Standard Reports with Links

I'm trying to create a dashboard on the home page of my application for the logged in user. The page ideally would have 2 interactive reports they could click on to navigate to edit the record. It seems I can only use 1 interactive report per page. Is it possible to add links on standard reports to map to the edit page?

You're right that you can't use more than one IR on a page. And Jeff is absolutely right that you can use the Form with Report.
However, if you already have an edit form built on the data you want to edit, you can indeed create a standard report and then link it to the existing form.
Just create the report on your Dashboard Page as you normally would. When that is done and working the way you want it to, edit the dashboard page and then edit the Report Attributes of that report. Chose the column that you want to make a link to the form and click on the edit icon (on the far left) for that column. Scroll down to the COLUMN LINK region on the page. This is where you can set up the column to be a link to another page (or url).
Depending on which column you chose, you'll probably want to use either one of the built-in images, or the actual column value for the link text. The quick links below this field will help you out with this.
For TARGET, select "Page in this Application", and then enter the page number of the edit screen in PAGE.
You'll also want to pass across the ID of the item you want to edit to the page. You do this by placing that item's name (i.e. P29_ORDER_ID) in the NAME and the replacement variable for the value (i.e. #ORDER_ID#) . Luckily the little flashlights help with this as well.
Once you've got that done, apply your changes and your link should show up in your report!

    no special logic is required
    If u want to use
    RPUAUDOO IN THE ZREPORT.
    Put the submit button where ever required
    ex: In zreport after certain process reacedu want to call then use
    submit rpuaudoo and return.

  • Item(select list) with LOV and Report with link = changed value item

    Hello,
    On one page I have:
    - Item 'P_name' (select list) with LOV to select name of a person;
    - Items 'factory' and Report 'factory'(standard created with 'Form with Report' on the same page).
    Situation:
    All works fine. I selected first a LOV Item 'P_name' (say 'Jane'). But....
    Only when I select a record (to change the values) from the report 'factory' then LOV Item 'P_name' become empty. Report used a link to the same page to fill the report items 'factory' and make also the LOV item empty.
    Question:
    I have made a process that write the name 'Jane' to table.
    I see two possibilities:
    - LOV Item value => fill the LOV item with 'Jane' from the table before region. Is this possible?
    - Report => What is the buttonname of reportlink? I can use this name in the processes.

    1) what i meant was for you to test this ridiculously huge LOV outside of htmldb, but it occurred to me last night that you could, in fact, be hitting a limit of ours. after some poking around, i have confirmed that. select list items in htmldb are currently limited to 10,000 rows. this was initially done for performance reasons, but they're now opening up the restriction. if you really need to work with that many rows where the user is allowed to pick from a set of values, consider using a popup item type instead. it'd help your app performance as well (in my test cases, it stank to have to wait for my 10k select list rows to come down to my browser).
    2) sorry to not have been more clear about this, but when you set your item's "Source Type" back to "Database Column", you'd have to specify that column in the "Source or value expression" field. also, you can't put a sql query into that "Post Calculation Computation" field. as i said before, "you can take a look at the attribute-level help for that field to see implementation examples."
    3) stick with "Always..." for now if you're using our auto-dml process(es)

    I am not sure about the link to a standard Report. I don't think it is possible, As far as I can work out the closest you will get to what you want in  CR2008 is a link to Data Clusters, Data Dictionary and Function Modules CR.  Perhaps someone with more experience than me can offer more insight though.
    If your goal is to utilize CR2008 just for the ability to link to Xcelcius you should check out the following site, as it may help you approach your goal differently. This shows a great method for linking directly from Xcelcius to SAP.

      Pls check the relevant table where the condition records are stored. then do a query with  that condition table and KONP. say for eg: condn type ZINV,ZMRP gets stored in condition table A821, then combine A821 and KONP, u can input condition type and get the values........................
    go to vk13, display and click on layout, u will able to see the condition table.

    U can get Po release date  per release code, use  CDHDR and CDPOS tables in SE16
    Enter transaction as ME28/ ME29N, Enter the range date,enter the object value as PO number (PO number should be 10 digit if the PO is not 10 digit, then add zero value for the prefix).
    Then you can find the release date
    Rest details u can find from ME2N report i.e Po details and Release indicator using dyanamic selection

  • Standard report with fixed position.

    Hello,
    I have a page where i want the first report to have a fixed position.
    I have 3 regions with reports, the first will only display product name and number, the next report will display sales. The last report is very long so I have to scroll quite a bit. That's why i want the first report with names to have a fixed position so i can see which product i'm looking at.
    I have tried to make a copy of the standard report template, and in the before rows i have this code

    this didn't work
    Is this a way of making changes to the report template? Is it possible to make theese kind of changes in the report template or du I have to go inside the CSS file to add position:fixed somewhere?

    What browser(s) are you using? Win IE doesn't support fixed positioning :-(
    How about setting a fixed height for the last report and making it scrollable using overflow: scroll? This would make the first 2 reports "fixed" by default...

  • Saving WebI report with links to desktop in pdf format

    I have a user who is asking if a WebI report with drill down links can be saved to his desktop as a pdf and still have the links work. Has anyone had the same request?

    it´s ocurrs because the drill down that you have in the query, try with another query and export this to a PDF and if you can access ... is that is not possible to use the link for a drill down in a PDF.

    I have created a form that allows me to upload files into a database table with a blob column.
    Is it possible to create a report that will have a link to the files / database blob column, so when a user clicks on it, it displays the file.

    You can create a simple report that list all the file IDs and their name. Then create a link on the ID or filename, which calls a procedure (DISPLAY_BLOB) passing it the id.

    I think you are doing clasical reporting isn't ?
    If so move the column of that field
    for example  starting point of field xxxx1 is 10  it has 10 charecter
    next field xxx2 should starts at 22 becouse you ill be having two line in between.
    You need to count like that

    You might mapped both fileds to same location

  • Report with link that pass parameter with comma in it

    Hi.
    i have a Report and one of the columns is a Link to another page.
    i've set that when you click on that link, it redirect you to another page and pass the value of another column on that report to a text item on that page other page.
    the problem is that the value i want to pass has a comma in it and APEX split the value.
    although it look like a very common question, i could not find a solution for that.
    any tip?

    As a best practice we frequently advise against passing characters in the URL that are not numeric/simple primary key-type values, but you can pass a comma in f?p URL item values by enclosing the value between backslashes, e.g.,

        This is the first time i am working with the BI Publisher reports and fusion applications.
        My requirement is to add few columns to the standard report with out loosing the functionality.
        I was not aware that there is two ways of doing this, i was always copying data model and report to a new folder and trying to create a new job for the report.
        As mentioned in the document 7.2.1.4 Using the Customize Feature    , i clicked on the more button on my report but i do not see the customize option. Do i need to have any specific role for this to appear in the menu? Please kindly let me know.
        Also i see below limitations while customizing report
    Limitations
    Following are limitations of the Customize report option:
    The Customize option is only available through direct access to the BI Publisher server using the /xmlpserver URL (for example:http://hostname.com:7001/xmlpserver). The Customize option is not available through the /analytics URL used to access Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition.
    The Customize option is available only for reports. The Customize option is not available for data models, style templates, or sub templates.To customize data models, style templates or sub templates and insulate them from potential changes from patching: Make a copy of the data model, style template, or sub-template and either rename it or place it in a custom folder. Ensure that you update any reports to point to the customized data model, style template, or sub template.
        My requirement is to add few additional columns which needs Data Model to be modified, Can i copy the data model to the custom folder and do my modifications and point this data model in the report(as mentioned in the point 2 in the limitations)? In that case, will the original report submission works?
