Standard function type Forecasting in BPC.

Hello everyone!
Since BPC 7.0 NW does not have an standard planning function type forecasting  (BPS/BI-IP) as a tool to predict the future development of key figure values (signeddata). What could be a good way to implement this function in BPC?
Any work around ideas?
Thanking you in advance.

Russbel.

  • Function types for Balance Sheet Planning missing in SEM-BPS 6.0

    Hi BPS experts,
After upgrading our BI-system from SEM 4.0 to SEM 6.0 (level 10) as part of the upgrade from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 (level 15), the BPS function types for balance sheet planning are not available in the planning environment (Transaction code BPS0).
According to the SAP Library the balance sheet planning functions in SEM-BPS comprises of 6 standard function types - one of them is "Depreciation":
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sem60/helpdata/en/0a/242537cedf2056e10000009b38f936/frameset.htm">help.sap.com -> Business Planning and Simulation (BW-BPS)</a>
Menu path: Business Planning Functions -> Functions for Balance Sheet Planning
In our existing SEM 4.0 we are using "Depreciation" and the functions based on this function type are of course short dumping when executed in our upgraded system (SEM 6.0) as the function type does not exist here.
Odd though - we do have the function type "Allocation" available in SEM 6.0, which should be delivered with SEM together with the Balance Sheet Planning function types (It is listed directly under "Business Planning Functions" in the SAP Library) .
I have tried to figure out whether we missed out on activating something during or after the system installation, but our basis consultant has not found anything in the installation guides related to this issue. Also I was wondering whether it could be a simple matter of activating some Business Content but without any luck.
Does anybody know why the Balance Sheet Function Types are not available in SEM-BPS 6.0?
    Kind regards,
    Lars

  • Standard Planning function Type

    Hi,
Would anybody give some example of standard planning function type except COPY and REVALUATION.
Points will be awarded to the suitable reply
    Regards,

    Hi ,
Kindly go through the below link for more details on all standard functions,
    [http://help.sap.com/SAPHELP_NW04s/helpdata/EN/43/37d8c2af4c1bcbe10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm]
    1. Unit conversion:
Consider that all your planned records are in "G" unit and if you want to convert this to any other unit like "Pound", then you can use this planning function. The prerequisite for this is, you need to create a suitable "Unit conversion type" using the tcode: RSUOM, for converting "G" to "Pounds".
    2. Currency Translation:
Consider that all your planned records are in "EUR" currency and if you want to convert this to any other currency like "USD", then you can use this planning function. The prerequisite for this is, you need to create a suitable "Currency translation type" using the tcode: RSCUR, for converting "EUR" to "USD".
    3. Deleting Invalid Combinations:
Consider that you did not have any characteristicc relationships in your project and hence you have invalid data in your planning cube. For example, you have 'Product' and 'Product Group' in your cube and the end user has entered wrong values for 'product group' for a corresponding 'product'. In this case you can create a characteristic relationship for 'Product' and 'Product Group' and then execute this planning function so that all the records with invalid relationships between 'Product' and 'Product Group' will be deleted.
    4. Repost:
This is similar to 'Copy' planning function. But the only difference is 'Copy' copies the records from source to target. But 'Repost' moves the records from source to target, (i.e.) after the records are copied they are deleted in the source.
    5. Repost (Characteristic Relationships):
This is similar to 'Deleting Invalid Combinations' but the only difference is, instead of deleting the invalid combinations, this function reposts the old relationships to the new correct ones based on active characteristic relationships.
    6. Distribution by Key:
You can use the Distribution by Key function type to generate the characteristic combinations to which data is distributed in accordance with the master data and characteristic relationships. The key figure values are distributed according to the expressly specified distribution keys. These are distribution functions that determine the weighting of the distribution.
For example, you have planned revenue based on 'Country' but you have some part of the revenue which is "not assigned" to any country. You can use this planning function to distribute this "Not Assigned" revenue to any particular "Country".
    7. Distribution by Reference Data:
You use the Distribution by Reference Data function type to generate combinations of characteristics that correspond to the reference data. The system distributes data in accordance with these combinations. The key figure values are distributed by percentage in accordance with the reference data. You use the table for key figure selection to select the key figures that you want to distribute.
For example, you have actual values for the year '2011' and you want to use this data to distribute it to the future year '2012'.
In this case you can use this planning function, to distribute the '2011' data to '2012'. The prerequisite for this is there should be planned data already available for the year '2012'. This function is used after the manual planning is done for the future year.
    Hope this clears your doubt.

