Standard routing and rate routing
Hi All,
Can someone tell me what tables I should use to get the standard routing and rate routing for the query?
Thanks
Edward.
Dear,
Yes you are right.
The main difference between routing and rate routing is you can not create parallel sequence in rate routing CA21 only nothing else.
There are lot of different opinion on this topic but there is no too much difference in them only we use rate routing in REM and normal in Discrete manufacturing.
Also check this thread ,

Hope clear to you.

Difference between routing and rate routing
frndz,
Pls tell me the difference routing and rate routing.
regards,
SriniDear ,
[Rate Routing:]
1.A routing for whose operations the production quantity and a fixed duration has been defined. Thus the production rate is also defined.
2.Rate routings are used when you plan on a quantity basis, for example in repetitive manufacturing.
3.A rate routing has the same structure as a routing. You can assign a rate routing to a material to be produced. It can have prallel sequences.
[Routing]
1.Routings are used directly in production orders for a material.
2.A routing can be used without restrictions. Some functions from other task list types such as rate routings and inspection plans are also available in routings.
3.As well as a standard sequence a routing can also have parallel and alternative sequences. You can assign a routing to a material to be produced. -
Hi Gurus,
Please explain me the difference between Routing and rate routing in details
Thanks in advance
RupeshHi,
Functionality of Routing and rate routing is similar.
Routing: It defines the sequence of operations that should be carried at a work center to make up a product.
Routing is one of task list in PP module to carry out the production of finished and semi finished parts. it consists operation sequence which requires for manufacture finsihed and semi finished parts like operation 10. 20, 30...
It is mostly used in Discrete Manufacturing
Rate Routing: A routing for whose operations the production quantity and a fixed duration has been defined. Thus the production rate is also defined.
Rate routings are used when you plan on a quantity basis, for example in repetitive manufacturing.

What's the difference between routing and rate routing
As we all know that routing normally used in discrete manufacture, and rate routing used in REM, one of my client, the just use routing for REM instead of rate routing, are there any gurus can tell me some detail information about them?
Thanks!
EricHi,

Standard Routings and Rate Routings
Dear guru.
Whose are the difference between Standard Routings and Rate Routings ?
Thanks.Hi,
Ca01 is std Routing
CA21 is Rate Routing
The routing lists the operations needed to manufacture a product.
The rate routing is used in repetitive manufacturing. Repetitive
manufacturing normally produces in one comparative stable production line,
and has normally only one production operation.
With a routing, the base quantity is normally constant and the times
(such as the processing time) are determined through the standard values.
With the rate routing, however, it is the other way around.
The production quantities are maintained separately for each article,
and the time is constant. In a rate routing, therefore, you can specify
what quantity of an article is manufactured in a given time using a
production rate.
The functions of rate routings and routings are otherwise the same as those of normal routings -
I just purchased an Apple TV. I have a pc running windows 7. It is connected to a router and the router is connected to a wireless router. I connect my iPhone, iPad and apple tv to wireless network but do not know how to put the pc on the wifi network so the Apple TV can do home share.
I don't mean to be facetious but sometimes the simplest things are overlooked. To connect to your library you have to have the computer where the iTunes library is located running and with iTunes open. It also needs to be on the same network. My network is dual band and works with either stream but a friend of mine does not. He has to set the computer and the Apple TV to the same band. Hope this helps.

Want to stream Netflix to blueray player via my existing Airport Express wifi. The player finds my wifi but the wireless connection fails - says, " Ensure DHCP server is enabled on router and restart router." I don't think I have a DHCP server. Suggestions anyone?
I can't speak specifically regarding LG, but the Whole Home feature on Direct TV (record a movie on one DVR and watch it on another TV in another location) just won't work with wireless, and I have a strong fast connection at 300 Mbps. Ethernet works perfectly.
Few audio/video products will accept "n" wireless at 5 GHz. I suspect that your LG accepts a 2.4 GHz signal, which would top out at 130 Mpbs.
If you are trying to stream High Definition video, especially at 1080P, my opinion would be that it is unlikely that you will be able to do so reliably using wireless.
Perhaps another user who has figured out how to do this will post with some input. -
Difference between routing and super routing
Dear Members,
I have basic question , can some one point out difference between, routing and super routing.
also provide transaction code for creating super routing.
Thanks
SPalso go through documents created in forum for basic VC setup & super routing.

Scenario required for sd route and mm route
Dear Guru
There is two process for stock transfer order one is SD route and 2nd one is mm route
can you please explain the differnce between these rout
and what is the scenario required for sd route and mm route
it means in which scenario we use sd route for stock transfer and in which scenario we use mm route for stock transfer
Thanks in advance
KashyapKashyup,
I am not aware of 'SD Route vs MM Route'. They are the same Route.
STO is basically a special kind of Purchase order. Purchase orders are part of the MM module. In order to permit shipping goods from one plant to another, SAP has 'borrowed' some of the functionality from the SD module.
During Configuration of Stock Transport orders, you assign a Customer (Shipto), Sales org, and Distribution channel to the receiving plant. When creating a STO, the system uses these data to determine the Route.
Route contains info that the system uses to plan movement of goods from one location to another location in the SD module. The route contains duration information (how long does it take to move goods from warehouse to customer location), factory calendar, and perhaps some other data. In the case of an SD order, the system will find the customer for the Sales doc, the default shipping conditions for the customer, and using this information together with the region of the shipping point, will determine a route.
This same determination procedure is also used during creation of a STO. The system will take the STO customer from STO configuration, and the default shipping conditions for that customer, and using this information together with the region of the shipping point, will determine a Route. The same determination procedure used by SD sales orders.
When you are setting up your master data, and you have decided what the duration of transport time should be, it is important that your planned delivery time in your info records or in your material master be consistent with your shipping duration (pick/pack/route time). This makes the execution (creation and shipment of STOs) stay consistent with planning (creation of STO purchase reqs) as far as timing is concerned.
If your STOs use Deliveries, then the shipping information in the STO that was determined during creation (customer, shipping point, route, etc) will be copied to the delivery during delivery creation.

