transfer recipes from ECC to APO, but I have a problem when creating set up activities. In APO they are not being created. I belive is that in the resource there is no formula to calcule the set up time. And there is no place for more formulas.
How can I create set up activities in APO when transferring the recipes??

Dear Fernando,
In Resource master we can define a maximum of 6 Standard value parameter. Also we can add multiple capacity categories. You can define formulas for using these parametersfor each capacity category.
The values for the Standard value parameters can be entered in Master recipe. If the particular Operation/Activity is relevant for scheduling the operations are transferred to APO as PPM or PDS.

Take care about the failed login attempts. If you set it to 10 to the default profile, and if your DBSNMP password is NOT the default password, then Oracle will lock your account after node discovery!
In Solaris, you can disable execution of the user stack with the system parameters set noexec_user_stack=1
set noexec_user_stack_log=1. I did not find how to do it on AIX. However, those settings may have side effects.
About the ports, it complains about open ports, even if this is the port oracle listener is using! Simply ignore most of the violations there.
About JAccelerator (NCOMP), it is located on the "companion" CD.

What is the point of revoking UTL_FILE from PUBLIC? Yes I know what you think the point is, but without rights on an Oracle DIRECTORY being able to execute UTL_FILE is useless. Unless of course you're still using the init.ora parameter

As for UTL_SMTP and UTL_TCP, I think whether a program is allowed to send e-mail to a given SMTP server is really in the remit of the e-mail adminstrator rather than the DBA.
Look, DBAs are kings of their realm and can set their own rules. The rest of us have to live with them. A couple of years ago I worked a project where I was not allowed access to the USER_DUMP_DEST directory. So every time I generated a TRC file I had to phone up the DBA and a couple of hours later I got an e-mail with an attachment. Secure yes, but not very productive when I was trying to debug a Row Level Security implementation.
I have worked on both sides of the DBA/Developer fence and I understand both sides of the argument. I think it is important for developers to document all the privileges necessary to make their app run. Maybe you don't have a better way of doing that than revoking privileges from PUBLIC. Or maybe you just want to generate additional communication with developers. That's fine. I know sometimes even DBAs get lonely.

Variable Transport Binding - Soap Sender

Hello all,
I'm trying to retrieve a parameter from the HTTP header of a SOAP request.
I have created a SOAP sender communication channel, checked "Set Adapter-Specific Message Attributes" and "Variable Transport Binding", and entered the name of the parameter in Variable Header (XHeaderName1).
When I send the SOAP request, DynamicConfiguration exists with all standard parameters, but there is no XHeaderName1...
If I try the same with sender HTTP adapter, it works fine.
In the other way, if the dynamic configuration parameter XHeaderName1 already exists, and I try to add it in a HTTP header parameter in a receiver SOAP CC, that works.
Does somebody know why this doesn't work in the sender one?

I can see in dynamic configuration, with the namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP, the standard HTTP parameters like SServerHost, SRemoteUser, etc...
But if I add a HTTP header parameter in the SOAP request, and I try to retrieve it with the SOAP sender CC, the parameter is not added in the dynamic configuration. If the name of the added HTTP header parameter is "TestParam", I put "TestParam" in the XHeaderName1 field of the sender CC, but the value is not added in the dynamic configuration. This is my problem.

Try to keep aggregated data in DSO. this improves performance greatly.

Here I would say you take care of transformation more which greatly affect the design.
Try to have minimum possible loops in the routines.
Make routines only if required.
Keep all select statements in Start routines and not the routines of UR.
try use std SAP function modules as much as possible.
These will certainly help you improve the performance.

Well, those modules are known trouble makers. "DDR3-1333" is an overclocked rating to begin with (they are actually just DDR3-1066 sticks) and they require 1.8V (0.3V above DDR3 industry standard). Search for "OCZ3P13332GK" in the OCZ Forum. You will find 133 threads, most of them about stability problems on all kinds of different systems.

XMP Profiles are overclocking profiles. Where those modules "factory tested" on your particular mainboard? Where does OCZ mention what systems/chipsets where used during the test procedures to see if the memory overclock results in a stable system in all possible system configurations? That is why I stay away from OCZ. Too many compatibility problems because of non-standard operating parameters.
According to Intel Specifications, the Intel P45 Chipset is only specified for DDR3-800 and DDR3-1066 operation. That is it.

If there is a problem with the board (and it could have been a problem with the board two years ago), RMA would have been the right thing to do. Now it is almost a little late for that.

Terms of Payment Enhancement

Are any user exits or other methods of enhancement available for terms of payment? My customer has vendor terms of payment that cannot be configured using the standard configuration parameters. Examples of these are:
1) Anticipation: Assuming an annual discount percentage of 15% the discount is calculated as follows:
     Invoice Amount x (0.15/360) x Days Paid Early
2) Tiered Rates: Discount rates with 3 or more terms, for example:
     10%   15 days
     8%     25 days
     6%     35 days
     4%     45 days
     2%     55 days
     Net     60 days
The payment will be done using transaction F110. I have checked the user exits for transaction F110 and found 36 of them, but none that seem suitable. They are mostly used for payment medium enhancement.

Hi,
The terms of payment field has been provided in company code data & sales area data is because they can have different entries in both places. The reason for having at both the places is -- it is the business transaction {if it is created and assigned to the sales document types} which will decide from where terms of payment has to be picked up.
I haven't come across the situation wherein CMR has different terms of payment at both the places, so I can't comment much on that.