  • Currency Translation at the Web Template level (standard functionality)

    Hi Experts ,
We are currently working in BI 7.0 env. with source system ECC 5.0.
We are working for a task where we need to make the BEx  queries enabled for currency translation .
    The requirement is :-
The user should be enable to give/opt/choose for the follwoing options:-
Currency type (target currency in which the translation is aimed)
Exchange Rate ( Standard(M) or other(P) or something else) and
Key date: The translation will be performed taking the exchange rate on that particular date.
We do have 2 option to perform the task...
1:- Either we do it thru currency translation type definition(RSCUR) and then attaching this currency translation for every amount key figure values at each query level. OR
2:- If we can go and find something at the Web Template level and add/modify the template in such a way so that it gives us the functionality to translate a source currency into a desired one with desired exchange rate type (currently either M or P) and for a specific date.
At this point of time when we do have numerous sub-areas holding hundreds of queries, we want something which should be available as the modification/addition to standard functionality at the web template level and not at the query level as changing each and every one of them and testing would be a cumbersome process and would be costly and risky at the same time. So we are just wondering if we can find something with option no. 2 and add/modify something in the standard functionality.
Please ask for any more information required.
    Thanks very much.
    regds.

    Hi Amit,
You would still need to define the Currency Translation using RSCUR where you would specify
-the exchange rate type (either fixed or variable)
-the target currency (either fixed or variable)
    -the reference date
You don't need to modify any of your queries. You can instead use 'Translate Currency'/[SET_CURRENCY_TRANSLATION] command in WAD & specify the Currency Translation as defined in RSCUR. If you want the target currency & exchange rate type to be driven by user input, you can define these as variables in RSCUR & invoke the variable screen using 'OPEN_VARIABLE_DIALOG' in WAD for user input just before calling 'SET_CURRENCY_TRANSLATION' command.

  • How to populate custom fields in SAP standard Basic type DELFOR01(E1EDK09)

I've a requirement to include and populate 2 custom fields in SAP standard basic type DELFOR01 and Segment E1EDK09 (it is at hierarchy level 1 ) .
The requirement looks very simple but for this, as per my knowledge, I have to create a new  Basic type with the copy of segment E1EDK09 and attach it to outbound process code and write my own function module to populate the segments.
It seems ok but the there are some existing codes in the user-exits for the SAP standard function module. These codes will not get triggered.(Or I've copy the user-exits code in my FM)
Can we do it any other way to handle this kind of situation?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help.

    Hi Phani,
You have done it correctly. ECC additional data to be moved to EWM, 1. you need to enhance the CIF for master data/ bapi  to populate the data in the custom field in EWM. 2. Make your your are not enhancing only one structure. You need to do it in the CI includes so that the field is available in all the related tables/structures.
    3. The BAPI/FM which updated these tables will take care automatically to update the custom field data if the field is correctly added in all the tables.
    4. If the custom fields are added correctly and still the data is not getting saved , then need to check the mapping of the custom field and bepi extension.
Let me know if this helps.

  • Projects, is the Standard Functionality the one with COGS created?

Korean Air manufactures AIRCRAFT components and delivers them to customers such as Boeing. It wants to implement ERP (R12) applying Oracle Projects Solution.
    Issue
    1. When Shipping Type Deliverable is created in Project Module and it is interface to Shipping Execution for Ship Confirm, COGS(Cost of Goods Sold ) for Shipping Item is created and it overlaps with cost of sales per Project/Task.
    Question
*1. **When Shipping was done using deliverable of Shipping Type in Project Module, is the Standard Functionality the one with COGS created?*
    A. If the number 1 case is Standard Functionality, is there any option to prevent COGS creation?
    B. If the answer is no, by what kind of setup is it possible?
    C. Does Shipping of Project Module based on “non-asset based warehouse”?
*2. What is the Integration mapping of Project Management, Shipping Execution, Inventory, AR, COGS etc?*
    The following are basic process.
    1. Quotation-> Contract -> Plan -> Production -> Delivery -> Revenue
    A. Using Deliverable in Projects
    2. Project: Agreement
    3. Task: Unit
    4. Purchasing Plan, Production Plan etc. executed based on Project/Task
    5. Cost calculation is calculated in Project/Task unit
    6. When Task (Tail Number) is completed, deliver to Boeing according to contract
    B. Interface through Shipping Execution
    C. Ship Confirm
    7. Based on cost revenue is recognized according to progression rate.
    A. Cost Collect
    B. Generate Draft Revenue
    8. Based on delivery or contract, account receivable is created and send to customer.
    A. Create Event per Task
    B. Generate Draft Revenue
    C. Interface Draft Revenue to Receivables.

    Hello Daniel,
The PCI serial cards are not supported with LabVIEW RT for ETS targets and are not expected to work. We are looking into finding a way to add support for PCI serial devices in RT, but currently that support does not exist.
One possible workaround would be to use a NI ENET-485-X device. The visa resource name will not be COMx in this case. Instead, you will need to enter the long name of ASRL::::::INSTR as documented in the NI-VISA help.
I hope this helps. If you need to speak with your sales representative to resolve this issue, please follow this link. Have a great day.