Idoc ROUTING_CREATE01 and rate routing
Hello,
Is it possible to create rate routing with idoc ROUTING_CREATE01, so far I can create only simple routing.
Thanks for your answer.Hi,
For rate routing:
use this BAPI: 'BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE' for creating Rate Routing

hi frnds,
whatz the differnce between rate routing and routing...
I knw that rate routing is used for REM.. what are the special fucntion that are avialable in rate routing over the normal routing...
Can we provide a rough production rate in rate routing say 50 qty per hr...
is that possible.....
any inputs... pls help.

csnHi Mr.Sarvan,
Routing:
1.A routing determines the sequence of individual operations thar are necessary to produce a Finished product.
2.A Rotuing contains operations & information about work centres at which the individual operations are to be carried out,as well as standard times.
3.It contains the material components required for an operation as well as the nessary tools, jigs & fixtures.
4.Each routing can have one or more alternative sequences & one or more parallel sequences.
5.The planned time for each operation (standard value) is stored in a routing.
CA01,CA02,CA03 - Rotuing creation,change & display T codes.
Rate Routing:
1.One of the Routing type that's used in REM - Repetetive manufacturing.
2.CA21,CA22,CA23-Create,Change,Display rate routing respectively.

Proper Firewall Behind Router and with Router
What is the best way to set-up my system? I have 5 home mac's behind a D-Link router, connected to Verizon DSL. I had the router set to give open access to one of my Mac's, and that Mac got hacked via SSH connection attempts. I turned on the Mac's firewall, but I do not know if this is necessary, as I have read you don''t need a firewall behind a router. I suppose there is a better way to set the router. I do want to permit me to SSH and Apple Remote Desktop into the Mac however. How do I allow valid users to SSH in, without be exposed to hack attacks?
Use your browser to access the router and setup the router firewall.
If it has a stealth setting, use that. Each router is a bit different.
The Leopard firewall can be set to "Set access for specific services...." and then each app will ask for permission, once, to use the firewall.
While it may be true that you don't need a firewall behind a router, that really depends on how good the router firewall is. If the router has no firewall, then that statement is completely false. All a naked router provides is Network Address Translation, which is not enough for security these days.
I would suggest you point your browser at this website:
https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
and run a port scan.
My Verizon DSL router has all the ports stealthed, meaning that they do not respond in any way to a ping or traceroute. To most hackers, they simply do not exist.
I also use the Leopard firewall.
Do not use any sharing service unless you actually need it, and if you don't need it, turn it off, especially any of the Remote services, Internet sharing, etc.
You can also install LittleSnitch to monitor you systems port activity and see if anyone is accessing your machine.
Finally, it's never a good thing to use an administrator account when a regular account will serve the purpose. -
Clear ip route * and dynamic routing behaviour
Hi,
Can somebody please explain why " clear ip route * " makes RIP database renew but no effect on other protocols' database - EIGRP, OSPF and BGP?
I've tested it and just RIP affected. what is difference of RIP from other protocols?
RgdsHi,
routing table gets populated with all the routing protocol route database and if same route available with multiple routing protocol, route with lowest AD get installed in routing table.
Now "clear ip route * " should just repopulate the routing table with existing info available in the routing database of various routing protocol.
Can you please share the logs indicating "clear ip route * " is refreshing the RIP database and when not doing clear it is stable. By default in RIP, every 30 second, complete routing table is exchanged. You can change this timer with command "timers basic update invalid holddown flush "

Connecting 2 routers: T1 Router and Cisco Router
Hi, thanks for reading this.
My company has a T1 line that goes into the provider's Netopia router. I'd like to connect that router to our Cisco 1811 router to take advantage of the firewall, DHCP, VLAN, and NAT features. So, this is what I'm trying to do:
Internet -- T1 Router -- Cisco 1811 -- Servers and Workstations
The Netopia router is a T1 router with 1 WAN port and 8 built-in Ethernet ports. The Cisco 1811 has 2 WAN FE ports and 8 Managed Switch ports.
First of all, I'd like to ask if this is even possible to do. If it is, please tell me how to physically connect the routers (what port to what port, and what kind of cable).
Thank you.I don't know the Netopia routers but what you want to do should be possible. On the physical level you have to connect one of the Netopia ethernet ports to one of the WAN FE ports, probably using an ethernet cross-over cable.
Now comes the fun part: configuration. -
Sequence selection in Rate Routing
hi,
In Normal Routing in sequence overview - extras - new entries we can find the option of creating a Parallel or Alt sequence, but in Rate routing there is no way to select the type of Sequence. It by default shows Parallel sequence.
Pl. let me know the step by step proceduer to create a Alternate sequence in Rate routing.
regardsDear Rishi,
We cant create any alternative sequence for a rate routing. This is one of the difference between routing and rate routing.
Rate routing supports only standard and parallel sequence.
If alternative sequence is present in a routing, then at the time of order creation the system gives a pop to select for alternative
sequence or to skip it and proceed.
For this under OPL8,for plant order type combination the field sequence exchange should be having value 2 - manual selection.
Creating production version or sequence in my understanding depends on the business requirement.
Check and revert