  • Standard IDoc Type for Inbound NonPO Vendor Invoices - FB60

What should be the perfect standard IDoc Type for Inbound NonPO Vendor Invoice posting. Tcode FB60.
I found IDoc Type FIDCCP02 but the Function Module 'IDOC_INPUT_FIDCC2' for FIDCCP02 is not released.
In the same way many other standard function modules like - IDOC_INPUT_ACLPAY, IDOC_INPUT_FIDCCH, IDOC_INPUT_ACC_INVOICE_RECEIPT and few more are not released.
My question : If at all I have to use standard IDoc Type, Message type and Function module (Released) for Inbound NonPO Vendor Invoices, then what should be the solution from SAP ?
    Thanks,
    Veeru.

    Hi,
IDOC_INPUT_FIDCC2 for FIDCCP02 works for us in ECC6.0
If you want Automatic tax calculation functionality using FIDCCP02.. then FIDCC2 is not correct message type for you. In that case you should probably go for :
    Msg: INVOIC
    Basic type: INVOIC02
    FM: IDOC_INPUT_INVOIC_FI
    Process code: INVF

  • How to indicate a message by a planning function type in an ABAP-OO-Class

    Hello,
I integrated a message with following statement " MESSAGE i003(upf1) WITH v1 v2." in an ABAP-OO-Class, which is used by a Planning Function Type. The function type works but it´s not indecated after executing the Planning Sequence, neither from web template nor in the planning modeller.
    Does anybody know this problem/behavior?
    Thank for response
    Andreas

    Hi Joerg,
    how about this:
    data: l_dummy type char100.
    MESSAGE i003(upf1) WITH v1 v2  into l_dummy.
    i_r_msg->add_msg( ).
You do not need to take special care about the variables. Just raise the message as you want it to be raised. The only thing you need to do is to raise the message into a string (..into l_dummy). The interface IF_RSPLFA_MSG and the implemetation of add_msg is going to read the standard message variables (SY-MSGNO, SY-MSGID, SY-MSGTY, MSGV1 ...). You just need to throw the message
and call  i_r_msg->add_msg( ) e.g. in the execute method of your customer planning function.
Please give it a try and take a look at it in the debugger.
    Hope this helps.

  • Updating Standard comm type in vendor master idoc- CREMAS03

    Hi all,
We have requirement of processing inbound vendor master data.We are using CREAMS03 idoc type as our system is 4.6C.
While updating venor master in general data we are not able to update the field Standard communication type.
Can anybody help me to find out which is the field needs to be filled to update the standard comm type in vendor master?
if this field is not present in CREMAS03 then do we need to customise our idoc???
if partner system sends this field in some other balnk field then how to map this field in BDC??? is there any enhancement?
I am using process code CRE1 which is calling IDOC_INPUT_CREDITOR function module.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Raghavendra

    I buy your point.
I will create WHT Type for WHT Code - Individual and WHT Code - Others.
But still there will be an issue since WHT Code will be different Non PAN and With PAN (within Individual). So still this will be an issue.
    How to control this now.

  • BI Integrated Planning Self-defined planning function type ( RSPLF1 )

    Dear all,
I got 2 questions regarding the new BIIP customer defined planning function type.
      1. How do we create the class for the planning function type ? Do we copy standard one( like CL_RSPLFC_DELETE ) as template ? Or , can we create a class whcih use standard class as a supper class and change the methods as we want?
      2. Since the planning modeler is running on web , is it possible to debug the self-defined planning function type in SAPGUI?
    Thank you,
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
from the documentation it seems that you have to copy the delivered Classes: two methods are mandatory (the ones about execution IF_RSPLFA_SRVTYPE_IMP_EXEC and IF_RSPLFA_SRVTYPE_IMP_EXEC_REF). See the on line help:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/43/548bafbc0f357ee10000000a11466f/frameset.htm
I didn't try yet, did you? Have you experienced something different?

Message was edited by: Jeff Huang

    Jeff,
Copying a standard planning function is the simplest way to begin and CL_RSPLFC_DELETE is the simplest function, so that is the ideal one to start with (assuming you are not looking to collect reference data as well).
As far as debugging, simply put a hard BREAK-POINT statement in your method(s) and it will break as desired whenever you test it from the planning modeler.

    Dear all,
I need to read the following information, it is nice to have standard function modules, do you know any?
    1. monthly birthday list
    2. anniversaries of people in a month
    3. Entries/Exits of people in a month
    4. reminder for other HR events like Performance Review and Expiry of Probation
    Thanks a lot.

goto t-code SE37 and do a wildcard search:
type *birth* and hit the F4 key on keyboard
the list of function modules to extract brithdates will list out.
you will need to spend time to review if each of them fits your requirement
likewise for other function, feel free to do the wildcard search using the keyword in Se37
